acoji, that happened to me too!!! After 3 attempts, I FINALLY got through the last boss of aeth path w/o disconnecting, lagging so bad that i died and gave up, etc, and right before I go to get my aeth chests? What happens? I GOT DISCONNECTED. I’ve literally put in prob like, 5 hours of play time trying to get to those chests. GAAAAHHH
Anet, I will switch to Diablo 3, Borderlands 2, WOW, or even tetra if this is not fixed soon!!!
Dude. Its a DDoS attack. Nothing Anet can do about it.
Anet isnt the only game getting attacked. its a bunch of others too.

It’s kinda silly that they have multiple platforms being hit at the same time.
You’d think they’d be a bit wiser and use different nodes for each game so they cannot all be taken offline by 1 attack.
Anet owns its own servers, but the connection still go through the datacenters set up by NCsoft in Dallas (i think).
Would explain why every time he takes down Wildstar, that GW2 either gets increasingly laggier, or down completely as well.
This guy is DDoSing the databases for NCsoft and like dominoes, GW2 is falling with it.
Hes been doing this since yesterday apparently.
He took down wildstar, Everquest, World of Tanks, Archeage, Battle.net, Pornhub, etc.
Its all there on his twitter. All the posts where he says he took a game down seem to match up with when the games have gone down as well, so it is prolly legit.

Well, someone copy and paste his page over to the fbi then lol.
This has been happening since yesterday, and according to his twitter, the FBI has tried to contact him already.
He said he blocked them instead.
Then he said “lets be honest, im not going to jail”
Really easy guy to hate.

All of the #offline posts from that guy do seem to match up with when GW2 and the other games + pornhub went down.
It probably is him.
I dont think the orbs represented the dragons directly. I think the orbs represent the different kinds of magic in the universe. Each dragon just happens to use only one.
Who says that line doesn’t mean anything but “He didn’t use necromancer abilities to get close without making a sound”? <_<.
The answer to this whole thread is we don’t know who E is and we won’t know until it’s revealed. The identity of E is not supposed to be known and information about E is intentionally vague so that E could end up being literally almost anyone. It’s impossible to rule out anyone other than the PC, or make a strong case for any individual (because everything given is so vague and across the board almost any theory could be equally supported).
I have a theory that the PC is Mr. E
:)
Looking the ‘’The Eternal Alchemy’’ cutscene, i’m pretty sure each Elder Dragon is a champion of a greater entity.
http://it.tinypic.com/r/141839j/8
We have 6 orbs, each for every elder dragon, (blue, green, white, black, red, pink), several empty circle ( maybe unawakened dragon in other lands) and one big in the center that rule the other six.
In the game we have first “cross-corruption” a plant-risen wolf
http://it.tinypic.com/r/mbh1zr/8
and the inquests in coe works for subject alpha
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Subject_Alpha
In the wiki subject alpha use skill from 3 different dragon.Maybe the Ancient dragon (?) have the ability to use every corruption of every dragon to create a definitive minion, and the inquest works to create one in labs.
We can see zaithan corruption on the scarlet corpose.
http://it.tinypic.com/r/2lihe94/8
Maybe scarlet now is corrupted by Mordremoth and zaithan, making a step forward to the first ancient dragon (?) minion.Anyway:
-Zaithan is alive, The black orb is in the cutscene, so it can corrupt the world anymore.Sorry for my rusty english anyway.
I dont think the orbs represent the dragons exactly. I tihnk the orbs represent the magic they use. For instance, instead; each orb is a different type of magic.
“being dead” is not zhaitan’s corruption.
I laughed.
Angel was correct! Pen & Bloom have returned to Kessex Hills in the newest Living Story. They occur in the story part: Trouble at Fort Salma. I won’t spoil it, but be sure to talk to them & listen.
We must find them a safe, great place to start a pod! I would like to suggest my Hall of Monuments!
<3 <3
~Millythe scrying pool is so shallow you can’t even dive. might as well put them on a fish tank.
Great Idea. We can then make them do tricks, and have people come in and watch for money.
We’ll call it… Seaworld.
Perhaps Kasmeer is unaware of how easy it is to talk to the pale tree? Perhaps she thinks its like the human queen, where she is behind a million castle walls and beaurocrats and guards.
Hm, pretty specific. Well there goes that theory.
Who da heck is E
< i feel like this is a thing where Anet is never gunna reveal who E is, and just use E as a tool to instruct players for the living world.
Here is a screenshot of an interesting vine right outside of the dry top entrance. I have no idea if it has always looked like that. But my question is if the vines travel underground they pass the destroyers in Kessex Hills and also I thought the tengu had a destroyer problem so do you think the destroyers would ignore the vines or are the vines avoiding them?
It could be the vines avoiding them. As I stated previously though, I do not think the other Elder Dragons will take Mordy’s awakening lightly. With the spreading of those vines, he’s taking more energy than they are. And recalling how Kralky’s mind was like a raging tornado attempting to devour everything in its greed (my take on the Edge of Destiny mentioning on Kralky’s mind), none of the other dragons are going to take this laying down. Expect the other dragons to start making their move very soon.
Three way elder dragon showdown, like a wvw matchup. Taking bets on who wins.
Well Primordius and his fire-minions would probably beat Mordremoth and his plants fairly easily. The real battle is between the stone and lava minions or Primordius and the crystal minions of Kraky.
I was thinking more Jormag/Kraky/Mordy. Primordius seems to have an unfair advantage against both Modry and Jormag.
… and then Bubbles starts to surface in front of Mordy & Jojo, proposing, “If you two stop freezing or draining me dry, I’ll lend you my power to extinguish the flames of Kraky”
Foursome is always better than threesome imo
Primordius is the fire/earth dragon, Kralk is crystal
You are right, my bad. So it should be “…. extinguish the flames of Primo”.
I am secretly hoping for “Invasion of Body Snatchers” scenario, Mordy’s tendrils start sprouting pods and clones walking out from them… you know, killing Mordy’s clone of Trehearne… no, make it CLONES of Trehearne, so everyone have a chance. Pretty please AN?
You could be right. one of the miners from prosperity was complaining of hearing things, and that being in the mine made his brain feel itchy.
Makes me think fungus.
Though, he is mammalian, and Sylvari being plants, probably already have a mechanism far more advanced to combat fungi than humans, even elder dragon fungi. especially since corruption of sylvari seems to be more mental and through the dream connection (or lack-there-of).
I wonder if we set him on fire would he still yell " Moving on" in the middle of a fight ?
Sylvari aren’t flammable in the same way humans aren’t flammable.
they’re both full of water.
… Unless you count human hair, human hair is certainly very flammable.
(back on topic)
I think most likely it’ll turn out that trahearne handed leadership of the pact over to the three leaders of the orders, and they run the pact as an oligarchy. After all, his wyld hunt had been completed.
The added friction between the leaders of the orders for commanding a joint army would be a pretty interesting dynamic to see lore-wise.

I dont understand, are you saying that you think Marj and Kas are lyssa in disguise, or are turning into a god like lyssa, i dont get it.
A: It’s facing minions yes, the dragon themselves? No. Also, the VIGIL is taking on the Shatterer, not the Pact. The Pact is really facing the Claw of Jormag only really outside of Orr. Even then, it’s nothing more then a holding the line action, hardly a campaign.
B: I understand your context, though I wouldn’t word it that way personally. I’d probably word it something more like “They’ve faced the forces of three elder dragons in decent numbers.”
C: Orr was an ENTIRE NATION Turned to Risen. Plus all the pirates who took shelter there, plus everybody the Risen has killed and turned since then, plus corpses found from shipwrecks in the deep, Plus all the native wildlife turned to risen. That’s like attacking the USA, but instead of just fighting all the people walking around, you are fighting all the corpses buried there, and every animal in the forests and lakes. Oh, and everybody who died just off the coast.
It’s a very, very large number of risen, and they aren’t easy to kill at all. Plus artifacts and dragon champions may continue to spawn more risen even with Zhaitan’s death. It was a fierce, costly battle to reach Arah and take out Zhaitan, why would it suddenly become easy afterwards? the Risen by no means just stopped fighting and/or died. Traehearne, IIRC, stated outright that Orr wouldn’t be safe and the Risen would be a threat for a long time, though now it’s a slowly dwindling threat instead of one growing larger each day.
Frankly, if you go there, a very real concern in one camp in cursed shore is the fact the caravan guards/ the scouts or messagers HADN’T returned yet. And that for all they know, they could be shipping supplies straight to a Risen horde charging them. Zhaitan is dead and the source of Orr cleansed, but the Risen will be there until every last one of them is killed. Which will be a long time seeing as we haven’t even been through HALF of Orr.
It took 250 years for the undead in kryta to be eradicated.
Are you saying there is no hope for the living story to revamp Orr??
ALL HOPE IS LOST!
After digging (or trying at least) into the wiki info on E, I feel completely unsatisfied.
I have a personal theory that E could be Livia (and that she is masquerading as Anise, but lets leave that alone for now) from GW1 but as the wiki states, E had no necromatic power, however I couldn’t find any dialogue from in-game that mentions this.
What was Marjories dialogue mentioning E not being a necromancer? Anyone know?
7/10
I remember the Iboga, very fitting. Maybe with the releasing of more maguuma maps, some maguuma/jungle themed hair and face options may come up for sale, and you could really pull off the Iboga look.
I have two sylvari, they’re twins.
Vaellen – Elementalist
Veallan – Warrior
I hope that mordremoth decides to attack his traitorous pale tree head on. the pale tree finds out before hand, and warns the sylvari via the dream connection. in the meantime, the actual tree part of her contorts, and folds, and turns out she was a dragon all along, and flies away, to some place safer, like the dry northern wastes.
Considering the place looks like its gunna get wiped out in the next episode, itll be interesting to see how what ever is going on there will continue afterward.
Personally, i don’t think they’re silly. They give off a pretty cool Tibetan feel, the real issue with the Kodan is that they have not been touched on at all throughout the whole of GW2 since launch. I wish Anet would flesh them out a bit in-game, but i guess that will have to wait untill we take on Jormag.
Why the heck does this map say Kralkattorik is in the charr homelands??
Abaddon was maybe the greatest benefactor of humanity. He understood that only the strong should survive. That would have allowed humanity to become the dominating race of Tyria and they could have defeated the dragons already. But instead the other gods took pity on the weak, as they saw themselves in that weakness. And who knows, maybe the humans waging the wars were about to master that magic beyond the gods’ liking. And so they hid behind noble reasons, only to protect themselves. And after they had screwed with humanity and with one of their own, they abandoned everyone, even leaving the now weakened humanity to the wrath of the one they betrayed.
Calling Abaddon the betrayer is as false as it can get. The other 5 where the ones betraying Abaddon. This is why their powers should be harnessed, preferably by me (meaning my main Asura Mesmer
), but they themselves should be destroyed.
Also, the magic of the blood stone should be released and magic should be wild again, as this is the natural state of Tyria.
P.S.: I know that all of that might not be intended by the devs, but I see this kind of scenario with the facts we were given very likely. It certainly would explains a lot to my Asura main character:
- the 6 gods (members of a magical race somewhere in the mists) were afraid of the dragons discovering their existence
- they came to Tyria when the dragons were sleeping
- they cultivated humans as their army against the dragons
- they escaped the scene, claiming humanity has to “grow on its own”, while they themselves only wanna be as far away as possible from the action and the magic consuming dragons
There are so many different conflicting origin stories for the gods that i wouldnt be surprised.
I think the camp is all that is being destroyed. doubt the whole zone would be affected, that would make no sense.
Mordremoth attacking concordia to strike at the pact, though; Makes a lot of sense.
I dont think the vines are travelling via waypoint. that doesnt make sense, wouldnt it get chopped into two peices from that?
I think mordy is attacking concordia because he knows what scarlet knows, and she knew that the pact killed zhaitan, and so mordy is doing a lil preemptive strike. Why would they?
Do we get chopped into two pieces when we use WPs?We actually know that Scarlet did work on Mobile WPs, which would suggest that she (and therefore Mordy) had rather good knowledge of them and as such it is fully possible that it could use them in order to travel far.
We as humanoids are not attached to a single immovable source. A vine has to have roots somewhere. it cant just slither around like a snake.
There are theories that the ‘corruption’ is using the waypoints to spread.
There are two (as far as I know) jungle vines that are constantly touching waypoints at the moment. One in Dry Top, and one in Brisban Wildlands by the skritt. This may be how it reached Concordia so quickly.
I believe the elder dragons are not essentially natural. Let me put it this way…
There were these 6 amazing ~wizards~ and they all were learning magic. A planty one, a watery one, a icey one, a dirty one, and a purple one; oh yeah and an emo one. they all eventually all got so good at it, and loved the power it gave them that they all got ~addicted~ to it. They eventually become god-like, through their consumption of the magic in their world straight out of the air, and its ether to feed their addiction. Sometimes they pass out because of all the magic they eat.
…
Sound familiar?
Simply, i just think the dragons are normal beings that became addicted, and that’s what made them what they are. I don’t think its right to think of them as a force of nature for the balance of tyria; just whacked out junkies gettin’ a fix.
If they were forces of nature, then why take the form of dragons? just doesn’t seem right, just as much as how the reapers from mass effect didn’t seem right… AT ALL.
~I dont care what bioware may think, but i can guarantee you that when the big bang went off and created the known and unknown universe, it didn’t also create synthetic life that was bent on destroying all organic life every whatever years. So silly. at least to me.~
I used to think the whole elder dragon cycle of extinction was a bit silly too, until i realized all the parallels that Anet is doing with the elder dragons, and the real life “big extinction events” on our own planet. Having gone through 5 major extinction events already, and many more scientists suggesting we’re about to head into our sixth, thanks to global warming and human expansionism, etc… interesting note: None of the first 5 extinction events happened because of humans, or even when humans in their current form even existed.
I wonder…
When ley lines are explained, the analogy that is normally used is the one of them being the river or stream through which magic (the “water”) flows. I guess, then, that would make Mordremoth the greedy monster at the end of our river, drinking all the water for himself. But what does Nochtli’s story tell us about what will happen when we kill Mordremoth?
Perfhaps the maguuma jungle is magical, and since mordremoth is sucking up all the magic, the jungle is drying up.
When he dies, perhaps the jungle will start to grow back?
Attached is the full size of the map, and its edges.
From the looks of it, we’re only going up from here on out.
They’ll prolly ad another map piece later on that goes into the falls.
I would enjoy quaggan more if they sounded more like actual whales. They are incredibly interesting until they open their frikkken mouth and start talking. Worst voice over in the history of racial voice overs.
Still i cant get over their lovable appearance. I’d just tape their mouth shut and leave it at that though.
My least favorite is skritt, because they annoy me, and don’t interest me.
This is the complete map…
So enough area to expand.
Well now, that is an interesting screenie
+1 to everything.
Who was Aerin’s VA? Aerin and Taimi stole the show IMO.
Aerin is voiced by Jon St. John. Taimi is voiced by Debi Derryberry. Glad you enjoyed their performances!
May I ask who voices Belinda? I feel like I’ve heard her before, but can’t place the voice.
Im 100% sure its who ever did the voice for Jimmy Nuetron.
Whenever balinda talks, i cant help but think “jimmy nuetron” over and over and over. Its really distracting, but not their fault.
If you complete the story, itll tell you that there is a blocked area that youll need to get past. But thats for the next episode, so obviously, this isnt all that we are getting.
Also, as for things to do, there are brand new difficult achievements to try to complete that deal only with the story instances, as well as the additional ones for the region alone.
Thats a lot of achievements.
Not interested? Then maybe this chapter just isnt for you. Maybe in the next episode theyll have a giant boss that can be killed over and over, or a new dungeon or something.
With the living story, new content like that is revealed when it makes sense for it to be revealed in the story. So just be patient. Dont want to be? then idk, go play something else. come back when you get all the stuff you wish GW2 had. Its not like there is a subscription fee.
Actually, Cantha was trading with Kryta up to the raising of Orr (such trade is mentioned in Sea of Sorrows), and there’s evidence they’ve still been trading with other nations (in the form of Canthan ships showing up shipwrecked on the Tarnished Coast). They went xenophobic – which may or may not still be the case – but that may have been a case of ’we’ll trade with you, but you’re not allowed to go beyond specified trading areas’ rather than total isolationism.
With Zhaitan dead, there’s little reason for Canthan ships not to start showing up in Lion’s Arch again once word gets around (or at least to Southsun, since that kinda blocks the Sea of Sorrows in now – I really don’t think ArenaNet thought it over much when they chose to place Southsun there) – although depending on how human-supremacist Cantha has become, they might refuse to trade with an interracial city. However, either way, Cantha coming here doesn’t mean we’ll ever get the chance to go there.
Though i would love to visit Cantha, i really dont mind whenever that would be so i wouldnt mind if cantha came in occasionally for some racially segregated trading.
Whom has Cantha been trading with post Orr? there’s really only 2 nations left. Kryta, and Elona, and currently Elona is being ruled over by a big undead kim jon un, and i dont think the Canthans would be too keen on trading with the undead.
Also, anyone else think that there are gunna be more than a few references to the canceled GW1 expansion “Utopia” That was also going to be centered around the Maguuma in this season? Maybe even some outright implementation of the things they were planning on having in the Maguuma in “Utopia”
So, in the trailer the zepherites get shot down, probably from the inquest because of that red golem. It would make sense because inquest are super curious in a bad way and probably want to see what they are hiding. Not to mention the inquest have done and are still doing a ton of research on the dragons, and the zephyrs just might actually have one. (long story short, play GW1, glints got babies, yo)
But what does that mean for Cantha? as far as we know, Cantha only trades with the zephyrs, and being super isolationist, and xenophobic, They likely have no one to trade with now. Does anyone think that this may be an excuse for Cantha to come out and trade with Kryta in order to keep a stable economy? (obvs. not in this season if it were to ever happen)
Trahearne can’t die because thanks to the personal story, we are the second in command of the pact. So if trahearne were to die, we would be the leaders of the pact and that is like openning a giant can of worms for the writing team.
I say mordy should just destroy the pact entirely.
Either the sylvari and the pale tree seeds are products of mordremoth, or “tyria is a living entity and the sylvari are its auto-immune system to the dragons” (which sounds like bullkitten)
Personally, i think story-wise, it is more interesting that the sylvari origin be attached to mordy. I just think them being a race that arose “just because” there are dragons and crap is just silly. An attachment to mordy would justify them being added to the game. otherwise it just seems like they were added because GW2 needed a naturey race to balance things, and the crap origin story of “tyria called upon us and we arose” crap is like shoehorned writing 101 bullkitten. Also, why does no one realize that malycks first memory was waking up under a bridge? he wasn’t born from his tree the way our sylvari were born. I think he isn’t corrupted because of his concussion, he doesn’t remember a dream or anything, hes completely cut off from his tree, so how ever malyck acts, it doesn’t determine the attitude of his tree.
I think there is a 100% chance he will be in the living story season 2 because during the personal story missions with him, he says “we will meet again, valiant” about 459860723408957098 times (it got really frustrating). His current goal is to set out west, up river toward magus falls and find his tree, and oohh guess where we’re going in season 2…
That is if caithes secret isn’t that she killed malyck shortly after he left (that is if he already left in the cannon) so that the other tree doesn’t find us or whatever.
What the heck is caithes secret!! it bugs me!!2 things obviously wrong with your post. 1. Mordremoth is supposed to be an elder dragon, right? Then why are sylvari completely new to tyria, with no record at all of them. 2. Malyck actually is born like all the sylvari, his pod fell into a river flowed down to the bridge, hence why he’s following it back to get to his tree.
His pod fell into a river, it was detached from his tree, As far as we know with our sylvari, their pods are directly connected to the pale tree. His was disconnected, which i think lends to why he isn’t all evil and junk from mordy.
Also, as far as ive seen, the records from the dwarves barely mention any dragon minions besides the ones they dealt with the most, the destroyers and zhaitans undead.
No matter which way you peel the banana, it can always be written for the sylvari to end up being the minions, whether you like it or not. If that’s the direction the devs decide to go, we’ll see. But really, i’d like any kind of origin story that is better than the hippie kitten we have now.
Hello Kristen!
I’ve noticed for faces, most requests are at the end of the spectrum… folks seem to want pretty or creature, not as much in between. Interesting. Out of curiosity, why not? The race was designed to live in the in between. Any thoughts? :}
I think it might be because the faces we have exist in a middle ground, and so when people think of what they’d like to see more of, it’s easier to conceptualize in one direction or another. Since we have kind of “in between” already, people are maybe branching out (har har) into ideas that reflect their preference to skew a little more one way or the other. I love the combination of beauty and alien traits in the sylvari, but I admittedly like the faces best that are creature with a touch of pretty, rather than pretty with a touch of creature. My favorite sylvari face is the male leaf face, which is beautiful, but also unsettling and distinctly inhuman.
I LOVE this face. I wish more faces were this same style where the →entire<- face is completely molded from leaves or other recognizable organic materials.
I must say though, the little antennae on the forehead kill it for me: they clip a lot.

That is cool how they put in an Easter Egg for engineers.
Yes, but why? How does waking a dragon tie to her journal/story?
That has been my problem not just with villains like Scarlet but the Elder Dragons themselves.
Why are they doing what they do? Are the dragons just one-dimensional Evil™ beings that want to destroy the world because they are Evil™?
They want to destroy the world, great. Why? This has not been answered by ArenaNet and we haven’t been given any indication that elder dragons have any motivation deeper than an inanimate thing like asteroid or earthquake.
As for Scarlet, awakening a dragon makes no sense from what we’ve been told about her motivations. Maybe Scarlet became a dragon minion the second she made mental contact and got converted into another of the same boring dragon minions we’ve been seeing before.
The motivation of every single dragon minion in Tyria is “Obey dragon’s will. Do whatever dragon says.” And the dragon’s motivation is nothing but “Destroy everything because I am Evil™.”
I like the other characters in the story like Rox, Braham, Majory, Kasmeer and the rest but ArenaNet really, really needs to think about what it takes to make a good villain. We haven’t seen one yet in GW2.
The way the dragons are described by the dev teams is “forces of nature” like hurricanes, and tornados. etc. That’s pretty much how they operate as well from what i’ve seen.

We already knew her goal was the dragon, we’ve known this for a few patches (certainly since Marionette patch).
But we don’t know why. Was it to awaken as “Tyria’s new master”, or was Scarlet trying to free and slay it in order to defeat her tormented dreams?
“tyrias new master” definitely sounds like she was trying to bring forth tyrias new master, mordremoth. she was essentially the dragons minion because of his control. gosh i hate these theories that she was actually trying to kill him all along, they make no sense.

Yes, but why? How does waking a dragon tie to her journal/story? This is not very clear.
We have this quote:
“But I reject that call. I reject the notion that that I must choose the Dream or be lost to Nightmare. The forces that push us this way or that can be redirected. They can be set against one another to the detriment of both, and now I know how.”But…wouldn’t raising a dragon have the opposite effect, if any?
She didnt wanna raise a dragon untill after she saw into the eternal alchemy, and mordremoth called out to her and ever since that point, she had been battling over her own control and his control ever since, hence her lunacy.
Jormag is up north wreaking havoc, doing his own thing, pretty far from tyria, so hes not a direct threat to us.
Same for Kralk except he is in elona.
Primordius is fighting the dwarves under ground.Theyre all either busy or too far away for tyrians to care unless they had a stake in it, like norn who actually miss their homeland. etc.
And judging by the cinimatic, the leyline went out from lions arch, through the green fields ofthe human lands, then acrossed a wide flat, black area that had trees on the otherside, im guessing it was the Maguuma Wastes, the deserty area of the maguuma.
Then after that its in a jungly area, which is the maguuma jungle of course. So this begs the notion that mordy is pretty far away too. but theres one thing diffeent about mordy. Mordy’s champion, the pale tree is sitting right here in tyria, and right now she doesnt like him very much.
I think mordy is gunna wake up and get some revenge for keeping him from waking up, and betraying him.
That would make most of us care about taking him out.
Or pretty much just the sylvari.Crystal Desert is not in Elona
crystal desert is right north of elona, sure still on the tyria side, but still, its pretty much elona, its a desert and everything!
semantics.
they said after the end of the living story season one they were gonna take a break to give out a lot of living quality improvements. maybe this is one of them.
Why do people think its the underwater dragon? The cinematic pretty clearly shows the ley line erupting from Lion’s Arch, towards, under, and then past Rata Sum. Where would that lead? Into the Maguuman jungle, not into the ocean, or at least not the part of the ocean where we know Bubbles to be.
EDIT: Just watched it again, exact sequence: Drill hits ley line, eruption goes through gendarran/kessex/queensdale (you can tell by the windmills, heaven forbid it go by a more sensible route and involve the Tengu…), under Thaumanova (whoops :P), across some kind of large blank space (can’t tell if a wasteland or water), into some kind of forest, down in to the ground of that forest.
The large dark black area is the Maguuma Wastes i recon. Its the big tan part directly west of divinities reach. further west of it is the official maguuma jungle.
I think they showed it as black because it is just dirt, and the leylines were sucking up all the light so tan = black just like the green grass in the human lands got darker too as the leyline passed by.

Not really all that thrilled that you have to rely on an overflow in some cases to get to the end of a culmination of a year’s worth of story. I loved the Liadri fight, and the Teq. Fight and the Marionette and the Wurm, but those were not required to see the end of the LS. Fairly disappointed this content took that direction. I really like the mechanics of the fights with the mini marionette ladies, but I have done this thing three times now and 1 time my map took down all three with time to spare and I was still not allowed to go in.
you ahve to be attuned to all three colors, red, green, blue.
Theyre ussualy off to the side of the teleporter thingy, or at least they were for the red champion.

So excited with the Kas & Jory story. I’ve had that last scene of them as my desktop background for a while now, ever since I screencapped it on my first play through on Dev servers. swoon
And that battle is awesome!
I’m really curious how you guys are gonna deal with the lesbian relationship with a shipping to China, i mean, they only just recently officially removed homosexuality from the list of mental disorders.
Not nearly enough time for most of the public to catch on and agree.
Jormag is up north wreaking havoc, doing his own thing, pretty far from tyria, so hes not a direct threat to us.
Same for Kralk except he is in elona.
Primordius is fighting the dwarves under ground.
Theyre all either busy or too far away for tyrians to care unless they had a stake in it, like norn who actually miss their homeland.
Or pretty much just the sylvari.

I think what they were going for was to mimic the very first cutscene in GW1, when the unidentified woman tells of beautiful Ascalon on its final day before the searing blows it up.
I caught the similarities pretty quick and sqeed a little bit, i knew right from the beginning music that Lion’s Arch was gunna get gone!
