Straight Outta Kryta [KRTA]
I fart in your general direction
In order to obtain a better feedback, we have joined several threads into one to collect all your suggestions. Thank you!
Seems pretty straight forward…add a simple armor type (light/medium/heavy) filter to the trading post. Why this even needs to be a suggestion and wasn’t part of the design at launch is mind boggling. Combine that with other simple things that seem to be ignored and one starts to wonder if anyone really is listening.
I tend to follow commanders I know and that comes from getting to know the commander. In my experience the commanders seem to work together so there is in essence already a “commander/sub-commander” kind of thing going on. As for the commander interface I have read a number of threads on this. As a few have said it would be nice if ANET actually did something with that (actions speak louder than words here). I can’t speak personally because I have no desire to be a commander. But if I have read a lot about it, surely ANET has too.
Now do you think they were excited about more magic find and the fact that their armor would not take damage!
If they could rez at a waypoint and get back into the battle, fresh, and collect their loot bags, they just might have been. =)
3-ways are always the best
moar moneh for ANET…yesssss…shineyyyy !
Won’t be from me. We will see how many others fall for this money “trick”. It will also be interesting to see if the gold-to-gems exchange rate takes a dive.
Friday night in YBBL was fun, especially that 3-way fight for garrison. I thought we lost it for sure. Just goes to show never give up. =) Hope my fellow Yaks show up the rest of the week in force as well. I know I will be there more often than usual.
*Win or lose, keep up the good fight and have fun.
Figure I would post a quick score update. But not just any score update. A “happy witch on a broom in LA” score update. (see, she is looking away from the score…lol)

I haven’t noticed any lag on YBBL. Than again I am playing with new toons so maybe I’m just not button smashing fast enough yet to notice.
I crashed while in a huge battle at Bay in YBBL when I was on my Thief. It is extremely rare for me to crash. I finally got back in but on my Guardian. Even in several large battles I haven’t had any other issues. Maybe it was the game’s way of telling me to get off my selfish Thief build and get on my heal/support Guardian for zerg night….
Not all of us have. And more specifics as to your situation in the support area may get you farther.
Although annoying, pulling/knockbacks are part of the game. Just be ready for it with your stun breaks/stability and make a run back into the tower. What is irking the heck out of me is being pulled towards the edge of the wall when I am out of LoS. This has happened a few times and I don’t recall this happening prior to the patch. I can’t even shoot down without being on the lip yet I get pulled while standing on the far back of the wall out of LoS. Stupid.
<shrug> I know what coron is talking about cause I’ve seen it myself, even when not in the zerg, a DB tactic when they can’t overwhelm you is to avoid and cap behind you. How does that make for fun PvP?
So you mean to tell me that DB is avoiding the enemy, but still accomplishing the goal of taking a point? Sounds like tactics to me.
Sounds like PvDoor to me.
Only if tsym sits on their rear and doesn’t go after DB. Or are they expecting the enemy just to come to them?

So you mean to tell me that DB is avoiding the enemy, but still accomplishing the goal of taking a point? Sounds like tactics to me. How dare they not rush head first into the enemy!!! Did they not get the memo this is 18th century warfare? I demand everyone lines up in formation toe-to-toe at point blank range of each other!
without score nobody would bother to cap, you have no ideea…
where would you roam without score ?
why would anybody cap supply /towers/keeps ? go to enemy spawn and camp them…
no tactics, organization
There is a difference in saying get rid of the score (which I did not say) and not putting way to much importance in the score. Yaks knows our night crew is small and usually gets 500+ ppt against us versus the larger servers who can field large night crews. That 500+ ppt for several hours adds up quickly. In the morning we are behind by a bunch, especially as the days go by. If I put too much importance in the score I would throw up my hands, give up, and go do something else because we are getting our butt kicked. No. That is not what I do. I go into WvW and look for fun, regardless of the score.
I think some people put to much importance to the score. It’s just a number. Who cares what the score is. I know I don’t. All I care about is when I am in WvW am I having fun at the moment. Who cares if we are up by a million, down by a million, or dead even. I can have fun roaming, in a small group, or even ikittenerg. If I am not having fun at the moment I go to a different area, a different map, or I go do something else.
EDIT: “z e r g” gets censored?! lol

Soooo…give me tools to show off my “you know what”? (since what I want to type just shows up as “kitten” and it’s not even a bad word)
Not trying to troll Yaks Bend. I like you guys and am eagerly waiting the day Maguuma can get into a tier with you guys again…. However, I did see Yaks complaining about night capping in the YB/SoS/DB threads >.>
There will always be a few that do no matter what (on any server someone will complain about anything). But in general we Yaks understand night isn’t our strongest and understand war is war and, as the title says, war is not fair.
It seems that much of the games population doesn’t wvw very much.
Why?1.) The little white rabbits keep killing me.
That really is the only reason for me. I mean see for yourself…
I was a bit tired tonight, but as it was too early to go to bed I thought I would do some WvW. Now I don’t want to go to bed. lol
But, I must get some sleep for work in the morning. Before I do here is a score update.
It’s probably someone using a hack to teleport to the chest’s coordinates. Just report them when you see it.
Easier said than done. I have seen teleporters at resource nodes in PvE. They are there and gone before I can click them than click on their portrait to bring up “report player”. If their portrait would stay up after they moved out of range, it wouldn’t be as hard to report them.
There is no truce. I was at that fight to take SM. Along with that group upstairs we had at least one more group on the ground floor on the other end. That hallway became a hallway of death with DB AoE and our AoE. We were basically a distraction while the upstairs group held and set up. We than pushed from 2 directions.

Fun times in Eternal tonight. But alas I must go to bed. Work in the morning and all. For a second night in a row we rallied to 2nd.

Yaks’ Bend here. I am getting lag spikes in Cursed Shore. Everything freezes in place (though arm/head/environment effects still move) for about 5 seconds, than it catches up. I have not noticed it in other zones yet and I have not noticed it in Cursed Shore before (though it has been a few days since I have been to that zone).
I should note that I am not even near any big event when this happens (I’ve stopped doing those due to mainly the lag, and lesser so due to culling). I have been in the area where Plinx chain goes (and I was the only one doing that for most of it).

Here’s TERROR’s reset recap video on Yak’s Bend
Had an epic fight at hills!
Wow. I didn’t realize the fight for Hills went on for that long at that intensity. Wish I joined that fight earlier. Instead I was off taking back supply camps to limit your supply to rebuild. Fun, but not quite as intense. lol Not sure how much longer it went on after the vid ended before we finally took it. But setting a portal up behind the defenders line and saying “surprise” was kind of fun. =)
By your logic, losing = fun? No. YB wants to win, and come hell or high water we will do so. Get ready because we won’t quit. Unless you bring more people than us, then we will move to another map or something, but you know what I was getting at.
I don’t look at it as “win=fun” or “lose=fun” or “lose=not fun”. I look at it if I am having fun when I am playing. The score doesn’t dictate if I am having fun. And yes I said the same thing during matches where we blew away the other teams. YB has always put up a good fight. The score doesn’t always reflect that due to reasons that have been stated before.
Ahhh….Friday reset. Good times in YBBL.
Just a quick score update before I head off to bed. And by the looks of the ppt atm it looks like I’m not the only one. lol

At the lower tiers, where there is a disparity of players, is to normalize the max number of players based on the server with the lowest population in the server.
So instead of 200 v 200 v 75 it’d be more like 125 v 125 v 75. Not exactly a pretty solution, but I’m sure you aren’t drawing player interest when they get stomped again, again, and again. Once you start keeping towers and pushing offensives, more people will join, and you can increase your artificial cap.
That’s great for the low pop server, but sucks for the other server(s) who can’t get into WvW because the pop cap is limited to the lowest common denominator. It’s a no-win situation. And how would you do it? Overall pop? What about the disparity in times of day? For example, my server has great numbers during North American prime time, but we have almost no coverage during night (and thus we lose in points to the night coverage teams who get 600 point ticks for several hours). In that scenario it would suck for everyone because the pop cap would be so low, or it wouldn’t work because times of day isn’t considered.
That math is a bit……funny. I tend to watch the scores across all servers like a sports nut watches the scores on ESPN. lol I also have a friend/co-worker on SoF. I find it interesting that SoF can blow away their competition, yet lose ranking points.
Ever since the reset/patch I have noticed that the game has taken longer to load, maps have taken longer to load, and the UI takes longer to load. With the UI it is especially slow the first time (such as the first time I open inventory, or friends lists, etc.)
I “could” at some point spend more money towards this game. But seriously, when I noticed that condition damage didn’t show up in the log I had to do a triple take, making sure I wasn’t just blind. I don’t know how many times I go to look at the combat log to figure out what killed me (you know, an attempt to learn something), add up the damage done, and scratch my head because the damage done totals less than my health.
D/D eles can be tough. I came upon one at a supply camp who had just soloed all the NPCs. I engaged her and we had a good 1v1 fight. It was looking like it would come down to the last hit (or the first to royally mess up). But 1 other team mate of mine showed up and we finished her off. Such is the life of open warfare. I still wonder how that fight would have gone if noone else showed up.
I don’t usually come across much 1v1 though. If I am solo I usually run into an enemy group, or eventually run into a small group of teammates I end up hanging out with.
Yar…probably a Fight Club event.
ya CD pretty much whipes the board while YB mostly sleeps. Not complainin but it’s a kick in the pants
Yap, when two servers that have different prime times fight it boils down to how much coverage they have to slow the other server down at their prime time. It seems that CD’s NA crew has a better time slowing down YB than the YB oceanic crew has slowing down the CD’s prime time crew.
That is an unfortunate reality of WvW right now, especially for people who chose not to move to super servers before the free transfers were done. I really wish they would use WvW participation at different times to match servers up instead of the point system they have/are introducing next week
Yar. It is what it is. I try not to put too much stock in what the scores are. Bottom line is when I am in WvW is it fun? The answer has mostly been yes.
As for me, I prefer not to update the score here as I feel it does not accurately reflect how hard the servers have fought, but more of who having more resource at its disposal to hold as many objectives as possible when the point tally is resetting at any given time.
I enjoy the fights these few days, all 3 of us still have fight in us & refuse to let the recent circumstances drag us down. You folks are AWESOME
In reading your sig, what is a “surprise butts” build. And after reading that I don’t think I want to ask you about “pickle surprise”. On second thought, nvm. I fear the two are related…. lol
The “next matchup” on http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA doesn’t really mean much. The top of the page states this: “At the end of this matchup, all ratings will be reseted (set to 1,500). ANet has not yet announced the math so the site will use the old formula and the ‘next matchup table’ may be innacurate.”
Regardless, the matchups should be interesting. And if we do get SF my coworker will hate me for a week, especially since I couldn’t get her to transfer to Yaks. lol
The rankings are all messed up anyways, with our without a reset. With all the server transfers some strong servers have been weaken and some weaker servers are now stronger. ANET also said the math behind how the rankings work is changing. So until ANET reveals the new math we really can’t come to a conclusion.
What the hell happened to CD? I haven’t been WvWing much these past few weeks, but we’re getting rolled right now. Did everyone take their balls and go home?
We’re still fighting, but have you seen the size of Kaineng’s ****? It’s HUGE!
Strangely enough, a group of Yaks came over to our BL instead of liberating their completely blue BL. Maybe they thought the music in CDBL is better. Or they got the Yak Parade date/venue wrong.
See ya in WvW soon, Ohoni! For Freedom!!!!
It may have been full. Last night I tried to get into YBBL but was full. So I tried other zones and than tried CDBL and got in. Than again maybe it’s just green means go? =)
This happened to me a while ago. I turned the sound quality down and the issue hasn’t happened again. I also don’t notice a decrease in sound quality.
Fun night, but I must get some sleep. Besides, I’m sick of seeing “meow” on my screen. My cat IRL must have known something was up as he has been annoying this evening. lol
Wait wait wait…when did we claim we were the best ever? It’s constantly guys like you telling us we are worth nothing other than our numbers.
The problem is that they’re so used to hearing stuff like that from low Tier Servers moving quickly up the Tiers that they still hear it even though it’s not being done! We must forgive the mix-up, it is understandable.
I think this answers something for me. I really don’t read these forums much so maybe that is why I DON’T see Kaineng “chest thumping” (because I haven’t “heard” about all those other servers doing it).
Personally I am looking forward to seeing Kaineng and a little concerned with their Oceanic presence. Their Oceanic presence reminds me of Dragonbrand and Dragonbrand runs up the points during North America night time. Not complaining, just stating a fact.
In the past I have soloed a champion mob or two. Now I just got my but handed to me by dolls…..
ANET won’t win this one. Some people think more information is needed, others think less information should be given. But the beauty of providing information is that it’s up to the individual if they want to read it or not.
Well, I know they are reading this, just don’t feel like responding to us I guess. I would say how I know they are reading it but it would probably get deleted….
Really? I was actually giving some props to ANET. I take it back now. If this was a subscription I would seriously consider dropping it. As it is not I will enjoy the free game, but I will not be putting any more money for gems for a very long time. I was looking forward to some of the xmas costume ideas and stuff. Guess I will just have to live with not having those. Those locked chests will continue to pile up too.
My patience was almost zero after Saturday. I thought I would give this one more try today, Sunday. Wtf was I thinking. The event still has culling issues, and it is far away from any waypoint. Worse yet, they removed the nearest waypoint!!!!! Well, nearest viable waypoint. The nearest waypoint has no bridge to the mainland to get back.
So I followed the captain the the treb, we had a 5 minute fight, we won, drove the legendary away, the NPCs had a convo, said some stuff and than said to board some ship. Ummm…we are on a ship but it’s not moving. Right ship? What is next after we drove the Karka away? I wish ANET wasn’t so friggin cryptic. Plus given ANETs record, I can’t help but think this is just another bugged event. My patience has been used up. My faith is gone. I no longer look forward to any special events.
I haven’t done a lot of sPvP so I am starting to “learn” about it. The gear skins you get from glory chests is soulbound? Am I missing something? I spend glory points (which is account bound) on a glory chest which has a random chance at skins. Today I bought a gold chest on my warrior and got medium gear. Why? If it was account bound ok but it’s not. If I knew what I was getting I would purchase them on the appropriate toon. This just doesn’t seem right. Also, I have a Thief and a Ranger. I don’t remember what I got on what toon. What if I got gloves on both? The locker only holds one. Again this just doesn’t seem right.
You are actually making them win by playing the game right.
Stay with the main zerg, always help ressing, attack a few times if you see a downed player, stay on the point until it’s capped for +10.
That’s how you get points.
I do rez when possible. I do attack/finish downed players. Staying with the zerg and waiting until it’s capped for +10 tend to be contradictory since the zerg doesn’t always stay. But I do tend to either stay with the zerg or wait a bit after capturing a point to scout the area.
How are points computed/determined at the end of a spvp match? I ask because I am always at or near the bottom although I am in taking stuff, defending stuff, always in a battle. And it’s not like I am behind by only a few points. The top people have 2-3 times as many points. So what am I doing wrong? I didn’t ask before but now it seems I need to get something called “top stat awarded” for the pvp daily which at this rate is never going to happen. I don’t care if I am top points or not but that daily pvp thing now requires it.
And now there is lag in Caledon Forest….
