This is called tactics and using the terrain to your advantage. In this case the terrain is a portal. Figure out a way to negate or counter that tactic. Hint: not fighting in that situation is a valid tactic.

Mags showed some love in BG Bay a couple resets ago when we did this. Someone was bored. lol

I am on FA and have not seen many friendly folks on in the past few days. A few here and there. But that MAG blob is unreal! However if I had 20 peeps with proper builds and gear that understood open field fights we could easily defeat them or BG.

Any top tier server is going to have blobs just because they have the population to do so and people gravitate towards the tag. But in my experience on Mag the main blob is K-train on EBG. On the BLs there is usually 1 or 2 fight guilds (sometimes 3) on each BL (except maybe desert, ugh) numbering 10-25 each. The fight guilds do their own thing but will join forces in response to the blob from the other server(s). This is during the week. Reset night is it’s own animal.

Im on YB, and I HATE t1. HATE it so bad, I wanna transfer, but dont wanna pay the fee, so I simply dont WvW much any more. Yea YB does Ktrain, have to, facing the mag, or bg blobs in the times I play, we are just getting steam rolled. I hate one sided fights, I hate being on the winning and loosing side of em. Its no fun. So we hit bl and ktrain, really not much else to do.

I was on YB since launch. I took a few months off of playing before HoT (YB was T3/4 at that time). When I came back for HoT YB was T1. Ugh. I joined a guild (KRTA) without knowing what server it was on (I was doing mainly PvE so it didn’t matter). I liked the people in KRTA and with YB in T1 I went to Mags (which was T3 at the time). Now I’m back in T1. Ugh. But, being in an awesome guild with great people to talk with and who can field a decent size group for WvW makes being in T1 more than tolerable. The skill lag when it is 50+ vs 50+ vs 50+ is still really annoying though. Ugh.

The key is “non-profit”. Movie makes are making movies for profit. But I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know all the finer details. At least one of his vids is blocked in the US (rightfully or wrongfully).

Was actually a fun reset night. Mags/DR is holding their own. I’m sure we will fall behind in PPT over the night hours though. But the fights in BG BL were fun.

Mags has its fair share of trolls. I’m glad you could see that not everyone on Mags is a troll. Been fun getting to know some new people. Good luck in where ever you may go.

I haven’t seen anyone yell at roamers for flipping camps/sentries if that is your concern. As for finding fights, that depends more on the other two servers. Some servers we have played like to siege up and hide behind walls. That being said the fight guilds do tend to find fights.

Looks like someone figured out they tripped over the cord and plugged the server back in. =)

Don’t do a repair. It takes too long.

Delete GW2’s temporary file so it has to regenerate the file. You’ll only lose your graphics and sound settings but that’s it.

It fixed it for me.

Go here: C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2 and delete the “Local.dat” file.

After last nights build update I was either getting the error or stuck on the load screen after selecting a character. I got home just now and the same thing was going on. I did the above suggestion and I was able to get in. I’m getting a bit tired of wondering if I will be able to log in after every update or at anytime I want to play really.

I too am downloading the game on to a new hard drive after not playing for a while. My download speed has been hovering around 100kb/sec for several hours now. This is the slowest download speed I have ever seen. I even disabled the firewall and anti-virus to see if that did anything. No change.

Well this is a stupid match up, just saw Yak’s Bend running around with about 5 Omegas and about 30 people in and otherwise empty SF bl. I’ve ran around solo for 2 hours now and only found like 3 people to fight. On the plus side I guess I can have 24/7 outnumered buff

I will have to talk to our server. We are know for our golem rushes. Only having 5 will hurt our reputation. We can’t be having that!

I know. How dare we try to defend supply camps on reset night when we are trying to upgrade our keeps (which, btw, require supply to do). And we like the +5 supply buff too so we want to keep it. =)

First night I have been able to play some WvW and as soon as I get into EB I see SBI spawn camping. So sad. But I do have to thank you for the loot bags.

And yes I know there are 3 exits from spawn but that is not the point.

Also, the YB on here seem classy, if you could remind your servermates that spamming /laugh isn’t classy, and after steamrolling a considerably less populated server with a zerg and golems, they should be /saluting us for trying to defend at all instead of pve-ing for the next week.

Please remind your servermates of the same. I had to turn emotes off due to laugh spamming by HoD while they were trying to take Anz and another time trying to take SM. Both attempts at those times failed which confused me by the laughing.

Every time we retake a keep we see a golem, or tow, full health alphas and 1/2 health omegas etc etc. Like they are disposable underwear and you use them and throw away :/

I don’t think that is what is being said exactly. I said “likely” but nothing is set in stone. A lot can happen within the next few weeks. And rather it’s Yaks Bend, Kain, IoJ, or BP it’s likely anyone sitting in that 13-15 spot will steamroll over the rest of Silver League, with only a few servers giving a challenge.

Anet needs to pull a quick one on this, and use rankings from a month ago – before the announcement and gamesmanship started.

That won’t change the situation, just the servers involved. People have already transferred so if you get a server that is today now Gold material (due to transfers) when they were clearly Silver a month ago, they will just steamroll Silver. But than again with 12 rank differentials there will be a couple of servers that will always steamroll and a couple of servers that will always get steamrolled.

I am NOT looking forward to league play. If we end up in Gold we will get steamrolled. If we end up in Silver we will likely steamroll. Neither is fun. Now if ANET went with 4 leagues of 6 I would be more interested.

I tend to do the same thing as Blix. When I want to change things up I will change out accessories or runes first, than armor if required. I tend to like P/T/V weapons though.

The main reason I sometimes play a D/P zerker thief in WvW….because it irks people off, as evident by this (and other) threads. I also played a Blood DK in WoW-Cata for the very same reason. But in playing D/P thief I also learned a few things about them and can better counter them. And speaking of stealth, the 2nd funniest thing is seeing a thief stealth, only to reappear a couple of seconds later in a downed state.

I do like this idea. Add to that 1v1 maybe even a GvG option. There seems to be plenty of people who want some kind of formal GvG thing.

Honestly I expect the T1 servers to win. Every server can’t be even and there will be a “strongest team”. But only 2 leagues of 12 teams? That is just stupid. Should be 4 leagues of 6 teams. They would be more evenly matched with some upset potential.

Not sure. But we have been matched up against DB before. We got slaughtered each time and look to again this time. And DB is “only” rank 6 so can’t wait to go up against those T1 servers.

Well Yaks started off slow last weekend too, which was a surprise because we usually start out hot and cool off. But than again we weren’t playing against a T2 server. Sure can’t wait to go up against a T1 server during league play!

Every time I read “this is going to break up the zerg”, I haven’t seen it stick. Maybe this time is different. But I am at the point where I will believe it when I see it, and when it stays that way for weeks (not just initially).

Less experienced players continue to complain about direct damage builds (well thief and warrior anyway) which has been fairly well balanced in duels for a while but hardly notice condi damage changes (necro, engi, mesmer, warrior) which has come on strong in the duel scene. Changes in in duels and GvG often come to dominate the general WvW landscape as the builds become more refined.

Probably because condi damage doesn’t show up in the combat log. When they die quickly they look at the combat log and see that thief backstab or that warrior 100b for a ton of damage.

Speaking of irony…I find it ironic how you say its a video game and we’re here to relax and play with integrity, and to quote someone else saying “it’s only a game man”, yet you admit to being mad and calling out a server. How is that relaxing? Or how does that show integrity? And if you believe “it’s only a game man”, why start this thread in the first place.

And don’t label a whole server because of how some people may act from it. Some people just have bad days too. I have some examples of CD players grouping/chatting with our players and not to ask how they were doing either. That doesn’t mean the entire CD server is full of bad people.

After reading this I am excited to jump back into some WvW for the night. Maybe I will start a golem rush just for giggles. Bah. Who am I kidding. I’m more of a loner/scout/support. I’ll let the commanders lead/organize. But I’ll pitch in for some golems. =)

But seriously, to call out a single server is just funny. I’ve been on the receiving end of those rushes more time than I have been on the offensive side. Your point may have been made stronger if you just used generic examples instead of calling out servers.

A few days ago I took down a thief outside a tower we were in the process of taking over. As I went to finish him off we took the tower and he suddenly popped to full health and made the “I leveled” animation/sound. I can only assume when we took the tower the “failed to defend tower” popped for him but gave him enough xp to level. Funny. But so annoying. I wanted my loot bag. lol
