Hats off to everyone in EB stopping NSP trying to ninja AR keep.
They were at inner gate with 30+ and gate being around 25%.
DR managed to flank the outer wall and completely demolish all the NSP players.
Amazing fight from both sides.I have loved this matchup and hope we don’t move up anytime soon. DR still needs ALOT of work.
That wasn’t our plan to take that keep really. We wanted to take pressure off our section of the map. So one of commander went there with a zerg to rush it and it worked b/c pretty much all DR came to it.
We do this a lot..Hence why we send a small force to take stuff in your BL so you will send guys back there.
P.S. DR nice try on taking our keep(NSP about 2 hour ago or so) with greater numbers :P

A server that does well is going to need both small groups and people willing to try to lead and coordinate large groups. Showing total disdain for the players on your own server isn’t going to be too helpful.
You can run small groups and have a positive impact on the match for your server while still finding fun fights.
What time you on? Would love to face you guys. I run a small group with Meow/soul members and we always beat numbers twice or three times the size of us. We usually run in the morning.
I like it when other thieves run away from me. I just /dance or /laugh when they run away.
Apparently there is some major design issue with the game engine that prevents the sort of auto-loot function everyone (including the devs who commented on this during beta) would like to see.
I made a thread like this when GW2 was in beta and Dev basically said that.
They are much better but still need some improvements.
What profession actually just wants Power/Toughness/Vit gear anyway? I wouldn’t use it on the classes I have at 80, anyway (Necro/Warrior). I doubt I’ll ever use any of my badges on my Mesmer or Theif when they’re 80, either.
Guardians? That’s all I can think of that might…
You do know its not just gear they sell for badges. They sell siege and also that axe for a legendary weapon
Right now, what really grinds my gears, is how they can finish you off or another player while in stealth. Now that is some big BS.
Engineer can shrink and finish off people being able to evade all attacks. Also any class with Haste can finish someone off in like 1sec before they can do anything about it.
Saw a video the other day of a thief climbing into towers and keeps at will and soloing them by himself.

I play a thief and I honestly wouldn’t mind at all if HS got a heavy nerf, or alternatively require more initiative. I used it briefly when I started and haven’t touched it since.
I play a thief as well, no main-hand dagger. A nerf would have no effect me at all. The main reason i don’t want to get rid of it is I love LOLing at “hertseeker noobs” and killing them shortly after. It’s only an issue when you are greatly outnumbered and at that point any burst build is a problem.
I run D/D so it would directly affect me, but any thief worth anything knows there are numerous ways to kill more effectively then HS. I understand why people would complain about it, but it’s easily evaded and counter attacked.
People also complain a lot about perma-stealth thieves, what? It’s not like they spawn and can instantly have permanent stealth, it requires setup and is not easily reset during combat (if you are playing against someone who knows how to play).
On a side note, if you are not level 80 and fully geared with a good understanding of game mechanics, you shouldn’t even be allowed to post a complaint about something being OP, in my opinion.
This is why i love pain inventer for my asura.
The golem bubbles can also block siege. I had to do it once b/c the one golem we had left was at 4k health so i just blocked our treb from the enemy’s.
I got to admit our early morning crew is getting little stronger at this point. We held strong in EB after we took SM with a golem rush.
Voleka was painful though.

I usually never go with the zerg b/c i don’t feel like i did something. I usually run with a small group(5 people or so)and if we take out a small zerg or take a keep under there noise then it feels like i did something for the server.
Wow, I tell you one thing NSP, you set your sights on something you get it. Even at the cost of all else!
We took your trebs down at SM soo many times only to see 2 placed for every one taken down. Every push you made and fell back you came back with even more bodies. The golems you brought to their dooms fell only too see more a half hour later. It was funny that the whole time you tried to take it from us I’m pretty sure AR and GoM had your whole borderlands once each.
I would like to thank all of Anvil rock that helped me hold onto Overlook for the 9hrs I was on (12-9pm). When NPS finally took it and instantly set up a large number ballistas at our spawn many of our guys were pissedoff, but I was happy. We did great
Can I ask one thing? Do you organise your player base to flood one map at a time? I’m not judging the tactic, it obviously works for you guys. The reason I ask is because every time I have hit a map you were not running I have been able to easily 4man your hills and bay without intervention.
We have too. Our WvW community to small to have large amount of players on each map. We usually run small teams in other BL to help but that’s it.
Ah and here are folks complaining without understanding what’s going on. It’s not a 50% increase. It’s an increase from 33% to 50% for a trait that is rarely used.
You guys realize less then 5% of thieves take this trait right? It’s in our weakest trait line and the only thieves that go into that line are those that use it to build up their vigor for mad dodges.
You won’t see backstab builds use it. You won’t see pistol/pistol builds use it. You might see the odd sword/dagger or pistol dagger use it….but they’d be giving up their extra dodging ability in fights.
Really the only build you’ll see using it are the annoyance/stay alive builds. Those rare 0/0/30/30/10 or 0/0/10/30/30 builds.
If they had put this trait in the Stealth Arts line….then you might have actually seen it get more use.
For example I am a P/P S&B thief. I’m a 10/30/15/0/15 build. It’s built around Pistol critting and keeping a high initiative pile. For me to take that trait I would have to either A) Drop all damage on a steal along with a drop in power.
Not max out critical strikes which means I wouldn’t get Executioner (+20%dmg to those under 50% health). C) Not go into stealth arts which means stealths last 1 second less and I don’t get Shadow’s Embrace (clears conditions every 3 seconds in stealth) or D) Drop Thrill of the Crime which gives Fury/Might/Swiftness to you and allies for 10s on a steal..part of my buffing of steal to dmg/give initiative and buffs)…..and I’d lose 3 initiative off my total initiative.
So tell me where does that OP trait fit in?

There are better traits in there then the speed buff for stealth.
Why would they have the chest spawn on the other side?I missed out on it twice already. Arenanet care to explain this? Couldn’t it just spawn up next to that asura?
Do I really need to give other examples of thief skills that can do over 30k damage in a few seconds? Really? Lets see…. Unload and cluster bomb comes to mind.
These are the comments I expected. Trying to prove anything in these forums is meaningless. People always have an excuse. I’m just giving my opinion on the class.
My main is a thief and I would be fine with nerfs, how many other thieves can say that and still be confident with playing the class?
It actually isn’t hard to prove something, go make a video of yourself doing 30 thousand damage in under 3 seconds on the PvP dummies while using heart seeker, if it’s as easy as you claim then you should be able to do it right? Ah, but it’s just an opinion now and you have no proof, which is fine but you shouldn’t be posting it phrased as a fact. It isn’t a fact, it’s your opinion and everyone has one.
/agree I would love to see this 30k damage in a few secs. We could use a nerf in some area but a 30% direct damage nerf is going to kill this class.
I run up to a group of enemy’s that have a cata on a cliff hitting a wall. Usually i just steal and then use daggerstrom…BUT this time i hit steal twice i guess and feared them off the cliff.
Instant death.

For my thief i had around 14k health once and was somewhat 70-80% glass cannon. My heartseeker was never that close to that amount of damage to anyone.
DS is one of my favorite thief skills to run into actually. especially being a sword/focus mesmer. most of them are the try hards that think they’re invulnerable so i just port to them and blurred frenzy them down in 4 hits while remaining untouched.
My main toon is a Warrior in full Knights armor/trinkets, Soldier runes, with 30 in Toughness and Vitality lines (shout heal build, of course).
My new favorite activity is straight-up tanking Thieves who are Daggerstorming and melee’ing them down in the process. Gives me much joy.
Wish you could teach other people that. We have people saying DS is OP when you can easily kitten the thief using it.
Woot!! as of right now NSP is second.
The downed stealth power has a short cooldown which is also frustrating.
Then swing your weapon? When they stealth in downed state they usually in same spot. Stealth doesn’t mean immune to damage. I have been downed so many times and that stealth doesn’t work b/c the enemy just keep aoe/attacking the spot i stealth.

Sorry, but I run a d/d bunker ele with 20k health and all utility slots filled with condition removals and escapes. I should be able to survive a burst! But when a thief is capable of doing over 20k in less than 1 second, something is very very wrong.
Would love to see some facts on this 20k in less than 1 second. As a tanky condition thief, i have yet to see a Glass cannon thief downed me in 1 second with 19k health.
A good skilled D/D ele. Pretty much any skilled class is annyoing.

Here on NSP we try to do something in the morning but only a few guilds are on (Meow,Soul,TMT). We aren’t big in numbers but we do a lot of ninja cap. Since we don’t have the numbers we try doing any sort of tactic we can to win lol.
I’m a thief and i love fighting Glass cannon thieves. I do the condition damage/tanky style thief and man do i usually own them. Once they try to burst me down i just heal up and place a bunch of stacks of bleed on them and watch them die so fast.
OP have you seen a skilled D/D ele lol what thief?
Soooooo 8 of us in NSP held off a DB zerg then a DH zerg on Bluelake tower right now. This was in DB BL. Just want to say good job.
I think it comes down to that classes can easily buff them self for a short time to get incredible damage.

I would like to know why Anet would put in a class that can tank a whole team of 5 for 2 to 3 minutes in a game that is supposed to be all balanced classes. Elementalists can’t do this. Warriors can’t do this. Why are Guardians the only one?

I agree with weapons and armor. When i started looking at the armor for a lvl80 it felt like a last minute lazy design to rush the game out.

Why don’t they just remove stealth all together? I mean without it thieves are still OP right? I mean we have the highest HP pool and we wear extra heavy armor.

These are the kinda of discussion we need. Tired of hearing that both side say that class is OP.
Man epic fight this morning on EB. All we had was NSP keep and we held it forever being really outmanned.
We really need more Night/morning guilds for NSP.
Was this within the span of a second. Since combat log doesn’t track time it may have been a backstab ((Wait for revealed)) then an instant stealth like blinding powder or such, due to culling this may have looked like one stealth.
