Sorry, your suggestions suck. I like my high dps guard just fine the way it is. Why do you want to break professions? If your class isn’t desired in a dungeon, roll another one that is part of the meta.
I’m all for improving the utility of professions in dungeons and group PVE, but this is an asinine route to doing that.
we just need mobs in pve like enemies in fractal ascalon . op range dmg which stays on RANGE (mags), heavy rushers (warriors), healers(monks) etc. in this way you can take of course 5 zerkers but you will wipe many many times and more efficient will be taking healing guard or condii necro to weak enemies not only zerker warriors
Wtf are you talking about. We always take 5 zerkers to fractals and do quite fine with no wipes in the ascalon fractal. Maybe the problem here is that you are running with a subpar group.

Bolt doesn’t work, Eternity does. Too bad as Bolt was the best stacking in the game. I also agree that you should not have made WatchKnight for that, there is a better option.
Also I have been told that only you see the stacking, and no one else does (they see the normal aura), so you might not even be sucking fps form anyone. Harmless fun.
They will see it if you stack in there presence. But if they are out of the field of view they should not see it.
I have 1600 and was thinking of getting the infinite watchnight tonic also.
Does it or does it not still work?
From what I’ve seen, at least with Bolt and Eternity, you don’t even need a tonic. Just a couple of weapon swaps from the equipment page and the Bolt aura sticks on my character, even when I sheath my weapon.
Also, the old method was not to use the watchnight tonic, it has a cooldown. You are supposed to use the infinite krait tonic, which you have to craft, because it has no cooldown.
While they obviously should allow us to pull runes and sigils out of wvw armor, I’m kinda surprised this is still popping up. Haven’t people learned by now to stop buying karma and wvw armor except for the skins?
Or, you could just experiment with different builds using exotic armor, since it’s pretty much dirt cheap. About the only expensive thing when experimenting with builds is sigils/runes, and even then you can usually find a cheaper alternative.
At least let me put this kitten in guild bank or something. I don’t have any room to store this kitten and many players probably have much much more this stuff. I would make more ingots, but i am scared that anet give us some sink where to dump all raw stuff.
Well part of your problem is you can only store stacks of 250 mats, you need to upgrade your storage.
Also, you have 92 bag slots. I can’t even imagine playing with less than the 160 available. If I could upgrade that even more with more bag slots and 30 slot bags or something, I would.
Also, how many extra bank slots do you have?
Ummm… no. Not unless they also give those of us that do not need the stuff a way to get rid of it besides destroying it. Over and over and over and…
Ascended gear is meant to be a bit difficult to get. If you don’t want the difficulty in getting mats, buy exotics.
Because omg it’s so tough to delete stuff from your inventory. I end up with multiple stacks of emp shards every single day due to the many dungeon paths I run, but you won’t catch me complaining cause I’m not lazy and I just delete them. And I also realize not everyone else runs as many dungeons as I do so they don’t end up with as much of this material.
Not sure how other engineers feel but personally I don’t think engineers currently benefit from Legendary weapons aesthetics wise.
I never have my pistol/shield or rifle out. Always have a kit in hand and therefore have no way to show off my hard work in game. I can’t think of a way around it but I do find it quite disapointing.
Roll a new class, or stop using kits.
Your footsteps still show up correct? Auras still show?
No – it would make ele’s too OP and they are already OP.
Ele’s already have 4 separate skill trees they can use with one set of weapons and that is = to the other professions having 4 sets of weapons to switch to. Wait – they only have 2, so no – you want ele’s to have 8 and the others still to have 2 – that would be OP, even if it was out of combat.
Every profession has a weakness in their builds, and that is why the game is set up the way it is. Having more than one weapon for an ele to swap to would mean that weakness would be gone. That is not fair and that is not balanced.
Your argument has about 0 merit right here. It’s an OOC weapon swap. Anyone can already do this by opening their inventory or hero panel. They’re only asking for an OOC weapon swap due to the fact that your offhand (and this goes for all classes) often times ends up somewhere random in your bags, and when some of us have 160 slots it can easily take a while to find when your bags are near full.
It’s because there are two data centers which separately hold the account’s information. One is in Europe and one is in the USA. Because there are two account data holding sites, this means the two types of accounts can’t share the same map.
Thanks, Captain Obvious.
The point is that this division is artificial and ANet should make it go away.
If you wanted to play with American friends, you should have chosen NA instead of EU. We have several Brits, Middle Eastern, and New Zealanders in our guild who we play with on a regular basis because they chose to play on NA servers.
Also, you can just buy a 2nd account as someone else previously mentioned, and have both an NA account and an EU account.

I guess we should have qualifiers too though. So we could have 3 rT teams, 2 DnT, an SC, another dungeon guild team, and an underdog team (like team RP) and have them do it as a match. It would be fun !
I don’t see what the point of this entire thing if you are just going to limit it to multiple teams from the top speed-running guilds. You’re automatically excluding a lot of really solid players and guilds just because they don’t hold records or post a lot of youtube videos. A qualifier should be exactly that – any team can participate and if they qualify they get to compete. What you are describing is an invite-only exclusive competition.
Also, it should be one team per guild….. they pick their best 5.
That was not the point of that post which was like 100 posts back. Please use context.
I don’t care who is in the qualifiers. Back there we were talking about an initial event to get the idea started, where the participants would most likely be apart of the community here.
So because I’m just now reading the thread, I shouldn’t respond to posts unless they are on the most recent page of the thread or something? It’s not like I just read your comment and ignored the ones prior to it….
I realize that you were essentially planning on what is essentially a beta run of the entire idea, which makes perfect sense. Sorry if your use of ‘qualifier’ threw me off. Even the dev called it an ‘invitational’, which is what it started to sound like, rather than an open competition where anyone could sign up and compete.
You always seem like such a nice person, then someone adds a comment and you leave a snarky reply.
Anyways, good luck with your event!

It’s good that they fixed this bug, I’ve seen it myself trying to get harpy feathers, but to avoid these types of situations why don’t you just buy like, 4 stacks at one time? I typically buy 2 stacks at a time of consumables like this, ogre pet whistle, skale venom, etc.
kitten why did I have to craft… Infinite Light before I decided to make another Legendary..
That’s a good question So many valuable mats totally wasted.
Anyways, champ bags are the easiest way to get skillpoints. I have several full stacks I haven’t even consumed sitting in my bank from running dungeons.
Same trait choices yes if we are to believe that no class is left behind. IT will do nothing to make any class op over the other and will in fact balance the classes properly. I’ve given ample examples of how they can do this.
Also, it’s not whining to expect a company to deliver on their statements for their product. When they say that no class is left behind in combat that it doesn’t matter which class you bring to the battlefield I fully expect that to be a reality as a customer especially since it’s coming up on the 2 year mark. Not to mention that there isn’t even their own trinity in the game as it stands right now in PVE, CC is nonexistant against bosses and Support is focused on only two classes at the moment properly. If you spent the time checking my history you’d notice that there are plenty of suggestions over the past two years submitted to fix the problems that combat has in this title and you’d know that I already do have a max level guardian. Your name calling isn’t going to change the fact that balance doesn’t exist in this game, nor will it destroy my mature and valid point. Nice try tho.
I won’t argue against your problems with CC. Support, on the other hand, is provided by all professions, not just one or two. Each profession brings a variety of support skills, be it blinds, aegis, aoe condition clears, reflects, or buffs for improved damage.
Some professions may be more desired than others in certain situations, and this is why you have the ability to level more than 1 character. Need reflects and protections? I bring a guardian. Need to stack might? I bring my ele. Need stealth and blinds? I bring my thief. You seem to desire professions that will allow you to sub out one profession for another without any noticeable effect, which is just ridiculous.
I don’t need to negate your “valid and mature point”, you do this quite well on your own. You rolled a jack-of-all-trades profession that isn’t going to excel in any one area (except vuln stacking) that is the engineer, and now are upset it can’t do the same things a guardian does. Puh-leeze.
Yes which then removes conditions from everyone within range. And you’re still missing the point, where on the Engineer traits line is there an option for that? At best we have the ability to drop tiny elixirs or sometimes manage not to get stunned out of using our 3-4 button AOE heal or manually overcharge a turret before it’s destroyed in 2 seconds.
Are you really trying to say that two different professions – guardian and engi – should have access to the exact same types of skills and traits? Wouldn’t that mean they are basically the same profession with different appearances and animations?
They are supposed to be balanced, but that does not mean that all professions should have a condi clear every 10 seconds, or an aoe aegis-like block.
If you want access to skills and traits thats guardians have, then roll a frickin guardian instead of whining about what you don’t have on your engi.
It doesn’t have to be good… it just has to be UNIQUE to the birthday gift, and it just has to be useful or have some variance in drops like GW1 minis.
Giving “auto level 20 scrolls” to people after 12 months is just…. stupid, completely stupid, utterly stupid, and ridiculously stupid.
The scrolls drop from Achievement Chests as well.
I have 9 of those scrolls that I’m never going to use, and I have 9 characters at 80….
As long as they don’t give out a stupid and useless item like that again, I’ll be happy.
Some of us love these scrolls for auto-level to 20, since we actually invested a lot of time into just a few characters instead of banging out a metric ton of them and still have only played a few classes.
So keep the level 20 scrolls! If people don’t want them they can delete them.
But just like someone else says. You have to arrive 1 hour early…
This is what needs changing, not the dynamics of the Teq fight.
Yeah, ’cause who in their right mind ever arrives early for anything important?
There’s a huge difference between arriving 5-10 minutes early and arriving 30 minutes to an hour early. I can’t think of one job interview or other important real life event where I felt it was necessary to show up an hour early and stand around.
Ohai! This thread again.
Sorry mate, but Tequatl isn’t meant for Casuals. It’s meant for coordinated groups. If you’re interested in getting a kill, TTS kills him multiple times daily in NA. We’ve got it down to a science. Kills with no Turrets. Kills with only melee attacks. Kills with only pets and minions. Kills with only white weapons. Kills with no armor.
Wrong. Tequatl was completely designed for casuals who know that they need to have some basic communication so that all of the mechanics of the fight are properly handled.
Anet Devs beg to differ. They made this fight for us 1%. But that doesn’t mean Casuals aren’t allowed to have fun. We have pugs who tag along with us on both Teq and the Great Wurm runs.
They made this fight for casuals who wanted something that required a bit more complexity and organization, yes. Just because it requires three separate roles (turrets, turret defenders, main dps zerg) doesn’t mean it’s still not aimed at your casual player who loves themselves a fight that actually puts their PVT gear to practical use.
Ohai! This thread again.

You’re too hardcore for this. You need raids. Ask anet for raids. Trust me.
Eww I don’t want raids, I prefer not having to organize anything more than our 5 man dungeon runs. Guild missions already test my patience with the amount of people not paying attention or responding.

The key to both of these methods is show up 45+ mins early. If you get there early enough and play Megaserver map roulette a couple times, I guarantee you that you’ll find a map with enough organization to at least get him through a few burn phases, if not an outright victory.
Sorry, but this is kitten poor design. It’s not different than showing up hours early for a WoW raid. I can understand showing up a few mins early, that’s fine.
Granted, this isn’t necessarily a problem with the fight itself, but of the bad design that forces someone to show up really early just to hold their spot on the map.
For world bosses people should expect to show up 30 minutes before in order to coordinate. A few minutes won’t do for anything coordinated. You have to explain stuff to the new players. Get numbers. Set up teams. A few minutes won’t be able to do that. 30 minutes is more than enough time. The fact of the matter is that most maps get capped because people want to do this. On top of the fact that the boss timer makes it so that everyone comes in at one time since the next spawn is many many hours away (blame ArenaNet for these spawn times). Previous to the megaserver I believe you can get in TTS Tequ much easier than you can now.
Then we will just have to agree to disagree. If other people think it’s worth waiting around for 30 minutes before a fight starts for some crappy rng chances at some ascended boxes, then more power to them, but I have better things to do with my time. About the only thing good that comes from Teq is the karma, and I can get just as much karma from doing quick fractal in the same amount of time it takes you to (over)explain a fight.
Also, the map gets capped because it’s like the one PVE encounter that actually caters to people wearing PVT and honestly requires very little skill once you understand the the very simple mechanics. Because it’s based almost entirely on simple mechanics that require some basic organization and communication, it works really well for the casual player base.
Not criticizing at all here, I’m sincerely glad there’s content for every type of player to enjoy and successfully complete.

Basically it’s content for those that like standing around doing nothing for an hour or so for 8 minutes of action- so basically those with plenty of time on their hands and those who consider this a good use of their limited leisure time.
This is why I don’t do tequatl, not because it’s hard, but because I have better things to do than stand around while some commander explains the strats for the umpteenth time, when really everything can be covered in about 2 minutes.
If anything, what needs to be fixed about tequatl is the need to show up 30 minutes or more before the event starts, like mechanisms that allowed absolutely anyone in the area to quickly ascertain what turrets had operators, how many people are at turrets defending, etc etc, not some commander running around take a visual count and directing 5 man parties to form for different tasks. A nice UI could handle all of this much easier.
Sometimes its difficult to get a group going for some dungeon paths, especially story mode, so being denied a group based off my DPS and equipment means I could go weeks without being able to complete that particular dungeon path. I can make my own lfg every day, but if its a rarely run path, then getting a group together can be difficult, and being denied a group for BS reasons just compounds the issue of not being able to find a group.
Ive done HoW once for path 1, and have never done SE because there’s never any groups, and have not been successful in starting my own.
I’ve never seen people requesting requirements for story mode, they are all lower level than the explorable paths and people don’t really do speed runs – they are usually done just that once to get them unlocked on a toon. If people are posting requirements for a story mode, I wouldn’t run with them either.
You’re right about HotW, all the paths suck, even 1 now (although I’m pretty sure people still do it), 2 and 3 are even worse because they are underwater and underwater combat is the pits.
SE is one of the most popular, easiest, and fastest dungeons, it’s a staple for pugs, you should be able to find a group around reset time for that pretty easily (p1 & 3, not 2). Just go stand outside the instance and with megaservers there are always a ton of people just hanging out.
Are the Phoenix weapons a reference to Conchita Wurst?
For those who don’t know, Conchita Wurst is the winner of Eurovision 2014, which happened on 10th May 2014, in which she won with a song named “Rise Like a Phoenix”.
I thought it was a big coincidence, in that they came up in the same month as Rise Like a Phoenix winning Eurovision.
Lol like American developers are paying attention or have any awareness of cheezy European pop culture….
This is a good point as well. As a PVT guardian pushing near 30k health, I deal the same damage as a guardian wearing zerker, with the sole exception that my critical rate is about 10%. In exchange for my low critical rate, I have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more health and armor than a zerker guardian. And by running S/S & staff, I may not be dealing top damage, yet I contribute more to the fight because I’m CCing enemies, buffing allies, and providing supportive actions.
Hahahahahaha. Guardians who have a low crit rate do crap damage. CC is useless most times in dungeons as well, cause when you pull em all to a corner there is 0 need for any more cc.
If you run with a zerker party, you are nothing but dead weight, plain and simple. In your average pug party I’m sure you are a godsend though, cause you need 30k health when the boss fights take 20 minutes.
At least your type is easy to pick out. Oh you have a shield and staff equipped? Kick.
That’s why we have the ability to post details in our LFG posts, so that way we never even need to cross paths.
I never said, nor implied, I was trying to join “zerker only groups” and getting flamed for not have the right gear. I said I was flamed in the FORUMS, in a thread about the beserker meta dying and the feasability of other builds. I’ve never joined a group where I didn’t meet the requirements, whether gear, level, AP, or whatever. If people want to have those groups, thats fine, I won’t join them. I’m not that disrepectful. I’ve also had people joining my “Any welcome” LFG that I always run, and asked me what gear I had, and had them insult me and quit because I wasn’t running the meta.
I do not have any sense of entitlement. I don’t expect people to allow me to join specific groups regardless of what I have, I don’t expect either Anet or other players to cater to my style of play. The only thing I do expect from players is common curtesy and not to hate because I am playing in a manner that I find fun and not hindering you from doing the same.
Well, why you thought the bezerker meta was dying is beyond me, berzerker will always do the most damage because of how the game works, plain and simple (unless they fix it so mobs can have 100s of condi stacks on them). It’s stronger now than it ever was for most content except level 80 dungeons. So I would expect you to be corrected and told you’re wrong, and that your build is going to be weaker but still nonetheless viable for casual gameplay, but people shouldn’t have been calling you names or anything.
As for people insulting you on casual runs, that’s completely uncalled for, and they should know better than that if they are joining a group that specifies it’s a casual run.
DPS meter: Not a good idea, for reasons already explained and more. Having such a meter would only foster more of the elitism already rampant. I caught hell in the warrior forums because I refused to run the berseker meta, and am running axe/axe valk. I was called a noob, a horrible player and worse. Having a way to check that while in a group would just be awful.
Inspect command: Not really needed, not only for the reasons above, but because if you want to check someones gear, ask them to ping it. A form of it already exists in-game. Adding it as a function would be redundant.
All I hear you saying is that you want to run whatever build you want, in a group that requests zerker meta builds, without them knowing and without any repercussions.
Why do you think it’s your right to join someone else’s group when they specifically request a different build based on their idea of what’s fun, which is fast & efficient runs.
Talk about an entitled mindset.
Also, it’s not elitism when the calculations prove that they are bringing superior dps and you are not. Those are facts, and not an opinion. You may enjoy your build, and more power to you, as there is an easy avenue for you to participate in the same activities without intruding on other groups – join a casual run or post your own lfg specifying that it’s a casual run.
(edited by calyx.9086)
No and No. People are complaining that the game is getting Elitist and this would only make it worse.
It’s only becoming more elitist because most of the GW2 population consists of kitten poor players wearing PVT and Clerics who whine over and over about how they are just playing how they want aka playing like crap.
Yes because gear is what makes you a good player versus a bad player….riiiight. Unless you honestly believe that if you are in zerker gear there’s absolutely no way you could play like crap. I’m sure many here would disagree with you quite a bit.
I run a PVT guardian w/ clerics trinkets in most dungeons (have cleared every dungeon every path and at this point up to FoTM43, without any issue). I’ve yet to whine about anything. If I want an 8min CoF run, I’ll hop on my zerker warrior and look for speedrun groups (but only if they only need 1 more person already). If I’m OK with a 13min CoF run, I’ll stick with my guardian.
I’ve been trying to take note of times to fulfill groups for speedruns versus casuals, and honestly the last couple of groups I’ve been in that wanted zerker only (and typically warriors), it has taken ~10min minutes of us standing around to get an acceptable group together (acceptable to the group leader, thus me only joining speedruns if they need 1 more, not gonna just stand around). Compared to my “casual” groups (which basically means bring any gear you want) that fill up within 30secs. My casual group would be practically done with the CoF p1 run before the zerker “speedrun” group even starts. Just seems like a complete waste of time, especially since the whole point of speedrunning is quick dungeon turn-around, not necessarily running the dungeon fastest. You want to be able to finish X number of dungeons in Y time. If you have to wait a bunch of time in between each to get a group together, then what are you really accomplishing?
Those truly into speed running tend to have groups of their own and don’t pug it.
Exactly. I was just speaking in general, I never pug dungeons, it’s always with specific guildies we have recruited to run dungeons with. Every once in a while we might only have four players in one of our groups and we’ll post for a 5th pug, and that always tends to fill really fast.
Nothing’s wrong with being picky about your group. Saying elitism is caused by players being poor, bundling them all under “whining” and assuming all other playstyles that don’t fit your party are “crap”, that’s pretty elitist.
If elitism is caused by players being poor, is racism caused by people being non-white?
The only thing that causes elitism (or any other attitude) is players chosing to be that way.
Ok, I wasn’t trying to lump everyone together who doesn’t fit that playstyle, and that’s the way I came off. I was mainly referring to the people I see gripe about it on the forums.
Also, I wasn’t referring to poor as in how much gold someone has, but rather to their playing abilities.
Again, I have nothing against people running whatever builds and gear they want, I have many guildies who do exactly that, and many friends who do the same. But you won’t catch me running a dungeon with them unless I’m really bored and have a bunch of time to waste.
No and No. People are complaining that the game is getting Elitist and this would only make it worse.
It’s only becoming more elitist because most of the GW2 population consists of kitten poor players wearing PVT and Clerics who whine over and over about how they are just playing how they want aka playing like crap.
…he says, proving Dusty Moon’s point.
I wasn’t arguing that there are not plenty of elitists in this game when it comes to some content, of course there are. And there always will be in a game where people like to expound on the fact that it’s ok to be a subpar player because they are just playing how they want.
Honestly, I could care less what builds or professions or skills people use, as long as it’s not in my group, and I don’t see why some people are so offended by that. No one is forced to play with anyone else, it’s very easy to form groups to enjoy content the way you want to enjoy it.
Yeah, Im 99.9% sure Id never get a group if someone saw my stats like that. I use my shortbow the vast majority of the time in dungeons because its the only weapon i feel I can use for most situations, but its not overly strong. As a thief Ive set up using mostly power, precision and toughness. Its not right for someone to kick me from a group just because they don’t like how I set up to play.
If you are primarily using your shortbow in dungeons, then you deserve to be kicked if you join a group that advertises itself as a speed-run or zerker group. You should instead seek out a group of like-minded players who don’t care if they spend an hour doing a few ac paths. Some of us like to get 12-14 paths cleared in 2 hours total because we have limited time to play.
Seriously though, you should try to take some more risks and learn how your profession works first before even doing dungeons if you think sitting back and plinking with shortbow is how it works. You are doing it all wrong. My main is a thief, and I don’t even have a ranged weapon equipped in most dungeons unless its for stacking stealth…..
I’ve used the stat switching on my legendaries multiple times. I still will. It was definitely the idea that I could have any stat spread I need for all my builds, and the fact that it will always be best in slot for the rest of the games life that sold me on it, in addition to the skin.
I never had to do any ascended weapon crafting since I have legendaries for all weapon possibilities on my main.
If you have to switch stats to beat any content, except for maybe wvw, you need to learn to play.
The majority of players will welcome this change which is all that matters really.
I have a bolt , inci, sunrise and minstrel , working on the juggernaut needless to say i have spent a lot of hrs crafting them so there is no reason i should NOT be able to enjoy them on all my toons , absolutely none.
Not all of us have the time to do 10 map completions just to make duplicates for our different toons ( some of us do have jobs and a life as crazy as that must sound ) so great stuff Anet you’re making 99% of your community happy with this upcoming change.
I can’t believe you are going to cry about not having time to make duplicate legendaries when you just admitted that you are working on your 5th legendary.
Its still 2 legendaries on your thief nothing has changed.
I don’t care if they are purple, orange, yellow, or green, I care about the skin and the cost involved in getting what was supposed to be a very rare skin. I’d have been quite happy just getting the skin, and having to apply it to a weapon that I already owned, much like gem store skins already are. Which is what most of us did originally, when they had crappy stats that no one wanted and you weren’t able to choose.
Just piping in to say that this really needs to be addressed. I spent countless hours farming for my second incinerator just so I could duel wield matching daggers.
I could care less about switching stats, I’ve not ever done it once, all I need is zerker and that’s all I will ever need.
So I originally put a ticket, #391207, in on 2-23, after getting 100% map completion for the 2nd time.
I’ve since received numerous emails saying that my date is within the right range and I should check back in 24 hours and it should be in the mail.
The last one says this:

Hello,
Thank you for your patience as we investigated your inquiry about the rewards associated with finishing the World Complete achievement.
Earlier, we sent the final batch of Gifts of Exploration to accounts that had earned the gifts but had not received them. Please check your in-game mail box for the items. If your inbox is full—that is, if it holds 10 or mails—you may need to delete a few mails to allow the arrival of the mail containing your Gifts of Exploration.
After trying the above, if you still have not received your Gifts of Exploration, please reply to this e-mail and we will look into the matter further for you.
Regards,
Landry
I emailed them back letting them know I only have 2 items in my mailbox two days ago, and still have not received my Gifts.
14 days and counting….
It would be wonderful if someone could finally resolve this for myself and others.
Hey you guys! Please give me ticket numbers! Any ticket numbers about this are fine, any language, too. The team is taking a peek.
(And thank you for that number, hdinh, and those valuable details!
)
Submitted a ticket last night, 391207.
I’ve gone through all of your steps (Chantry of Secrets, zone in and out of every map to make sure I didn’t miss a chest, etc etc).
Thanks!
I just had a thought:
If you have submitted a ticket and if you tried the trouble-shooting steps in this thread, consider updating your ticket. You do that by responding to any e-mail with your ticket number in the subject line.
You could say:
- “I did the trouble-shooting steps Gaile posted in the forum and I still have not received my Map Complete reward.”
-OR-- “This issue is resolved, I no longer need help”
You see, we have a few ways we might respond to a player with Map Completion issues. If you’re still having problems, and if agents know you’ve already done some of the things they’d normally suggest, then they can reclassify your ticket more efficiently.
This isn’t a requirement, by any means. Your ticket will be attended to either way! But updating your ticket may speed up all responses, and that’s a good thing.
Thanks!
Done and done.
I’ve completed 100% for the 2nd time, have zoned in and out of every map 3-4 times, done a side-by-side comparison of all maps to those on the GW2 wiki, visited Chantry of Secrets like 10 times, got the new POIs in Lion’s Arch, made sure to get the new waypoint/POI/Vista in Lornar’s Pass where the Marionette event took place.
I even went an unfogged sections that aren’t required, like the Griffonrook Run jumping puzzle in Lornar’s Pass and Diedre’s Steps in Mount Maelstrom.
I’ve confirmed I also have a map completion badge next to my name from a friend.
I already had the title from doing map completion once before, so nothing changed there of course.
Would appreciate some more updates on what is being done to address this.
Thanks!
When you get a disconnect in the middle of an event it does not count for the achievement.
So do the maps again when they show up on which you got dced.
And that is stupid. It may be a feasible workaround if it’s just a map or two and you get lucky, but that is not a solution. You should not lose out on all credit because Anet servers can’t handle full map loads of people running events with tons of mobs. Saying to “just do that map again when it shows up” is not a reasonable response or expectation. Some people have jobs, and limited time, and can’t just wait around waiting for the map that they need to complete to pop up again in the rotation.
Looking for some additional information so we can try to nail down the problem.
Can you please let me know if you were on your home server or the overflow when the issue occurred?
In addition, were you able to unlock the map if you did it more than once? Example: If it failed to count the first time but you got credit for the second attempt.
Thanks!
I was on the overflow when I did not get credit for maps, and I have received credit for 3 maps I did on my home server.
I have not yet repeated any maps that I needed credit for.
Thanks for looking into this!

Go post and raise some hell there as well!

QFT and to bump, so everyone go kitten there and hopefully this gets fixed.
Sadly, time is running out for many of us probably much quicker since lots of people go out of town for Labor Day weekend like me and therefore only have this weekend and a few weeknights next week.
There is another thread on the bugs forum that has led people to believe that it is disconnecting that makes you not get credit. Figured I’d post this here and see how many people who didn’t get credit disconnected
I disconnected on 1 of 6 maps, tonight on Dredgehaunt Cliffs. I reconnected, was thrown in an empty overflow, but I was in a group so I moved back to their overflow.
Even if DC’ing caused me to not get credit for that zone, I didn’t DC in Gendaaran Fields and received no credit for any achievements there.
I’m stuck at 3/X for all 3 events that rely on participating in Portal Invasions.
I’ve done a total of 6 invasions, 3 last night, 3 tonight.
Maps last night were:
Blazeridge Steppes
Harathi Hinterlands
Iron Marches
I received credit for all 3 of those. None of these were overflows.
Received no credit for the 3 I did tonight, which were:
Gendaaran Foothills
Dredgehaunt Cliffs
Harathi Hinterlands
All 3 were overflows, and I received credit for none of them.
For all 6 events, I was there from the start, fully participated, and also killed Scarlet and got loot from her each time.
I realize that I repeated one of the maps, but I should have the Emissary Vorpp portal Closer achievement completed at least, but I’m stuck at 3/X for 3 different achievements now.
C’mon Anet, fix this, some people have limited time and can’t keep repeating maps and hoping to get credit.
