I just wanted to voice my support for mounts.
50,000 gems in the gem store, cosmetic only, cannot use in cities/dungeons/wvw/pvp.
All signets/boons/anything that applies swiftness does not apply to someone who is mounted – so anyone with swiftness will leave those mounted in the dust.
And of course combat dismounts you.
There are often contested areas and you have to walk for several minutes across the maps (take the Modniir Ulgoth Event chain for example). I run a Guardian and do not have a permanent speed boost. Yes, I could swap my Sword/Focus, GS combo for a Staff for the speed symbol. But really. I don’t want to do this every time, cuz the Staff is not my weapon of choice. Now I have to rely on the two shouts that give me together around 30s speed buffs and wait for 30s for cooldown… It just sucks, that’s why I want a mount (aside from other stuff like: collecting, prestige, style etc.)
OMG swap a weapon out and when you get to the fight, swap it back in. Just because you run with a staff, doesn’t mean you have to fight with it too. You basically want a mount because you are super lazy.
Not going to search out the links again, but:
It was stated before launch that it was expected that we would have BiS gear by level 80.
It was subsequently stated, post launch, that it was never intended for us to have BiS gear that fast.
Changing their mind by saying, “we have determined that our original intention is not going to meet the needs of the game or the player base,” is one thing. To deny that the first statement was ever true means that either the first statement was a lie or the second one is.
We were told that grind would be reserved for cosmetics but not for stats.
The best stats are now gated behind grind.
“McDonalds is delicious,” isn’t a falsehood, its an opinion.
So is considering ascended a grind. That’s your opinion. It takes 5 minutes out of your day once you buy the silk and other mats you haven’t managed to salvage or loot, plus laurels for your dailies. Time-gated? Yes, for sure? A grind? Absolutely not.
When you play Guild Wars 2 already for almost 2 years.
I’m sure you made enough money by now to buy atleast one precursor.
Unless you waste all your money on other stuff :pNot really, if you have only been doing world explorations on your characters.
Then you should really consider doing some more profitable content, even if it’s not something you particularly love. If you aren’t willing to do this, then you don’t want a legendary bad enough and don’t deserve one anyways.
/sits back and strokes my 5 legendaries while watching people complain about something that’s really easy achievable
I guess I was one of the naive players who actually believed them during the pre-launch when ArenaNet made videos of playing the game the way we enjoy it and that GW2 is based on world exploration.
You can play the game the way you want to, just don’t expect to get all the rewards you want. Sometimes you have to ‘work’ for those rewards, and that means doing something that’s boring or something that you don’t enjoy. My biggest hurdle nowadays is karma when making legendaries, and even though I would rather be doing something else and find it pretty kitten boring, I still run around with the k-train in the EoTM to get that karma.

Sorry, I disagree, overall players are a pretty whiny bunch, and if Anet says any one thing, people act as if it’s written in stone.
Players brought the lack of communication on themselves.
I’d much rather have the staff developing new content and features, and fixing bugs, then dealing with the large amount of unreasonable people and their ridiculous, beat-the-dead-horse-some-more topics on the forums.
Darn customers are the bane of business, fersure! Who needs to know what THEY think!!
Unless you are buying gems on the regular, you aren’t really a customer, you are a past customer. They’ve already got your money, and they delivered what you paid for, which is GW2 as it was exactly at that time, so what more do they owe you?
.When and how much I spend is none of your concern, I’m sure Anet knows.
What defines a “customer” here isn’t your call.
Ok bud. Go ahead and get all defensive over nothing, no skin off my back. I was speaking from a general perspective on all players, not you in particular.

Why should there be more ways? Because that’s how the game was supposed to be. Attaining max stats wasn’t “just for” those that craft, or those that dungeon, or those that wvw, or those that only play open world. Ascended should actually have never been introduced to the game, but it was so we’re stuck with it. However, like exotics, we should be able to play how we choose to obtain it. Let crafters craft it, let wvwers buy it with badges and gold, let people use karma for ascended temple sets, let dungeoners use tokens and maybe some gold. Per Colin’s comments – they just wanted it to take longer to achieve, although admitted I think he was only partially truthful as to their reasons behind adding this tier. But fine, make it insanely expensive, it’s not like it’s not that way now. Like all other gear tiers, it should not be locked behind the “you can only have it if you do ‘x’” barrier. For skins, that’s fine. But not for simply obtaining max stats.
But laurels are not locked behind any specific content. You can get them from participating in just about any aspect of the game using a variety of currencies to make them even cheaper.
I’m not against ascended jc, I just don’t see the point. People are welcome to spend a ton more gold for each trinket than the rest of us if that’s their desire.
You seriously think Ascended Trinket Crafting won’t have time gates? What game have you guys been playing?
I’m sensing some link between 500 Jeweler and Legendary Trinkets….
Sure it will, but consider that the cheapest ascended trinket currently requires 25 days to get (except the fractals one).
And yeah, legendary trinkets and jewel lvl 500 have a good chance to be related.
Actually, the accessories you can get for I think 12 commendations, that’s like 2 weeks of guild missions that take a max of 2 hours total to do, unless you’re part of some megaguild that takes like 4 hours to do one set of weekly missions.
(edited by calyx.9086)
Gear Progression
Yes, that was supposed to be prestige-only on GW2, supposed to have no stat progression beyond Exotic levels, but the Ascended gear pretty much opposes this, including the infusion system that is limited to it.
Yea, Fractals are ascended based rewards, but why not give us choice of not do insane grinding, perhaps only the infusions could remain as grindable part, and play ALL content with our Exotic gear, that could be upgraded to accept infusions…
The dungeon reward merchants pretty much are our “GW1-style-prestige-skin-armorsmiths”
It’s really not that insane of a grind, it’s very little effort. I’ve made about 15 ascended weapons, and 3 sets of ascended armor – one light, one heavy, and one medium.
If you are saying it’s insanely expensive, I could at least sort of understand that, but really, it’s not if you aren’t cheap and are willing to devote some of your gold to buying silk and some t6 mats.
There really does need to be more ways to acquire that gear tier. A way to make it more accessible, rather than more limiting. Stats should be something relatively accessible to all players, no matter how they choose to play (crafting, wvw, dungeons, etc). Skins on the other hand, those should be what requires the effort and skill to obtain.
Why should there be more ways? Dailies and monthlies can be completely by playing any part of the game. Whether you WvW, PvP, dungeons, fractals, general PVE. A daily can be done in 15 or 20 minutes if you make the effort, and many times you get them just by doing your own thing, whatever that may be. You can also get heavy discounts by doing fractals (for pristines for rings), guild comms (for accessories), and WvW badges also make all jewelry cheaper if you go the standard laurel route.
I can get behind offering more stats, but ascended jc will definitely be the most expensive and time-consuming method of obtaining jewelry. If someone wants to spend hundred of more gold to make something they could get by doing dailies, more power to them I guess.
we know that technologies improving and we trying make Computer as Media Center and play on Big screen. Now you can build powerful enough HTPC or play on Steam Console. You ckittene Xbox, PS or other controller on your PC. This game doesn’t have so much active skill slot so why don’t make a controller support. Also I know that some of player tried some software like Pinnacle, Xpadder and other. But is not a same experience if integrate support into game without any third part software. Third party software emulating keyboard commands and it doesn’t good to change stance. So here need developers help ;-). I like this type game to play on big screen than on small, Play with keyboard and mouse on sofa are disaster.
What do you think about this?
I think if I wanted to use controllers, I’d buy a console and play console games.
FotM:
If you mean the karma train, everyone’s good enough for it. Mesmers get some extra points for Portal, but it’s mostly useful to others.
He said FoTM (Fractals of the Mists), not EoTM.
Anyways, of the three, guards probably excel the most in fractals.
Last precursor I pulled from the forge was dusk, I dropped 1000 rare greatswords in, and then finally pulled the precursor on the exotics I got back from throwing all of those rare greatswords in.
At the extremely lowball price of 50s a rare greatsword (and I think they are probably closer to 70-85s), that’s 500g in rares, plus more exotics. I crafted all of mine from scratch, that makes it a kitteneaper.
If you want to gamble in the forge, you need a lot more gold, and that means you may need to do content you don’t particularly enjoy that are actually profitable, like dungeons.
OP, you invalidate your entire post when you bring up tired old crap like mounts and GvG.
Mounts don’t even count as actual content, that’s a feature.

the damage of staff guardian is too low…
i have to disagree with you
just 12might stacks in almost 6seconds cast time and a nice heal as well… does no dmg..
it increases the dmg of your whole group (if thyre not already capped at 25) it heals your whole group so they can focus on hitting the mobs
Even if you disagree it doesn’t mean your silly, uninformed statements aren’t factually incorrect. Are you one of those people who deny that global warming exists?
He might do a little less damage but survive longer( more armor and HP), so it is a crap shoot, depending on how good he was. Zerker isn’t everything in this game.
I see more zerker’s down in fights with world bosses than any other type of gear because they are glass cannons and the world bosses have huge HP pools compared to how much damage Zerkers put out.
This set has not only no crit or ferocity (not that they matter for structures like tequatl, though they do for trash mobs that spawn at turrets), it has no power. This guy will hit like a wet noodle.
I agree there are possibilities to cash them in, but compared to other mats, hardly any at all. I think they need to remove bloodstone dust from champ bags as its just ridiculous. Also prices rises in mats are happening more and more. I think u should be able to convert bloodstone dust into a NON account bound material.
Or rather than removing it from champ bags, you can just delete it from your inventory. It’s not a complicated or difficult process.
And that cost you how much real money? Just freaking ouch.
It’s like $30, not really that much.
Some of us who can afford it have dropped hundreds of dollars. $50 for gems is cheaper than a few drinks out at the bar.
So you got an expensive drop and are QQing about TP fees…. Just sell the kitten thing and be happy you are 800g or so richer.
Combat is very one dimensional and somewhat shallow in the game.
In pve zerker meta and pew pew something stacked until it’s dead.
Pvp you have a few more options but everything in this game is indeed judged and rewarded by how much dps you do.
All else is an after thought.
Says the guy who accepted Dub’s challenge and never showed up for it, hm?
You mean the same guy that got some obsessive player and his obsessive friends to log on in the middle of the morning and wait for hours on end for something that means absolutely nothing?
Let me introduce you to being rl trolled.
A bunch of us got a big laugh out of it in ts. We honestly didn’t think anyone takes games that seriously – especially this one.
Enjoy
Sounds like you chickened out. Agreeing to something and not showing up is not trolling.
I also play Support Elementalist on World Bosses, also that most World bosses are immune to crits so Cleric armor isn’t so bad to use, increases the general longevity of DPS and CC players, instead of dying at some point.
Wtf are you talking about. World bosses can be crit. Structure world bosses like tequatl cannot, but bosses like Svanir Shaman can easily be crit….

I even had special mounts only to be used in those new dungeons …
What about Open-PvP in those dungeons ? With permadeath. You never know when your friend will sudenly backstab you ..
Special reward for people who survive 100 runs : an ugly cape that clips like hell
Ooo, make it so they can’t stack and as an added bonus, can’t use melee weapons. Better yet, no traditional weapons. Environment weapons only. Let’s see who throws who under the bus so that they don’t die first.
evil chuckle
Oooh I like it, I get a 10% damage bonus for bundles on my thief
I’m ok with this.
Want rewards? Then be useful and kill something.
Hmm, no problems here, most times I land in the same shard as party and guild members, unless that shards is really packed (Dry Top the first few days), or because those guild/party members are based on a different home server.
They aren’t working on this, or at least they have not acknowledged this as being an issue.
You will need to buy new runes for a different set of armor if you need them in the meantime.
In other words, don’t even use WvW or karma armor if you care about ever getting your runes and sigils back.
The reason you can see more pro-dueling threads is that those anti-dueling don’t create threads. If everyone who was against Open-World dueling created a thread, I don’t think your premise would hold much weight.
People don’t create threads much asking for features that are already in the game. Lol.
No to dueling for all the reasons expressed in all the previous threads.
I didn’t saw any reasonable reason so why you dont tell me 1? All the reasons i saw were " It doesn’t go well with the story" – duh?, “im lazy to click on block duel button”.Whats your story?amuse me pls.
My reason for not wanting duels is so I can watch people like you QQ in the forums.
GW2 certainly has the best community.
It is certainly amusing. You guys kind of ask for it with your incessant spamming of the forums on this topic.
Honestly, I’m fine with duels, as long as
a) Prior to allowing duels, Anet straight up says “1vs1 is going to be inbalanced, and we are not going to do a single thing about it. If you think some class is OP over yours, reroll a new profession or L2P”
b) You can’t duel in major cities, has to be outside them so people can use the TP, crafting stations, merchants, without a bunch of people making it potentially more laggy.
c) All duels are declined automatically by default unless someone specifically enables it. It must be opt in, not opt out.
Nerelith, well said!
+1 to you!!Anyone thinking megaserver is a positive or good step forward for this game, drank the kool-aid …
More fiends and guildies left the game in the 2.5 months since 15/04/2014 than during the entire time between launch and 15/04/2014 …
Your anecdotal evidence, is, well, anecdotal. We’ve lost no guildies, all of my friends still log in mostly on a daily basis, and we have actually recruited new member since then as well. Based on what I’ve seen, the population has been growing since 4-15-2014!
I already have the Molten Alliance Mining Pick, but I really want the Watchwork Mining Pick too. I could effort it but I don’t want to have 2 Unlimited Gathering Tools. Is there any possibility to trade my Molten Alliance back against 500 Gems or anything like that?
If not, is it worth it to buy the Watchwork Pick and let my Molten Pick forever in the Bank without using it anymore?
You can transfer your molten alliance pick to an alt, it doesn’t have to sit in the bank.
The reason you can see more pro-dueling threads is that those anti-dueling don’t create threads. If everyone who was against Open-World dueling created a thread, I don’t think your premise would hold much weight.

well if you have an ele in your party, youn can stand behind the earth elemental
This is what we typically do. If no ele, if you have an asuran you can use the racial elite to summon the d-series defensive golem.
Wish players would try to be a bit more mindful of immersion too. Luckily most are good with naming.
You know lots of people care absolutely zilch about immersion or lore? As long as no one has offensive names….
An easy fix for this would be to turn off name tags for friendlies and only leave it on for enemies. It’s more aesthetically pleasing in general I think.
There are several good ways to accumulate karma. Follow the karma train in EoTM, do fractals below your level, or for right now, if you can get in a gold boss blitz you can also get a lot of karma from farming that.
I fully support player housing. I like most of the OP’s ideas and would have to agree that the home instance is empty and pointless. Easily forgotten. Adding player housing would fix that. Maybe.
I say maybe because I think player housing would be a lot cooler if you could have your house built in a setting of your choice. For example a Maguuma Jungle or Shiverpeak Mountain setting. You would use an Asura Gate, perhaps located in your home instance, that would take you to your home in its own instance. And of course you could invite friends and guild mates to see what you’ve done with the place. OR if not that, then maybe your house would be in a Guild neighborhood. But that poses the question of how that would work when you represent a new guild…
The player would build everything but services would be purchased in the gem store, such as relocation to a different setting, adding a garden, extending the land to include a nearby cave with mining nodes, adding a crafting station, etc. I also think it would be cool to be able to buy wall hangings such as paintings of the concept art you see here and there in the game.
i brushed up against that idea earlier i really would not want the home limited to the actual home instance, whih woudlnt make sense because i DO NOT want houses to be soulbound, they must be character wide if ur gana b spending so much money on them.
perhaps u can pick between the starter areas OR the npc for entering your player owned house can just be in your home instance and u talk to them to teleport to your home.
im afraid i just cant see any way for guilds to get involved with this unless the building skill was also used to build guild halls (which i would like)
You realize home instances are shared on an account? I use the one in DR all the time on my asura to mine sprockets/crystals/candy corn, and I can’t re-enter a different home instance to mine these again on a different toon within the same daily period.
i’m pretty sure beaches don’t have nerds oggling at video game characters but whatever
I’m still wondering how you’re seeing nerds oggling at video game characters when looking at your GW2 screen, and not 3D women and 3D men wearing 3D clothes of various skimpiness. If you really do, that’s definitely neither the game’s nor the nerds’ fault, but simply you prejudging people you can’t even see.
It’s knowing the person behind the toon is some horny, pervy teenager ogling digital curves. Or in the case of schoolgirl outfits as I have also seen requested, a pedo.
Sorry, but as I said again, it’s not the problem with the nerds or the game. It’s your own problem of making completely unnecessary and unfounded judgments about people who you’ve never heard of and never seen based on what they like in a video game while they’re doing nothing blameworthy to you.
Honestly, I think that being a teenager who likes video games and pretty girls of the same age in bikinis or in school uniforms is far, far more normal than being a grown-up who censures completely family-friendly content based on self-imposed opinions about which kind of people likes what. Real life of other people in a video game is completely, utterly none of your business as long as they’re not personally harassing you by directly communicating their real-life issues through the game to you via in-game chat and similar means.
P.S. As a side note, you’re making a mistake and confusing this, which is rather natural and is not a pathology, and this, which is a disorder.
You go ahead and keep justifying it however you want.
Also, you basically just condoned murder and kitten with your statement
“Real life of other people in a video game is completely, utterly none of your business* as long as they’re not personally harassing you by directly communicating their real-life issues through the game to you via in-game chat and similar means.”
So as long as Jack the Ripper doesn’t communicate what he is doing in-game, it’s none of anyone’s business that he is cutting up prostitutes, right? So I would amend that as long as it’s not a (violent?) crime, you are absolutely right that it’s none of anyone’s business.
Also, for the record, you do realize you went ahead and judged me based on that previous brief comment of mine? I’m about as liberal as you can be, I’m perfectly fine with all out nudity and whatever explicit scenes and language you can add to a video game, I just think town clothes and alternate outfits for RP’ing are silly and Anet’s resources could be better spent elsewhere.
(edited by Moderator)
Devata I am starting to get the impression that this game was not meant for us. But for players that are perfectly content with buying everything at the Gem Store. Or Buying it at the TP, after grinding out the gold for it, or Bought the gems, to convert to gold for it.
In my opinion, doing the above makes me feel Like I am working a job.
~
The end result was a bag that sold On the TP for 13g. but that I needed to use a sigil that had a fixed cost of 10 to 11 g. I forget exactly how much. so pure profit? Is there any? This is why i stopped making bags.
When I play other games, I feel i am playing other games. When i play Gw2… I LOVE the mechanics of GAMEPLAY…. but the economy just makes me feel like Anet’s b****.
Well one of the main reason I did go for GW2 was because it was supposed to use the B2P model not F2P. that was great because I could then avoid exactly this sort of mechanics and thats one of the main reasons.. no I guess the main reason for my interest in GW2. Sadly the game is now more of a F2P game… as it focuses on cash-shop for income not on game-sales (as expansions are part of the game,, that also counts as game sales).
Also the hole idea of being focused on cosmetics.. The engineering profession we talked about before.. now thats the stuff I expect when you focus on cosmetics and casual game-play.
So is the game something for me or not.. It should be my (and your?) game. In the current state however it’s not the game it should have been.
Personally I also in other games never crafted for gold… well I did once find an item that was easy to make and sold good so then I started selling it but I was overall that was never a drive for me. I always crafted for myself. If I put something on a TP it was mainly because in many mmo’s it says “crafted by ..” and it was sort of a nice idea that somebody else is running around with your name. However yeah I did notice that usually there are some craft-able items that can make money. I haven’t seen that yet in GW2 but I am not sure.
Thee fact that you need to buy something in order to create something (when that item is expensive) is also something I dislike. It really tells that they want to make sure you did not get everything by farming the item.. you need to involve money with it.
I saw a Guy running around On a Mech-warrior Mount…. Similar to the asura elite…but VERY Steampunk ish…. Steampunk-esque?
I asked the guy " Oh wow, where did you get it? " was an engineer thing..turns out Not Only from engineer but also Not BoP.
When I used to play that game everything engineers made was BoP. or..only useable by engineers.
So I am making a new character and said " My alts need that."
Turns out they can also make a steampunk type helicopter. the thing runs on coal, tons of smoke polluting the place, I fell in Love at first sight.
THIS is what I think of when I think of cosmetics and casual.
Something totally useless in combat, but fun to ride around in.
but… the fact that gw2 is so TP/Gemstore centered. DOES feel like what people think about when they think.." Free2play/pay2win"
is it pay2win ? well as long as Gold sells in exchange for gems… it’s borderline….
This game needs More utterly useless in combat …but FUN items that can be obtained either from crafting…or from simply playing…
too much has Anet’s hands In our pockets. Starting with the salvage kits…
In other games you kill a mob, they drop cloth…
In THIS game unless you spend Money on a salvage kit, you cannot get cloth off mobs.
all the way through the creation proocess… nibble here, nibble there… Anet is nickle-and-diming us to death…. " Death by a Thousand cuts" kinda thing…
You don’t really seem to understand the concept of a gold sink do you?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_sink
And seriously, oh noes, we have to buy salvage kits! You’re like those people who complain about the piddling 2s to use waypoints.
Hello! Thank you for your additions. I did not research the tonic before I purchased it because I wanted it to be a mystery. I was so delighted with the tonic and so glad that I didn’t spoil any of the transformations for myself! It was also fun to discover that (unlike with many tonics) you can do things like walk backward and swim.
I am not complaining that I did not know about the duration beforehand, I am merely suggesting its improvement. Even if I had read beforehand that the tonic lasts only five minutes, I believe I still would have purchased it. I don’t regret the purchase in the slightest – I would just love to see it improved.
I absolutely recognize that this a low priority for Anet, but it’s still something I would like to see implemented, and so I decided to make this post.
Once again, thank you for your additions and helping bump this topic.
Ahh, it sounded like another case of buyer’s remorse that we see so often on the forums. I know I’ve seen this exact same type of complaint about the Infinite Watchnight Tonic.
Glad you are happy with your purchase despite it’s deficiencies, hopefully Anet can eventually get around to adjusting that time limit for you.
Hey dude, I for one don’t care about your opinion. You are no judge of anyone here, so keep that condescending and aggresive tone to yourself and speak calmly or keep quiet.
I hardly see how changing the number 5 to 60 would be an issue. It’s just a number. Nothing else. I can hardly see many issues with changing a variable to what’s already in place on other tonics.
“I knew that game had glitches and balancing issues. Therefore I should complain about it before buying it because I’ve seen so many Warrior op QQ posts. Or buy it and shut my mouth, they’re busy with Living Story enough.”We can complain without being judged by some random kid on the internet. You, on the other hand, have no business acting kitteny over something that simple that is a matter of QoL – you know, “fun”, which you’re supposed to have in a videogame.
Nothing in my previous comment was aggressive, but maybe a little condescending in that I think that’s a wasteful use of laurels, I’ll grant you that. Even so, I said whatever floats your boat, as in, I could care less about what someone else does. I stated my reasons for chiming in, and that’s resource allocation. I even commented that it seems like a simple change, and that if they can handle all of the other things that affect a larger majority of the player base and improve this as well, then great!
I’d ask you to be a bit less aggressive yourself, my comment was perfectly calm and collected. Just because someone has an opinion that doesn’t mesh with yours, doesn’t make someone a child. If you don’t like criticism, then feel free to offer counter arguments without making personal attacks.
You obviously think tonics are on the very important list of things to fix, and I disagree, and there is nothing inherently wrong with that.
If you don’t want ascended, there isn’t much else to spend laurals on.
Also, nobody here is complaining about lack of info about the tonic.
They are asking(and rightly so), for the limit to be lifted. Why are you so annoyed about people asking for this? (also anet has changed tonic durations before… so, they do care to an extent.)
Well, you could convert them into t6 mats. Or buy more ascended trinkets for alts. Neither of these are a good way to spend laurels either, but again, whatever floats your boat, I could honestly care less about what people spend their laurels on.
What I do care about is that Anet actually devotes development resources to the many bugs, balancing issues, new content, and new features that affect the majority of the player base. If they can do all of that, and increase the duration of a silly tonic, then fantastic.
And yes, the OP was clearly complaining that they bought the tonic for 100 laurels and then was surprised it only had a 5 minutes duration. Otherwise they could have made a forum post that says “I really want the mystery cat tonic, but I refuse to spend 100 laurels until the duration is increased and you can use items like kites, fix this oversight and I will buy it”.
Honestly, just give up. You can’t reliably farm t6 mats or lodestones from mobs, though with events like Boss Blitz you can farm the crap out of that and exchange tokens for heavy crafting bags. But for the most part, events like this are a rarity.
To pull something from the Mystic Forge, unless you are extremely lucky, you won’t ever have enough to put into it to have a decent chance to get one back.
I pulled Dusk out of the forge maybe a month ago, and I started with 1,000 rare greatswords. You can’t store up 1,000 items in your inventory unless somehow you distribute it across multiple characters and max bank slots or something.
I crafted mine, and while you can farm and salvage the mats needed, I can’t imagine trying to gather the 24k mithril ore, 12k elder wood logs, and 15k t5 mats. Much easier and cheaper when you consider the lost opportunity cost that you could be doing something more profitable than running around mining mithril nodes for 8 hours a day.
I can’t believe people actually waste laurels on this stuff, but whatever floats your boat I guess.
Tonic duration, while it’s sounds like something easy to implement, is not going to be something that Anet cares about. Using items like kites while transformed as a kitten is also not something they are going to care about.
Lastly, before you blindly spend 100 laurels on something, you should try doing some basic research beforehand. Or are you the type of person who would buy a new car or drop $1500 on a new TV without looking at reviews?

It clearly states transformations last 5 minutes. Do your homework before save up a bunch of currency and buy something.
No, you shouldn’t be able to exchange tokens from one even for tokens from another. If you have leftover tokens from Event A, and want Event B rewards, then do Event B. If Event A tokens are taking up too much inventory, then either delete them, or vendor them, or buy more inventory space.
You can have up to 11 or 12 extra bank slots, that is so many extra slots it’s ridiculous.
I do think some items, like Blade Shards, which are used for crafting, should have a spot in collectibles though.
Someone else mentioned shared dungeon currency. If you want Arah armor, then stop doing AC and learn to do Arah. Or just do the PVP rewards track, since that is now an option.
This entire thread sounds like people being cheap. Get a job and buy some gems already. Bank slots were just on sale, I bought 2 more, that deal is gone now I think though. Or roll a new alt, buy max bag slots for them, and outfit them with a bunch of 20 slot bags. That’s like 160 extra slots right there to store your tokens.
Ray of Judgement is already in game, on Guardian’s Focus #4. It looks like a flashlight
When I tried guardian for the first time in the beta, the thing that turned me off immediately was what they did to Ray of Judgement. I was originally on the fence between choosing ele, guardian, or mesmer as my main. When I saw how RoJ went from the glorious heavenly energy blast… to this… insignificant, laughable, bouncy blue thing that you barely notice… I just instantly deleted my guardian and never went back. What a kitten shame. How on earth did the design meeting go for that skill? How could they possibly think that Ray of Judgement should be treated in such a way? They took one of the single most iconic and powerful offensive skills of GW1, and turned it into one of the most grossly underwhelming, almost useless and completely forgettable skills in GW2. .
This just shows how little you understand about GW2 combat roles and how stuck you are in the past.
Ray of Judgement is one of the most useful skills a guardian has in PVE and is a blind that allows for active mitigation of of damage from enemies.
Maybe it doesn’t measure up to it’s namesake in GW1, but that doesn’t negate the fact that it is a heavily used, extremely useful skill.
Super elite dungeons?
With the current mechanism in play DEEPS!! with a smattering of ice bow, it would only mean stacking and spanking 15 times (on the designated spot) instead of 5. What they need to do is re-address the whole philosophy of dungeon design making those that visit there encounter a unique experience every time.
Until they do that, your super elite dungeons will be, sadly, just longer versions of what we currently have, requiring more players, but still the same old kitten.
edit: clarity
Are you in a guild that doesn’t stack?
I’m in a guild and play a necro main. And although I have been invited to do a few runs if they don’t want to do a LFG, I usually bow out because I find the mechanisms both tiring and monotonous, and would rather fight in WvW where every day is a different experience.
That’s exactly what a necro would say.
It says unique on the ring.
It’s a really small tag at the bottom of the stats, barely noticeable. And how are people supposed to know what this ‘unique’ tag actually means?
It’s called paying attention, reading something and applying common sense. But no, there should clearly be a fifteen page PDF guide to walk people through this.
Condescending remark combined with an exaggeration, typical.
It should be literally stated that you can only wear one. And please be so kind as to keep derogatory comments about so called common sense to your self.
Seriously, you get way too offended over very minor things. Chill out dude.
Laurels do not require running with a party, fractals do. It’s been my experience that most party’s aren’t all that welcoming to players who do not live and breath whatever dungeon path or fractal and know the strategies as 2nd nature. So while FotM 1 may be trivial to you it can be quite the demeaning experience for someone less skilled.
Nobody has been chewed out for not completing their daily.
FOTM is for complete noobs to fractals, that’s what it’s for, to teach people how to do fractals. No one is going to give anyone a hard time for not knowing what to do at this level, it’s pretty much expected!
In difference to what many no-life whatevercore players think, this is a game. To the fullest extent of the word “game”, this is it. It is not work. It is not a learning ground per say. It is meant for us to play and enjoy. EVERYTHING I need to know about the game MUST be available for me to learn IN the game.
Sorry, you are dead wrong. It’s impossible to maintain everything you need to know within the game, and there’s this huge wiki hosted by Anet and maintained by players to provide this wealth of information to you for this very purpose. They even have a built in /wiki command, typing in ‘/wiki unique’ would have instantly prevented this from occurring.

Golem Banker
Item type
Consumable
Rarity
Basic
Binding
Account Boundhttp://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Golem_Banker_%28consumable%29
Strange, I bought the deluxe edition in April 2013, and the golem banker provided for each of my alts was soulbound.
Maybe they changed that and they are account bound now.
If they really are, time to create like 10 alts, put the golem bankers in the bank, and use them on my main.
I bought a house in RL last year and have been increasing my personal home building skill this last year. Because of this, I find this idea intriguing. The part that interests me the most is the furniture building. The furniture provides utility and storage space beyond the current normal capacity of food and the bank. In addition, tools such as a crafting table or mystic forge could be placed in the home.
I like the idea of a teleport device in the home. Ideally it provides a slightly less costly way to move around the world map. In addition, it provides a way to move back to a home location, which loads faster than a city, to work on crafting and storage after running around the world for the day.
Also, being an engineer, I like the idea of designing and building stuff that I can take pride in.
yea the furniture is my favorite part too, i get an unreasonably big sense of satisfaction from building a silly wooden chair and then a few levels later deleting it and replacing it with a cushioned wooden chair and then deleting that and replacing it with a cushioned wooden chair with gold trim! so what if iv lost 20g in the process it was worth it =p
You should try the Sims, it sounds like it would be a perfect fit for you.
if the sims wants to add collecting and selling of gear through dungoens and world bosses with the collecting of weapon and armor skins then im all game
but guild wars 2 needs a skill like this anyway, not for me, but for the economy, we need a place to dump our gold
There is already a place to dump gold – aesthetics. I’ve crafted 4 legendaries, and those t6 mats and precursors aren’t cheap.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve nothing against player housing, I’m sure I’d participate if it was added, it should just be a super low priority compared to other new content, such as zones, dungeons, wvw/pvp. What is currently out there is rather stale for a lot of people, and player housing is not going to fix that.
are you a troll?
No need to be rude
It’s a legit question.
The OP already insisted on another thread today that he KNOWS that there will be a new race made available when LS S2 starts on July 1, so pretty much all of his posts are now subject to extra scrutiny.
Anyways I dont want this to be an argument, if you have a positive oppinion to share, share it. if you have a negative oppinion to share, dont. just say, I disagree.
Lol now this is ridiculous. If you can’t take criticism of your ideas, then you should keep them to yourself.
Oh, I disagree. I think condis do need a reworking, mainly being able to have more than 25 stacks, but your solution strikes me as a poor one.

Pretty much.
Also I kittening hate Lions Arch, the way it looks, the geography and the unwashed vermin who infest it.
I actually like it a whole lot more now than I did before, I like the bombed-out, war-torn environment.
To each their own though.

Sorry, your suggestions suck. I like my high dps guard just fine the way it is. Why do you want to break professions? If your class isn’t desired in a dungeon, roll another one that is part of the meta.
I’m all for improving the utility of professions in dungeons and group PVE, but this is an asinine route to doing that.
we just need mobs in pve like enemies in fractal ascalon . op range dmg which stays on RANGE (mags), heavy rushers (warriors), healers(monks) etc. in this way you can take of course 5 zerkers but you will wipe many many times and more efficient will be taking healing guard or condii necro to weak enemies not only zerker warriors
Wtf are you talking about. We always take 5 zerkers to fractals and do quite fine with no wipes in the ascalon fractal. Maybe the problem here is that you are running with a subpar group.
I forget to add like on level 50+ of fractal, i know it is still possible but it requires much more skill then standing in one spot and facerolling keyboard with warrior . Maybe we also need higher value of thoughnes against pve mobs to let ppl tank .
Yes, you’re correct, you can’t always just stand in one spot.
We don’t need people being able to tank, that’s not what GW2 is about. Tanking is obsolete, that’s why you have active defenses such as dodge, aegis, and reflects, etc.
