…ok so you changed the title but the topic is still the same boils down to this you say : why do people stop at the finish line to help others and let them get their title and why do they get mad at me for winning. Answer people generally like to help others that are finding a certain task difficult to do this in no way means you have to help anyone, feel free to do what you want, but think; the way you are treated is directly related to the way you treat others. This does not excuse their behavior its never right to sink to someone else’s level to get even just be the better person and move on and provided all you did was win this is not how you would be treated. I have won my fair share of games w/o a word and have let others win even more games, to me its all about the fun I have in the race not what number I get in the finish. If someone is struggling I try to help if I can, but again you don’t have to do this, but people will treat you the way you treat them in almost all cases and seeing how this seems to be more than one person I hardly think all the blame lies with them. Just be nice to others and they will be nice to you that’s it case closed.

………….How many threads are you going to make about this, once the devs close your last thread you make another one? Look some people are naturally …well lets say socially awkward, but ever stop to thing maybe its the way you treat others? I have yet to see people call others names especially anything considered bad just for winning there is more to this than you are letting on. There are enough races that if someone loses one they move on they don’t constantly stay to harass the person that won 1 race, they would have many many people winning over them so why is it just you they do this to im sure your not the only one winning races? If you don’t feel like helping others fine, that is your decision; however this alone wont provoke the kind of treatment your discussing. Treat others the way you wanted to be treated is my best advise.

Sorry, but I feel this needs said, so here is a story for you all. Back in high school our soccer team was undefeated, not a single goal scored against us all season. Shorty after the season ended we had a exhibition match against a team that had never won a single game that season. When we arrived that reason became clear to us seeing that one of their players was handicapped. Despite this his team mates didn’t treat him with distain or disrespect, in fact quite the opposite they were all smiling and cheering him on. Seeing this there were 2 responses possible, first being hey guys look this is an easy win lets crush them and finish this fast. The second being a feeling of respect despite being at a obvious disadvantage the will tenacity to push forward still trying their best. Once we saw this we decided to do the right thing; we started the game playing not set out to crush them and not just saying here you have this win either; we went out there to have fun and help teach moves and skills to help them in the future. Despite all our efforts to help and teach this still proved to much for the handicapped kid to handle so we used some faints and made it possible for the kid to score a goal. That team ran to their teammate offering congratulations and support like we had never seen scoring that goal made him so happy he almost started crying. Were we upset that we lost our first goal all season? No, it actually felt more like a win than the others. After the game the opposing teams parents and coaches approached us crying; they explained to us that was the first and only goal that kid had ever made and seeing that kind of sportsmanship was something that had not seen before. My point here is when is helping someone or being a good sport ever a bad thing? True winners don’t need the points on the scoreboard to be winners they know they are and that’s good enough for them. So while it is up to a person if they will help or not please don’t criticize or put down those trying to help others; after all it is a game and games are supposed to be fun. That being said good luck and have fun!

so shortbow may as well now be a melee wep with any skills being able to close the gaps. what is the point of a “ranged” wep with no “range” might as well just give us skills to bash people with the bow instead of shooting projectiles….sarcasm?

Yet another person who doesn’t read I AM NOT CALLING ATTENTION TO THE THREAD BY CALLING THEM OUT USING WORDS SUCH AS: ANET, DEVS, GM, OR AND STAFF MEMBERS NAME! If asking a question without calling attention to it is against the rules its a grey area and they would close the thread; as such I have not demanded nor engaged in calling anyone out. I know this has been the topic of a lot of threads which has lead to a few questions that have been brought up not never clearly answered, any clarity would be nice but I can understand if it cant be answered.

1 Are there factors that help or hurt your rng chance at character/account creation

2 If 1 is true with it remain with that said factor or multiplier or will it change over time

3 in future of gw2 will hard work >rng be common or balanced or rng > hard work

That being said I know you cant please everyone, but still really enjoy the game; thank you for the hard work put into making this game, listening to our constructive criticisms, and trying to allow most everyone to have fun. This is a question about RNG thread plz no complaints there are many other threads for that.

YOU can SCREAM NERF all you want but w/o increasing something those are only 2 builds left so how about some constructive criticism instead of just nerf thief into extinction you got builds for every class that can easily destroy thief as it is now. If everyone thinks thief is so easy roll one when you get sick of dying go back to d/d, bunker/ret guard, BM ranger, Ber Mesmer, and YES war can easily roll a thief.

^ try running it you will find you lose alot of power doing this and only real way to do dmg is conditions with the reveal debuff in place. To follow up your suggestion is to cripple thieves even more, so they only got one viable build left? Yes take away all perma thieves and leave only semi stealth thieves with single target burst which people hate just as much!

I will agree perma stealth is annoying but what are they actually doing ex running around using all their initiave for stealth?
1 if the break stealth to attack not only are they going to get reveal an do poor dmg due to running complete initiave stealth build, they also lose the ability to call them perma stealth because leaving stealth isn’t perma.
2 Easy fix and would probably make most happy don’t let stealth stop a cap in progress, problem solved.
3 also think making thief more useful in other areas of the game would limit thieves running this, but probably not entirely; trolls will be trolls, but it will help a lot.

by ubisoft assassin do you mean AC as I assume you do? If so that assassin doesn’t stealth all that much, just the abilities to do other things such as blend in, make clones, ect. which would make the thief more fun while taking all the focus off of the highest power or most stealth builds we see now. that would be funny the ability to turn into the form of an ally, such as guards spirit wep, rangers pet, mesmers clone, I know in advance this wouldn’t work as not everyone has allies but would still be fun to think about.

Lol so if you read I got no problems dealing with thief or memser on ele.,ranger, guard, or even necro so save you l2p advise for yourself since you cant seem to deal with the “stealth” mechanic of thief; thus why you complain and troll so much. one of these days when you make a smart comment based on actually READING something I might listen , but till then have fun trolling; done wasting my time and energy trying to make someone who cant/wont even read understand.

LOL thank you, but no, I am sick of this Mesmer bhagwad.4281 calling thieves cowards in duels when he is running cheapest duel class basically he is just a troll that’s wants some attention; but still hard for the pot to call the kettle black when mesmers were made to duel. I got no issues tearing mesmers or thieves apart its all on how you play and use your skills given to you fyi for the 3rd time I play all classes and stopped playing thief after this was determined to be their 2 roles. I prefer ranger to wvw roam and ele ranger necro for pvp. I used to like thief and want to eventually play it again w/o class being ripped to shreads by people who don’t understand the mechanics of the thief. I would really like to see some thief improvements in other areas of the game so people will stop complaining about thief in wvw, but guess what, with what you left them cant really blame them for doing what they got left to do. Is it fun to do I guess for some trolls it is but average player will find other areas of the game and wvw far more beneficial as a whole to them and everyone else.

YES MOA MOPRH IS used in DUELS so is your stealth, block, spammable clones, mass dmg, conditions galore, and immobilize only your not getting the fact im not trying to compare stealth only you would think that for obvious reason im comparing your lack of common knowledge. Mesmer is the most stacked 1v1 class in HIDING from combat by use of CLONES and what stealth you do have as target breakers not to mention your MOA MORPH which IS used in duels; so keep trolling elsewhere we are tired of hearing you complain while hiding behind your arsenal that is Mesmer! SO QUIT calling others cowards when you are in fact worse in DUELS.

LOL warriors can wreck thieves and people cant seem to grasp this, just because thieves have stealth you know the backstab is coming and in what timeframe. Smart wars use aoe hammer then hb and thief is dead or ran away (if they are good) before they can land first hit. All power and limited stealth or all Stealth and limited power. I run rangers and no thief can touch me in wvw; friend of mine runs guard same story. Play a thief you know what to expect from them and eles can destroy thieves without them even needing to come out of stealth with their movement and extreme dmg/aoe. ALL classes have a thief counter comes down to player skill.

I said other viable in OTHER areas; stealth is FINE the way it is SERIOUSLY? stealth is meaningless in pve as enemies attach you even in stealth. SO leave give us some aspects to make stealth what it is stealth. As for taking away burst what good is a thief that can only do sustain with REVEAL each time its meaningless.

^ this is the most anyone would agree too and even that is pushing it since their use of the one build is EXTREMLY situational not not practical for anything else. I would like to see viable thief builds for other areas of the game improved to move thieves out of just their one role in wvw.

SO nerf the food or put a cap on crit dmg like pvp anything but leave stealth alone like many people have said its power or stealth not both. However if you do limit crit dmg need to buff something else.

Well idk about everyone else but if they actually gave you a way to obtain it and you just chose not to; the only person they could fault would be themselves. Most I see are people trying, but are unable to due to un seen forces like random drop. Giving an abc = what you want; means you just have to do it, taking away all chance means you work for something, you are rewarded for it, but again just my opinion.

cant compare pvp and wvw, wvw I can see it more in wvw because of the non restrictions of attacks and the allow of food and such, even so it isn’t likely w/o something else, but that isn’t so in pvp. Not to mention ele can do insane burst and sustain while hitting 1-2 skills to be at full health with crazy condition removal and mobility and don’t need stealth to 3v1.

I guess that is very true, but there has to be a better way than people with luck get all the good stuff while people w/o simple have to learn to deal with it? Guess the question is do you reward with slow progression such as tickets or tokens; even then you might people claim they don’t have the time to do that I guess. I like the vender for the wings but don’t see how its possible to get 100 jorbreakers I been working hours daily and am sitting at 4 jorbreakers maybe 10 I could see but 100 I hope it was a mistake. But something like that works great I would think any other ideas?

im sure you heard lp2 a lot but since no top players are running thief and ones that are are getting owned by the others that is ex your issue. Look at the top leaderboards you will find ele, Mesmer, necro, guard, engi, and ranger. You will not find any even just ok players getting one shotted no matter what. If you want to count a match between top tier thief and new war running full zerker then sure with 25 stacks of might and 25 stacks of vunerable on war and a few other factors you might get close to an instant kill but still not a good argument.

if people wanted sustain and no stealth they would roll war or ranger stop making thief into your class

right and theres a vid of thieves hitting over 30k in wvw doesn’t mean they are not cheating haven’t seen one thief in any tourney at all hit anywhere near that. Have over 3k tourney played with 4/8 classes with their tourney title. But to each their own look at any high ranked tourney or ask any good pvp player; thieves cannot instakill in pvp that’s all there is to it.

have you tried thief in pvp? I don’t know how thieves are doing it in wvw but pvp thief don’t instakill anyone or anything period. The wvw thieves may be using something that is not supposed to be there cheats ect in which case they will be banned for it; it would not be the first time people did dumb stuff in wvw and got in trouble for it remember the orbs? Anyway its not possible to instakill by any means at all in spvp as a person who plays thief ele mesmer and ranger in pvp I can tell you for a fact it isn’t possible, but I play fairly and don’t cheat so cant speak for those that don’t play fair. Food has a lot to do with wvw power and crits but still no reason to nerf the one thing a class is good at.

I don’t know if this is a bad idea or not, but why not make everyone happy by adding skins to the gem store and random drops? The price for direct can be increased to make it so people who don’t feel like spending that much can feel free to gamble if they wish. I like the fact that coffers drop a lot now, but I can understand people who have no positive random chance “luck” me being one of them. Just throwing ideas out there, feel free to add your opinion and disagree.

You assume by thief hate I was asking why people don’t like thieves; don’t misunderstand, by thief hate I mean constant QQ for nerfs and the nerfs that follow. People don’t like any class killing them, so what they deal with it and move on, maybe it could have been worded better, but idc if people “like” the class. Most classes can kill you better players are great with any class. Same principle with using the term boon hate.

FYI I haven’t played thief for awhile now because this low risk HIGH REWARDS = Kill 1 unskilled player maybe get one loot bag with 1boh or mat if your lucky and listen to person you killed QQ for 30 min after that or just flat out cuss you out. Instead I moved onto spvp where I get to listen to people QQ how op ele and ranger are; in the end the skilled player wins there is no shortage of counters for thieves if you actually played one you would know that. Moving on waiting for an actual reason to hate other than because thief is a thief and we think its unfair.

As far as the auto attack that 3 targets every class has that and it doesn’t do much dmg for the short range but I guess that cluster bomb makes up for all the others classes spammable aoe tag skills. Also forget to mention that if you in a zerg and rely on cluster to do any dmg you are running a ber Initiative build which doesn’t allow for much return fire from opposing zerg.

lol you wouldn’t be here complaining about thieves if they were able to tag well they would just jump into the zerg along with everyone else and you wouldn’t even notice them. To make this more easy to understand; what is it you want, ill make a list:
1 if you nerf Initiative for heartseeker and stealth spam you will get more backstab thieves…wait I thought you didn’t like those.
2 if you nerf backstab or dmg you will get more stealth spam thieves….wait you don’t like those either.
3 if you nerf stealth you get dead class stealth skills become useless and takes an act of god to land any hits….this is what you want….why not just ask for thief class removed to save you the step by step destruction of the class.

Yes I can say this because I run all classes and it comes down to war for pve just stand there and hit 2 till everything is dead. Mesmer for pvp because no1 can keep you target locked before they are dead. Thief and ranger for solo roaming; with guard for dungeon and fotm. Leaving necro for killing mobs for loot. I leave out ele because its good at everything and d/d is op no matter how you want to say it easily 3v1 in pvp and wvw. Don’t want to bring up other class to incite more nerfs to that one either im sure you know what it is gets as many nerfs as thief despite being most bugged class.

I can agree to a point, but rewarded what? we can kill 1 player in wvw that’s it? So we got easier time maybe collecting one bag from wvw drop if anything drops? Look at how other classes are rewarded for tagging enemies in mass cant really say we are getting rewarded unless you count a 1v1 victory against someone not even paying attention a reward, I wouldn’t call it one. This is only in wvw, we cant farm pve for mass rewards like any other class either, so think about it we are least rewarded class.

My question: the players that were patient and did the Dragon Ball achievement get nothing for their hard work or troubles? I can agree about taking it out of the meta for the achievement, but to not do anything for the players that did it…..a bonus chest, a few jorbreakers, anything?

…because this isn’t wow if you want wow thief run war with stealth kits!

SO basically all I hearing is I hate thief because they can do something I cant this is just sad and fyi there is no initiave rune sigil nothing. Thieves need stealth to do stealth attacks that’s the way devs made them don’t hear me complaining about mesmers clones invulnerable morph conditions ect, guards constant blocks, necros multiple life bars, wars ability to roll anything in pve while just standing there the list goes on and on. So I guess if they gave thieves spammable clones blocks ex life and heal we wouldn’t need stealth would we but we wouldn’t be thieves we would be lame copies of your classes. Try being honest with yourself how many people couldn’t kill a thief if they saw you coming from far away and you were running ber build w/o stealth. Don’t complain about something that isn’t broken.

all I got to say is lol learn to play thief before trying to critique it. As far as the rest goes go right ahead and spam 2 you will be out of initiative with nothing to show for it since its weaker than auto attack above 50% health. Then there are the war and guard and ranger that can run full tank and still dish major dmg with little effort. As for your theory on traits traiting spam initiative really hurts your dmg output only reason people trait this is for lots of stealth; and finally we come to the last part here ill show you STEAL “Shadowstep TO YOUR FOE and steal from them” NOT BEHIND THEM and since when does dodge or evade have to LAND. Getting behind target is all on thief there is no magic button to appear behind someone and if there was any ok player would know the bs was coming and DODGE, EVADE, INVUNERABLE, OR BLOCK also FEAR AT YOUR OWN LOCATION DOESNT REQUIRE TARGET NONE OF THESE DO! On top of that there is a thing called Ber/Moa morph Mesmer that runs same ex dmg with little effort and almost no risk due to mass clones and stealth oh yah forgot to mention they have aoe dmg too not just single target dmg. This lack of basic knowledge is amazing; in PVE the enemies still attack you even when you STEALTH they don’t stop because you are stealthed…so stop treating invisibility as oh know I cant see them that means they are invincible.

So your answer is hate thief for being a thief what a great idea, if it wasn’t nerfed into 1 area and 2 builds you might have less QQ from people getting owned by roam thieves. Long story short you don’t want to be owned by a thief either PLAY GOOD or stick to your ZERG. If thieves could roll pve like any other class you wouldn’t find so many roaming wvw but alas that’s only thing you left them with; so its your fault deal with it. No matter how much you want thief to be a single target war it will always be a thief so better come up with we hate thief because it can do something we cant aka thief is thief.

To be honest I quit reading once you started going on how thieves were OP; like I said the QQ brought thieves to this. Seriously look at pve stealth is useless:
1 doesn’t reset agro tables bringing me to point 2
2 OH NO I am almost dead ill stealth …..TOO BAD enemies keep attacking you while you are in stealth
3 PVP has no issues killing off thieves and constant stealth is pointless since you cant cap nodes that way
4 you wonder why you are getting killed by thieves in wvw anymore here is your answer that ONLY thing left to do

Real point here is your wont get insta killed NO MATTER WHAT unless you are running full zerker and even then you really have to have no idea what to do, be afk, or not paying attention to not see a thief coming. Seems that lots of people don’t have issues killing thieves in wvw even now any good Bunker/ Retaliation Guard, Ber Mes Beast Master Ranger, Semi Tank HB War, D/D Ele, or even Necromancers have no issues at all. Do thieves need more QQ to incite more hate and nerfs no; they need something else they can actually do with their character. If your only argument is people hate thieves for being thieves that’s kinda pointless. Do you hate birds for being birds? Thieves have 3 seconds of stealth and who cant see a thief from 3 seconds away not to mention they have to get to you , get behind you, and land their backstab. There are things such as BLOCK, INVUNERABLE, DODGE, FEAR, EVADE, KNOCKBACK, KNOCKDOWN, STUN, IMOBALIZE, I think I made my point. As for the rest of wvw when is the last time you saw a zerg of thieves taking your tower/ garrison ect. They have good SINGLE target dmg only so you cant say thieves should go do something else when they CANT.
