Elemental Contingency gives the Elementalist access to Retaliation. That’s huge.
No, it’s minor. Eles aren’t facetanks, they’re built to either cc the enemy or avoid being hit. If they take enough hits for retaliation to become useful, they’re gonna lose the fight.
If you’ve ever fought a DPS Guardian, you’ll see just how strong Retal can be on a DPS build. DPS Guards are very squishy yet they get a lot of mileage of damage out of having Retal.

dps guardian can survive longer than dps ele making Retaliation more viable, and i consider its a fail if you want to get hit if you are dpsing with an ele
some extra health wont be bad, also if they can make traits with health threshold more viable like final shielding – Arcana III rise it up from 25% like to 50% and make it benefit from aura traits, most because you can get downed like from 40% to 0 in a serious fight

actually…. Stoning combined with Stone Heart will be really op, since you won’t get crit damage that mean 50% of regular attacks will be glancing you because of weakness inflicted for 3s
i think they can put some aoe on fire and water scepter 2 that slow, freeze, chills or immobilize enemies so the have to dodge instead just walk away
or they can make skills like fire scepter 2 and water staff 2 follow the enemy to land on them until reaching certain range no matter if they move from the initial area
hmmmm… some free upgrade extractor won’t be a bad idea

Except it’s hard to kill fast in earth. I guess you could do bleeds with scepter and a condition build, but you have little cover conditions.
you can always use fgs, frost bow or hammer to dps
i was checking what is planned for elementalist like the new elite skill and aquatic benevolence, and i really have to say… no thanks
i was thinking what can be really useful for elementalist and i realize how auras are very helpful for elementalist, because elementalist is the class more benefited from auras….
fire magic IX – fire’s embrace
air magic I – zephyr’s boon
earth magic V- elemental shielding
water magic XII- powerful aura
arcane magic IX- arcane resurrection
and im not considering combos or runes
so why not adding a new skill “Aura Mastery” (elite skill or grandmaster trait), preferably something that grants one extra aura while your other sources are in CD like while switching attunements
so what do you think?

same, not getting loot from knights after patch
you fail has a elementalist if you think playing a mesmer for a long range mage is better
if you are having problems fighting vs more than 1 enemy just remember to change attunements and slow/push/stun/root other enemies, also summon elementals can help vs mobs, specially earth elemental,
if you need to run elementalist cant cowardly hide and run like thieves or mesmers, so you need to use mist form, obsidian flesh, armor of earth, etc; also remember elementalist can use healing skills with any weapon (except focus) in case you already used the healing skill
damage depends on your build, if you are considering thief has a high damage 1vs1 elementalist can easily get close or better with d/d, and i think elementalist have the highest aoe direct damage in the game, you only need to know where and when to cast your meteor shower, ice storm, churning earth, eruption or any other long cast aoe
churn bomb sounds interesting, a very good initial damage + 8 stacks of bleeding
but still i prefer meteor shower stacking adding some ccs, slowing and rooting… and a mesmer for time warp
putting more warnings and red circles sounds like GW2 for Dummies, anyway your superior rams cant dodge it
The benefits of arcane traits IV, V and VI should go into one, is too much redundancy one slot for each trait, since anyway only one can benefit at a time and will make weapon swap faster while not in combat.
Well except for IV + VI combo, but it will be nice have that just in 1 trait.
at least you could speed meteor shower cast, then aoe cc enemies, still prefer fgs
all changes in fire looks great, ill just prefer to keep fire II in adept tier more than VII
air V i really dont find useful having a healing spec in general, but if i had to make one i will not use any stats combitation whit crit chance, is like a joke so idc abot that change, air XI looks great
earth V its a nice buff, VII kinda going to miss that 10% more damage whit 5 dagger skill, XI looks interesting have to check how it works
Water I moved to master tier just like other elemental attunements not big deal for me cause not a healer; V going to miss this for condition removal specially for moving arcane V to master tier; water VIII dont care really, and X moved to adept seems to be a better option than III
arcane III always sound to me like a waste for dps, specially if u are trying to get hit to gain the buff; IV seems a nice cd reduction just if u can rise up the hp limit like 33%; arcane V same like water V going to miss this for condition removal combitating this 2 whit water XI; Arcane VI dont sound really useful for me so idc, i would prefer to have arcane X or air II; Arcane VII, VIII and IX looks a great idea moving it to adept tier
finally, the attunement cd reduction looks great
