Who do you say that, first queue is eternals, even if there are <10 ppl on the borderlands eternals has from time to time a queue. Thats so kitten ^ ^
dunno what you are trying to say its hard for me to understand your post, btw im not referring to prime time im talking about late at night/early morning we have a queue in eb literally 24/7 when we could be making much more points from the borderlands late at night. If u mean to say that ofc the first thing people do is queue to eb so i should just accept that, it is true but people on ts can move to bl and just leave the pugs in eb to defend stuff that is all that is needed in eb late at night cept a scout or two on ts
yep, that’s more or less what I meant. to be honest, i expect SFR to try to push BB down to place three. would be make more sense concerning the current leader points. bb is still a danger for you, rs for sure not. especially if you look at all the remaining matches. ;-) curious what will happen next week, i expect rs to be sandwiched pretty heavy ^^

Put so much work into collecting them. It is so depressing. I have no legendary or so, I dont like to farm. I put in pretty much every bit of gold I had. And now :/ Never bet on anet…
regarding double teaming baruch bay we were almost exclusively playing in eb last night focusing riverside valley wp while baruch bay was capping everything in the borderlands we had
last night – and it seems as if tonight too – you give a lot of attention on rs territory while bb is capping your stuff, I was already wondering if you noticed bb is now on 2 and we are no longer on 1 ;-)
I must make a question to the people of SFR and RS, what do you think about the performance of BB? are you surpised or not.
What do you mean with performance? Better coverage? ^^ Well that was expected from RS pov ;-) Personally I have not seen anything extraordinary so far.

Dont like it. Right now I can cover my conditions with burning no mater what way I play. This would force me to use LB. I’m pretty sure that this trait would be pretty useless. Depends on the actual numbers. But you would take away so much flexibility, that I cannot see any good in it…
Close Matchup so far, hopefully till then end, but i think midweeks SFR will push the hell out us;-)

There is one thing I like to inform you about and I’m not hundert percent sure nor I have detailed information. But at ~4 o’clock in the morning I saw two enemies running along wildcreek, so I descide to leave our eternal keep and take a look. In the moment I arrived there two warriors killed a doly. After that they completly ignored the camp and run into the dredge. I attacked them in that moment, but they ignored me. As if that was not strange enough they run exact the same path and casted the same skill in exact the same moment. I first did not realize and we were also under your attack in that moment so I had to abort. It all went a bit fast… I have no guildtag or something like that and I’m absolutly not sure about. Maybe the two are reading this if I’m wrong or maybe someelse noticed this too?. I just want to inform you that there may be a doly bot or someone is dualboxing… Just keep an eye out!

Well you cannot even blame an individual from my pov. The problem is on anets side.
The dynamic aspect ratio was a design decision for pve and multiscreen support. The hole engine seems not to be made for wvw at all. For a competitive gamemode it can be very contraproductive, like it is now. It was a big failure to upgrade ac’s range without a fixed aspect ration. But I dont think they will change something soon, because they never ever gave a comment on that. 4k screens will be the common resolution in some years from now, so they have to deal with it sooner or later. you cannot really expect those players to lower their resolution just because the majority does not have it.
Symbol of Swiftness
To clarify the new Symbol of Swiftness will give you 4 seconds of Swiftness every single pulse regardless of if you have swiftness or not. This is a improvement in many situations and a slight loss in the situation where you were using the Symbol as just a one time buff. I think this makes it feel more like a Symbol, which is good. We are still discussing the idea of it being 5 seconds, but there is some danger of that going pretty high with boon duration.

Some internal thoughts on the discussion about Necromancers.
I think the preview changes are ok. But after reading your post I’m deeply worried that you guys dont really know how to make the necromancer a more viable and diverse class. And that worries me very much – I for myself dont have an answer too, but I still have some hope left :/
Just one thing I have a wish for: greater marks. Please consider a split for pvp and pve/wvw. From my pov normal marks are so rediculous in pve (open world) and wvw.
I think that was one of the worst decisions that could be taken. I love the staff, but since the master patch its just sad. I play a lot WvW as well as PvE and in both areas is the standard mark size too small. In PvE I encounter only half of the mobs compared to before/with trait, most are just little out of range. In WvW, where these days every second player is a guardian, I encounter not only half as much, it will also one half be blocked. The problem is also, that 2 and 4 is much harder to utilize for yourself. As also combo 3+4 is pretty hard to succeed, especially if you also try to throw back conditions and keep moving… And as you said yourself you can hit 5 foes and alies, but I doubt this happens outside of pvp or zergs very often.
Compared to other two-handed weapons, without traits? Completely underground ….
edit: after thinking a bit about those two problematic lines:
blood magic – healing is a problematic thing in gw2, because of the missing trinity. however i think their is a great chance for team builds. since blood magic goes along with vitality i think some kind of team healing / healing over time would be great. but it has to be very effective (like water+explo) and the tradeoff is that you have to pay with your own lifepool for it. a team base line could be a great solution for some probs i guess.
death magic – biggest design flaw of the nec are its minions. minions were really great in gw1, but of course this kind of system would not work. i have only one idea on that : maybe with a hugh content patch you could introduce some kind of reduced ranger pet system, just with risen creatures. that would allow you to give us more options on what those minions can do.

I think this is the result of (a) good orga (like your posts suggest) and (b) mostly making first place. I guess if you would always be second or third it would turn around quickly, but then again (a) can help…
It’s true that we’ve never been in a failure situation (even tho some can argue that it was failure when SFR was stomping this late summer, or when we called them SFR2.0, or SFR or BT, or FSP …). But it was a long construction and capitalization on the virtuous circle of winning.
I can’t emphasize enough the atmosphere on Vizu in WvW : it’s fun, relaxed, happy, positive, serious, free, organised, friendly, motivating … all of this at the same time.Just do me one favor, if you know you are superior. Try to be fair with your victims in the momentum of domination and don’t influence too much who make second and third.
No matchup is ever won before it started. We have strategic priorities as long as our rank in the matchup is not guaranteed. In this league, the only time it happened longer than a weekend was against SFR. We needed them in third place.
JS and Barush fought for the second place last week without any intervention from Vizu. You two will do the same. What matters is our first place, we don’t have to decide who comes next.
Well there are 7,3 million native french canadiens and 1.3 in america, so your calculation is not quite correct. It is <87%, whats a lot ^^
May I ask what those “strategic priorities” for this matchup were? Riversnake in third place was one of them I guess ? ;-)

I’m still curious what the numbers of oversee wvw players really are. There are so many french speaking people in those time zones that I cannot believe that you “have not many people on other time zones”. Would be interesting if you could count nation flags on your teamspeak at 3-4 am. But after all, we will never really know, because anet sadly wont tell us those numbers :/

Our sever play on the green border since the start and I did not had the feeling we are less people, but I may be wrong. It is pretty hard to tell, beacuse most people on our server run everywhere except on the commander xD

And finally, my last suggestion! Although I consider this one to be the most important.
This final solution is a way to stop the Landslide at a certain point. So instead of going all the way down the mountain like we see, it is stopped midway on the mountain, and not allowed to proceed further. However, while my other suggestions were small changes, this final suggestion would drastically alter WvW. (Aka, a lot of work to program and such.)The 4-Matchup Solution
Reasoning: My reasoning was simple. I asked myself: What is a way to stop the Landslide effect from effecting all aspects of the matchup, having extreme repercussions to everyone playing. And it came to me, break up the segments of the day, so that one does not negatively impact another. So I split up the 24 day into 4 different time periods.
The way this would work, is that each segment of time is considered a different matchup, and so score in one segment would have no effect on that of another segment.
Implementation: So we start by dividing the day into 4 segments. I like using
- Segment 1 3:00PM-9:00PM
- Segment 2 9:00PM-3:00AM
- Segment 3 3:00AM-9:00AM
- Segment 4 9:00AM-3:00PM
Now I understand that reset (for NA) falls in between a segment, but I believe it is manageable.
So after we split up our timezones, we make each one its own separate matchup. What this means is that everything that happens in one timezone has absolutely zero consequences in another timezone. After every 6 hours, the match experiences a mini-reset, where the previous data is stored, and the data from the upcoming segment is restored, starting where you last left off in that matchup. So a server has a possibility to win in 4 different timezones.
Now, the added twist, that really makes it a good system. Each segment has its own specific matchup. The segments have their own opponents, who are unrelated to the server’s other segments. Each segment has its own rating, and so each time segment faces a balanced (as much as possible) opponent for that timeslot.
This allows for servers to be competitive in a specific timezone, and not have to worry about being nightcapped or anything like that. If they stack NA primetime and nothing else, they can still be strong and compete, and not depend on offhours coverage to secure a win. This also allows a server to say without a doubt that they are number 1 in a specific timezone, because every other timeslot has no bearing on that specific timeslot’s performance.
During the downtime, while waiting for Segment 1 to come back into play, the score hasn’t been ticking. It only ticks when gameplay is active.
This idea is the greatest thing I have ever read. Because even the smallest server can cover 6 hours of war I guess. I would just suggest to shift it one hour into the front, so people have time to come home from work.
Just now it is 4 o’clok in the morning and vizu destroyed everything with tons of omegas against outnumbered…. And this will happen every day I guess. It is very frustating to build up everything again and again each day. It pretty much ruins the gamemode in every way. Option (a) make night raid significantly less points lucrative (12 hr fight, lick wounds 12 h) (b) extremely limited number of players at night
edit: It is not realy on the topic, but I think if two servers constantly focus on one server on its own homemap, then it is realy hard to stand the ground, because you run out of mats sooner or later. (especially if their are queues and you cannot use the other maps.) from my pov a server should be superior on it’s home. what I think would be great is some kind of gate from the spawn that can only be attacked by the map owner and some kind of a private supply camp right behind. To make it short, on the home you have not enough supply and much to long way (take eternal as example, that is just perfect when it comes to mats and the way to run)
edit2: p. 10 in this thread read all 6 posts or have look two post below. why I did even take the time to write myself. it is all said in their! now go and solve it :P
edit3: What also could help is a significant reward for targeting stronger opponents. One big problem I see as a result of imbalance is that the strongest server can decide who will be the target. Right now there is no point reward for taking upgraded things or attacking the leading server in general. E.g. taking down a waypoint should give 1k or something like that. Smallscale can generate significant points, but right now large®scale is very ineffective. Also defending T3’s over half a day against two opponents constantly pushing does also not give any points. And they will not stop, because why the heck the weakest server should attack the strongest servers T3’s with full of mats…

So if you spend a lot of time and gold into collecting them it is indeed very frustating to see those hard work loosing its value even if you dont bought them for speculation.
I hope that those promised improvments to miniatures will change it, but right now I’m pretty disapointed…
Necromancers have a tough time looking for great weapon skins – the sunless set would be so great to have a chance, but it is so rare I dont think there isn’t really any except pure luck :/
Oh, a minuscule part of the community have said something in a thread (where quite a few of the posts actually are in favor of the buff no less) is sure a good indicator about how the community as a whole feel.
The community is MUCH bigger than the forum-goers. And even by only counting forumites it is a rather small minority that have posted in that thread.
Absolut, in a forum and in such a post you will generally find the unhappy people. The happy people simply have no reason to show up
Right now, you will have the opportunity at the start of a season to rethink how your characters are set up and to spend your points accordingly, without feeling like you are forever bound to your choices. But, because you can’t just back out of them whenever, they have more weight. That’s why we have done what we have.
So there is a reset for every season?
So with first season we ca “Re-Spend Your World Ability Points”. But whats with the following seasons? Will there be a reset to? I really like to explore more lines, but since we cannot reset I only take what I assume fits my playstyle in most cases. That we cannot reset from time to time is really sad. E.g. I dont use siege anymore… Not too often, but just sometimes! For diversity!
Please let us know before the first season start if this will be for every season or not. Thanks!

From my understanding every design decision is purly taken with only the wvw mechanic in mind. Absolutly nothing else matters here. I think they made that pretty clear – more than once.

w2-1 much better now. however, if you die in the moment you kill the end boss and if you then need to insert a coin you are not able to get the chest in time… that sucks..
I like it. New content, new mechanic. Supporting small scale skirmish. That’s exactly what I missed a little bit. I’m so happy to get something like that.

Just keep in mind you design content for absolutly everyone. So tribulation mode can be near impossible, but the default mode should even be achievable for the housewife next door. From my personal experience with w2z1 I think at least one more re-enterable checkpoint would solve a lot of frustation.
As developer you often loose the distance to your own project, so maybe take the worst SAB player of anet and take him/her as a reference?

So my experience: First world release, awesom. Loved it immediatly.
Now second world release… My experience was like that:
Entering world 2 zone 1 first time: failed… First I run out of orbs for my weapons, then out of live and at the end I was just frustated not making it through so I quit….
Todays try number two: Guess what, right now I’m stucked behind a wall….
So to break it down, two hours lost and that’s really not what a first experience of new content should be…
Edit: Tried it again, but after the water took me away I gave up for today. Right now I’m not even sure if I will try world 2 again… It’s just, I play to relax and have some fun, but….

There are not much information. I realy like the idea, gives a reason to fight for your server and dont juts farm wxp. However, from the information we have I dont see how this wont cause massive chaos through transfers…
And what did you plan for the case that some ppl, groups transfer to top server and than back after the season has started to disturb those server? I see a lot of abuse there… I.e. siege everywhere…

tried it out some hours in various group size, basically same armor and traits, just little bit more balanced ascended stuff. I really like to be able to combine confusion with burning and all those other conditions we already spam. it’s just nice to back them up with another condition and confusion is such powerfull :-)
I also agree that such a build only plays out in small scale, so targets can be spiked and epedemic timed. still prefere pure power for bigger scale, since there is too much condition fluctuation for pure condition builds. but since anet is not able to fix the rune of the strength for nearly a year now, i will play around with this one. I bet perplexity will get a “fix” very soon ^^
ps: any chance you can give me a hint/traits for the ranger build? i have a friend playing very casually, he has no plan from his class and i think as a tank you cannot do that much wrong – from the video it seems very tanky ^^

That was fast! Awesome, thank a lot! Your stat distribution looks pretty solid. Focusing is and will be always a problem for a nec, but thats the tradoff for dealing dmg and I’m pretty good in suriving.
May you share your stats or gear? and traits?

The usability is horrible. I bought a lot of dyes, of course i want to test them and i just thought: if it would just be the other way around, first select the armor parts and keep it selected and then click a dye….
Sadly ui design is not state of the art and has many heavy usability flaws – sry guys, but pls spend some time/money here :-)

Should be as options under settings. Loved to tab target in gw1, but in gw2 it’s just clunky…
Did you guys notice: seraph archer and seraph medic use the absolute same model, even in color. only the weapon is another one…. i could not belive my eyes when i found out. set 2 seems to be a lot about the money….
I think an UI icon would be overshot. From my point of view there are just two things need to be done:
First they need to be re-activated automatically after you leave the water and even better after down state, because in wvw this is a common state…
And second thing is, they need to get some more love. It could not be that the majority of them cannot swim, even if they represent a water animal… As also set 2 is just a slap in the face to miniatures lovers. I have the feeling it is mostly just to make money with gems… E.g. “mini seraph archer” and “mini seraph medic” absolute same model, only weapon differs. Nothing else, not even the kitten armor color… Seriously A-Net?
What about that not one of set 2 (except at least one exotic) work underwater..? It is intended behavior that a moa can swim, but natural water pets can’t?

There are a lot more minis of set 2 that live by nature in the water… I doubt a moa does.
And even if the two exotics work underwater it is just a shame with what loveless stuff they try to milk the monez….

I could live with blocks, even if in WvW it 50% blocked. But the size :/ It’s not only that you miss most targets, like I explained above, the problem is also, that 2 and 4 is much harder to utilize for yourself. And if you dont agree, just compare staff with other weapons. It’s a mess… Right now I always cry out if I drop a mark…
