personally i dont really light arc lighting, it’s way too weak to be a sustained dmg
i was thinking to change fresh air for some other traits which allows me to deal more dmg to stunned targets or even air reductions
most of the time when it’s activated and i switch to air my air atunement skills are still on cd.
it’s only good with the lighting strike dmg
which to me…seems like a waste
or am I not doing this right?

In WvW, you can still roam extremely well
…^ Roaming is basically the only thing you can do as a thief in WvW.
only because wvw players suck at dueling
but as soon as you run into a half decent player…well disengage
still good for scouting and running around though

I’m certainly adventuring in dangerous zone here… but what about a shadow refuge nerf?I mean everybody cry over thief excess stealth. But I don’t think their strenght is there…
The real pain is Thief continuous reset ability. And what allow it? -> shadow refuge…
I cant count the number of time I dueled Thief and they shadow refuge 5 to 10 times in a duel… And they finally get a lucky strike and win the duel… If the thief is playing badly he should be punished by not having a panic button ready to save his kitten every 45 sec.
You would say it would be the end of thief right? No, I would gladly revert lots of unneeded change for this. Thief should go in the line with all those zerker profession and not stay low risk high reward profession. You may say it is high risk high reward… but except maybe warrior (not so sure on after patch warrior), thief is the easiest zerker profession.
If you play badly you will loose badly, like all other profession…
I’m just trying to get the thief community opinion on this as I know alot of thief that dislike relying on this skill to be sucessful.
Finally, I don’t want to frustrate anybody about this, I’m just seeking the general thief opinion about that.

You guys are doing this all wrong. Anet doesn’t have to do anything because people are just complaining about this stupid map. I don’t know why they haven’t removed it, but it’s clear they aren’t going to unless you force the issue. What this means is that you have actually stop playing this stupid map. By that, I mean AFKing, DCing, or just YOLOqueing Team Arena. If Anet sees a good number of people actively resisting the map, to the point where SoloQ actually suffers, then they might do something about it. Until then, this thread is just dumb noise, easy to handwave away with “LOL BUT SOMEPPL LIKE IT”.
I recommend yolo queueing team arena! I do it all the time, the more the merrier

A thief has at least 4 options for defense: mobility, cc, evades and stealth. I have yet to see a build that does not cover at least 2 of them.That means you should always have an alternative defense even if your build is heavily reliant on stealth. In fact you should consider playing something with very low stealth access for a while. It will only make you a better player and help you deal with revealed more efficiently in the future.
why do you assume we only play thief?
hint, people play thief because they LIKE stealth mechanics not because they

Congratulations Anet! I am officially done with this weapon set, I even tried to like it but it’s literally impossible with the steal bug and getting blocked doesnt proc larcenous. You guys have single handedly managed to kill an entire weapon set. To those who are still going to play it and say it’s good? More power to you bro haha, I for one am sick of the pointless nerfs. You guys turned a great weapon set into a complete evade spam no dps piece of kitten. I called it, but no one listened and what a surprise I was right.

Lol, started using GS again and remembered why it was absolutely horrendous, GS 5 misses 90% of the time on moving targets. People do not even need to dodge they just need to move a bit and dude with gs won’t hit a thing. GS auto is a joke, HB is horrible since people never sit still, whirl means you’ll create distance from your enemy, blade trail is ok though.
GS is really a running away weapon anyways.

stealth can be labeled a resource as you need to to perfect X actions. and you have access to stealth more consistently then you do for ignore pain. And because of that, the resource of stealth should be used up, when you fail/miss/evade/block with an attack from that resource.

So with the sept patch, we see warriors adrenaline become depleted once they use the skill regardless of if they land the hit or not(evaded/blocked/missed) which in the grand scheme of balance, this is totally logical.
however, why does the same not get applied to thieves? They can attack from stealth position, and if the attack is evaded/blocked/missed they remain totally in stealth able to try try again. Where is the logic and balance of this?

I disagree with this… nerf stelth even more that is rubbish It should be there as a way of escaping um this is not a block man… the butiful with the thief is that we can move unseen for a short period if one removes that then we can all stop playing this game i will anyway stop to play this game if that happens… cus then the game is ruied and i dont say ruied for just the thief but all who can go invis will be ruied mesmer etc.
The stelth is not ruining the game its people who cant think for themeself i mean if a player with more experiance vs one with less then the experianced player often win even when one fight multiple oponents you know way becuse that player know how do evade and confuse the kitten out of the enemies that just means the herd of 5 people is less experianced and therefor can not find the experianced player this goes for all classes. i dont want to see this game being a world of warcraft copy where we stand and spam spells … the game mechanic is desigend to favor the human factor dont remove that…

Second feature pack and this map will still exists, what a huge disappointment, if they are not going to give us anything for pvp content wise at least take off this stupid map, anet loves this map so much it even queues up often compared to the other maps.

The major misconception which hasn’t reached the devs is: : we don’t want the map “Skyhammer” deleted, just removed from soloq or fix it to a level where you can compete in. Based on the gamescom interview, the devs seem to think we want the map to be deleted but what we actually want is:
Fix the broken map mechanics so that there isn’t an instant dead mechanic, bringing it in line with every other map or remove it until you have “soon” enough time to fix it; which at this point has been non-existant.

even when I have a target, it doesn’t quite hit anybody til it’s almost over

i’ve seen my phantasms attack another player after the one i targeted ran off/died/stealthed
I’ve even seen them(phantasms) remain after a while then redirect their aggression on someone else after they’ve been out of combat
it sometimes doesn’t throw out daggers if the enemies are not shooting projectiles at you
or it waits until the very end of its duration and throw out very few (2-3)
i’ve tried it on the golems in pvp and wvw and against other players…or am I missing osmething?
if mesmers can summon phantasms without a target?
how about without a target while in combat?
thieves counter mesmers so hard
although i can beat a thief 1v1, when a group fight occurs and my utilities are down, there’s just no way for a mesmer to fight a thief since u can’t target him or use your skills.

For PvP it doesn’t matter as you can always make a character of another profession in a few minutes.
None of the chances will have a noticeable impact on PvE.
WvW isn’t balanced around single players.
roaming thieves will be much harder to play with the blind powder nerf
