“Player bundles (kits, conjured weapons, banners, etc.) will now scale damage based on the rarity of the player’s equipped weapon.”
OMG OMG OMG
I run a hybrid build and generally go with Orrian Truffle Steak with Toxic Oil, FWIW.
I will say that the koi cake/pizza and crystal recommendations for pure condi builds are the right way to go though.

Also, FWIW, crafting Ascended Materials from 450-475 will save you a ton of cash if you have the mats.
Do you actually know how much ascended mats you need to refine to gain 25 levels?
At 15 silver and 4.2k karma per refinement, i wouldnt neccessarily suggest to craft more than you actually need, as they dont have any resale value either.
Well, I guess that depends on how many bladed backpacks you are making.
Karma is cheap and compared to buying or crafting insiginas (once your burn through settlers and givers) I think you still come out on top.
As you alluded, you are going to need a decent amount to craft your armor in the end anyway. I will concede that for weapons, just burning through exotic discoveries may be better.
That said, I did patiently grind 400-425 with ori, ancient, gossamer, and leather refinements.

Hey guys, I just spent $1000 on gems. Check out my new axe skin.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but for the low low price of 300 Beetletun Seals, a much nicer Golden Axe could have been yours.
It does seem odd that they go out of their way to put red flags on things that are leaving the store soon, but neglected to do that here.
I think the devs are trying to put the horse back in front of the cart with this patch and while it does not address everything (and that said, we haven’t seen the actual notes yet) it does target many of the flash point concerns with regard to horizontal and vertical elements of the game.
Additionally, not only did the LS reveal the difficulties in trying to tell a story, it exposed some weakness in the very foundations of the game. So, I also think this patch is laying a lot of new or fixed groundwork that will help season 2 be more successful; if nothing else than from an implementation and logistical standpoint (See: Megaservers addressing guesting to servers that have good numbers to complete marionette and LA events).
Agree with much of the OP and others. I will say I also miss NPC henchmen. I know there is a LFG tool, but I miss just being able to go into an instance with a ready to use party and take my time completing it.
Every dungeon/instance run is now “80+ ZERK SPEED NO [CLASS NAME]” and it is frustrating.
Also, I don’t know how to describe it, but it never felt tedious to replay GW1 content. It had a… quality I can’t put my finger on where I was okay doing certain instances over and over. Especially missions. “Today I feel like playing the mission where Rurik dies cause… why not and I can.”
HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE
Not to be a complete cynic, but man… that is so vague.
Yeah. Totally. My example was more just that a raid UI didn’t need to look like someone vomited on the screen. When I was just going around by myself or in small groups? My screen was nearly empty except for the bottom.
Agreed on all other points, otherwise.
I too greatly miss the customization of the UI available in other MMOs, or even this one’s predecessor. It would be a huge QoL win to see a change.
Idk. I’ve gotten used to seeing the game through a tunnel of UI elements above, below to the right and to the left. If I could actually see the environment around me and not feel like I’m wearing blinders like a horse, it wouldn’t feel like Guild Wars 2.
If GW2 is a “tunnel” of UI elements, then what is this?
An artist who didn’t know how to use their brush.
From 2007 when I stopped playing:
Everytime I go to Rata Sum I contrast the loading screen with the actual environment.
Also: Polymock drops mic
I’m not a supporter of this. It ruins the immersion of gameplay, especially for others.
The only way I wouldn’t mind this outside of Apr. 1 is through the Box o Fun.
Yes, because the other endless tonics that turn you into giant candy corn monsters or living toys don’t take away from “immersion”…
Given that only owning one piece of a gem store set will unlock the whole thing in your wardrobe on the 15th, I would imagine unlocking all armor levels for those skins is a safe bet to make.
A clear yes or no from a red still wouldn’t hurt though.
Traveler runes only have 3 stages committed to all-stat bonuses and they jumped from 30 points to 36 (20% gain). I think its reasonable to anticipate Divnity runes will also gain 20% (72) and possibly a smidgeon more (75).
IIRC, they also got an additional 5% boon duration from the 5th rune step. Making a full set:
+36 to all stats
+15% Boon Duration
+10% Condition Duration
+25% Movement speed
You are a terrible person.
Now, go sit in the corner and think about what you have done!
i was very excited to see the new mask, I just wish it was dyeable…
This. SO much this.
I like how people think that the bobbleheads are the extent to what ANet has planned for April 1st. You may be right, but there are a lot of hours left for other things to happen.
Teq, as requested. Trying Arah story now for Zaitan.
Well… poo…

That’s not quite the same as armor classes still retain a general look and feel that makes them discernible. Starter light still looks “light”. Running around as the mad king or father wintersday, OTOH, is a completely different situation.
I am not really for or against it, it was just a random question that popped in my head as I considered the patch.
Just a quick question.
With armor size and design often being an at a glace identifier for a class (especially heavies), will switching to an “outfit” be permitted?
Red just confirmed it will also be only 100 UnID Dyes instead of 250 after the patch.
It may have already been said, but it would be nice if the same Gem Store dye was unlocked on two characters (like two with Charred) that instead of a generic unid dye we get the dye kit for a chance at a different one in the same vein.
Getting an exact copy of that dye would be perfect/ideal, but might be a bridge too far. This seems like a somewhat reasonable compromise, even if we are at the mercy of the RNG.
Given the extensive nature of the Feature Patch, there seems to be (and I have this as well) some confusion over where general stuff goes (both posting and finding threads to join in the conversation). It may be wise to place a new (temporary) forum for this patch under either the support section so it can all be collected and people know where to go to comment. Maybe open it now and close it a few weeks after the patch so feedback can be centralized vs. flooding potentially incorrect forums with posts. I can also see this as being helpful to the devs who would also have to fish around and mods who risk drawing unnecessary ire by locking threads in the incorrect sections.
Just a thought.
Toxic Gloves and Mantle
Old Infinite Tools (Bone Pick, Dreamthistle Axe, etc…)
I agree with much that was said here. Wholly underwhelming and nothing to really invigorate or excite me out of the current engi meta.
I have to say, with what little we know of the complete package so far, this is discouraging to see for Engis. I know that I will still be running the same gear and the same build post patch unless they decided to something radical in the adept and master lines and our existing skills. There is nothing here to excite me to experiment outside of the existing meta, TBQH.
Short of turrets being completely rebuilt from the ground up (pun not intended), I cannot see how I would turn to them in any situation.
Warriors, Guardians, Eles, Thieves, and Mesmers remain the clear dev darlings, as far as I can see; Necros, Rangers, and Engis continute to be left wanting.

=)
I run a 30/20/0/20/0, full ascended celestial, full traveler, BK/GK/EG build for PvE and WvW and am quite happy with it, FWIW.
I know I could easily do much more damage with 30/30, but I like backpack regenerator, transmute, and vit & boon duration a lot for the survivability aspects.

I think it is an account wide thing, if it is.
I took a few month break that caused me to miss everything from the Karka invasion to Dragon Bash. During certain parts of the LS I had different dialog from my guild mates who had. Mostly in relation to Rox and Braham since I never met/helped them during Flame & Frost.
So, it is entirely possible that something like that exists for accounts crated after the conclusion of the event.
Silly bookahs can’t stop this Asuran Engi from claiming the vaults contents! =P
I bought all three recipes for the blades. However, I did it solely because I’m weird and like to collect recipes.
I’m here just to tell you that you are not alone.
Is there a snowball’s chance in the Ring of Fire that we could get the piano sheet music for this version of Fear Not This Night?
Signed. Stamped.
I’d say if you could add a search bar for those of us whose closets get big, that would be handy.
Nicely done.
Aside from the apparent Inquest Tyrian Cloning Program being in full swing on the airship, I just noticed that the Bank NPC says the following:
“You need it. I have it.”
“Looking to spend some coin?”
“Always happy to see customers!”
and most alarmingly:
“I’ve got deals you won’t believe!”
This cannot stand. I refuse to trust my belongings to this… this… charlatan! For all I know he has offloaded dozens of my stacks of bloodstone dust without my knowledge! I demand he be relocated to a different duty aboard the vessel and a more trustworthy NPC be put in his stead.

I think there’s a glitch in your code. We can do a successful failure.
I was there. It was amazing. XD
I like the OPs idea mostly cause the ideal of leveraging Fractals for this sort of thing felt weird. Fractals felt more historic and less contemporary, so adding in Molten and Aether felt clunky. I’d even take it a step further to let you replay PS instances as well (similar to how you could in GW1).
The holodeck idea allows both to live separately (and even have separate rewards like a daily chest that has a small chance to drop LS items/content.)
The more I think about it, the more potential this has. Excellent suggestion, OP.
Grenades, even if you are not spec’ed for them, are amazing underwater. Take them and don’t look back.

it’s enough to check for servers without LA overflows
How do you do that without spending your guest options?
Having lot of friends help.
Also… “Reduced the health of each Assault Knight by 25%.”. So again, faced with a problem (in this case – bad scaling and accidentally raised toughness), Anet, instead of fixing it, makes a cheap workaround that doesn’t address the real issue.
I won’t defend their actions, but if the choices are:
1.) Get the scaling formula/mechanic correct in a month’s time — well after the conclusion of the event.
2.) Put something in place so the event is still challenging, but with a higher success rate.
I think most people would go for option 2. Now, this goes without even mentioning the corner they painted themselves into to be in this position in the first place, but I’ll take a little pragmatism at this stage.
Long term, scaling absolutely needs a look and I am optimistic that the dev team has learned a lot from Season 1 of the LS. I, personally, look forward to the feature and balance patch and season two.

All attempts post patch have been successful so far when it comes to killing knights.
Holo is about 66% success. Just got a bad platform.
One small note: Scarlet’s Anti-AFK lasers still fire after the holo is dead. Makes getting into the instance a bit dicey.

Menders heal a percentage of max HP over time, it would seem. Given the amount of HP the knights have, that adds up really quick.
I got blade shards in Fractals O_O.
They drop from all Aetherblades now.
Additionally, hold on to your blade shards. A red just said they will be used for something “valuable” in the near future.
