during DST the UK is on BST not GMT.

i would be interested to find out how wvw reset time/dailies reset time is affected by the DST change over this weekend though.

my guild never had an issue fighting and winning battles out manned against servers with more orbs than us or all 3 orbs.

it’s sad a layer of strategy has been removed, as has an added degree of glory when defeating orb buffed opponents.

hopefully they find a way to re add the layer of strategy in a meaningful way soon. and don’t continue to remove things.

actually we had more numbers last night than last reset with short queues on all maps last night afaik. last week we had overflows in LA every night during the event, which is the first time i’ve seen an overflow on borlis pass in over a month outside of sudden wvw reset/booting everyone out/just before a match reset.

from what i understand who ever was in EBG was just arguing amongst each other or something. idk what guilds or commanders were involved.

RED map was a much happier place though, and we were kicking some serious kitten

GoM was in 3rd when i went to bed at like 1am… lulz we were wondering where they were at reset- i guess they were biding their time waiting for us to go to bed

and yeah it is weird being blue. last week was great. tonight was a great start to the match.

at one point a smaller sized gom kinda sorta ran into us after holding off a sec, what we didn’t realize was a big AR zerg was right behind them lol. the GoM guys fought tooth and nail though, and no wonder, they were between a rock and a hard place think i got that in the video.

oh and the map was split evenly slightly in favour for Borlis Pass at that time too.

pretty good action tonight on AR map tonight.

btw how did BP end up blue? i looked at score board less than 2 hours before the reset and we were up 8k on GoM with a 3 way split for objectives.

anyways, i’ll up the video in the morning. got a couple epic battles on fraps tonight. not usre what server it was we fought, too buzzed :P

It has been one heck of a week, and despite the usual banter, I have had such a blast all around, we have one of the closest match ups in NA, hoping we see more of the same next week. So much back and forth, I don’t think AR or BP has gotten a match-up like this since day one, and I think we all deserve it. Great job from all sides, and welcome to the bottom tiers GoM, you guys are a worthy opponent, nice having you aboard.

yeah been a pretty solid week. my guys are super psyched.

we actualyl scheduled a dungeon run last night, but when the guy who asked for it came on and joined us in wvw it was pretty much a moot point.

oops didn’t realize the video was so close to finishing the upload.

basically we got some beers and tequila and most of us jumped on alts or were trying experimental specs or w/e lulzy stuff.

most of the night we farmed camps in GoM, tryingto stay one step ahead of GoM’s zerg, but a few times they caught us by surprise. we also ninja capped one tower then tried ot ninja cap another but the zerg showed up too soon.

anyways there’s at least one fight in the video i think we could’ve won (maybe eh…) if the zerg had rendered fully. i think like half the fight it looked like it was even then suddenly i’m in he middle of a bunch of GoM players.

anyways gf and gg to the guys we fought last night.

i always like to see more grass roots video makers getting involved.

however your video is hard to watch for a few reasons:

i can’t understand the chatter at the beggining well due to being sped up
at that part i tend look at the length of the video and i get tempted to just close the tab.
it’s super sped up that it makes it dificult to follow the action.
you left voice chatter in the super sped up parts that just sounds like mice chattering.

suggestion: instead of speeding up a video to fit 40 minutes of footage into a 20 minute upload, consider splitting the video up into parts, that are more easily digested.

in any case, keep making videos and posting them! not that i’m the best video maker myself mind you.

i’m uploading a video of me and some of my guys derpin around farming camps for exp and gold and karma last night. it kidna confused me why we wouldn’t have outmanned on those couple of maps because there was like literally no other BP players around it seemed.

anyways i’ll write a bit of a synopsis about the video when it’s up and i post it here.

we might not be outnumbered on the map. it doesn’t mean some of our elements don’t fight outnumbered.

i like taking a beating from 2 sides with each force individually outnumbering mine.

that’s not for everyone though.

it doesn’t mean my guys don’t run with the zerg when it makes sense to do so. there are preferences then there is practicality afterall.

though what makes sense to us, may not make much sense to others.

Yesterday, during primetime, the numbers looked really even between our 3 server. Well at least in EB. We had outmanned buff for a bit, then BP got it for like 5-10 min too, so it was all fair.

And don’t worry, I won’t judge BP over Dirtyklingon, Plok or Hakato. They have been posting thing like that since launch, in every match up. I know the rest of PB is really great, and have really good player.

i said “my guild”, engagements my guild that i’ve been a part of personally we’ve largely been at least slightly outnumbered this match, i know my guys were running with the BPA zerg in EBG last night though, so idd that numbers were fairly even. though if AR suddenly has less of a night population than previous matches, then that’s a new thing.

anyways, this match has been good so far. no need to get high and mighty about acting the sportsman. this is not our first rodeo together. there’s nothing wrong with boasting- boasting and sabre rattling is an important part of this kind of pvp.

i am debating between wvw and buying win 8 tonight. but i am psyched to get my mes to 80 and unleash the full effectiveness of this full operational battlestation!

I played on GoM since launch. I was having a good conversation with GoM players until one of your BP players decided to pop off at the mouth instead of focusing on not losing to GoM. But by all means, keep talking here so you aren’t focused on the match, bro.

here’s some videos last night. we’re the same guys that was fighting GoM at center island in the south of blue map friday night. we were all drunk that night, this night some of us were drunk, others were hungover, or in spraggs’ case, doubled over from putting his back out in vball.

this is pergonia’s video. it’s more focused on fights we won, most of which outnumbered.

my video shows some of the silly/dumb stuff we did, and also me dying early in one or two of the fights we won that pergonia’s shows.

this suggesion will not make you do better. if you think your failings are due to orbs then you deserve to lose battles.

support specs are very strong and very effective in gw2.

you just need to be creative and willing to take risks with them.

i think it’s from being reported for spamming.

the problem with gw2 isn’t the game itself so much, aside from maybe the bugs like broken events and poor content to level flow tuning, or too great a focus on platforming…

the problem is that the game was heavily oversold by devs, then fans. and on many points that the game was sold on, the reality is a polar opposite of what was advertised- just google “arenanet blog golden rule” or “guild wars 2 manfiesto” for an obvious blog and video example.

anotehr joke we have is when doing the story quests with trahearne, is to talk about how anet was all like “we don’t think it’s right that you aren’t enough of the hero in other games” >mfw the player ISN"T the main character/hero in the “personal” story.

i should know better after aion, but a small part of me wanted to believe anet wasn’t typical ncsoft, even though i knew that anet founders were in charge of ncwest for the whole aion thing in 2009 and 10. so i deluded myself slightly.

still having fun with what the game is, and still spending way too much money on it. but part of me wants the game that was advertised over and over and over and over again for years on end.

my social casual pvx guild doesn’t have any issues fighting opponents who outnumber us with all 3 orbs when we have outmanned buff.

group skills and tactics >>>>>>>> orbs by far.

most of the BP posters in this thread are BPA member guild members, afaik- and a big part of why HoM is a part of BPA, is that overall we share a common primary goal – to have fun and win epic battles.

and for my own part, i speak only for myself and my own opinions, except when explicitly noted.

to clarify my earlier comments from last night, as leader of HoM i don’t condone spawn camping and generally lead my guild’s groups away from it when i am in session.

not for any pretentious moral or e honour reason though, because frankly i think w/e is within the rules of the game is fair play.

but because it’s boring. straight up. i don’t enjoy spawn camping people, and it’s within my perview as co leader that when i’m overseeing a session, HoM will not do it because HoM plays for fun and epic battles, and there is little that’s epic about sitting on someone’s doorstep slaughtering them.

previously when an opponent has chosen to suicide zerg from spawn and we are pushing them back into their base, we simply tactically retreat(often in style) and let them have w/e objective it is they want so badly as to spend their repair bills on our meatgrinder.

HoM plays for fun. as co leader and wvw director, our " pvp honour code" is based on a mix of kill bill and klingon inspired ideology. but our goals are epic battles and having fun with friends and friends of friends. we simply have no interest in boring crap like spawn camping.

that being said, there is an old klingon proverb: revenge is a dish best served cold.

BPA was on blue map last night and we used a similar strat to what we’ve used in the past. no new guilds there either. obv we executed our strat and tactics better, but aside from GoM holding us back from their spawn tower i felt like we faced less resistance last night than previous resets.

idk about other maps. the only new guilds i ever see on BP are random zerg guilds aggressively recruiting then moving to new servers for new members and not really taking part in the war effort.

we did have short queues on blue last night, and for a change the actual numbers of players running around fighting reflected that. in the past from time to time w/e map i’ve been on for resets where we would have a queue but the visible force we were fielding was nearly small enough to warrant outmanned.

here’s my video from last night. opens with the first decent battle of the night that was interupted by the patch after reset. i didn’t show much of the back and forth between us and GoM in center island, but it was a pretty good fight there. we cost them alot of gold since they really wanted to have siege on the island.

pergona’s upload looks like it had issues, so i’ll wait for him to reup before i link it.

giving up in under 24 hours after a reset is a sure way to turn your server around!

i should post some video of AR trying to double team us into our spawn with NSP way back in 24 hour matches. XD karma amirite? pretty sure AR has tried to spawn camp us even more recently as well.

LA in BP has had overflow most of this week thanks to halloween event. i think that’s where alot of us are, and not any other reasons (this match).

myself personally i wvwed every other day or more for nearly 2 months. when pvp become routine it becomes stale for me. so taking a breather. my guild still has guys in there every night though. i’ll be back with our(HoM) more casual wvwers tomorrow night.

from the sounds of things in mumble, my guys have been having a good time this week as always. so gg from us to our opponents.

only a game which advertised it self as being next gen because one need not grind to be viable, would one have to grind to have less than basic standard organizational functionality of raid groups.

only in a game that promotes itself through the line" play the game not the ui" would guild wvw leaders spend so much time puzzling out where their guildies are and spend so much effort juggling groups and coordinating members to stick together because the UI is intentionally kittened.

only in a game where you buy gold with irl cash would you have to spend $100 or spend hundreds of hours farming and saving gold to buy basic mmo ui functionality that is subpar on a single character.

only in an ncsoft game would players have to beg for something like this.

well 15% sales tax on 5.30 equals .795 so getting 4.50 back from a 5.30 sale makes sense.

the problem is with the projected profit being misleading and deceitful.

says 5g30s in the items i’ve sold transaction list.

i actually didn’t have the 5% listing fee on that toon at first and it wouldn’t let me list the item until i had that amount on that toon.

like i said, when i hit sell the projected profit changed itself to the ~4g50s that was in pick up.

i should have noted if the listing fee was also subtracted.

i had refreshed the sell window moments before pressing sell and there were multiple orders for the mystic claymore at this price.

what is the purpose of the projected profit indicator when selling items on teh TP?

last night i crafted a mystic claymore, and then sold it to a buy order.

the projected profit was stated as 4g77s for a listing of 5g30s

when i hit the sell button, the projected profit number suddenly changed to ~4g50s, which is what i recived in my pick up tab.

is this intended? what is the purpose of this? is it intentional to be so deceptive? or only buggy?

it’s quite good how long a little heal or tough goes. neither needs buffs or nerfs. they are quite a viable alternative to obvious stat stack strats.

there’s a certain zerg guild in borlis pass that likes to spam emotes near the portals near reset.

although it helps i guess that they seem to be bleeding active members extremely quickly and so the emotes spam isn’t so intense as it once was.

and i mean like 50 people spamming the same dance or sit or kneel emote over and over again over the span of an hour leading up to resets.

it’s an ncsoft game. there are always these really really weird words in their filters.

aion was full of them.

l2 went as far as to filter the word “nickelback” though let’s be real here, that one was justified though hilarious.

it goes alot farther than just wvw.

server communities in general and as a whole are a mess right now.

which is totally expected with nearly unmitigated free transfers. same thing happened in rift. similar thing happened in aion.

first sign was tuning some money sinks and catering to zerg guild demands.
2nd sign was not having guesting in during beta/by launch
3rd sign- no server forums.
4th sign- scaling back of informative useful posts on twitter and facebook in favour of advertising cash grabs like the awful steelseries gw2 branded items. and after months of getting us to use those social media platforms as a place for informative posts.
