Full rabid necromancer.
Deadeye Dunwell.
DS3, Staf_f5 (seriously? the censorship needs some better engine), Wh4, Flesh Golem’s charge to control Deadeye’s killshot.
Basically scepter spam + Signet of Spite + Blood is Power.
Pretty much the same as i got the Subject 7 achievement, although usually my necromancer is just collecting dust.
Also done Deadeye on a reflect mesmer, but i guess you guys know that option already…
All gambits except for Crowd Fav.

You’re sounding as if GH was a WvW-only server. The PvE patch content ‘affects’ us all.
/wave to that Charr elementalist from GuM yesterday, we both saw that our 1v1 wouldn’t end anytime soon
Nice while fight it lasted tho
Same story here, same Charr ele – although we did meet later on a few times
During the fight with tornados, just be extra careful about their pathings and dodge through them (not away, just through).
Another bug is that other mechanics of previous fights also sometimes stay – i had two power orbs remain from another player’s fight with the mongrel when i attempted the ooze, etc. They were fully working.
If you are experiencing a nigh-permament knocklock in the Gauntlet fights, and you do not see any tornados around you, it means you’re in a bugged cage. Just pick another one and enjoy your fight.
Tried it, the oozes just keep blobbing on the boss, sooner or later, getting in the way. And scepter 1 is just not enough to damage him down with all the small oozes spitting at you.
I swapped to necro for this fight and just bled him, but i do not see how to do this on a guardian.
Tried the aforementioned combo, to no avail. Just… too much AoE.
Any ideas, anyone?
My problems:
- pretty much all guardian attacks are aoe-ish – even spamming 1 on hammer hits three targets;
- the oozes just keep on balling up, even if i manage to get Subject 7 into a spot with no small ones with hammer 4;
- retaliation kills the small oozes;
- the only purely one-target skill for some dps is scepter 1, but it’s not enough.
Stuff i’ve tried:
- knocking everything back with shield 5;
- hammer 4 on the big one, then dps with hammer and gs;
- gs 5 on the small ones, drag them away.
Stuff i haven’t tried yet ankitten ot sure if they’re viable (feedback!):
- sword/shield + hammer combo, for two knockback skills, microing sword 1 not to proc the third chain skill;
- spirit weapons;
- norn elite forms.
Right – we also have, and will keep, a mesmer at the puzzle’s chest =)
As per MM forums:
So the thing is that these goggles are a pain…the whole puzzle is very unforgiving, but the last bits are even more. So if you tried it and failed it, or have not even tried yet but curious, or did it but want to help others come around Wednesday at 8PM CEST (Amsterdam, Rome, Berlin)/ 7PM BST (London).
Where is it?
Not So Secret is a jumping puzzle in Gendarran Fields with two routes. The first leads to the Not So Secret achievement and the other to a pair of Diving Goggles.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Not_So_Secret
What is planned?
There are two achievements here, the jumping puzzle (get the shiny chest) and the diving goggles (hit the water). We plan to get a mesmer at the chest (fairly fast and easy, one portal is enough) and a portal chain up to the goggles (bit more painful) so people only need to get into the retreat where the ship is (it isn’t trivial but shouldn’t be too bad) and from there just portal them up.
Now the tricky bit is that the dive itself isn’t simple as you would think. There are several pipes on the way and while falling you need to avoid them, so people tend to die before they get the achievement. Hopefully with the portals you can try to hit that patch of a water as many times as you have patience for.
What do we need?
We need mesmers (Low levels are fine as long as they have portal as Gendarran is a 25-35 zone. Also better trait the jump damage/portal recharge time reduction for this event.), at least 4 to be comfortable (one for the chest, 3 for the jp though the latter could use one more too. I got my own mesmer circa halfway up the jp, can portal others up there earlier if anyone wants to leave their alt ready there before the event). We need volunteers scattered around at different levels to res the dead people.
If you volunteer as a mesmer/resurrection specialist please whisper Eili. Would be nice to have a surplus of mesmers so the ones, who are porting people originally can also get the achievement.
We already have quite a number of mesmers available =)
I have 12 right now – do not ask why as i am not entirely sure myself.
Anyway, i went for extra mesmers – if you do not want a duplicate to play with, make a mesmer, get portal for him and park him somewhere useful, like jumping puzzles.
Add an option to send a mail to the whole rank, and let only the founder do so.
Once per a few days, even once per week, so that we can send an in-game mail guild activity update or something, being sure everyone reads it and stuff.
Beaten him first try, no food. Perhaps i was just lucky, or perhaps all those hours of polymock in GW1 paid off.
We cannot make anyone play the way we do but that doesnt mean we cant beg, plead, and persuade you to come over to the greener side of things where the action is more intense the challenge is greater and the fun is….
Being pretty frank and honest, after your – and others’ – posts in these forums and your general attitude, i’d personally have most fun by rallying any interested GHian together and just blob-rolling you into oblivion over and over. Same with most other ‘pr0 l33t ph34r’ teams out there, as only a handful hold class along with their skill.
Get down from your imaginary throne of roaming, all-powerful guilds which have found out the fountain of youth for WvW’s fun and the only true way to play the format. That’s the first step to redeem yourselves, before you guys get burned out. The brightest stars go out in the biggest booms – but the emptiest cans rattle the most.

GH barges in brair gates and goes strait to the lord, DZG rush in behind for the steal, and little me collecting the loot bags.
tyvm
Ask about what happened at Dz Hills earlier tonight
There is nothing wrong with ‘blobbing’.
As there is nothing wrong with ‘turtling’, as much as people used to flame it, and there’s nothing wrong with setting up six ACs in Hills to murder everyone foolish enough to come close, as people used to whine about it.
I am wondering what the next Complaint of the Month will be.
‘They are only stacking and turtling, that’s ridiculous.’ ‘Arrow carts, arrow carts everywhere.’ ‘Blobs upon blobs!’
Outrageous!
That’s not the case of stacking 2-3 guilds into a zerg – it’s all about getting better commander coverage, especially on EB, and more people generally following commanders. Not organised guild groups, even if you do see a number of people with one tag, but on EB it’s usually the map/pug commanders doing the job. FURY, SOE, PRXM, CHvc, sometimes MM and a couple of others do roam and raid on their own – it’s the map commander & pug coverage that has increased on GH, especially so on EB.

I am logged in.
Sorting out by database works.
Sorting out by server works.
Sorting out by friends works.
Sorting out by four of the guilds i am in works fine.
Sorting out by one of the guilds does not work.

When i try to filter by it, the list ‘greys out’ a bit, as if it was refreshing and updating, but then all i’m getting is the same list as before, aka not filtered by MM.
I can filter by MM in North America database, but we’re an European guild – and this is where it does not work.
It is a pretty important thing, as it’s the only way to tell members’ activity at the moment, judging by the last time they had obtained an achievement point – and it’s nigh impossible not to get one daily done even in 10 minutes, so it’s a pretty decent way of finding who’s completely inactive.
To be honest, BT still have a chance at the 2nd spot, so it’s only normal that they should focus on everything that’s green; and vice versa – WSR, securing 2nd spot, should keep constant pressure on BT borderlands.
It’s far from fair, but it’s the format’s design, not the matchup’s issue.
Thats cute Grevender as GH is dropping ACs left, right and middle <3
We’ve only learned it 2-3 weeks ago from MS – 2-3 acs everywhere make your life easier for a long time if you’re reactive enough.
WSR <3
Won’t see much of you unless you meddle with our plans on BT bl, but still <3
Stargate.

If you are on GH, you surely know us by now, from both PvE and WvW. If you’re not from GH and would like to know more, just whisper me in-game
For the moment, we have two Americans and two Aussies in the guild; on top of that, we’re the guild that never sleeps, and sun is always shining over some MM members. We’d love to expand on that part of our coverage, so if you are from outside of European timezones and yet playing on Gunnar’s, don’t fret – we might just be the place for you =)
Dz [Hot] norn female thief, Mage – hats off o/
Personally I think the arrow of causation points the other way: when we get a lot of people in WvW we start winning!
It’s all about momentum.
When the going is good our fair weathers come out of their PvE holes.
As the leader of a PvX ‘zerg guild’, which used to be widely perceived as a ‘PvE guild’ despite having visible presence in WvW since December, i do not agree with that. There’s a wider trend going on, not as much about a relatively easier matchup than the previous one making people ‘come out of their PvE holes’, but a generally high surge of interest in WvW format.
Reforging PvE players into PvX ones, and making PvX ones focus on WvW a bit more, has always been my goal as a guild leader, partially standing behind my philosophy on numbers, recruitation, organisation and promotion. As Jonni, can’t speak for other teams, but it’s not just fair-weather players ‘out of their holes’, it’s a quite bigger thing – although more people joining karma trains serve as a part of it, too, yet just a figment in comparison to the real deal.
Crazy numbers from AS this morning, crazy. Hard pushing for 2nd spot.
The main downside of facing an FR and a DE server in one matchup is this matchup thread being so, so silent. ANet should remove matchup threads from non-English forum versions :p
Nah, that was phase 3, after we got pushed out two times already, maybe Eras has more screens :p
GH have specifically targeted RoS since the reset.
I can’t speak for other guilds and commanders, but i specifically had my commanders (aka most ‘pug commanders’ of GH i guess) focus on RoS simply because i wanted to end up second. RoS is the smaller and weaker of our two opponents this matchup, and since day one i was aware we wouldn’t be able to overcome MS, making it a focused fight for the second spot.
I am way past the whole ‘oh it’s RoS, we must murder RoS’ kind of rivalry, as it’s petty and low.
MS attacked GH bl last night after we had turned it all blue because everything had paper doors.
They ignored paper RoS EB corner and went for t3, sieged up and manned towers in GH EB corner. They ignored paper RoS BL long enough and kept bashing on our BL. At ~4am, once Stikko had taken our EB keep and PvD’d his way through the GH BL keeps, MS capped the whole GH EB corner but touched nothing in RoS corner, having moved onto GH BL instead, despite your corner still being paper.
As i said earlier, i am not whining – i fully embrace all facets of WvW, including focusing the chosen opponent for whatever reason. I am not even evaluating or judging anyone or their behaviour, i just want to have the facts straight.
I still do not quite understand what an MS golem was doing among RoS group in our garrison, in the provided screenshot, having entered the lord’s room with them. I would guess that normally RoS would kill MS pounding inner garrison, and then open it themselves with the golems they had brought themselves, but no – there weren’t many MS either (3? including the golem) and they all went inside lord’s.
That’s one, and actually makes a bit of sense. The other thing is that they’re the more populated server and they’ve been quite carefully picking their targets to lose the least server ranking points – what a kind MS commander happened to tell me. While there’s no alliance going on between anyone, we are not paranoid about being focused – simply because of how the rankings work, MS does not want GH to come second, and it’s reflected in this night’s map share, or MS banging their heads against t3 and defended Veloka rather than going for wooden RoS EB corner.
I am not saying this with any kind of bitterness or whining, don’t get me wrong, but it does put the whole matchup into a different context, and operating from that perspective we might have made different decisions on the way. In a nutshell:
Nah – that’s 3h after the peak of the event. I mean, even you can’t ignore the timestamp in your own screenshot.
This is the result of our event, for those who missed it, down below.
Cheers from the cross-map commander and omega forger
@Noss:
Of course i’d rather give my stuff to MS. And take yours myself :>
It was the gambit i tried to play in EB earlier, but MS preferred to siege Veloka – a t3, sieged up and defended tower, rather than any of the RoS towers, while all were paper. Dracarti from MS was actually quite descriptive why
Anyway, i wouldn’t compare an organised all-server event with omega golems and stuff, taking place between 10pm and perhaps 1am, to what Stikko has been doing now with all those golems, at 4am
@yroeht:
Actually both MS and RoS golems – there was one MS and two+ RoS. Ask Stikko :p
But there’s actually something else, much more interesting, that puts the whole matchup into another context – nightcapping ain’t relevant anymore
(edited by drkn.3429)
Enjoy your night capping, Get those doors!
Oh boy. You really know nothing
I was veeery reluctant to give into the myth of ‘RoS nightcapping’… until i saw it with my own eyes just now. Notice the timestamp on the map, our outmanned icon on our own map, and your numbers:
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/9993/v7ur.jpg
RoS nightcapping is not a myth!
e: my bad, the icon just gone off before me taking this screen, but it was there, it really was! :p

You know nothing, Jon Snow.
Nice try gunnars nice try :P how many omegas do you have?
Enough to have taken your whole map but the garrison which is still being trebbed at the moment.
And even more omegas in my pocket, not to mention extra alphas.
Decided to show GH we can stop whining and man up in a coordinated server-wide event with MM golems and commanders. Great fun has been had, lootbags have been farmed and points have been taken. 4,5k to go
I’m a GH guild leader and i do not endorse the attitude my comrades have been presenting in this particular thread. We were really fine in previous matchups, but something seems to have snapped this week.
Time to man up rather than whine.
While Steelo did go a bit overboard on wording, everyone but Zorainda missed the point – it’s not about any kind of GH vs RoS feud, not all of RoS, so don’t try to mix yourselves into it.
We have an Aussie?! Awesome!
I have two in MM, both active :p
We enjoy downgrading SM down to wood while being outmanned.
Cunning Gunnar’s strikes again.
Cheers for the commander, don’t forget about the wall next time tho :P

The new build is on our side, saved Piken Bay from being lost to Piken in no time :p
Noss. It’s the [RiOT] people who started whining about ‘blobbing’, teaming up with other guilds from the same server, and other silly things. Remarks about you doing so were merely counterattacks by using your own arguments against you.
I appreciate that you’ve finally noticed it’s not the most evil thing out there.
Have fun in the new week guys o/
You know the ones (MMers) that love to keep hills.
Due to our solid influence income, we’re one of the main keep claimers and buffers around, so you surely know our purple-white triskele emblem, too :p
(edited by drkn.3429)
Harassing SM let us take WC and Klovan, though
Tier 1 much?
Server event or not, we are not gonna partake in it.
If this is how you want to win, by all means. PRXM, Cry Havoc, FURY, MARA, NOX, very dissapointed that serious guilds intentionally reduces the game to this.
Stop being delusional about the game you’re playing and learn the guilds’ tags if you’re going to mention them publicly.
