The black dye doesn’t look “pure black” to me on either of my characters. (one uses Heavy, the other uses Medium armor).
Might be what OP is referencing.
Awesome, thanks Evixy. I’ll start redoing my traits and see how this works out at least in leveling
I really don’t mind paying each trait respec, but would be nice having an option to switch effortlessly without always relocating points(while paying, 3s isn’t a lot to begin with so I see no reason to remove it).
Will help between my Dungeon support build and my “Must Smash Faces” Solo build.
So I decided to roll a thief at my alt, and so far am loving the class and the abilities. They are a lot of fun compared to my guardian.
Anyways, from my topic title, is that even possible? I am not overly concerned with being top super burst awesome damage, but something that gets by fairly well while being a little more sturdy. (I am noticing even at my low levels that hits from pretty much even a passing gust of wind can take off half my health if I miss a dodge).
Anybody here have experience with that?
Solo wise, it’s actually pretty decent. I ran a condition build/gear set for testing. (You also make use of Virtue of Justice pretty heavily rather than the passive for higher damage, but hey, it resets on death so it’s worth it.)
Group wise it’s terrible. Since burning doesn’t “stack” it gets overwritten by other guardians, engineers, all the time.
Yeah. It is a bit frustrating you can never really feel “Powerful” on your character no matter how many top end items you have.
Unless you are running Arah or Cursed Shore in genreal, down scaling can be rather annoying at times.
I’d be happy if they redid how Burning works. Since it’s not a stackable buff it is constantly overwritten by other guardians creating a dps loss. While our conditions don’t typically last long to begin with, it’d be nice of making a Burning build wasn’t a gimmick build but instead a viable alternative to damage.
Explorer Mode Dungeons will net about 40s a run (COF is super quick to do).
Kaz, is your main source of precision your traits? (TBH I haven’t touched to much WvW so most of my gearing is PvE based, power/prec/magic find, but I can see why having low Vitality would be a death sentence in a lot of WvW Battles)

Is what I run when I’m out solo in the world grinding or doing events. It’s what works best for me. One of the great things about this game is there are so many combinations for a weapon you can do which is nice.
Yeah I noticed that too when I unlocked it. When things are hitting you for 1k+ a pop, that 25 HP isn’t going to do much at all to keep you alive. Even if it was something like 25% of + Healing or something not overpowered, it’d be more useful.
I think this entire argument is flawed.
People buy gems with real money.
People do not buy gold with real money.
There is zero reason that the free commodity is greater than the purchased commodity.
Trying to garner some insight here in what people use. Personally for me, for runs I do with my Guild I respec in to a more support/heals/boon type build. Even then though I need to pay pretty good attention or I could take a bad hit and get stomped. (This is with Toughness / Healing stacking gear also).
I guess I would love to get in to a more DPS Orientated role at times, but I can’t see that working out in the various EXP modes that well. Seems to squishy with our naturally low HP. (Which, if people do have experience running full DPS i’d love to maybe try your build /slot skills to see how it works out)
Our range is pretty pathetic, when compared to every other class. Scepter has a lot of potential but overall it feels wasted, would be nice if they added something to the autoattack.
Staff I don’t mind it’s “range” being semi bad damage, it provides more than enough support abilities to make up for it in that weapon.
Server: Sorrow’s Furnace
Waypoint: Ogduk – Stays Contested, can not make available for port
Waypoint: Rankor Ruins – Event gets stuck at “Wave 2”. Stays Contested as a Result
Location: Kyesjard – No waves of Skritt come, stuck at 0/8
Skill Challenge and POI behind the Inquest Door in Guilty Tears. Was told this opens due to an escort event, however, that event bugs out at times. I can only assume it’s the one to “Escort the Order Of Whispers Team to Grawl Camp”. Says to Revive them but they are alive standing still. This door will not open any other way and preventing zone completion.
Not sure if this requires a server reset or not for any of these, but it is pretty frustrating not being able to complete the zone due to these.
