Please delete this…originally this thread was for a SFR directory, but we’ve decided to expand the service to include guilds on all EU English Language Focused Servers. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor/EU-Guild-Directory-New-Guild-Finder-Service/first#post4773795

Thank you for your reply ClaraFee!

We’ve set up a directory that is intended to include all EU English language focused guilds. The ‘Looking For…’ forum is chaotic making it difficult for players to find quickly and easily guilds that suit their prefences. For guilds, it is difficult to get the message out there for more than just a handful of hours because posts are buried so quickly.

Apologies to all for the lack of originality regarding the name…[EU] GW2 English Server Guild Directory. The link is http://euguilds.com/ – we are using ProBoards. To any EU guild leaders based on English language focused servers, please take a few minutes to post your guild info. If you have a ProBoards account, you won’t need to make another.

There are two sections for guild listings: general and server specific. If for example, your guild is hardcore PvP, you can post in both the General PvP board and on your home server board.

There is also a category for the EU English Language focused server General, PvE/RP, PvP and WvW community website links. So if you are a community manager, do post up a link and blurb. If you are hosting a community event, post those up in this section too.

If you are a community manager of any other community not already covered and you’d like to see categories for your game mode, please let me know and I’ll set it up. If you’d like to see a general guild board for a game mode that isn’t covered, let me know that too!

Thanks!!

Howdy Mard!

Great post btw, and welcome back to GW2!

I am one of the founders of Reapers of Corvus (RoC), a small guild on Seafarer’s Rest looking to expand, but only just so we have enough to do Guild Missions and not have to pug fractals and dungeons.

Get too big and people start to feel lost, ourselves included! Our minimum requirements: 21 years old +, good sense of humour and not afraid to fail with style – in other words, we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We are all pretty busy in real life so when we do log in, we want to have fun while gettin’ stuff done!

We don’t require 100% rep – GW2 was built for rep’ing multiple guilds so it seems unfair to demand members only rep us. We ask that if you are doing PvE stuff to rep us when possible to help us keep guild perks up.

If this sounds in any way remotely appealing (which given what you posted about your requirements, it might), then have a look at our forums (reapersofcorvus.co.uk) and if you like what you see, get in touch for a chat.

Howdy Komle…

“Friendly and a bit laid back”…we got that.
“EU Server” – we got that too!

“Daily activity on TS”…we are working on that one…
“Guild Activities”….we are working on that one too…and you two could help us out on those!

We have a pretty good mix of players, those that like the speed clear and run optimal builds, and those like me who need a little bit of shall we say ‘guidance’. Though in my defense, I’m very good at listening and taking direction. Our other founder, Jknrich, is our guild guru so to speak. ;D

Since you are on Deso, you’ll not be able to WvW with us when we do that sort of thing. But for most other things, your home server shouldn’t be an issue. We ask that if you are doing PvE stuff to rep us when possible to help us keep guild perks up.

Don’t mind the question at all. It really depends on the evening – I personally wasn’t on last night, but looking at the roster, there were 12 logged in over the past 24 hours.

We are actively recruiting as we know we need more active players on our roster. A few of us are married, with children or outside interests but when we do have time to play, we’d like for us as well as our members, to be able to bring a group together from within the guild.

We’d also like to be able to get everyone together at least once a week for Guild Missions. In fact we are hoping to run our first mission on Sunday 15 Feb.

The rest of the time, just go with the flow…map completions, WvW, fractals, dungeons, achievement hunting or some other random activity…

We don’t require our members to log in daily – at least once a month at a minimum.

:D

Get too big and people start to feel lost, ourselves included! As we are in the process of expanding, it is going to be a little quiet at the start. In my World vs World tab it says that the WvW Spring Tournament 2014 Reward Chest (unlocked).

I completed the Meta, our server placed 1st.

I never received a chest to unlock. Will I still receive a chest at some point even though my client says I already unlocked it (lies!!!)? Or has one of Scarlet’s minions magicked it away to a place, far, far away never ever to be seen? Please, please…please say it ain’t so! My first tourney…and a gold loot box to boot…

Howdy! I filed a ticket for support on 10 May 2014 – ticket no 604393. I sent some updated information on the day and also on 15th, and chased on 16 May. As it was unusual to not have a response from y’all within a week, I thought perhaps one of the dragons ate it. I filed another ticket – no 627118 on 20 May referencing the original ticket number. We’ve had things on hold in Guild since the 10th – we’d quite like to get things moving so if at all possible, please can you take a look and get back to me? Many thanks!!

fizzypetal.7936

Howdy! Love this thread so thank you OPer for putting it up!! My first experience with MMOs was World of Warcraft (when it was ‘vanilla’) at the age of 40. I played it with my husband for about 5 years then moved on to Aion, Rift, World of Warcraft Cataclysm (favourite bit was the underwater map, the rest, meh) and SWTOR. 9 years and 2 kids later, I’m currently in my 2nd year of Guild Wars 2 which I’ve played since the beta.

I know what people mean about those flippin jumping puzzles and eye, hand, mouse co-ordination. My fingers regularly have a mind of their own with the over tapping of my thumb on the space bar or the taking an extra step forward when I totally didn’t mean to. I’m seriously considering getting my 6 year old on to do them for me. I watched him do some jumping puzzles in Mine Craft…he makes it look easy. Just have to get him used to the 16-button gamer mouse my hubby thought I should have and bought me for Mothering Sunday in March. I had a 3-button mouse originally. Who said old dogs couldn’t learn new tricks?

There is quite a lot I enjoy about GW2 – as one poster pointed out – that we don’t have to compete for loot, nodes, trees or plants is one fantastic aspect. I remember well my days of circling maps in WoW trying to get to metal nodes before some other farmer did. The hours I wasted…never want to back to that again.

Mob thievery isn’t such a problem in this game either so even in real busy areas, so long as that one hit just before a mob died did enough damage, you’d also get the credit and maybe even a drop. Not needing the ‘Holy Trinity’ is another big bonus.

Another huge plus for me is that it is a great game to dip in and out of without punishment. Meaning, that you don’t fall behind gear wise so if you get busy and can’t make it on regularly or you go on a couple of weeks holiday, you can pick right up where you left off without penalty. Your guildmates won’t have sprinted ahead gear wise so you’re never left behind.

So yeah, gaming as a person rocketing towards the half century has been a fabulous experience in many, many ways. I look forward to many more years I hope, of MMO fun!
