Howdy….
Please can someone from ArenaNet answer this question…
There are 18 items that need collecting for Cin Business Achievement in The Head of the Snake living story. To me that translates to 18 precious bag/bank slots. As we collect the items and they register on the hero panel, can we get rid of them?
This is a question I find myself asking each time there is a collection achievement. Can a tool tip not be added to each item indicating if it can be rubbished or must be kept? Alternatively can it be so that we visit the NPC associated with the achievement and hand them in – so tool tip says ‘Visit X to turn in’? This is a request for going forward – not retroactively.
Howdy! My number for the raffle…47 please
My name: Fizzy Petal
I LOVE THIS! I collected all the cats today…my docile kitties are on the left side ground floor of the Nornian home instance…some at the front, a group of 4 middle back playing with a snowball. My ferocious fighting kitties along with a most unfortunate juvenile frog are on the 1st floor where the Ogre Cheiftain and his warhound Sourfang are. There should be a Crazy Cat Person title…this is just too fun!
Please remove euguilds.com. I have decided to close the site as it is underused.

Thanks a bunch for the communication MO, it is much appreciated. Regardless of how the comms are received by sections of the community, I sure hope you’ll continue to keep us in the loop. Roll on April!
Is there a technical reason why we we players are not given an option to apply dyes to our weapons? I have some neat skins that would look cool in different colours…
I’d love to be a centaur too…with the wing skins there are, we could be GW2 version of a Pegasus. Awesome!
Tons a fun tonight…much thanks to all the volunteers for making it a cracking evening!
A lovely post. I hope for you that as time goes on you have more sunny days than rain and that when it rains you can still see the rainbow and appreciate it’s beauty.
:)
For those that have a kind word or two for Colin Johanson, on today his last day with ArenaNet, this is the thread that I hope y’all will join in wishing him well.
My first hand experience of Mr Johanson: pretty darn nice guy. He took the time earlier this year to reach out to me when he’d heard about me being in cancer treatment for my 5th occurrence of cancer. He was also a great supporter of charitable events that took place in GW2 – events like Toga for MS and Pink Day in LA for cancer. I’m sure there are others he’s lent his support to as well.
It will be so nice for Mr Johanson and his family to have him working close to home. No matter how much you love your job, a long commute can take a toll. Wishing him all the best in his future endeavours…congratulations and farewell!

Howdy! I’m updating euguilds.com…came across a dead link. Gandara is no more it would seem.
Count me in.
Ok…got a little help from my guildie and now can place the obstacles. Should anyone else have trouble figuring it out, here are the instructions:
To access the Arena decorations after you’ve unlocked the ability through the proprietor, do the following:
Speak to the Obstacle Coordinator in the Arena.
He’ll give two options: ‘Place obstacles in the arena’ or ‘Nothing right now. Thanks.’
Select ‘Place obstacles in the arena.’
You’ll zone into the arena with a cog over your head. Click on the 6 skill key to select the decoration you want from those available. The shovel will appear on your 1 skill and away you go.
Howdy…
A slightly frustrated player here. Just unlocked the guild hall PvP arena Wall Obstacles feature. It seems that I cannot activate them (I’m an Admin so have access to everything). This is the process that I’m using:
Guild > Storage > Arena > hover cursor over Obstacle: Wall. Says “Activate Talk to the Obstacle Coordinator in your guild hall to spend this item.”
I speak to the Obstacle Coordinator.
He gives me two options: Place obstacles in the arena. Nothing right now. Thanks.
I click on Place obstacles in the arena.
It immediately chucks me into the arena – I have the orange cog over my head but the 1 function (place) just has an orange/grey mottled colouring in it with no shovel or obstacle. When I click on it, it says You have no more of this decoration. So I repeat the Guild > Storage > Arena > hover cursor over Obstacle: Wall. It still says “Activate Talk to the Obstacle Coordinator in your guild hall to spend this item.” I can’t click on it or do anything with it.
Is this bugged or am I missing doing something that isn’t immediately obvious?
Thanks in advance for help.
Thanks a bunch!
Could you link the post where this was confirmed? Thanks!
Howdy,
I am on the hunt for achievable (for me as my reflexes are not brilliant and I have an old PC with latency issues) Mastery Points in Old Tyria. I came across a post that mentions individual Race story arcs awarded 8 points but that it might be bugged.
I completed story chapters on my Charr (level 60 story) and on an Asura (level 20 story) this week – both of my characters are Level 80 – I hadn’t got round to the doing the stories just yet on those characters and had not completed story arcs for either race before. Disappointingly no mastery points were awarded.
Would someone from ArenaNet please confirm whether or not Mastery points were meant to be awarded and if so at the end which chapters (or whatever ArenaNet call them) for each race (e.g., chapter 20, 30, 40, etc)?
Many thanks!
I completed story arcs on my Charr and on an Asura – I had not completed story arcs for either race before as I’m a Nornian. Disappointingly no mastery points were awarded. This makes me a bit sad as I will struggle to get the last of the achievements done for the various Fractals, puzzle, story modes etc. At age 50 my reflexes are a bit lacking so I think there will remain masteries I won’t be mastering. I don’t want to spend my life grinding out for the legendary so that will likely be the mastery that remains unfinished. It would be great if ArenaNet would confirm whether or not Mastery points were meant to be awarded. I might post up a thread in bugs and see what happens.
Thanks a bunch for the tip onevstheworld.2419.
Anyone doing similar event to Soren.9316 for EU servers?
Howdy folks!
Earlier this month I received in the post a marvelous surprise…
I have had breast cancer 5 times since 2008 and am currently on chemo for my most recent occurrence diagnosed mid June 2015. I had the pleasure of working with Rhonda Head aka Malibu Barbie (Yailith.4056) as a volunteer organiser for Pink Day in LA 2015. It was via Barbie that my personal situation came to the attention of ArenaNet.
Inside the card was a beautiful hand written message from Colin Johanson and the signatures of 36 ANet folks. To quote from the card: “Keep up the good fight and know that everyone here at ArenaNet has your back and is rooting for you.”
When the card came through and I saw the name on the return address on the envelope, I was confused. The only Colin Johanson I knew worked for ArenaNet. When I opened the card, read the message and saw all the signatures, my jaw hit the floor, my eyes filled with tears and I immediately called my husband to share the news. Then told a few close friends. A couple weeks on and I’m still astonished.
The point of sharing…
That Colin Johanson and his team took time to send their best wishes to me shows what big hearts peeps in ArenaNet have. They do care about their players and the wider world we live in. ArenaNet have a history of supporting players in their charitable endeavors – take Pink Day for example – Pink Dye was introduced as a way of supporting the Pink Day initiative. ArenaNet also donated a bunch of prizes for the draws that were held on the day.
The number of super cool and awesome people I have met through GW2 far outweighs some of the negative people that have very occasionally crossed my path. GW2 is one of my main social outlets in addition to Facebook and Twitter. Sitting at home in my jimjams with a clean bathroom and plenty of loo roll is far more appealing to me nowadays than sitting in a pub barely able to hear the person in front of me because the music is so dang loud.
For me, GW2 is a game that gives me a break from real life when things start getting too heavy. I get to dress however I want, I get to have boobs again, I get to do things like fly and run for miles without getting tired. I can have awesome pets like dragons and big cats, fire a bow and arrow or be a healer.
I have been playing GW2 since Beta. When you feel like the devs don’t care, think again. They may not get it right the first time or all the time, but they sure do try and will keep trying. They engage with the community in a way I personally have not seen with any other game producer. It is this caring about the community, the beautiful game that continues to evolve and the many lovely players, some of which have become friends, that will keep me playing GW2.
When Pink Day comes around in October of this year, please do mark it on your calendars and make an effort to participate in some way. You don’t have to be a volunteer organiser to be a part of it – donating materials for prize give-aways, helping spread the word, supporting those that are running farm events in Orr, Silverwastes and other maps (obviously check the forums first to check the farms are legit) and participating in events on the day are all ways you can support the Pink Day initiative. Although Pink Day and October are associated with breast cancer, the Pink Day event is much more than just raising awareness of breast cancer but to also raise much needed funds for cancer research into all types of cancers, some of which are hugely underfunded (pediatric for example).
To listen to Malibu Barbie’s story, how she got started with Gamers Giving back, the other charities Gamers Giving Back support and ArenaNet’s part in contributing to Gamers Giving Back success, have a listen to this podcast. Barbie’s segment starts at 58.47.

Howdy all! If you’re looking for an EU guild or looking for an additional resource for advertising your EU guild’s presence, take a look at euguilds.com. You don’t need to register to view the boards or list your guild. Also on the site are links to various reference and community sites. Very easy to use and it is free.
Heya! This isn’t the correct boards for posting the above…you want to post this to the Looking For boards…https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor
In the meantime, good luck in your quest to find a new home.
We have the same bug. Working fine before the patch, now all destinations and Missions tabs are blank rendering it unusable. EU Seafarer’s Rest, Reapers of Corvus [RoC]
Found it….is in the Canopy over Noble Crash Site. Get to it from Faren’s Flyer Waypoint…gliding east. So yeah, it showed as being done, but it allowed me to commune with it which gave me the completion. Hope ANet fixes this one…I wouldn’t have ever figured this out had it not been for someone else discovering it and posting to the forums. So thank you so much Chaba!
Pact Airship Wreckage? I’m looking at the map and I can’t see that. Can you name the waypoint it is closest too? I have the same problem with the HP near to Treacherous Path Waypoint. Done it half a dozen times and still shows I haven’t earned it. It is stopping me from completing the map.
yeah, on the pattern there is a bit of a miss on the legs…row 14. Toe half…it took me a while to work it out. To get the required number you need to add this to the text: after the 1sc – 2 in 1 sc, 1 sc, 1 in 1 sc.
It should read: Row 14. Toe half: 2 in 1 sc, 1 sc, 2 in 1 sc, 1 sc, 2 in 1 sc, 1sc, 2 in 1 sc, 1 sc, 2 in 1 sc. Heel half: 9 sc (14 + 9).
:)
Thanks for the heads up! =D
You’re very welcome! I am fairly new to crochet – been doing it a little over a year. A more experienced person wouldn’t have spent 45 minutes on it trying to figure out what the heck went wrong. Hopefully I’ve saved you that time.
x
gw-en is brilliant – even when fundraising events are not going, they continue promoting GW2 & GW – bringing community members on air (I’ve been on several times) to chat. They regularly run contests and give away prizes to players in both games. And the music they play is pretty darn good too.

Oh wow, epic carving skills! I feel very inspired…have a couple of pumpkins yet to carve….hmmmm….
Thank you! They are well loved already! Their little feets are just a bit out of shape, but that is a-okay with them and me.
Oh wow, that is so cute!
Wow, that is really cool!! Awesome job
Oh wow, nice catch!
Crocheted these from a pattern by Granny Square Maniac…the big pink one is my 10 year old daughter’s newest bedtime buddy and for my nearly 8 year old son, the blue one who is also a bedtime friend friend to him and Mousie.
GM: scaled to roster size or members online?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: fizzypetal.7936
In HoT, will roster size determine the difficulty level that is set for guild missions? In other words does it scale to the numbers online at that moment or to the size of the roster?
We are a small guild – our roster currently shows 28, but less than 10 are actually very active.
It has been quite some time since we’ve even had 10 online at the same time, maybe more like 7. We are hoping that will change once HoT is launched – we are rather assuming that the bulk of our AFKrs are just waiting for Friday to roll around before they dip back in to the game.
I hope this question makes sense…
Thank you for passing my message of gratitude along. I wish I were better at expressing myself…a simple thank you for being part of the process that is extending my life doesn’t seem adequate… <3
Since originally being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2008, I have reaped the benefits of Global research and am currently on a fairly new chemotherapy agent that is targeted so it nukes the mutated cells, and not my healthy ones. The hope is that I will have fewer side effects and all of the mutations will get picked up thus keeping me in remission for a much longer time than previously.
A close ally of the Queen happens to be working in this field (and on developing this specific type of treatment), and I can say that initiatives such as this really do help. Cancer research has improved a lot over the past few years, and with the right amount of support, eventually cancer will be vanquished.
Thank you so much for your reply!! How cool is that!! The science behind it is totally fascinating to me so I’m pretty engaged with my docs waging the battle on the battleground that is my body. It has been a pretty tenacious adversary, slightly evolving with each res. Fascinating, but scary because it is happening to me. I would love to be able to see my cells and tissues under the microscope – I always want to know more – and see what they see. I have from the beginning donated all of my tissues to research so hopefully my tissues along with many others will aid researchers in discovering more life extending, targeted therapies, and maybe even a cure.
And a massive, massive thank you to the “close ally of the Queen” for becoming a scientist specialising in cancer research. Without our scientists, I would not be here. My kids wouldn’t have their mom and my friends and family wouldn’t have their pain in the butt wife or partner in crime soul sister….thank you, thank you, thank you…. <3

Most entertaining message Ferroc! One of my guildies pointed it out to me and I’m glad she did.
I’d pitch our guild to you but sadly most of our members are on hiatus until HoT (we hope that is the reason anyway)…your hours of play are maybe slightly out of sync with our regulars and I’d be concerned you might be a bit on your own.
You had a pretty great response from Holy so I expect you’ve probably already found yourself a home…
All the best,
One Foot In the Grave
(at just nearing 40 you consider yourself a ‘cantankerous old fogey’ – I’m a bit further up up the track from you so I’m guessing I gotta be pretty close to becoming buzzard food)
Congrats on the birthday, looks like you’ve got a lot of fun planned!
Howdy Michiko! Thank you for posting your guild info. I’ve posted your thread to the PvX section of the General Guild Directory – this is the link. If you at some point want to be able to manage your own post, please feel free to post the info up in a new thread. When I see yours go up, I’ll take the one I put up down.
So that you can use the same thread title, you will see I’ve done (DKB) Divine Knights of Balthazar – you should type [DKB] Divine Knights of Balthazar. The difference is that I use () around the guild tag – people that post their own threads should use [] around the tag.
A top tip – there are players that still like to know what home server a guild belongs to. It would help your recruitment thread acquire more views if it were also listed in the server section that is home to your guild. If you want the extra exposure, please reply with your home server and I’ll update the directory.
Thanks!
:D
There are now 30 confirmed active EU guilds listed on the euguilds.com directory…if you haven’t listed your guild, what are you waiting for? At some point I will go through and add more but I’m really hoping that as it is a community project for the community as a whole, y’all will help a girl out and post your guild advert.
Howdy fellow Tyrians on the EU side!
Most of you hopefully will have by now heard of and are planning to join the Pink Day in LA event on 17 October. Pink Day In LA organisers need in game materials donations so they can give out lots of prizes on Pink Day In LA day! To help out, RoC [Reapers of Corvus] and [PINK] are hosting a ‘Silverwastes Nukefest’ on Monday 5 October from 19:30 UK for EU players .
At 19:30 UK time, meet at Camp Resolve Waypoint in The Silverwastes with plenty of bag space, your axes and picks at the ready. In addition to doing some Mordrem pruning, we shall be chopping and mining mats as we go along. Any yellows and lower level gear you get, please break them down for T-6 mats. Any exotics would be most gratefully received as well.
If your toon isn’t high enough level for The Silverwastes, you can still help. Some of the lower level materials such as cotton, linen, iron and so on are used in time gated Ascended crafting materials and are most welcome donations.
If you can’t make it to the event, no problem. As you travel around Tyria in the coming weeks, please consider donating a portion of your materials farming when you are adventuring. All donations gratefully received!
Please send your donations to one of the following:
jknrich.1549
fizzypetal.7936.
All the proceeds will be dropped in to the Pink Day In LA Guild Bank.
This event will be live streamed on www.twitch.tv/djangozapp so dye that armour pink, break out your Pink Quaggan Backpack and be ready to have some fun!
Thank you Pixie for Kit the Traveler. Awesome job by you!!! xoxo
I’ve been playing MMOs for 10 years – been in a handful of guilds during that time. In GW2 I’ve only been in two guilds since launch – I left the first because I didn’t like the rules. The second one me and a friend started and is still going. Because we don’t want a revolving door we have a good conversation with all prospective members. Let said person know the pros and cons of being a part of our community and find out what they want from a guild. They get a sense of us, we of them. It is a method that works for us as we have very, very few people leave us. Occasionally we do turn people away and vice versa – rather have the honesty at the outset than have someone come and go two days later.
If you are an EU Guild/Organisation or Streamer, and don’t have time to post your guild details on euguilds.com, please post a link to your recruitment thread here. I will post up a thread on your behalf.
In addition to the above – if you are organising community events, euguilds.com has a place for that too! http://euguilds.com/board/62/pve-open-world-events-communities
