Yeah I do hope they aren’t pushing to only make condi viable for necros. Scepter is already the meta in PvP and they’ve just made it even stronger. There’s some serious power creep going in on the 26th, which means if no power increase for power necros, we’ll be forced to condi.

Coming balance patch:

Corrupt boon changing from corrupting 5 to 3 boons, but cooldown reduced to 15 secs.

Scepter also getting corrupt boon.

Lifeblast will pierce by default.

Requesting Feature: Private Commander Tag

in WvW

Posted by: gavyne.6847

gavyne.6847

I would suggest a compromise. Allow private tags, but allow commanders to see other tags on the map. Commanders often work together even if they are separate guilds running private raids. Being able to see the pins is quite important for coordination purposes.

So let the commanders pinned up to be able to see other tags. But do let people pin private if they wish because there’s really no reason to make this tedious. Guilds already run private tag-less with a focus target on the driver. All you’re doing refusing private tags, forcing guilds to run tag-less, is by making it difficult for guilds/commanders to work together. This, is the very definition of “not healthy”.

As for making WvW more newbie friendly, pins are the least of your worries. This isn’t PvE, I know how it is with folks map hopping until they find an organized map to do meta with in PvE. In WvW, people don’t just come in to do 1 thing. People do roam and see if there are any action, if there are havoc groups, to see if there are objectives they can cap with a small group. People do a lot of things even if there are no pins up.

Also the best thing you can do to make WvW more newbie friendly is to remove cancer banners, aerial strikes, and balance classes so people don’t get 1 shot by Coalescence of Ruin. How about look into redesigning the desert borderlands to not be so big and tedious to get around, to remove gimmicks that bug people like cripple fields, lava spitting npc/objects, rocks that pop up and block you for no reason, etc.. How about fixing oasis event so it doesn’t cause zone-wide skill/warping lag? Imagine if Auric Basin’s meta event causing zone-wide skill lag, how soon would you guys fix this problem then?

Private commander pins are the least of your worries when it comes to things not healthy for the game.

I’ve got no problems with it. Just…give us bigger discounts especially those of us that have already bought 5 of these shared slots. There are people waiting to give you more money if you allow more than 5 shared slots.

Yeah don’t think I said anything about T1 being dead. But just because NA prime timezone is blobby, doesn’t mean WvW is in a healthy state, especially with banner & trigger abuse. NA primetime have always been blobby on NA T1 servers.

But there used to be action during EU, now it’s just havocs ppting. There are also other tier servers that are really ghost towns, the fact that servers have fallen from full to very high, and very high to high, etc.. shows it well.

People are just bored and many stuck around this long for that good news, you know since they promised WvW being their main focus after HoT launch. Many threw their hands up in the air yesterday after reading Colin’s blog post about how WvW revamp won’t be until later this year. Heck not even the revamp, they simply said they’ll start the beta of the revamp later this year.

Curse you Anet, your state of the game update have pretty much made people in the guilds I run with download other games. They’re now branching into other games, and we all know that simply leads to less GW2 playtime, and less money spent in GW2…and eventually guilds breaking up because people are going to be playing everything other than GW2. We’re now losing commander coverage on a T1 server due to lack of fights & action, and players are dropping like flies in multiple guilds. Amazing how you could do all that with 1 post. People seriously expected better, people thought you were going to finally give us some good news with WvW. People thought big changes were coming soon, as in Q1 2016…not end of the year 2016. People stuck around for the good news, only to be disappointed yet again.

Players are tired of being lead by a carrot on a stick they’re never going to get. One promises after another, the lies about how WvW was going to be the main focus after HoT launch. Yeah, we all know what you’re really working on, you’re working on raids, because another raid wing’s coming woot woot. More balances coming based on esports, woot woot, what could go wrong?! Meanwhile, WvW in its current iteration is still buggy as heck, balance is totally off whack due to banners & aerial strike gimmicks, oasis event causing zone-wide lag is still there, population is still not balanced and all servers are losing WvW participation all around.

I’m beyond sad & disappointed.

Is there any viable build with gs for spvp?

in Necromancer

Posted by: gavyne.6847

gavyne.6847

GS is “viable” if you play in the amber, emerald, ,sapphire…and maybe even ruby level. This is because in these divisions, people pretty much play whatever they want and some people use some of the worst builds possible. But above that, you’ll be laughed at and will find it difficult to use effectively.

Boosting baseline shroud is a good thing, but unless they give death shroud mobility and personal stab, it’ll still be inferior to reaper shroud. The name of the game in current meta is mobility mobility mobility…and sustain sustain sustain. Lack of mobility and getting punted around are the main weaknesses to death shroud. Will they address those issues? I guess we’ll see.

Good to hear there will be some improvements to elite spec traits. Although I’m a bit weary after they nerfed our group sustain via blighter’s boon change. Still, looking forward to seeing the changes.

And Robert Gee, please please look into making GS viable for PvP.

Edit: Note, with the nerf to quickness rez, it’ll be a direct nerf to necro/reaper’s viability at highend PvP. Right now if there’s a necro out there, the necro is getting all the focus attention. But with quickness rez, you can get right back up over half of the time provided you have good team support.

Once they nerf quickness rez (and rightfully so, it should’ve never even been a thing), doubling necros will be much easier and teams will think even harder to find a way to slot necros into their comps. I really hope Robert Gee understands this, as right now it’s hard enough for us necros/reapers when we’re always the first focus target, and we get singled quite often. Fast rez is allowing us to get back up with team support. Once that’s gone, we’re going to be even bigger liabilities than we are right now.

It may be time to give us some sort of active defense. Or we’re gonna still be on the outside of the highend meta looking in, watching other classes get boosted and get slotted into team comps ahead of us.

Why I think HoT failed

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: gavyne.6847

gavyne.6847

The good:

1. Gliding, it’s everything we had hoped for and more.

2. Guild Halls, very pretty and very grand, need bigger guild arenas though, and more customization all around.

3. Elite specs, very powerful and fun.

4. Verdant Brink & Auric Basin, I had a good time in these zones, they were refreshing, challenging, fun, and doable.

5. Squad UI

6. The early reversal & reduction to hero points needed to unlock elite specs. Good move on this to make the change early, I don’t think I would’ve stuck around if the game still required 400 hp’s to unlock each elite specs per character. Able to obtain hero points in WvW was also a good thing, although making them soulbound was a bad move.

7. Personal story, I thought it was fun.

8. Masteries, some of the masteries are actually interesting to obtain. I dreaded the grind initially but eventually after several characters, I’ve unlocked most masteries I’ve wanted. So in hindsight the grind isn’t as bad as I initially thought as long as I don’t play to grind the mastery points. Instead I just went through and unlocked elite specs on several characters, did their personal stories, and obtained mastery points while doing so, and it worked out.

The bad:

1. Tangled Depths and Dragon Stand. I could never got into these zones, hence HoT’s content is cut short for me because I just can’t stand playing in TD & DS. The devs that designed VB & AB, kudos, you all deserve cookies. Please re-evaluate the differences between these zones and understand why people embrace Auric Basin yet stay away from Tangled Depths. Tedious is not fun. Every character I play now, I go through to unlock their hero points via the first 2 zones, then finish the rest in WvW. I would finish the personal story line, but that’s about all I enter TD & DS for. If only the last 2 zones were as fun as the first 2.

2. WvW, you’ve introduced tons of bugs, with no fixes in sight nearly 3 months into HoT launch. New BL’s have buggy gimmicky mechanics such as oasis event which creates terrible zone-wide lag. You’ve introduced overpowered banners & upgrade mechanics that this game mode didn’t need and no one asked for. So not only is WvW extremely buggy to play in at the moment, it’s totally unbalanced and at times downright not fun at all.

3. PvP league, no need to say more. Spend a few minutes reading the PvP forum you’ll get a good idea at how unhappy people are. I managed to soloQ to diamond, but I can’t say I enjoy much of PvP at the moment. Balance is extremely whacked, match system is a mess, and there are still bugs such as getting randomly stuck in place bug or invisible dragonhunter traps that shouldn’t exist in a competitive environment.

4. You messed with your casual playerbase. It’s common knowledge that if you want a successful MMORPG, you don’t mess with your casual playerbase. People are unhappy about the expansion for many different reasons. You should never make people feel comfortable about playing your game, get used to their characters and the way you developed the content, etc.. then in one sweep change things drastically to cater to a much smaller playerbase that enjoy things being tedious. There’s a very fine line between tedious and challenging. You swing the content too far the other direction, you’ll find yourself losing a large chunk of your casual playerbase.

5. Baseline classes got left behind. Elite specs are an improvement to virtually all baseline classes.

Games kill themselves, at the moment the way things are going in GW2, it’s bleeding players slowly and it’s pretty much all GW2’s fault. This game has such potential for a great PvP game, and unlimited potential in WvW. But somehow the developers are just not handling it right, or prioritizing things right.

A new game may not “ruin” GW2, but it will draw players away. If you look at how small the PvP playerbase is in GW2, drawing any % away would make a fairly big hit to this game.

Bleeding any segment of the playerbase at the moment, be it PvE, PvP, or WvW, would hurt GW2 greatly. And honestly, at the moment, some competition may just be what GW2 needs to light a fire under their dev team.

Dragon banners, seriously?

Ironically, its a test that many hardcore WvWers wanted – no limitation on AoE.

Sensible people knew it would be disastrous but nope, many has been adamant that specific players are supposed to wreck a zerg (be it a meteor storm with no AoE cap or a banner). Bet they are celebrating now. Well, until they are on the recieving end.

Nobody asked to test uncapped AOE with such high damage. When you remove player caps on AOE, you’re supposed to lower the damage, not quadruple it. Having played DAOC and know exactly what players asked for, nobody asked for these overpowered offensive & defensive banners that do not even utilize player/class skills.

They’re not needed, stop trying to find ways around to fit them in. They only make larger, organized guilds even more powerful when these guilds didn’t need help in the first place. Rather than tell people to go somewhere else if they bump into larger, more organized guilds using them. How about we just keep these cheese gimmicks out of WvW in the first place? Let’s do more player vs player, rather than player vs environment & gimmicky objects.

World vs World Holiday Sneak Peek

in WvW

Posted by: gavyne.6847

gavyne.6847

Please focus on fixing bugs while you’re tinkering with WvW gameplay and such. Notable bugs that should’ve been fixed a long time ago are:

1. Wall bugs

-There are multiple bugs here, one is the walls are layered and flickering.
-Walls/doors that you can’t damage.
-Walls that you’ve knocked down to 0 health, but graphics still show up like the wall’s still there, yet you can walk through the pixels.
-Walls that get stuck at 1% health and you can’t knock it down.

2. Oasis event

-Extreme lag when you have more than a couple of groups doing it, especially so when other server’s contesting it. Lag can be felt everywhere in the zone, even at spawn.
-Warping lag, skill lag, random death lag.

This is again something that shouldn’t exist 2+ months into expansion launch. Either fix it, or disable it. And it’s a shame that the whole middle area is pointless when oasis event isn’t up. It almost look like a fun place to fight in. But most people probably avoid it like plague due to being traumatized by the oasis lag…and the fact that it’s absolutely pointless to fight over it. Please consider turning off the oasis event, and put something else in its place so players always have a reason to fight over the mid section of the map.

3. Invisible dragonhunter traps.

-I file this under bugs because something that traps me in place should not be invisible. It causes deaths and if I can’t see what’s blocking me from moving, I can’t counter it. I have to guess whether it goes away or not, if guessed wrong, I get knocked down and my skills go on cooldown, which often leads to deaths. If I stand still too long while waiting for the invis traps to go away, I may get cooked and bombed, and again leads to deaths.

Stuff like this shouldn’t exist in competitive environment. This affects both WvW & PvP. Fix it already please.

4. Stuck in place bug

-This happens everywhere in the game, and it’s worse in WvW & PvP because it causes deaths. Again this shouldn’t exist in competitive environment, and nobody would take your esports seriously if they get stuck in place for no reason. You have to emote or jump or dodge roll to get unstuck. It just happens randomly with no condi’s on you, and you have to spam different things to get unstuck. It’s just an ugly bug.

5. Bugged waypoints

-Waypoints that do not get contested even though you’re literally fighting on them. It leads to spawn rushing and create impossible to take keeps.
-On the flip side, keeps with no player attacking them, but go contested for no reason and remain so for a very long time. Waypoints are just so bugged since HoT launch…and it’s a very important part of this game mode.

6. Lords that get stuck out of place

-We took the fire keep, and the lord was stuck standing IN LAVA. So it just kept dying over and over, people revived the lord, it would still stand in lava and die again.
-Both keep & tower lords stand in weird spots, sometimes by the doors, sometimes off on the wall somewhere. Why isn’t this fixed by now?

7. Capture announcements

-This is more of a QoL improvement, but I’ll file it under bugs because it blocks my field of view and nobody asked for it. Seriously it’s intrusive, and it blocks a good portion of the screen while you’re fighting. Give us a way to disable the on-screen announcements. I’m fine with these announcements go in the chat box. I don’t need these announcements popping up regularly in middle of my screen.

8. Commander tags not showing on map

-This bug happens randomly, sometimes you see the commander tags, sometimes you don’t. Nobody knows why, it just disappears randomly, and pops back up randomly. It’s a very annoying bug when commanders are trying to coordinate on the battlefield.

9. Unable to change commander pin color while in squad

-It’s like rocket science to try to change your commander pin color if you’re already leading a squad. Sometimes commanders have to disband the squad to change the color. Sometimes they’re simply unable to change the pin color. Why is this even a problem in this game?

These bugs have been there since HoT launch, it’s now almost 3 months in, these bugs shouldn’t have lasted this long in the game. This is why players have no confidence in Anet, these bugs shouldn’t exist 2+ months into expansion launch. No other game modes have these many bugs that interfere with the gameplay. And people wonder why WvW is dying and players are avoiding it.

Dragon banners, seriously?

None of these banners belong in WvW, they belong in PvE where players happily receive overpowered, ridiculous damage buffs. Give these banners to PvE players, you’ll make both PvE & WvW players happy. Win/win, imagine that…making both modes happy. Would Anet get it? Likely not, balance is completely whack at the moment in both WvW & PvP leagues.

Stronghold is failing because of premade abusing that sort of comp.

+1, right now it’s easy rank up’s for premades to queue Stronghold for fast wins. NPC’s are nearly unkillable, and that’s just a flawed design for a map designed around the npc’s.

You could spend your time trying to kill door breakers with little success. Or you could chase tempest/mes around while door breakers waltz through the doors. Never thought these bunkering classes could get worse outside lil circles they have to stand in. Now you give them a whole map to kite around while they keep npc’s alive for fast/easy wins… yeah…

PvP can’t get any worse at the moment, and division ladder means absolutely nothing due to these cheese tactics. You’ve got premades cheapening the PvP league all around, be it Stronghold or Conquest.

Get rid of Turtle Banner already.

in WvW

Posted by: gavyne.6847

gavyne.6847

I understand Anet, you designed some of these things such as banners, keep upgrades, etc.. to help the little guys. But that’s not what really happens. What happens in reality is larger, organized guilds/groups are abusing your new gimmicks to the extreme. Large guilds & zergs that didn’t need help before are now just roflstomping through with these cheese banners. What used to be a test of skill, concentration, and driving between 2 fairly even numbered zergs/groups, now the fight greatly tips towards the side using these banners.

Even in siege combat, what used to be a heck of a long siege between 2 zergs over a defended keep. Now it has become impossible to siege a defended & upgraded keep with equal numbers.

These things such as turtle banners are ruining what used to be good, equal, even fights. You aren’t helping the lil guys or the under-pop server. You’re actually buffing guilds & large zergs that didn’t need help in the first place.

gavyne.6847

If you guys are talking about PvP, reaper shroud is superior in every way, no if’s and but’s about it. The extra stab will make sure you aren’t tossed around like a ragdoll as much. I say “as much” because even with pulsing stab and extra stab from chilled to the bone, you will still get tossed around a lot in higher ranked pvp.

Nobody in their right mind would allow a necro to just stand there free cast. Teams that don’t focus target necros are bad teams. Death’s Charge is a gap closer you’ll need if you even want to have a chance at fighting in ranked. Stab, mobility, stuns, and extra chills are things reapers have that’ll almost always give them the advantage over a baseline necro in any given fight.

Let’s also make one thing clear, life blast hits like wet noodles outside of 600 range. At under 600 range, you might as well be a reaper and use the melee cleaves and all the goodies that come with a reaper. Seriously, the thing I really do miss from Death Shroud is non-los lifetransfer. Everything else, I simply have not looked back because I enjoy not having that slow, uninspiring, life blast that’s easily dodged and interrupted by any decent player. Or that always unreliable dark path…give me death’s charge any day.

I agree with above poster, death shroud isn’t a good ranged dps form. It shines at under 600 range in every way, even DS 5 & 6 are 600 range. Unfortunately when it comes to under 600 range combat, reaper shroud and the traits/utilities reapers have access to are simply superior.

How to Reaper in sPvP?

in Necromancer

Posted by: gavyne.6847

gavyne.6847

If you’re a condi reaper, you can’t kill a diamond skin tempest. Don’t bother engaging or challenging a node with a tempest sitting on it. To have a chance you need to be wielding dagger/warhorn and trait death perception. Being a signet build helps because you only have very little time to corrupt boons once you shave 10% off their hp.

Revs are doable since they nerfed their resistance uptime. There are gaps to their resistance boons, and being a signet build also helps here as you can corrupt their resistance. Timely use of condi transfer is important here, you don’t want to be out of condi transfer before they unload. So watch what stance they’re in, you’ll know what they’re trying to do. Dodge their burst, corrupt the right boons, transfer only when you need to transfer. I’d consider signet reapers a soft counter to revs, to a point some revs don’t come to my node when they see me standing there.

DH is doable if you have lifeforce, without lifeforce you’re likely going to die. Fights vs DH show you why the lifeforce design is just wrong. It’s frustrating as hell seeing a DH coming at you and you’ve got zero lifeforce. There are usually objects you can use to los, don’t waste dodges & stab because you’ll need them to get out of traps.

Chronos are just a bad match up all around, although if you’re holding a node you can last long enough to get help. Just don’t expect to kill a chrono solo.

Druids, pretty much one of the best 1v1 class out there. I’ve won fights with them but it’s rare. Your best hope is to last long enough to get help from your teammates. You can’t contest a node from 1v1, but you could last long if you’re holding a node waiting for help.

In team fights yes you’ll be the focus target. Teams that don’t focus on you are bad teams. You best hope you’re with a decent team, and that they’ll assist you by providing you resistance, speed, and cleanses while you kite, spread condi’s, and they cleave it up. Very good chance you’ll get singled, but you hope something good comes out of it because people can put themselves in a vulnerable position when they try to finish you off. Some necros use wurm teleport to get out of heat, it does work. However you can find yourself in a position where you die away from your team, and you’re actually wasting time bleeding away when you should be down on point to get revived or keep a point contested longer.

Getting focused sucks, but warriors, thieves, and DH go down as fast as anybody in team fights. That doesn’t make us getting focused first right, but it may let you sleep better at night.

Reaper’s on the outside looking in when it comes to higher end pvp meta. We still get focused first, we aren’t as bunker as the other bunkers. Teams need to know how to assist reapers or you’ll have a bad time, and your team will likely lose. Good players do know if a reaper is holding a point, they may need assistance every once in awhile. Even when I get into a game, I hope I see at least a bunker ele & bunker mes because without them, your team is going to do badly.

I still like my reaper, I can do well if the team embrace having a necro on the team. But the meta calls for at least one bunker ele, one bunker mes, one rev, and the last 2 spots are often best taken by a scrapper, druid, or another bunker. I know people call reapers too powerful and how they don’t need adjustments, but I do wish people separate their views between pve, wvw, and pvp. Having a reaper isn’t quite optimal at higher end PvP. Doable if you get team assistance, and you certainly can pull your weight as you can handle the popular revs. But having to walk away from a point because a bunker ele or bunker mes is standing on it sucks heh.

Is it impossible to beat a necro now?

in Revenant

Posted by: gavyne.6847

gavyne.6847

There are counters to most class & builds. At the moment, I would consider necros a soft counter to revs at the very least. I don’t call it quite hard counter just because if a rev catches the necro with no lifeforce, then the rev has a chance. Just remember to not attempt to stack condi’s on the necro thinking it’ll be an easy win like you do with other classes. Because those condi’s will get sent right back to you, and you’re actually helping the necro secure a win despite having no lifeforce. Pre-nerf you could have enough resistance uptime to not worry about condi’s that get sent back to you. Now you do have to worry about them.

If you catch a necro with no or low lifeforce, remember hard brute force and cc’s screw them up outside of shroud be it necro or reaper. This hasn’t changed and is still a necro’s weakness. It’ll be a hard fight no doubt.

Anyways don’t feel bad, imagine how a condi necro feels going up against a diamond skin tempest. Some classes/builds simply counter others.

Signet necro ~ tired of this PvP build?

in Necromancer

Posted by: gavyne.6847

gavyne.6847

Why would I be tired of signet builds that are effective against some tougher opponents/builds? There’s a reason people use signet builds…it’s simply because signets are effective against a lot of the builds you see the higher pvp rank you go. I personally enjoy signets, but then I also enjoy being competitive and not get hard countered.

Ironically the class that can give signet builds trouble is the reaper class, played by good reapers. I find fights against reapers a toss up because it comes down to condi transfer management and timely use of cc’s.

btw I love running a signet build that includes traited Suffer & Chilled to the bone shouts. In team fights Suffer is a 12 second condi transfer skill when traited. More condi transfer is always a good thing as you know the higher MMR the more condi issues.

Someone died to a necro.

have you a burst damage combo/build? [sPvP]

in Necromancer

Reapers don’t really burst in spvp, you sustain and you wait for full stacks of condi’s from rev or mes then transfer them onto others for a burst. The main reason why you don’t build for burst is because you are the #1 target in all the fights. If there’s a necro/reaper, there’s a focus target on you. You’ll be trying to dodge, burn cooldowns, kite, golem teleport, condit transfer, etc.. you really don’t get the chance to burst.

Best burst you’ll find are to pop signets at the right time, convert boons to condi’s on your target, gain might stacks, and then go dagger auto and/or soul spiral/executioner’s scythe combo. Along with timely usage of Chilled to the bone.

Gotta add a request real quick, not sure if it has been mentioned before or not. But can we please have a toggle to disable notifications of caps in middle of our screen? It’s super annoying, most people don’t want to see it. It blocks a lot of view and interferes during heated battles.

Good changes, thank you. Next please consider:

1. Either fix the terrible warping lag when oasis event is going on, or disable it until such lag can be fixed. The lag can be felt anywhere in the zone, it causes your character to warp around, you gain terrible skill lag, and you can randomly die to falling deaths for no reason. This is more noticeable when you have at least 2 groups of players contesting the oasis event. Please either fix the lag issues, or turn this event off.

2. Turtle banner does not belong in WvW, please remove it.

NA Meta Week 4

Necros don’t counter bunker mesmers, they need to reduce the amount of blur/evades, and prevent caps when certain skills are used as sunfish noted above. Blocks have counter plays, so blocks aren’t an issue, Anet is nerfing the wrong thing tomorrow.

Ok that’s it, even Abjured caved in to the boring meta. I only stayed watching this long to see a chance Abjured could show us something different. Shutting the stream down now, no thanks.

Not having fun watching teams run the same comps, same never-ending fights, and it has even taken the excitement of close games out. Which is quite amazing imo, because close games used to be exciting and fun. Now nobody dies, nodes don’t flip as often, it’s just Zzzzzzzzzzzz.

LOL the guys doing the play by play actually sound like there falling asleep NA and EU

EU shoutcasters actually said it straight out that there wasn’t much to shout about. If shoutcasters can’t get excited about these games, how does Anet expect viewers to get into it?

Power Reaper in SPvP

Note that when signets are traited, signet of the locust is an aoe boon corrupt + heal + might stacks on 24 sec cd. Popping signets at the right time give you good burst windows. Also I like to take Suffer along with signets, it gives me an additional condi transfer in this bunker & condi heavy meta.

Such a boring ESL Pro league first game for anybody that just watched it. Not really sure if the balance changes will change any of that. But gg even the shoutcasters were bored. Do more Anet please, thanks.

The higher you progress, the more you’ll find that people will run all the meta cancer builds. Condi revs, bunker mes, bunker ele, etc.. At which time you’ll find that you need to be either condi build to help with condi pressure, or be a signet build so you can corrupt boons and have a chance at killing condi revs or breaking diamond skin. I would suggest traiting signet and going with signet build if you want to stay power-based.

You’ll see that for holding a point, nothing is better than bunker mes and bunker ele at the moment. While soldiers make you tanky, it’s not good enough. In team fights they’re still going to focus you, and you’ll still melt fast. In solo 1v1’s, lack of condi or corrupt boons will be a weakness for you.

I would recommend either go viper condi and scepter for condi pressure, or cele signet and dagger so you can corrupt boons, stack might, and have a chance at popping diamond skin or 1v1 a condi rev. Durability rune is the meta at the moment, it’s too good to not use it, so consider using it if you haven’t tried it yet.

Anyways reapers aren’t in a very good spot at the moment. You need good team support or you’ll have a very hard time. But as long as you’re having fun, keep trucking

On solo queuing to Sapphire...

gavyne.6847

I was having fun working all the way through Sapphire. However, word of advice, take your time with Sapphire. Because it’s not fun at Ruby when you can lose tiers. Watching my 2 tiers worth of pips evaporate day after day, it’s just rough. Nothing is more demoralizing to see all the time you’ve spent meant pretty much nothing because the match system is whacked.

So unless you have a team you play with, enjoy Sapphire while you can. Congrats

Buff NCSY To Counter Bunker Mesmer

in Necromancer

Posted by: gavyne.6847

gavyne.6847

NCSY is a shout so it should most definitely be instant cast. No reason it shouldn’t be. With its current cast time, that’s one shout I find awkward casting. It just doesn’t feel right having a cast time compared to the other shouts. Our elite having the cast time is fine given its powerful 2 sec unbreakable stun nature of the skill.

Honestly turning necros/reapers into a counter to bunker mes would be a wonderful thing. It’d insert us back into the meta, and many teams would likely run 1 reaper + 1 bunker mes instead of double bunker mes. If reapers can counter bunker mes and their cheese never ending evades, upper tier PvP would once again consider reapers on their team.

Currently we’re on the outside looking in, as most teams have the same comp of 2 condi revs, 1 or 2 bunker mes, and an auramancer/bunker tempest. If a team takes only 1 bunker mes they’re likely to take a scrapper as the last slot. Reapers at the moment are the last resort in front of warriors & thieves. Really not a good spot to be in, and it sucks as Reapers started out strong and pro teams actually tried to use reapers during the first pro matches.

How is the GS ??

in Necromancer

Posted by: gavyne.6847

gavyne.6847

Problem with GS in sPvP is that it’s a power weapon. And the higher you go in divisions, the more you’ll be switching to viable meta which are either condi/viper reaper or cele signet reaper, or variations of both. GS just does not cut it because pure power does not work against meta builds such as condi revs, bunker mes, etc..

I wish GS was better honestly, as reapers still need help in sPvP. GS is viewed as good in PvE mainly because of gravedigger cleave. You take that out, you’ll find GS to be extremely lackluster. And well gravedigger cleave just doesn’t happen often in PvP as you’ll get knocked around too often.

Buffing GS so it becomes viable in higher tier PvP will really help reapers out.
