No benefit to extra blasts unless it took them a while to get to 25 and you’d be refreshing a stack that’s almost over. With 2 Ele’s they likely will be doing it pretty quickly and you’re off.
The focus swapping can be nice for the initial shield burst damage, so if you’re doing that anyways might as well be in a fire field right?
But yeah, If you’re hitting 25 might in the prestack with 2 competent Ele’s nothing to get concerned about.
Yeah sometimes some ele prestack too far away from the boss XD. Alright all clear now. Thx
Hi, Is there any reason to blast more after getting 25 might?
Also pertaining to this, If I play a guardian, am I expected to blast might if the two ele mostly can cover it? (is it significantly faster if I help? I don’t play ele so I’m not sure). Because I would prefer to prepare to swap from focus into torch rather than blasting might (my inv management sucks and sometimes I lose track of my weapons and its whereabout).
With a fast group, if I need to blast might,
I do: swap to hammer, blast, swap to gs, swap weapon, prepare to switch from focus into torch (I prefer to not focus 5 for blasting). Sometimes I just can’t keep the pace up with them.
bane signet, bane signet, bane signet……
J/k. I’m not sure whether you’re trolling or not but there is a guide for guardian already. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/Guide-Playing-Guardian-in-Fractals/first#post5170283

So, I notice there are two versions of guardian meta build for radiance line and I would like to discuss/verify it.
1. Taking retribution and perfect inscription. (You have to use bane signet)
2. Taking radiant fire and amplified wrath.
AFAIK, Assuming both builds use bane signet, the version one has better damage than version two. Can anyone confirm this since I’m not sure?
So version number 2 is taken because you need the replace bane signet with other utilities, right?
Why are you posting Dub’s vid from nearly 18 months ago?
For LOL maybe.
I’m curious about this one. Which class do you think is the best for solo-ing arah?
By best, maybe give answers for the fastest class and easiest class.
For fastest, I think ele. and for easiest prolly is warrior. I’ve never solo-ed arah so I only guess
(edited by gin.7158)
Alright, Thank you for the discussion. I’ve got much new knowledge from this
.
I still prefer the combo of scorpion wire, basilisk venom, and sleight of hand for removing defiance. But in pug, I usually need to take SoR for stealth rezzing. Also, I wish they will remove the casting delay for basilisk venom.
here is short vid i did year ago step by step
In your video, you walk backward for a split second. Is it all about speed of pressing keys?
That’s actually my problem. I don’t want to walk backward nor stopping movement. I notice actually withdraw not a really speed boost. I think the covered distance is pretty similar with people walking with swiftness.
I have about-face and withdraw bound to caps lock and q respectively, makes it easy for me to do it smoothly. The actual button combo is less important than simply practicing the manoeuvre though.
Try practicing withdrawing forwards into a cloak and dagger off a target in HotM, it’s a good way to get the combo and roll distance set in your mind.
Do you use free camera? If yes, how can you keep the camera still?
(edited by gin.7158)
So, In the case where you don’t have sleight of hand, scorpion wire, and basilisk venom. Which one will you use to strip defiance?
Pistol whip has higher dps than headshot but it needs 1 more iniatiative. In my opinion, There is no reason to use headshot over pistol whip. So will it be better to use d/d – s/p for bosses that needs stripping?
Hi, I can do withdraw forward without turning camera but I need to stop moving(not pressing forward) for a split second, otherwise I’ll walk backward and then withdraw.
What’s the efficient key-pressed chain for moving withdraw forward?
maybe the staff will be a range weapon?
Here’s my hoard.
Omg, gratz to you. So organized. Are they in bank tabs or character’s inventory?
conditions get cleansed the moment something has died, the tentacles tend to still attack after dying if they started a channel beforehand, could this be what has been happening to you?
O yeah… I think so.. So that’s normal, right? I just need to dodge when it attacks after it died? It’s so weird, zombie tentacle LOL
So, occasionally the tentacle’s twirl attack goes through the blind (it doesn’t miss). I notice it happens when the tentacle is almost dead. Does it work that way or maybe my blind just fades away? Is there any indicator when the attack won’t be affected by blind?
I have no idea why sometimes it doesn’t miss.
So for example. smoke screen and static. The smoke screen area only covers some area of the static. I can’t blast them together? So I guess the common strat is to drop the static field at the top of shadow refuge and blast them to get both stealth and swiftness, right?
Enko already replied correctly, read pls:
Nope. First field down is the one that is used.
And for having both, the common strat in PUGs is to blast swiftness first and then stealth afterwards due to obvious reasons.
I read it already obviously. But I think I’ve seen people blasting for stealth and swiftness together.
Well.. I think my wording is unclear. I mean blasting with a team, not alone. So jerus answered my question. I know you can’t blast multiple field with a single blast.

Hi, I haven’t tried to blast two fields together. Is it possible to blast stealth+swiftness together or might and stealth together?
Yeah. I’m not sure trickster reducing the ICD of flanking strike is a bug or working as intended XD since they haven’t fixed it. The ICD reduction is the real merit of trickster.
and I agree with ecori, the swiftness is really nice for running between encounters. So I guess if you want to min-max. Use thrill of the crime for running between points and switch to haste just before encounters.
Wouldn’t it depend on group composition. And, if we’re talking about strait meta including composition you’re covered on might/fury/swiftness outside of split tactics or solo WP unlocking runs. Outside meta if you need fury Thrill seems pretty nice.
Yeah I think so. All of them are pretty good. I like thrill of the crime for the swiftness during run between point to point, and switch to haste before encounters.
I don’t get why the meta build suggests to take bountiful theft though. It’s not like there are many cases where you can steal boon from enemies. and the extra vigor, I don’t think it’s really helpful – especially in a good/coordinated group. I think haste and trickster are the best to take for dps. Open for discussion
.
So we don’t get skill points/spirit shards anymore for leveling up a lv80 char. I don’t get why Tome of knowledge gives spirit shards but leveling up a lv80 char is not.
So for trickster, which first two traits should we take? I can’t decide between thrill + bountiful theft and haste + trickster.
I prefer the latter, It seems to give better dps.
Absolutely, I feel your pain. It feels truly hard to get spirit shards now.
(edited by gin.7158)
I seem overestimated the damage from sigil of air. I think I’ll keep force, night, strength, and frailty.
Maybe justice and undead slaying when I feel rich. Ty all for the input. That sigil of air though, I think it has been a bug for a long time(since release?). Anet pls.
Seriously, I feel it’s far harder to get spirit shards nowadays. Can we get spirit shards from leveling up a lvl 80 character?
Here is what I do. For my weapons with night time sigil, I use royal ascalonian skins. They glow at night. This helps me remember to swap them out if they are not glowing. And then you never have to look it up.
Yeah it’s a good idea to do that. but I love my incinerator on thief. afterall , this is fashion wars 2
. I guess I will look for a mini that glows in the night.
Hmm.. so in non-ideal world where might and vuln are not capped and 5 man group situation in case.
The rule is strenght>frailty>air? is it correct?
Obviously this is for daytime dungeon or fractal only.
(edited by gin.7158)
Can anyone tell me fractals with night time? From what I know :
Swamp, Snowblind, Volcanic (grawl), underground facility(dredge), and jade maw.
Did I miss anything?
Hi, I have been wondering how to choose the mentioned sigils. Can anyone tell me when I should take a particular sigil over the others? Profession in case is thief, for that matter.
(edited by gin.7158)
Ring of warding is your frand
it’s easier with immob imo. Let thief put needle trap and combo with human racial skill that gives a long lasting immob
ty for thorough answer. gonna pay attention next time.
Hi guys, can anyone tell me what triggers ooze to spawn at thaumanova fractal?
I know we can get silver doubloon from jumping puzzle chests. But is it possible to get one from a basic chest? How is the chance compared to jumping puzzle chests?
Any suggestion where to farm spirit shards nowadays?
I tried with thief once, but I feel that my necro can complete hearts faster than thief since thief lacks AOE damage. But I used d/d, guess I need to go with s/d for extra cleave?
As the title suggests, what is the fastest profession for clearing renown hearts? ele or thief maybe?
as the title suggest, Can anyone recommend one? i guess the dps build(fire/water/air) with d/d ?
Well… human female is meta ;p
The animation is perfectly ok for me.
Yeah the problem is I don’t feel like doing my personal story, it’s so boring in my humble opinion. I only wanna unlock my pvp reward track.
Can I complete arah story (to open arah dungeon reward track) without doing my personal story (maybe by joining other people) ?
+1…. but wouldn’t it be too OP for PvE
.
I know that permanent ones are fixed. But for the normal ones, I found out that they are fixed for one day also. I guess because I ended up at the same map for the whole day instead of getting another new map that I hadn’t visited on that day.
This is why maps like blootide coast and sparkfly fen have inconsistent nodes since people come and go for teq and triple trouble. This is my discovery so far and it does make sense with all your information. thx.
(edited by gin.7158)
Hi guys, So I just got into gathering recently. I noticed that several gathering nodes stay the same for a whole day. Has anyone researched how frequent they are changed? Bcoz so far with 3 days gathering routine, The second day and the third day have quite similar nodes for a whole day, Only the first day has different nodes location.
Map in this case is timberline falls.
Mithril is not worth to be taken I think. I can vouch for watchwork mining pick, it will be worth as time goes on. Does it give faster mining time? I feel that way, not sure if it’s only my imagination.
Can someone tell me the lucrative commodity to mine? I think platinum and iron ore are the good ones and they are ubiquitous at several maps. I think I’m gonna focus on those things since I bought the watchwork mining pick. Orian sapling, butternut squash, omnomberry, lemongrass, and ghost pepper are good but quite rare.
As regard to 10gold/hour, I think I read obsolete information. I’ve grown weary of farming dungeons and silverwaste, so I’m looking another activity
. Thx for all your input
Hi, I read that you can get 10g/hour with gathering. Can someone show me how to do it? Like the route, any tool or tips? what are profitable things to gather?
ohh thx, I usually use right click to rotate .
Hi, I saw some pvp streamer rotate camera while moving to another direction. How can I achieve this? It’s like looking at side way while moving forward.
Yeah the condition is constantly above 90%HP since this is for PvE. Ty for answers
as the title suggests, which one gives more dps?
I think multi guardian symbols is “working as intended”
