So, because the area is different, it’s now a totally different effect? What?
Yes
I have a feeling the Necro skill they showed off in the Necromancer Skill trailers which was never used, but modified, will be one of the Skills for the Greatsword.
Not the same effect at all.
The trailer was showing Grasping Dead. The only difference is that Grasping Dead is now a circular AoE instead of a line. Everything else about the skill remained identical.
Yes, I know Grasping Dead is in the game. IS THE EFFECT IN THE GAME. NO. I’m talking about the freaking effect.
The effect is skeletal arms reaching up from the ground to damage and bleed foes. What do you think Grasping Dead is?
Is Grasping Dead going in a straight line right now? No. It’s in a circle. Not a straight line.
Check out the Revenants skills, they have several where the effect starts from the player and trails off in a straight line.
The ability for GS is NOT GOING TO CALLED GRASPING DEAD. It’s probably going to be called something else, with different damage/conditions, but with the straight effect.
Anyways. That’s just my speculation. No point arguing about till ANET decides to one day talk about Specialization instead of stuff I personally don’t care about and we get to actually see what the new skills are.
But i speculate one of the new abilities we’ll get for GS is going to be a downward stab, like how mesmers do now, with this straight line of skeleton hands trailing for a certain distance with additional black and green smoke.

Can we get the option to hide Minis? I’ve noticed that when they are automatically hidden during World events, my framerate jumps from 15-20fps to 45-50fps and it makes fights look and feel much more enjoyable.
Maybe have 3 options?
Show all Minis
Show only your Mini
Hide all MinisMust be your imagination, I can barely see any difference in fps if minis are there or not.
Then I suppose next time I have a chance to play and participate at an event, I’ll try to record it.
They should just have a new condition called Decay and it acts like bleed but for objects.
So when you apply condition that damages over time on the object, it automatically changes to Decay.
I 100% agree with this. Minis detract from my enjoyment of the game by making my ping higher and my FPS lower.
Guess it’s just us that would like to hide Minis =[

And not in BL Chest item. Gemstore item.
I’m going to be using the Jotun Greatsword. I got the Shadow one as well, so I’ll switch to it from time to time.
I find most outfits to be ugly… So i just got the ones that looks alright.
I really hope we start getting more armor pieces rather than outfits. I want to customize my characters looks, not look like everyone else that uses the same outfits. I want to mix and match. I would love if they scrap Outfits and incorporate them into armors wardrobe. I can finally wear pants on a light armor.
Or better yet, keep outfits like they, but i would love it if they scrap the whole armor weight restriction, instead replace it with armor proficiency. Meaning you could wear any armor you want, but your class determines how much protection you’ll get from the pieces. It’s as logical as Rangers using Harpoons underwater but suddenly forgetting how to pull the trigger on a Rifle on land… or how we can use spears underwater, but not on land. Fits with the game.

Only thing I want from Gemstore is an Infinite Transmutation Stone… and what RoyalPredator.9163 posted.
We are getting changes tomorrow.
I mean the whole Trait system change that Colin mentioned in another thread.
Will we be seeing Profession Updates/Changes (not talking about Masteries/Specilizations, but traits, skills, etc.) get released over time between now and HoT or will all these changes come as soon as HoT is available?
Edit: Not talking about tomorrows changes.

I see it being in the 15-30$ range.
Pretty much decided on Dhuumseal but that may change depending on if I change my armour look.
Right there with you.. It was made for Necros… Dhuumfire… Dhuumseal.
I’m hoping with more specializations we get more weapons… I really want Hammer Necro
Grapesword is grape though. Not complaining.
Sticking to my only character, Necro.
Forget DX11, DirectX 12 would benefit this game way more. But it’s not going to happen. If in 2 years we barely saw actual optimization to the engine instead of masking some shortcomings, then it’s not going to happen.
I use Reaper of Grenth (Human) on my Necro from time to time.
Glad it worked for you!
I’ve been having quite some trouble getting groups going. I only have a Necro (not interested in the other classes cause they all bore me, plus i dislike having alts), so usually a few people join, we wait to have a full group, nothing happens and everyone disbands.
I don’t bother with Dungeons anymore.
I’d be fine with heavily reduced effects as well. Sign me up either way.
As fruitless as this is… Just commenting to push this thread back on the top. A gram of hope left that’ll they actually do something.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind if the class was completely reworked and not focused on Condi/Minions, rather give it something special. The class is always going to fail if they design it around condition due to the condition cap/plethora of removals. Minions are just too freaking dumb. Having them replaced with new skills would be a welcome change for me. I’ve only used them a handful of times, hated every second of it.
Of course, all this is just wishful thinking that will never happen.
It boggles my mind we don’t have Test Servers for GW2… It’s been 2 years and still nothing. This is where they can test and have the feedback of the community. Instead, they still rely on a handful of people that dictate the outcome of every class related patch. Not to mention we’re all kept in the dark till the last minute.
Blizzard was able to rework classes and improve them with the help of the community and the test servers. Constantly communicating with their player base on upcoming changes and additions for the classes.

Macros for 1 key : 1 key are allowed so this should be acceptable if it has a keybind in the game at least and your keyboard/mouse software supports toggles.
I’m using a Corsair K70… which doesn’t have dedicated macro buttons :/ I looked if I could get the utility to do it, but there are none for the K70. It just has firmware updates on the official website.
Since this has not been implement for 2 years in the game now, is there any third party way to do it?
Much appreciated!
I’d be fine with this if it let us switch faction (Vigil, Whisper, Priory), yet keep access to all their items once unlocked.
Personally, I don’t care about the expansion, I still have a lot to see/explore… Since I only play Necro and it’s my only class (I don’t like having alts), I just want new weapons for my class and a tweak or 2 to break the “Necros are useless in Dungeons” mindset in the community. That’s all I would like from the devs.
I really want to do Dungeons and later Fractals.
I wouldn’t mind having either. Hammer sounds cooler though. I believe it was in Diessa Plateau and inside a cave, i found a Steel Hammer, that I was able to bring it with me everywhere… Fun times
Now if only it was a permanent weapon for us.
Another 1200 range weapon would be delicious too… Rifle? Sorta like the half-witch in Dungeon Siege 3… using Witchcraft with bullets… but instead of witchcraft… necromancy…?!
?

Gotta keep up the pressure!
Besides, the devs might rather hear people proposing new weapons than outcries to get the attention from them by threatening to quit or shooting this and that is op or rewards aren’t handed to them on silver platters. There have been plenty of threads proposing new weapons, including a number of weapon concept threads. All of them have been ignored by developers.
No, they are either keeping the development of new weapon options in the background, slowly working on a few of them, lumping many of them together at once, or outright neglecting to work on them.
This pretty much. I just want to know what’s the status of this… Is it being worked or not. It’s not a question of quitting or not, however it would be great to know that our characters will be getting new toys to play around with.
Some stuff doesn’t make sense either… Ranger can use Harpoons underwater, but suddenly forgets how to pull a trigger on land and can’t use Rifle? Warrior can use Longbows but doesn’t remember how to pluck a shorter string to use a Shortbow? How can an Engineer not know how to use a mace or hammer? 2 NPC Necromancers use Greatsword, but our characters can’t? Why bother making those NPCs Necromancers if you’re just going to taunt the player Necromancers with a weapon they’ll never get.
Of course adding new weapons to classes adds complications with balance and what not, but it also adds character customization and build diversity.
Meanwhile Traeherne and Marjory mockingly flail around their greatswords at the players.
Yea…. I pretty much exclusively play with my Necro, compared to some alts I can’t be bothered to continue cause it’s too boring… It makes me sad that even ANet knows that something is missing for the necro so the NPCs get greatswords.
I haven’t been playing GW2 in a while, just recently started again, so bare with me.
Pretty sure this has already been suggested but still want a proper answer from devs… I remember people asked this a few weeks after launch and their answer was that they eventually want every class to use all weapons… Yet here we are! Not a single new weapon added to any classes.
Is it completely abandoned or what?
Staff AA? Anti-Aliasing? I’m a newb with GW2 terminologies…
LOL
Auto-Attack as in Necrotic Grasp as in the #1 skill on the staffOn topic – it is frikin amazing! it really is so much more efficient when starving for LF on a condi build
AH! Of course… makes sense now. Thanks

Take a break from the game, come back in a decade when hardware can compensate for bad engines…
I experienced similar issues for the past 24 hours. Everyone appeared to be wearing a white “cookie cutter” outfit based on the material type template…very annoying.
I used the information found at https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/FPS-and-Performance-based-issues-1 and followed the settings outlined there and my problem was fixed
Tried and everyone in LA has the same outfit still.

It’s because the WvW Character Quality setting is set to Lowest.
Don’t waste money upgrading your PC just for GW2. There’s no point. ANet is not gonna optimize the engine anytime soon. Their way of “optimizing” is by giving us the option to make the game look even uglier.
If you wanna enjoy the game with higher fps, you’re going to have to deal with the option that makes everyone look like everyone else.
Poor performance is going to persist till the end of the games life. Bad engine is bad, no way around it. I pretty much exact same PC as you and I just set everything to low.
Anet doesn’t give a kitten about optimization. Their solution is to introduce settings that let’s you lower the quality of the games visuals. Which isn’t really optimization, it’s just letting you make the game uglier.
Just gotta deal with it.
(People, especially Anet Tech Support, will tell you to not overclock and blah blah blah… It doesn’t really matter, you’re going to get even worse performance with stock CPU speeds).
Maybe he changed the input of the MOnitor… Check if it’s input is DVI VGA or maybe HDMI. Have it plugged into the GPUs output and if the inputs on the monitor lights up then success, if not, then it’s another issue.
One that’s confused me is Bone Minions… On land, they have a cast time (summoning animation)… In water, they have no cast time (instantly summoned)
Alot of people have already suggested some stuff that I’d like to see, but I mainly want the following:
I’d like to see the Axe 1 getting buffed, maybe add a cleave mechanic to it or increase it’s dmg.
Another change I would love to see is for underwater (I know, underwater, no one likes that , but w/e) instead of disabling the wells, they should become like ‘clouds’.
Speaking of Wells, give each a different effects added to the current effects:
- Suffering would have undead creatures/people struggling in the area, arms popping out of the ground trying to grasp the sky.
-Darkness would have a dark mist
-Corruption would well… corrupt the area, transforming trees/grass…
-Blood would have a like some decorative sink in the middle filled with blood.
Last but no least, maybe modify some of the position of the traits, name the axe/dmg under 50% ones…
Same thing with the Breeder/Traps event in Path 2. FPS tanks.
Time for my “Will devs ever respond to the community questions regarding performance” bump of the day!
If a dev does decide to answer to our myriad of questions, I will buy that devs’ toon a Quaggan backpack for appreciation.
Resorting to bribery…….
I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a copy-paste “we know of the issues and we’re working on it”
I just wish they would give us some kind of an update. Something along the lines of “We are working on the performance issues. We hope to have DX11 patched in this year.” Even that would be enough.
DX11 is not a silver bullet.
I agree, DX11 wouldn’t really solve anything. That’s just uninformed claims, just like when people call for a 64 bit client. It would be nice to have for a few reasons, but far from being high priority.
I only wonder how they managed to build such an engine for a game that’s focused on epic scale battles. It should have come to their mind that maybe more than 10 people will be in one place in an MMORPG… didn’t those problems occur in the BWEs?
Your last sentence made me think… Did ANET ever show WvW trailer with large number of players in one concentrated area? So I looked around and found the official WvW trailer and as expected the largest battle is between 20 people or less ( in those scenes the 30fps is normal, besides the video’s 30fps)… but there were a few scenes where there was more people attacking an area and you can tell by the video that the game was suffering from fps issues….
Official WvW Trailer
See the difference between 0:27 or 0:32 and 1:23
Since these videos were out since before the beta… I’m guessing they were aware of the issue, yet ignored it for some unknown reason.

I experience insane fps drop during the Breeder event in Ghost Eater path… Lately the general performance of GW2 has been dwindling for me. I’ve deleted local.dat, it was alright for a bit, but then it was back to poor performance.
Call me selfish or an kitten, but I honestly want the games engine to suffer from horrendous issues to the point it becomes unplayable. Why? So ANET FINALLY DOES SOMETHING ABOUT IT. These performance issues starting to take away from my enjoyment of playing GW2. I’ve completely stopped going to WvW now too since it just isn’t fun when it’s dropping down to such low fps. Guess i should stop going to AC and other dungeons as well and later on Dynamic events too. What’s left after that.

I just came back to check the forums and see if anything has been done to improve the Necromancer.
I guess not, right?
We’ve been promised balance fixes and bug fixes since the release and nothing has been done pretty much.
Awesome
Necro fixes are confirmed to arrive the day before ANET shuts down GW2 servers. :P
Heroes system is what pulled me away from GW1… I’d hate to see it make a comeback to GW2.
I would love a feature that heavily reduced spell effects other than yours.
There’s only 2-3 items that I would love to have from those chests… Knowing my luck and RNG-Gods Hatred towards me… Impossible to get my hands on them, so I wouldn’t even bother wasting my time unlocking them 1 by 1.
