Playing windowed full res. I’m continuing to use the 64-bit client as before.

While afking in LA at bank I get a Black screen. I can move cursor around, but no sound, etc. I will have to kill the game. My #1 suspect is the latest 5/17 patch.

Other than that, the game appeared to be OK, but I did get a random CTD after my internet dropped for a couple seconds.

A lot of people made some great points here; I’ll definitely have to take the time to examine KING’s data, @ reikken, Dinosaurs, Illconceived.

I suppose part of it could be my bad luck. I’ve been doing daily T4’s for a while now and I’m just not seeing the ascended chest drop at 20%. I did see a few odd glove or boot chests, but my impression (yeah, I didn’t keep notes) was of a far lower rate. Since they added salvage tools/kits, I’ve already gotten 3 stacks of kits and dozens of tools. A few times I salvaged uninfused rings for a hypothetical loss.

Instabilities definitely got better, though in my case, 99% of the time I’m running fractals on my thief. Thief no likey lethargic ;p

Having trouble completing gear on my necro because I have not seen an asc weapon drop in forever! Last one I saw at Teq in December or so, and I try to do Teq daily as well.

Disclaimer: I might be venting a bit here, and only hope others feel the same way ;p

I complete my daily fractals and, with bated breath, I begin double-clicking each of the 12 saved chests.

Ascended…salvage tool? yay?
Another ascended salvage tool. Ooh, maybe it can stack with the other tool? Nope!
Bolt of Damask. On the surface this looks like a good drop, but if you translate it through the Trollspeak dictionary you end up with “hah! I used to be an ascended chest!”

There aren’t even many ring drops anymore, not that we need them. Clearly there have been secret updates to the fractal drops which I think need some discussion. The number of salvage tool drops feels super trolly after a lot of hard work. Fractal 100 can easily take over half an hour, even if everything is going well.

Ways to fix this:
1. Make these salvage tools sellable back to vendor for no loss (the same 1g return).
1a. Might as well make them stackable. Identical ascended chests should also be stackable, btw, as in two “Malicious Chest of Boots”. Leystone coat boxes are stackable…
2. Drop something actually attractive. Sinister or assassin’s trinkets would be awesome, of course, to have an alternative to grinding LS2 achievements or dungeons.

If anyone else feels the same way or has ideas to improve these drops, feel free to add comments.

I did it today as part of daily. Final boss was really rough for us. Couple revive orbs later…finally got credit this time! =)

hi, I might be interested, but my classes are like this:
1) Thief, main, most comfortable in, fully geared. Killed VG with it; did fractal 100, etc.
2) Necro, has asc viper’s armor. Has asc trinkets; working on optimizing them.
3) Ele, full exotic, 5/6 asc trinkets, otherwise built as zerker
I also have a chrono but ungeared.

We just completed 97 minutes ago. Got the four daily chests.

Did NOT get a checkmark for Fractal Master.
Others in my team did NOT level.

this is a huge bug. That was the last one i needed for Fractal Master completion.

I main a DPS thief, so prefer this. Mostly built a viper horror necro, except for trinkets.

I know VG mechanics, at least from dps team point of view; willing to learn others. I’m 161 mastery and have done a bunch of hard fractals, so I’m highly motivated for raid boss kill!

Yes, sorry, Thaumanova; topic changed. Unfortunately you have to be very lucky to make your way to switch #1 without a shield (there’s almost nowhere to stand with the three lasers there).

We eventually did do it, but after a bunch of needless deaths. A fractal with all those difficult parts, and an unforgiving laser room on top of it all… what I’m asking is very small and reasonable.

I won’t go into how I managed to get chosen to carry bomb in final boss at least five times in a row.

Hi, it’s very difficult with the limited non-respawning shields, because often they are in impossible spots… also the 2(?) seconds it takes to pick up shields makes it ridiculous.

Please make shields insta-pickup and/or respawning at their initial areas every x seconds.

Just wanted to point out that the percentage completed is really quite misleading. I’ve decided to do some cleanup on my computer, uninstalling GW2 and reinstall fresh in new location.

I placed Gw2-64.exe in a brand new folder and began the download process. Early on I noticed “Downloading: 1500MB” was marked as 15%. This is misleading because according to this ratio, 1500 / 0.15 —> 10000MB total, or under 10GB. I remember that the expected should actually be about 25GB.

So, I suspect you’re basing the percentage on number of files remaining instead of download size. Please can you change it to be based on full download size?

Andraus, that silver tag comes up when the squad leader does a “Ready” check.

I thought about tag colors again the other day. I think black, white, green, and maybe even other colors (pink!?) could be quite fun accentuate the fashionable aspects of Guild Wars 2!

A simple icon photoshop and increase in number of tag options could go such a long way!

Hi, just came here to report a bug in the Willing Captives lvl70 mission… got to The Beast and somehow got stuck in a wall in his cave before fighting him. Could still swim around, kill him, and open one of the chests through the wall, but after that , stuck…

bump. This happened again — two people left form a five-person party, and then the rest of us tried to LFG. I couldn’t, another couldn’t, and only after some time the third party member somehow managed to post a LFG.

i’d assume some of the delay in the process is just layers of bureaucracy. A player posts a bug in a thread, comm person asks dev if it is a bug, dev replies to comm if it is, and then comm posts reply on forums.

Nevertheless, I have to agree with Takina — if while asking the dev team if it is a bug, a simple reply to forums like “hey we’re trying to confirm if this is a bug; stay tuned” would’ve gone a long way.

I’ve seen character stuttering only in personal story clips (I believe HoT act 3), but never in real-time. Possible weird card-specific reactions to graphics code?

yep. Sometimes the relist mysteriously succeeds, but not with the new description I wrote. This used to work about a week ago.

Also, after finishing with party, I can’t seem to join another that looks “open”. Upon click, all opens become grayed and nothing else happens.

I have to totally agree with MadRabbit — this “update” is a load of crap:

Daily Achievement Adjustment
Daily PvP Capture and Daily PvP Defender have been removed from the daily rotation.
Daily Top Stats and Daily PvP Matches Played in Unranked or Ranked Arena have been added to the daily rotation.

When I’m good and ready, I’ll do your ranked PvP. But why destroy the awesome custom daily maps community with LOFT, UGF, MAD and others?

I refuse to draw a stupid roman numeral over my head just because some stats guy wanted 4min less waiting time.

Can you please add a checkbox to hide shoes? There are already checkboxes for helmet and gloves, so to finish off the extremities, a checkbox for hiding shoes makes logical sense.

Sometimes I just want to run around barefoot without sacrificing armor.

Found a workaround — completing path #3.

I had a suspicion that you guys flipped #3 and #2 credit. Just completed path #3 and now Sanctuary Savior complete. (I must have not completed the real 3 before?).

So indeed #2 and #3 credit is flipped.

I’m not getting credit for Honor of the Waves dungeon, Plunderer’s path. Or you have the paths messed up.

Today I did this Plunderer’s path twice (second time recently, in last half hour). It looked like a real path 2 — we fought Andal and his 2 champ pets, then later an underwater fight without any jellyfish.

My achievement checkmarks remained as they did before: story, 1, 3. I was expecting Sanctuary Savior to be completed…

In my last attempt, another party member also did not get #2 path checked off, but instead he thinks #3 was checked.

How do I contact support about this?

My party chat disappears as soon as I leave the party. Additionally I made a test with someone yesterday:

1. I invited him to party
2. wrote a bunch of text
3. left party

Expected: party convo remains in buffer
Actual: All I wrote is now gone. If anyone wrote anything at all in party, I don’t see it anymore. No map travel involved.

Saw earlier there was a “build avail in 10min” message. I just finished fractal 2, then got a big message hat I could not connect as I was teleporting to fractal lobby. It then CTD.

At first I thought this was some sort of light DDOS because everyone was grabbing hte new patch. A few times I tried to connect with client , but it repeated that “unable to connect to log-in server”. Then closed client, saw the update happen, but still wont log me in…

If I’ve completed, say, Fractal 50, I think I should be able to open any of 1-50, even if my personal reward level is awful.

[Edit] I changed topic from “Personal Fractal Reward incorrect” to “Personal Fractal Reward shouldnt affect Open” , as I think that’s my real issue.

I see what you’re saying, but now I’m thinking the system is flawed. Firstly, “rewards” shouldn’t affect what you’ve accomplished and whether you can start a new one. Are rewards and accomplishments not two separate metrics?

Let’s imagine the worst case, where someone managed to complete fractals 1-100 in reverse order, with initial Personal Reward (P.R.) level 1:

I’d like to report a bug I’ve only just noticed. I’ve completed almost every fractal 1-50, except for fractal 49.

I cannot open fractal 49 (solo party, just me) because game says my “Personal Fractal Level” is 46. I’ve closed and re-opened the game; same thing.

EDIT: another, probably related! just noticed Achievements tracking bug. Regular PvP things I checked off under “Daily” yesterday are still up today. When I set a new one to Track, the 5 ones I had go away and the new one comes up by itself. When I un-Track it, the old 5 are visible again.

uh, eating 2500 Candy Canes isn’t exactly cheap either… 120g for 1/18th of the Meta? Does everything need to be divided by 100?!
Maybe there’s some boss who has 100 times his expected hp too? Maybe the JP is running 100 times faster?

I think perhaps the decimal point was misplaced a few times. This was my first Halloween event, and now my first Wintersday, and while the h’ween had some labyrinth grinding you didn’t need to be a millionaire to complete all the achieves (Nightfury had a perfectly fine cult following not tied to an achieve).

Please patch to 100 drinks at most! 10,000 (800ish gold) is absolutely insane! It clearly needs to go down by at least a factor of 100.

I’m beginning to think it’s a bug. There should be a simple recipe to convert your existing (and pricy) 5AR /5 something infusions into +7AR / +5 something infusions.

Bruno, worst case they could also make any sort of “swap” of leaving, rejoining, and ranking happen programmatically. I think they probably have easier ways to do it though.

I just think it’d be useful to be able to move guilds up and down (maybe the up-down arrows appear only when mouse hovers over the name, to the right “/g1” ?).

So if you had an empty guild1 slot, moving guild2 up would now make it guild1.

I would def. find this useful to rearrange things; hopefully others think so too.

What?? If my character do fractal, i only put versatile +7 AR on them. If they never go into fractal I use +5 stats from WvW with no AR on them.

If you go for +5 AR and +5 Stats, that’s where it start to be freaking expansive.

My points is that why would you put +5 AR +5toughness on a character is totally useless. I could understand if you put a +5 toughness on a character that doesn’t do fractal.

So you don’t have a “main” that can just do everything? idk… switching to a dedicated fractal character seems strange to me. If you say it’s cheaper, I believe you. But wouldn’t you rather not have to make another armor set, possibly another character to wear it, etc.?

I don’t fractal much, but I do want to get into it. So I’m looking at ascended equipment upgrades from the point of view of “good for PvX and occasional fractal”.

With the new Versatile Simple Infusions (7AR), I noticed that if you want to do high-level fractals, this leaves no room for the other stats, e.g. 5 toughness. I consider taking fourteen +7s into all your ascended equipment an act of trashing your hard work. I’d much rather have something like Resilient Infusions (5AR, 5 toughness), but oh wait…these are only 5 AR. So all that spending of Mystic Coins, Karka Shells, Armored Scales was all for nothing because after all that, you can only do Fractal 50.

Solution: I suggest introducing +7 AR, +5 <something> infusions, which can be easily and cheaply upgraded from the +5 AR, +5 <something> versions. Then people who don’t want to trash their armor with Fractal-only upgrades can feel much better about joining the fractal fun while also using the same set for other PvX activities.

So is personal guild now completely FUBAR? You used to be able to represent in a 100% rep guild and still make a personal guild.

I took a look just now with a new guild… cost of bank was 1000 favor, which would have to be with something like the PvP stronghold mission. But firstly to do said mission would violate the 100% rep. To add insult to injury, it said 3 people required.

so there’s this hurricane, at least on the east coast… no idea why Seattle area would be down :o
