Not to be a party pooper, but its the perplexity runes and not the warrior itself. Many professions could perform the same way, but do it from range, or with faster cool downs, or even just have a mix of ranged and melee. My ranger with selected pets can do the exact same thing, but from range and kite for days. The ranger, particularly with druid line just has so many more interrupts at their disposal.
It’s good to see your enjoying it, but minus the perplex runes and it’s a subpar condition build. Its the runes that make it strong, not the warrior or the build itself.

Yes the runes are the backbone here. Flaming flurry will burn damage at 5k per tick and don’t forget skull grinders natively stacks confusion with bleed. Sword auto can easily stack 4k plus ticks of bleed.As far as the range thing goes fair enough (mes for example). The nature of the build is up-close condi-brawling with a tactile feel double melee brings with kiting always being a natural counter to this playstyle.There’s also the baseline physical weapon damage too.

Fought a warrior with the same weapon setup in PvP yesterday. He was extremely tough, I critted him for 2.5k only with Arc Divider in a burst damage build I ran for testing. Maybe Rabid amulet and Rousing Resilience? How would you run your build in PvP without Perplexity runes?

Yeh will be on tonight i’ll shoot you a PM. Honestly you’d be fine either way with HF or Burst Mastery. I found that being an attrition based build the focus on condi-bursting was better for me (thus the choice of burst mastery and regen). Edit = forgot that i can’t use perplexity runes in PvP, so i can’t duel you there (doh).

Feeling the pinch at the moment or a wee bit inadequate when fighting as you roam in WvW as a vanilla Warrior or as a not quite there Berserker ?

Well here is a dark pill you can swallow and transform yourself into a condi-pumping, flaming confusion machine !

Want to down opponents in 15 seconds or even 2 shot them with skull grinders after you taunt them (courtesy of stacks of confusion, stacks of bleed and blinds) ? NO worries!

You can even break stealth thanks to Bloody Roar and the Taunt it applies, forcing the hidden party to auto attack and revealing themselves when they hit you.

It’s a Condi -Brawler which focuses on bleeds, burning, confusion (perplexity), blinds, taunting and CC with reasonable base-line weapon damage (final thrust still crits for 4-5k) thanks to the use of Sinister Gear. Focus is on Berserker up-time and the use of Primal Burst Skills.

Let’s re-visit the new primal burst skill “Skull Grinder” to see why it works so well with the perplexity rune-set.

Yes that’s right – this burst skill stacks confusion,bleeds and a blind plus daze natively. Plus it doesn’t suck kitten like standard mace skull crack does atm. Normal skull crack has no place in this build.

It’s not unusual to see your oponent with 12+ stacks of confusion on them after landing this skill. It has a 5 second cool-down too. You’ll be wanting to land two of these whilst in beserker up-time.

This build is not all about confusion because we have access to some serious burning here with torch and the new burst skill flaming flurry. Let’s re-visit this skill.

“Flaming Flurry” – “Lash out with a flurry of strikes that destroys projectiles and shoots fireballs at foes in front of you”

Landing one of these will burn your opponent at around 5k+ per tick. The best thing is you can move with this skill unlike standard flurry so get right in your opponent’s face.

Torch is there to apply pressure via cripple,burns and you also can cleanse 2 conditions with flames of war. You’ll want to cripple and burn first with torch skill blaze breaker, get close, flames of war then savage leap with sword straight after so you activate fire field ability and add extra burning damage via fire shield combo finisher.

Keep up pressure with sword auto attack by stacking bleeds. Don’t forget to mix things up and use standard flurry if you’re having issues locking down your foe.

You have plenty of blocks with mace and shield, coax out use of stability by using pommel on mace and interrupt your enemy with shield bash.

Primary weapon set- Sword / Torch. Secondary set-Mace / Shield.

First utility choice is optional. If fighting heavy CC opponents you could take Outrage. Fighting a Dragon Hunter ? – take SoM.

Taunt and interrupt your foe by entering into Beserk mode (will also apply confusion if timed right) TIP- be within 300 range of your opponent (the wiki description is incorrect) when first activating Berserk so they will be affected by the taunt and come at you. Pretty much a guarantee that you’ll be able to land either a skull grinder or flaming flurry unless they stun break. You should be landing these.

The other optional tweak is to take head butt as your elite skill, outrage in first utility and select Eternal Champion as your grandmaster trait.Head butt will replace taunt in helping you set up landing your primal burst skills. You can also run with mace/sword instead of shield.

Warrior and Berserker lack many things, but saying they lack synergy simply isn’t true.

Distracting Blows + Body Blow + Skull Grinder

I should probably still include Bloody Roar even though the synergy isn’t as good as before, it can still interrupt though. If you land all of your CC on Mace and interrupt the synergy possibilities are pretty crazy. Oh, you could even use rifle in a build using this cause that has 2 interrupts as well.

The problem is always that you have to give up either Discipline or Defense to take advantage of this synergy.

Rousing Resilience + Outrage/Head Butt/Savage Instinct

How well these complement each other seems to be flying under the radar. Yes, you might be a bit weaker to condis but the healing is still good. You can potentially use Head Butt to break a stun then break that 1 second stun for another heal. It’s sustain that isn’t totally dependent on double Endure Pain, but you can bring that still as well. If you want even more sustain you could bring Dead or Alive as well.

Burst Mastery + Smash Brawler

Very simple, short burst CD and getting adrenaline back from those bursts letting you spam them even more.

So, while this doesn’t mean our class is in a good spot, saying it has no synergy is insulting because it’s clear that these synergies were intended and if not for other issues some builds would be even more powerful than they are now.

What’s most enjoyable about your post Burr, is the reverse psychology involved here. First complimenting the developers on what synergy is prevalent within the Beserker trait line, whilst highlighting what’s missing and provoking more constructive feedback from others.

I roam on FA WvW and just fought 4 Beserk Elite spec warriors with my GS/Mace Shield build and it was 4/0 in my favour. Not good.

For those with 32 bit clients, increase the size of your page file and make sure it’s on. If your running AMD cards reduce the Flip Queue Size down to 1 using Radeon Pro http://www.radeonpro.info/download/.
If running Nvidia cards, use Nvidia Inspector to reduce the Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames size to 1.

Thanks for getting back to us.

What you are experiencing is a number of “out of memory” errors. While we do have some suggestions for helping players work around this issue, ultimately we need you to understand that this is a limitation of 32-bit Operating Systems and not actually of Guild Wars 2 itself.
The main issue here is simply memory limitations inherent in 32-bit Operating Systems, which you can actually see below in your Game Advisor report:

— Memory: 4096 MB RAM
— Available OS Memory: 3328 MB RAM

According to our report, you have upwards of 6GB of RAM but due to how 32-bit operating system work, you can only use 4GB total. The problem arises through the additional video memory on your graphics card:

— Display Memory: 2423 MB
— Dedicated Memory: 1015 MB
-- Shared Memory: 1408 MB

This is where it gets a little complicated, but the short version is that the additional memory can push your total available memory into negative numbers resulting in crashes or simply, "out of memory” errors. Some players have resolved this by upgrading to a 64-bit operating system. Others simply have removed physical RAM from the system to bring the memory totals closer to values intended for that revision of Windows (32-bit). Obviously removing RAM from your PC is not an ideal solution but I wanted to give you all the information we have learned regarding these issues. You can read more about this issue from Microsoft here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929605. The important part is quoted below:

“For example, if you have a video card that has 256 MB of onboard memory, that memory must be mapped within the first 4 GB of address space. If 4 GB of system memory is already installed, part of that address space must be reserved by the graphics memory mapping. Graphics memory mapping overwrites a part of the system memory. These conditions reduce the total amount of system memory that is available to the operating system.”

One solution presented by players is to set the Flip-Queue to 0 or 1 on an AMD Graphics card. This setting is not available in the Catalyst Control Panel and can only be adjusted using third-party software. Please note: these programs are not endorsed or supported by NCSOFT or ArenaNet.

Hi Jacob,

I’m sorry that you feel this way, we do have some “premade” troubleshooting steps, and we use them when we are absolutely sure of what the issue is. In this case you are using a 32 bit system, which has a cap of 4 gigabytes of RAM. You didn’t experience these before probably because you system wasn’t using all of the resources it had available.

My recommendation would be to get a 64 bit version of you operative system, but lowering the graphics setting to a lower level could work in the meantime.

Again, I’m sorry that this has left a bad impression of us, please don’t hesitate to get back to us if you ever need assistance with anything else.

I know right? Thieves are annoying, but at least they take skill! Because of their naturally low HP/def they CANNOT make mistakes! They HAVE to get up close. They have to know when to stealth. I played thief back at release, my first character, and I quit because I just wasn’t good at it.

What it is, is that these cry baby warriors have played face roll easy mode for so long, that now that they actually have to think, it feels like warrior is in a bad spot. It’s really not. They just want to be able to win with little to no effort. Seriously, they could give warrior the ability to deal 300k, mobile 100 blades damage from stealth without revealed, with full immunity to damage and control effects, and they’d still find something to whine about.

Has anyone ever wondered what it would be like to play the equivalent of dark souls in guild wars 2? Well, I have found something far, FAR harder than that! Playing Warrior in high tier PVP; is essentially the equivalent of beating Dark Souls in it’s hardest mode with a guitar hero guitar instead of a controller! I mean doesn’t everyone just LOVE the narcissistic pain of playing that game, it’s just sooooo nice that you can FINALLY experience that right here in guild wars 2 with warrior. To go hours each night with a win ratio being somewhere around 1 in every 5 just gives me that same high as being defeated over and over by Old Iron King (one of the hardest DS bosses). Just love the direction they went with warrior!

The moment i logged in i was greeted by supernova explosion of skill flashes (logged out in World Boss place). She was so impressed she had a seisure cause she had epilepsy – a condition i was not aware before that. So after getting her to hospital i had a few thoughts:
1. Why is there NO EPILEPSY WARNING? The game is so flashy it HAS to have it in big bold letters at the start screen.
2. I checked options panel and did not find a suitable tool to tone down the brightness of skills only. Can we have that option?

970 in sli here. Grab yourself a g-sync monitor and you’ll never look back. It’s quite literally a game changer for gw2.
The game is starved for dx calls due to being so dependant on the main thread and their engine is not optimised for multiple threads so much.

At the end of the day, Anet does have the final say over what names fly and thoes that don’t. Using a name that’s against the terms of service will get said name removed. Jihad is a loaded word with strong obvious ties to extremist ideologies. Posturing and expressing your annoyance in this way won’t get said name restored. End of story sorry. The likelihood that someone is going to spend real world money to buy gold to harass another account is vanishingly small. The one thread I’ve seen claiming this is a thread where an ANet staffer came on to say that that account had an extensive history of gold buying, which is way more than the 2 the guy was talking about.

The guy had an EXTENSIVE history of gold buying. The gold was from yet another gold seller. They undoubtably already had his account flagged from before the policy change to remove gold. Why should they wait? Would waiting have changed the end result, a guy who bought gold getting gold removed from his account? No. It wouldn’t.

The guy was lying. There is no problem with people paying real cash to have money sent fraudulently to other accounts. Unless this becomes an actual problem then ANet is better off fixing real problems than spending Dev time and money to fix something that isn’t happening.

That’s just it, only 1 person has come to the forums “complaining” about it, and Anet clearly stated they would remove gold from anyone who purchases from gold sellers. The person who did post seems to have a past of buying gold, which was clearly against the rules, and now they are taking action. If this was happening a lot, where people were actually getting spammed with gold from gold sellers that they didn’t buy, then maybe it could be a problem. But it hasn’t happened yet. End of story. If that person who posted really had only received 2 mails, like they claimed, in their entire GW2 playtime, then I’m pretty sure Chris would have worked with them to figure out the issue.

You can’t trust anything an account holder says, there has been so many times they “claim” something, and an Anet employee has shown the user was lying.

I wasn’t even aware of this persons post prior to creating this thread. Again, unless you were extrapolating data from the cs team and discussing it with Michael, you couldn’t definitively say “end of story”.

If it really was an issue, there would be more posts on the forums. So since you aren’t basing this on facts, or even posts, it really is paranoia and it’s not an issue. Thus, yes, it’s still end of story. If there was a lot of people getting harassed all of a sudden, then it would show up on reddit, or the forums, or somewhere. But it hasn’t. So yes, It’s End of Story. You are worried and want Anet to fix something that isn’t an issue. They need to focus on things that are issues.

The guy was lying. There is no problem with people paying real cash to have money sent fraudulently to other accounts. Unless this becomes an actual problem then ANet is better off fixing real problems than spending Dev time and money to fix something that isn’t happening.

That’s just it, only 1 person has come to the forums “complaining” about it, and Anet clearly stated they would remove gold from anyone who purchases from gold sellers. The person who did post seems to have a past of buying gold, which was clearly against the rules, and now they are taking action. If this was happening a lot, where people were actually getting spammed with gold from gold sellers that they didn’t buy, then maybe it could be a problem. But it hasn’t happened yet. End of story. If that person who posted really had only received 2 mails, like they claimed, in their entire GW2 playtime, then I’m pretty sure Chris would have worked with them to figure out the issue.

You can’t trust anything an account holder says, there has been so many times they “claim” something, and an Anet employee has shown the user was lying.

I wasn’t even aware of this persons post prior to creating this thread. Again, unless you were extrapolating data from the cs team and discussing it with Michael, you couldn’t definitively say “end of story”.

If it really was an issue, there would be more posts on the forums. So since you aren’t basing this on facts, or even posts, it really is paranoia and it’s not an issue. Thus, yes, it’s still end of story. If there was a lot of people getting harassed all of a sudden, then it would show up on reddit, or the forums, or somewhere. But it hasn’t. So yes, It’s End of Story. You are worried and want Anet to fix something that isn’t an issue. They need to focus on things that are issues.

The likelihood that someone is going to spend real world money to buy gold to harass another account is vanishingly small. The one thread I’ve seen claiming this is a thread where an ANet staffer came on to say that that account had an extensive history of gold buying, which is way more than the 2 the guy was talking about.

Synonyms for extensive: large, large-scale, sizable, substantial, considerable, ample, expansive, great, vast

Basing your request on the words of someone who was shown to be lying is to make a request to fix a problem that no one has shown to be happening. In other words, it’s a solution looking for a problem.

Just like it is highly unlikely someone will got thru the trouble of finding your actual address and then calling SWAT on you.

Referring to a previous post of yours “The point is the 300 gold was removed from his account even tho he hadn’t excepted the gold from the mail yet.”

The guy had an EXTENSIVE history of gold buying. The gold was from yet another gold seller. They undoubtably already had his account flagged from before the policy change to remove gold. Why should they wait? Would waiting have changed the end result, a guy who bought gold getting gold removed from his account? No. It wouldn’t.
