From a human resource perspective, having the tools in place as a preventative measure vs – trying to ascertain the particulars of rmt transactions would be the smarter way to go (?). I mean, if they had some straight forward in-game mail filtering options, it could reduce incidences of trolling via mail, be an indication of acceptance of a rmt transaction (i.e -the account holder knowingly added the sender as a friend and thereby was complicit in the transaction). The only circumvent with the last example was if say the account was compromised and the support team could verify the difference in IP logs.

What then need to look at is if you actually take the gold from the mail. The mail has a return to sender button. As long as you don’t except the gold you should not get punished.

Hello Michael and fellow players. This is a ‘suggestion’ post.

In light of the excellent RMT policy that your team is now implementing with regards to gold/item transactions on accounts, id like to bring to your attention the repercussions for account holders who are now the targets of social hate/RMT set-ups.

By this i refer to situations where a player is intentionally victimized by another player, for what ever reason, and has a number of RMT/gold purchases sent to their account by the perpetrator with the sole vindictive purpose of getting the other player’s account banned.

The player perpetrating this act, simply has to make a number of RMT purchases on one of the many websites that provide these services, and have the items sent to the recipient’s account by providing their target’s account display name to the seller/deliverer of these items. This means the perpetrator of this act can remain anonymous in this process.

What Anet are faced with here is the strong possibility of banning people who were not complicit with RMT purchases, and are simply the victim of this new form of in-game bullying.

My suggestion is simple:-

Create the ability for players to block (by default), receiving any mail containing said items from people not on their friends list. This means that they will only receive items from Anet/gem purchases on the TP.

I know this concept might be uncomfortable for some however, this reality of this situation needs to be considered moving forward.

None of us want to be the victims of an in-game ‘hate-crime’, for lack of a better definition.

We all have our preferences when it comes to visuals in this game, and regarding legendaries I feel they should reflect their status – who wouldnt get Eternity if it wasnt for its great looking skin and that glow.
Looking at this backitem, I feel thats not something I would throw on my character. Dont find it pretty, its strange looking, nothing with resemblance other than fractals? But even then, would you really want to equip something that wouldnt fit the rest of the theme of your character? I’d take Rox Quiver over this on my thief and ranger any day. Not to mention the tons of resources and effort just to get a legendary item.

If Anet wants to keep it Fractal themed, perhaps make that thing smaller, make the backitem all about a belt, or a banner or a cape with some fancy effects like that in the pic, something that would fit all themes/races/classes – or something with resemblance instead of creating something new and strange. I cant put my word on it, it just doesnt taste right.

Just my two cents, and of course other people will disagree!

Its true the performance increase between the i5 and i7 is approx 10-11% in PVE. Surprisingly its even less less in large zergs. Have a look through my forum posts and you’ll see a benchmark comparison between the two for gw2.

It really depends where I am, hanging out in LA I get in the 40s, out running around I’m hitting 50-60, this is also with vsync on, so I’m capped at 60. This is also at max settings, but I am only using a gtx970, with 2 x gtx980s you should have no problem at all. I am also running a 3930k at 4.5GHz though, and this game is very cpu heavy. But you should really have no problem.

Hiyas! I have noticed recently that the game will sometimes randomly “stutter” like it is losing a frame or two. It happens when I am roaming alone or in zergs. I am not sure if it is my isp but i have very good latency and 100mbps connection. I am currently using the latest Nvidia drivers and this seems to be a new problem. Anyone else having this issue? I am not sure why it is doing this, the game has been running great until recently.

I’ve always had this issue with the game. I’ve had 3 different builds all high-end with both AMD and Nvidia cards and top intel cpu’s. It’s just the game engine and how dependent the game is on the main cpu thread.

Try rolling back to an older driver version and see if this helps you

I’ve just installed SweetFX and grabbed a nice profile. Wow, what a difference it is to that blurry FXAA available in the game’s options. Makes me sad that I didn’t hear about this ages ago. Also makes me sad that ANet didn’t think it wise to include a decent form of AA fin the game from the start.

Please don’t say ue the in game FXAA option, as that looks like someone has smeared Vaseline all over the screen.

Guild Wars uses deferred rendering which is only compatible with the FXAA AA method. You used to be able to force SSAA via nvidia inspector with certain compatibility flags selected however this is no longer possible.

Even setting the rendering to ‘forward’ won’t fix the problem.
Use sweetfx to apply SMAA. Game looks great with it.

I think you’ll find the 4790 around 11-15% faster frame-rare vs the current i5 in PVE.

It would be marginally better than the i5 in WvW.

You could save yourself some money by getting the Intel Xeon E3 1231 V3 instead ( this also has 4 cores plus HT = 8 threads ) and is around $70-$80 cheaper. It has a boost speed of 3.8 GHz.

if its solo, or small group- sword/sword LB is great for a condition or hybrid build. gear just depends on how tanky/hybrid you want to be. maces, shield, and hammer could be cool if you decide to go into the strength line. you can go into tactics for the longbow burning and shoutheals while running apothecary gear. there are a huge amount of options here.

the last time i played condi warr in wvw i ran s/s lb, full dire gear and krait runes. it’s very tanky, but just does condi. for hybrid sinister or rampagers gear with carrion or celestial accessories could be nice. i very much enjoy rampagers + celestial on my engineer.

Since I have rejoined (2 months ago), I have experienced major latency issues with my ping never getting lower than 250 (usually in the average 800 range). I’m from Brisbane and have been playing the game for 2+ years. The best solution is to use either Battleping or WTFast tunneling service. I’ve used both for 12+ months and found WTFast the best. Ping around 200-220 at most and no latency issues Great for PvP or WvW

Coming back to the game and dusting off my L60 warrior, I want to level him up to 80 and play around with the new talent and skill system. The only thing I know for sure is that I really enjoy S/S gameplay (world PVE rampaging basically) and want that to be the focus for this character.

My question is, what would be the best distribution of gear for this playstyle? I was thinking a full Rampager set would work well but with the new changes, would going for more condition damage be advisable? Rampager/Rabid/Carrion mix of some kind?

The 980 is a maxwell based gpu and is Nvidias most efficient gpu yet, and thus uses a lot less power draw than previous generations a 660 ti is rated at 150w, while the 980 only uses 30 watts more.However on load the maxwells are more efficient and especially lower than previous keplars off load.
@ Op The problem you are having is due to an unstable factory overclock on evga’s behalf,you can try downclocking to see if this alleviates your problem.
Your power supply and motherboard arre fine ignore that nub lol.
Go take a look in Evgas forums and you will see that you are not alone.If you have no coil whine just underclock your card.I have that exact card and am going to either send it back and buy an asus or step up to a Ti.

In my experience: warrior are good. They do not need any increase of damage or other increase. So is warrior balance? no. Why? Their mobility do not belong in their profession. Again: heavy set profession= medium-slow mobility, :not play a light=high mobility role.

Warrior have not died because they probably running away from risk as usual? humor lol. I am serious, warrior is a good class: only few adjustment will make it close to balance.

I find your comparisons of Warrior mobility to elephants or a cheetah lacking in any sound logic ( in this context ). We are of course discussing a fantasy game where the designers do their best to provide balancing elements to each profession based on their available play styles and abilities.

Since the premise of your argument seems to be based on some chivalrous ideology and real-life physics ( the weight of heavy armor for example ) there is no real relevance to Warriors in this fantasy setting.

A Warrior without mobility ( and stability ) is a walking hunk of chivalrous metal. This ideal might serve to satisfy your point of view however, it doesn’t serve the workings of a melee class that can be either hard/soft CC’ed and kited in combat.

This whole longbow situation reminds me of skullcrack/gs 100b warrior prior to the nerf, except with longbow zerk ranger you can do the same sort of damage from 1500 range…

I feel a ranger nerf coming on ……Since the devs cater to all the “herd”……

I agree with the OP. Look, every class has it’s “cheesey build” however, zerk longbow ranger builds are really easy to abuse ( in WvW ). Silly zebra and hunting stories aside…

Find a group of bad players so you can 1 vs 5.

Any montage on youtube iv’e ever watched where it’s more than 1 vs 2 are just average players.

Your expectations are just off the mark thinking you can take on more than 1 person. Don’t worry, we all think that way at some stage.

There are plenty of threads about roaming builds. Just take your time to read through the forum

Simple. Allow racial transmutation skins. This would allow personal story and rewards to remain untouched.

Problem solved.

It’s all about the skin really.

Anet, you can do this with minimal fuss and make a truckload of money in the process.
