The problem is I don’t think anyone is aware or even thinks it needs “fixing” and as an artistic person that aesthetic inconsistency really bothers me
So it’s been awhile since legendary effect update. You guys disappointed a lot of us by making meteor purple even only at night and we have to live with it but there’s this thing that makes the weapon look like a WIP or like you had to release a change fast without previewing it. The handle of the weapon still glows blue at night and it gives an unpolished feel to it. I’m aware probably noone will see this topic but as people say “hope dies last” I wonder if there’s any chance to fix the handle and make it purple at night as well to be consistent with the night theme. Picture example attached.
I want to use this thread to thank Anet for giving me build variety by making me remove from fire and invest 10 useless points in water to get the traits I can’t live without…I play staff/s+d and now I really don’t know what to do with the 10 points in fire cause they’re useless.
Oh..time to stop playing fotm again. Tired of rng>all. Well update me when this thing is implemented and doesn’t have the drop rate of Final Rest pre patched.

They never stated a fractal level that it would happen on
common sense and logic say “hi”. Since the cap of fotm is announced to be 50 40+ fotm is definetely “higher level fotm”.

Unfortunately the change doesn’t apply to items that have already been acquired. Ultimately that’s what I wanted but there was a pretty severe technical limitation on this, so we thought it would be better to make the newly items work this way rather than postpone the conversion any longer.
Also, at higher Fractal levels the weapon skins become more common, and also start dropping in a container that lets you pick the one you want.
Any chance you can make a mf recipe that uses old skins to get a container ? Just a suggestion I was told to post on here.
‘lingering elements’ ‘elemental attunement’ ‘minor Master – fire, air, and earth’
One of these should be an intrinsic elementalist mechanic, ArenaNet
lingering element’s makes the most sense, and elemental attunement should remain an adept trait
Or make lingering a class mechanic and put elemental attunement in it’s place.
It’s still a nerf for those who won’t be choosing larger AoE but at least 5 points less than the trait going master.
P.S To balance with the vigor on crit trait like others have suggested it can be moved to Air master lets say. To ensure spreading the trait points.

I think elemental attunement shouldn’t be a trait at all but a profession mechanic similar to the guardian’s aegis. Ele is like the crippled version of a guardian anyway.
1. Heal and blast finisher from Evasive Arcana
2. Elemental Attunement – something I can’t imagine this class without
3. Larger staff AoE – IF I’m using a staff.
Currently I use 20/0/0/20/30 using both traits that will get nerfed in water (cleansing and water skills recharge)
When I’m out of combat I can switch between a staff and S/D for some might stacking. The update will ruin the freedom of my trait build and I will be forced to give up either 20% fire or 20% water recharge and I will probably sacrifice fire and go 30/30 arcane/water cause survivability is much more important for me. I’ll enjoy my build for the little time it has left to last…
I think nerfing both water traits AND the stamina is bad but at least I can use stamina food and stamina sigil whilst nothing can compensate the faster recharge on skills with massive c/d.

I especially like how they moved down Illusionist’s Celerity a tier.
I was so shocked that Anet did this nerf to their loving pet mesmer and now they partially reverse it. Meanwhile ele keeps eating dust while getting it’s face rubbed in the ground with every patch.
Don’t play an ele. The class is getting destroyed more and more with every patch. I main ele since release and I actually wanna cry after I read the Dec 10 nerfs. Go play a guardian or mesmer.
So you want to take away some of the need for eles to go into arcane and you actually do exactly the opposite by moving multiple mandatory traits up in tier you force people to invest even more and even more trait points in water and arcane. Also people who go high in arcane go for “evasive arcane” NOT for the attunement cooldown.
You basically doom us to set ourself in stone with 30 water 30 arcane and 10 whatever, the attunement recharge won’t matter and diamond skin genuinely made me laugh. I wish good luck to everyone who decides to test spending 30 trait points and trying to stay over 90% health in PvP often enough for it to be a trait that justifies the investment and sacrifice of everything else.
I am not even joking when I say this I really don’t know how you guys play ele if you play it at all.

This is what makes me sad about one of the new hairs and I don’t think there’s even a way to avoid it Apart from not using a shield.
It’s been a year since I beat the personal story ofc under the Priory order since I love ancient artifacts and magic and it was the one true option for me. There were lots of exciting things in GW1 that felt mysterious and magical – gods,seers,mursaat, titans ect. I do love that we get regular content and I play trough it and enjoy it to some extend but I kinda miss the fantasy feeling. I feel detached with so much rifles, guns and bombs. I was excited about Evon and the Abaddon fractal I literally almost cried when he lost to the Reactor cause well…a reactor is just another technology. It doesn’t matter if they coat it with some magical topping it’s still gonna be guns,rifles and bombs. Orr wasn’t very exciting for me from the very beginning cause it’s basically zombies everywhere but at least it’s not aetherblades. Even the human gods are gone the only magical thing is the dragons and there’s no new content about them apart from Teq getting buffed. We get special events like halloween and christmas, SaB was good but not really related to the main story and Southsun is just a pretty map with crabs that look like a copy of a BAM from TERA (even the same mechanics).
In short Tyria was a more magical place and now it reminds me more of the real world with technology coming first.

I like the new hairs I’ll be using some of them but I am not sure if I’m gonna use the new sylvari ones (wanna check them with the kit first) but also because I already have a favorite that’s not among them. Feel pretty pumped up about it so I’m cheeky enough to make a topic and show it xD

I’ll have to agree with this. I don’t think I’ve seen a game remove content before.
When they said they’re gonna add a new path I was like cool dungeons are starting to expand.
Maybe they’ll keep on adding paths to other dungeons as well and they’re gonna accumulate into a cool variety.
Imagine having 10 paths of a dungeon. You can still add a path with the living world but why scrap the existing ones. This way it’s not adding anything it’s just replacing.
And just why should we get a free hair style change?

Also you don’t need a total makeover kit to change a hair. There’s hair kit for a reason and it’s 100 gems less.
God people will find something to complain for in everything.
The thing that put me off the most is the purple glow at night. I wish it was dark blue.. idk but definetely not purple…
As for the trail – simple solution is to use it on the day version and keep the stars on the night one.
Tbh I’m not really hopeful we’ll see any more changes…it’s a punishment for not picking a mainstream weapon like Twilight…

If it was dark blue that actually looks like night and a moon I doubt there would’ve been so much whining. :| Also the trail was cool even though I didn’t like the half that was purple the effect itself was cool.
Is to redesign it from appearing on the whole back to something smaller on the waste opening room for the back items.
To make the kits more visible to enemies you can put a glowing symbol on them.

Non purple night Meteorlogicus. Very basic photoshop edit but I just want to give you an idea of a dark blue or even yellow look. Added some basic footsteps too.
The beauty of Meteorlogicus was that it was aesthetically pleasing more “serious” weapon like Flameseeker. Now it’s more on the goofy weapon side… like Quip but it’s not a goofy desing :s
And the thing that bothers me the most is on that picture.
I hate the purple but come on. If you gonna do something at least do it completely. It’s like I gave a kid to color an outline…no consistency, no sense of color matching.
Not everyone enjoys having a rainbow vomit on their weapon. There’s Bifrost for that.
Footsteps don’t look as bad as they were on the stream since they added clouds so I guess I had worse expectations and it didn’t bother me as much when I saw it but the purple…..WHY :,(
Tell that to all the people who dedicated themselves to craft it and now don’t like it.
It’s purple at night(( and it’s funny cause the main glow on top is purple but the planet on the bottom of the scepter still glows blue…kitten or forgotten?
I’ve expressed my opinion in older threads but after seeing the stream I can sum up again:
-I don’t like purple being added
-I don’t like trail removal and aura not active while stowed
-I don’t like the footsteps AT ALL. They look cheap and awful and they don’t match the weapon. It just looks off.
-I like the stars effect, it really adds up.
So that’s a 3 negative and 1 positive from me.

Did you guys see the footsteps on the stream? And I thought the night version was bad :|| Those lightnings look so out of place.
Assuming you didn’t see the post right above yours I have doubts who’s blind but hey as long as the topic gets bumped.

I really, really hope the screenshot we saw is just a lighting effect from the zone. Changing meteorlogicus to have a purple glow would be dangerously close to killing this game for me. I just finished crafting it, and its going to be ruined already?
Anet has said they are “upgrading” visuals on several legendaries. Changing the glow from light blue to purple is not an upgrade, its a disaster for those of us who carefully plan the looks of their characters and decided to make this scepter as it is right now. I do not mind if you upgrade my weapons, like adding the stars effect. But changing the lighting effect – that drastically – will simply ruin this legendary for many of us. For the love of God, the current glow is awesome, DONT MAKE IT PURPLE! If I wanted a purple weapon, I would have crafted Bolt
Besides the general look and awesome level of details, there are two things that made me fall in love with Meteorlogicus: the lack of footsteps (the very delicate trail it leaves is perfect as it is) and the light blue glow, which goes extremely well with my legendary shield. Add to this that both legendaries have golden elements, and they look awesome together. Please don’t ruin it

You look great. My sincere condolences. But it’s ok next thing you know it they’ll add purple to flameseeker and you’ll be good to go! In fact why not make all legendaries purple cause WHY NOT?!
And as far as the screeshots showing light blue+purple trail. How does that even go together. It looks like kitten. Make it white or dark blue or EVEN yellow but purple??!! How about you find that weapon designer another thing to do before they ruin more things with their purple fetish.

Anet stop slapping “mesmer” and cheap looking lightning effect on everything!
I was going to make it cause it looks heavenly. I was holding off crafting it and if this change is what we assume it would be I will sell my prec and whatever else I can because it’s disappointing and I feel for everyone who already has the weapon!
When people wanted improvement surely they ment footsteps or character aura or both not something as drastic and unappealing like that.

Two people made mention of this in separate posts, but focus could use more combo fields, preferably a water field and a smoke field.
The reason I didn’t suggest a water field on focus is cause scepter has 2 blast finishers coupled with utility blast finishers (and other stuff like evasive arcane and traited attunement switching, boon runes ect.) the healing will be too OP.
I’m assuming for the same reason offhand dagger has a hard heal instead of a field.
Gale is more like a fire grab variation than updraft. I can only guess focus was a prototype weapon noone went back to fix after dagger was made.
Yes swirling winds is situational and on a long cd as well so really can’t compare it with the support of cleansing wave which not only heals but removes conditions as well. I am not comparing skills based on their attunement though, I compare them as a full set. Sure it has room for tweaks of dmg or cd or both but from my personal experience in what way I feel crippled while playing with focus I think it lacks a heal and a mobility skill for chasing down or running away from targets like rtl and burning speed (considering if you play d/d you get both of them) and I base my suggestions on that. The rest you can work with.
To me this weapon feels like something people won’t even notice if it gets deleted. :/
So I constantly remind myself it exists and think of how it can be better.
I would replace freezing gust with some kind of aoe heal for party support (not a field though maybe something like the traited heal on attuning to water) and replace fire shield with a leap finisher for rtl/burning speed like mobility which you can combo with flame wall if you want the fire shield.
This way you would get what it’s lacking – some party support and some mobility to compete with offhand dagger. Interrupt wise it’s ok. It has daze in water line and knockback in air.
The other thing that haunts me is water autoattack and shatterstone on scepter but that’s a different topic.

I think it would be really nice if we get our own small house in the personal instance that we can customize.
Items like furniture and decorations may be world/instance specific drops or purchased from merchants requiring either gold or something else. There may be item rewards tied with achievements as well, lets say Master of Arah will reward you with a Lupi statue you can put on your desk. Kind of like GW1 HoM where you could put a statue when you’ve beaten UW,FoW, DoA ect.
I imagine RPers will be happy to get housing and invite friends to RP with there too.
There’s also the option to put expensive/limited furniture in the cash shop with gem purchases as well.

I don’t understand why gw2 became so reliable on conditions. In gw1 the only heavy conditions build as far as I remember was that fotm team build with necro bombers and spirit spamming ritualists. We didn’t have a stack of 25 blinds or bleeds but 1 and everyone had a fast condition removal it was often about applying the condition in the right time not about spamming and stacking them and relying on them for dmg.
Same with bunkers it’s the meta for gw2 cause dmg is just too high and pvp is about holding points and you’re forced to run it. Closest thing I remember from gw1 is the fotm HA zerkway with paragons and warriors. And those fotm builds were always nerfed. Dunno it’s like the game did a 180° turn.

Lol i feel sad for my ele. Not only we’re the squishiest and we’re forced to run bunker builds with a kittenton of toughness and vit and healing power in PvP to not be roflstomped in 5 seconds but over 90% of our skills are AoE which are so flashy only a kitten would stay in them and get hit, our single targets suck and for some reason we get nerfed again and again.
Other professions do easier what we do with too much effort to bother and yet there are still people who cry eles are op. I guess ele’s gonna be an exclusive profession for a selected few pro masochists who play ele well but obviously would play other classes 2 or 3 times better.
I’ve had the problem forever. It’s constant and annoying and it’s everywhere. Something so basic should be fixed asap.
I completely agree with this. Half the time I move the camera I end up losing my target, especially annoying in dungeons/wvw.
How about in sPvP fighting mesmers. You find the real one and then rotating the camera screws you up by selecting an ally or an illusion somewhere on the screen.
Another really annoying thing that’s related to camera rotation is sometimes when i pick something up (using F) my camera automatically spins 180°.
I don’t even know how to reproduce it cause i don’t know what triggers it.
