Broken Dynamic Events

Let me ask this I am in the 25-35 zone after queensdale and there are not that many events going on. Is there just not that many at later levels or is it just some of them are bugged so they stop running? Just curious some places seem like they have hardly any while in some places like the centaur attacking the bridge there are like 3 that run non stop so I always have to go there to get my daily 5 events.
I think its pretty obvious from anet that they are listening and trying their hardest to fix stuff that is wrong so I dont really worry about that.

How long should a developer be given to get launch bugs ironed out?

Im guessing your not a programmer and if you are you dont program MMO games. I dont think you really understand how complicated bugs can be to fix in a game of this size.

Yeah good to know your trying even if its kind of a never ending battle. Its a battle that needs to be fought.

I think if a person is reported more then once by a few different people it should just auto ban them until its investigated. I really dont see a lot of actual players getting falsely reported for being a bot its pretty easy to tell if you watch them long enough.
You have to keep in mind though people go afk I know I do so I might sit at an event and not reply to messages.

Game losing its appeal?

Here is a basic fact with all forms of entertainment. Everything comes to an end and nothing lasts forever. Eventually any game gets boring it depends on the person on how long that takes. There are things to do at 80 like world verse world but yes most of the fun was getting to that point and the game being new does not have tons of end game content. So I mean not much else to say with these kinds of posts. Go play something else I guess if your bored until more stuff gets added?

Is this change to the trading post going to reduce the delay or lag you get when you go into it? Maybe its me but it seems slow and laggy whenever I used it.
Yeah maybe a server status/maintenance sub forum for news about say the trading post being down

Yeah there is a good reason a lot of people support valve even if they make an occasional bad decision but not say EA.

New players avoid Elementalist.

Guys your just doing it wrong I am a pro at this and I study all the pro vods. I make my own min/max builds speccing earth and I tell you elementalist is strongest class in the game bar none. I am snapping necks and cashing checks not sure what you guys are doing. My DPS is probably more then all the other classes combined in pvp and wvw so I think your all just bad players so l2p.

Why I find the game uninteresting - From a longtime Guild Wars 1 player

I can understand his points its kind of like regenerating health in every FPS game now just because 10 years ago one game did it successfully. This game removed or at least disguised quests but some people might miss the old ways. I got bored of guild wars 1 pretty fast but I feel this game is a lot more interesting and is more fun to play.
From what I remember in GW 1 the skills were intimidating and complicated as an elementalist. There were a lot more choices but it made it a lot more confusing so they probably did try to simplify which I can understand how that gets some people made. Look at what it did to D3.
This game has a lot of room for improvement though and overall I think it is still a top game in this genre especially for having no fees.

Finding a few random things that salvage into jute scrap are very few and far between. Throw in the anti farming code and finding them is not worth the effort compared to say the easier crafts where you gather the stuff you need reliably.

Jute/Leather deficit.. anything being done?

in Crafting

juiceman.2870

Jute is too expensive on the AH because again everyone else needs it bad too and it cant really be farmed so how else do you get it? It would cost about 1 gold to get enough assuming you optimally use each one.

I was thinking same thing and in tailoring am in the same position. I just gave up on tailoring and I sell the jute scraps because they make more money then wasting them on crafting junk

Giving DE bosses a bajillon HP doesn't make them difficult.

I think they are aware of it cut them some slack the game just came out. They could add some new rare events and just making the events harder would require more of the players than just sitting there auto attacking. The events not scaling in difficulty is the real problem that lets everyone just sit there and blow the enemies away.

What to do about farming bots and goldsellers?

Bots and spammers can be stopped because players will always be able to spot the patterns that bots always have and follow no matter how many waypoints or the variety they throw in if you follow a bot you can tell its not a person. Not to mention most bots are not good enough to fool people. Just keep reporting if they keep banning the bot guys have to keep buying more copies of the game.

Ementalist : A really good Class

in Elementalist

I would be curious to see real comparisons between good elementalist damage verses say a warrior or theif equivalent. You would think the elementalist should deal more DPS since they wear cloth compared to heavy armor although Im not sure how much heavy armor helps warriors take hits.
If its not more DPS for elementalist then they would have more CC or escapes or snares or something you would think

Why is travel more expensive than the best reward from DEs?

in Dynamic Events

Posted by: juiceman.2870

juiceman.2870

I think waypoint costs could be more based on zones like if your in 80 zones make them 2s but in lower ones keep the costs low levels pay. With no mounts you have to fast travel to make the game practical and 2s for a waypoint is a lot of money

I fear guild wars two will wane unless they bring out new stuff soon

Im sure they are looking at the end game and adding new stuff. The game has not been out that long I have 1 guy at level 36. New content never keeps pace with hardcore people that max it out fast.
Realistically without any sub fee they could just leave it like this and there will always be new influx of players and pvp will always be there to keep it going. Im sure they will Im just saying for free you just be thankful they add anything.

player inspect option

juiceman.2870

Im not very perceptive in games a lot of times so maybe this is possible already, but how about a way to just inspect a person’s gear? Its fun sometimes to check what other players have equipped or their stats like higher level guys. I know a few other games have this not a big deal really but would be handy.

Player to Player trading

I dont see the harm in having a trade window for people to give things to other players. There is no cure for stupid. No number of precautions and safety checks can stop all bad from happening. A trade window lets the minority give items to friends in a lot faster and more convenient way. It would never stop or interfere with the AH in any large meaningful way. I mean WOW is proof of that many years of that and people all generally still use the AH its just another option for people you know.

Underwater fighting, Not a fan....

Yeah I agree. I think most players feel that way, but its not a huge deal. Its probably more for a change of pace kind of thing to mix things up and once in a while its fun to go underwater.

Absurd imbalance, Elementalist is weak

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

juiceman.2870

Any class that wears cloth verses say a warrior needs some big type of buff or advantages to make up for that. Whether they have more escapes, better kiting abilities, or more DPS. They do need to have something and other classes all AOE so I dont think thats it.
I play elementalist also and maybe we are UP but its still kind of early no one really has 2 level 80 characters yet to compare against so maybe a little more time before buff/nerf things.

I'm sorry, class balance isn't there.

Its not perfect but its pretty good for the game just coming out its still early days. Much like starcraft 2 you let the meta game develop you dont just start making a bunch of changes right away unless something is broken

Yes the game just came out and the reviews are in the game is high 90 scores acrossed the board with tons of copies sold its a success. If a few people dont like it then well go play something else this game has a good base of players already.

Make this game free 2 play

Bad idea. They need the money to keep servers running not to mention they spent 5 years making this they deserve that money for keeping the game free of monthly fee we are lucky.
Also you need a fee for a game like this so when you ban accounts like bots or spammers there is consequence for them forcing them to buy new copy of game.

I think a report button in mail box and chat would do the trick like others said. After enough reports perma ban them and they have to buy a new game. They wont make enough money each time to afford a new game each ban.
Filters are never the answer which is why they dont have one already its just pointless. The power needs to be with players like a report system. Now maybe an AI system that learns patterns and scans everything could work but its not practical from a time point of view.

Do you think events should increase in difficulty?

in Dynamic Events

Posted by: juiceman.2870

juiceman.2870

Yeah I would agree that a lot of the events at least up until level 30 I am at are just zerg attacks where you barely get hit and they just end up not being at all hard. I think though its more a matter of the events scaling better with more players whether its HP/speed of enemies something to make all the players have to actually contribute and try regardless of how many people show up
