Chris, you would be making that comment up. Nobody says or believes that. When I think SoS NA its more like sit hard enough (on siege, behind walls, etc).

I agree with the above poster. If a warrior cant runaway from a thief it is lack of skill.
When it comes down to it (aka battle speed…what we are talking about here) a mobility warrior is faster than a thief. Our skills will cooldown and be reusable faster than they can attack and regain initiative. If they cant get you down by the time they blow that first full stack of initiative then face it thief, you have no chance on somebody that knows how to cycle their mobility skills.

Easy guys. Chris used to be on the server (i know…nobody even remembers him either) so he obviously knows whats going on. I especially love his description of the situation (since he wasn’t there) and the breakdown of our mindset and psyche.

Actually Luvpie, those camps held by Sea of Siege players were flipped in the next hour as well as some towers. Anything T3 was their already from your night crew. Sea of Siege NA has always been bunker down type mentality. We are just wondering where your roamers are at?
SoS, please don’t ruin this week by simply placing a kitten ton of siege in camps and hide behind it when 3 CD roll up against 5+ SoS and upgraded guards in the camp. Come out and fight!

When did SoS start standing for Sea of Open field Siege? I mean you already had us outnumbered player to player plus the camp guards. Three ballistas per camp and some arrow carts as well?

For some reason even though the numerical glicko gap is equal (hell it’s been smaller) to the gap we here in CD faced vs TC and DB for the last couple weeks (SoS and their opponents for another example, EBAY also) for some reason there hasn’t been a “random” matchup of the 13th rated server with the 12th ranked server. Once we “randomly” get one of these matchups then I think you’ll see that server gain massive points. It’s just to hard to believe that after two months of close battles with SBI that we are at a 300 glicko difference.

So you’re asking why they wouldn’t fight you in an area that spawns npcs everty 2-3 minutes while you have an admitted 1-2 many advantage? I think the answer to this question is common sense…literally.

As a warrior that runs melandru runes and the food being talked about I have to laugh at this thread (as well as your conditions but you already know that). If your a condition build and your not using the +40% condition duration food then you are the ones handicapping your build. This is something you can just as easily counter.

Mag and SoS are in a perpetual state of limbo. You can call us tier 2.5 servers with completely opposite primetimes. SoS or Mag drop we roflstomp, we rise we get stomped due to coverage issues.
This statement. As somebody that faced both i think you can easily compete in tier 2 in your primes (sucks TC is 1.25). Outside of those primes, tier 3. Just take the opportunity to realize that you are “TC” of tier 3 and enjoy the smart remarks and condescending advice like you dish out in our threads.
Sorry to hear SoS is losing guilds. It’s only been 5 weeks of random mathcups though. You guys beat us heavily for two months straight. Don’t give up. I know you can take Maggs (outclass is a given) this week. Where’s all that maggswag this week boys?

Just wondering if this community could help show me where the actual locations of the Server Names are on the map in GW2? I know SoR was named after the person. Also, know the location of my home server CD. Just thought it would be cool to get some screen shots (map view and player shots) of the actual place where your server gets its name.
Yep, after all talk about not being scarred of even fights and not liking open field siege both south camp (SoL) and south east camp (Derp/others) in Yaks were seiged up (thats open field to me) with 5 people just defending in each (hey, we had 5 too. what a coincidence). Wasn’t until they tried to escort their yak that we got a fight and loled on them.
Some people don’t define any area worth points to be open field vOv congrats on your victory though, sounds like you earned it!

Before the matchup is over just want to say thank you to the Yaks and Maggs (well the few that walked what their forumers talked) that brought the heat in even fights and in duels this week.

Cause in CD we hardly have any guilds large enough to have 20 on at a time. Even if our hand full of guilds that have that many people on do there isn’t anything they could learn from you guys in Maggs that they couldn’t learn from more pleasant, less chest thumping people on other servers. I don’t really know what else to tell yall except that if your server attitude wasn’t so leet then maybe you would get engaged more.

Finally, Maggs admits to their forum strategy. I haven’t counted the posts but I am pretty sure the ratio of Magg’s posts to other servers is even greater than both those examples. Here’s another quote from that same post. “Scared to fight in even numbers?” Of course you’re not. You just seem to have a bunch of people that can’t stand not having the last word.
Anyways, to those not enjoying this matchup from Maggs….so what. That’s the great thing about buying your own copy of this game. You can play how you want. And since you bought a copy yourself you have the right to come on the forum and complain about it as well.
Who really cares what another server thinks about you or what you should do? We here in CD are having a great time. Keep bringing it please Maggs and Yaks and good luck next week.

I think with the new improvements in weakness it is fine where its at.

Well, I think that CD needs a break next week and then they need to get some stuff in order. When they are in the zone, they hit the old T3 like a tank so they can expect to regularly face opponents like SoS and Mag at least 50% of the time.
Outside of crapshoot weeks like this, I think they are at a crossroads and can decide if they are the scrappy kings of T4, or another ‘also ran’ down there with SBI and IoJ.
Ok Chris. Thanks again for another opinion(one of many in this thread alone not counting the previous two months of threads) on a server your not even part of. Glad you got that off your chest. We will make sure and throw this opinion on dragon effigies to burn with the rest of them so the people taking a week off from wvw can enjoy them. Take the advice on this forum and stop worrying about us. Believe me when I say the last month to two have been the best in CDs history community wise and play wise. Most on Cd will agree and that’s all that really matters.

Tarnished Coast: 38.879
Sea of Sorrows: -26.146According to the “pure numbers” we should be doing worse. SoS and CD should be doing better.
(But pure numbers disregard very human things like morale, burnout, and boredom mind you, and I think it’s a pretty terrible rubric.)
How should you be doing worse and us better? We have less people participating in wvw than last week and our rating is a bit less. That’s how I read our numbers. Your glicko numbers are up. I know RE is on TC this week now. Not sure who else has transferred but people have admitted to the fairweathers being out this week for you. Your attendance and numbers are up. SoS, glicko numbers going down cause your attendance up and not beating us enough. That is how i read it from a pure numbers standpoint.
We arent talking to you. We are using you and an example of the ignorant behavior and posts on this forum. It seems like you never fail to come out with another. Your last post another example.

You guys are comparing two different servers. As can be gathered even from just the posts of a lot of CD in this thread, they do not care about WvW, or winning it, they only care for the experience.CD doesn’t want that, they dont have the drive, which is why they are in this spot in WvW rankings. I don’t see why this is so hard to gather? A server wanting to win, will beat a server who doesn’t care.
This is the problem with this thread. Somebody not on a server talking about another servers psyche like he knows. This is a pure numbers issue. Not a play style nor a psyche. Besides seemingly never being in a fair numbered fight and your forum zerging we are enjoying the matchup and performing close to our rating. You are admittingly not enjoying the matchup. Who has the problem?

However, this is no way rock bottom for CD (vs Kain after losing guilds and getting back to t3 imho). Despite some peoples unwarranted expectations I think we will finish about 100k points behind SoS which is exactly what we did for two months. Yes CD’s attendance is down this week but ghose of us out there are doing the best we can.

Wow, please stop comparing CD/TC to TC/SoR. Its not even close comparison numbers/coverage wise. Do the glicko math if you must. TC sees how much difference 1000 in rating makes. You can transfer over this week to see how much a 3000 difference rating makes. Still, 99% of CDers on this forum arent QQ over the matchup. Nobody is giving up. Some are taking a break after two hard pressed weeks.
I can honestly say i’m more proud of our server this week than the last two. We have been building a server wide effort to get acquainted with zergball tactics for three weeks now. We didnt need your already widely known advice. Naive statements dropping like lootbags in this thread. Congrats to TC and SoS on the class shown in the field and the thread this week.

SoS, please get back to telling us to show up this matchup like TC isnt focusing on us. We need more pep talks from yall about how “even” our matchup was for the last two months even though you constantly out coveraged us. Maybe then, and just maybe we can make a comeback and get first.
Honestly though I like the new random draw matchups better and barring the following things this has been a fun match up (truely, honestly fun).
1. Constantly being outmanned in most fights in and out of towers/keeps by TC
2. a thread thats over 5 pages long (a CD standard to keep it under)
3.The expectations of any server/player to have any other servers players live up to their expectations.

Yes we have come a long way rebuilding our morale and forces for the last two months and have a great community. It would be nice to have some more EU/SEA guilds or players but I believe as a community we have reached a population equilibrium in wvw that allows players of all timezones to experience wvw in all capacities. From zerg balling to small group camp capping to solo roaming.
Congrats to all that played as best they could for their server. Ready for this next matchup!

This has been a great week for CD regardless of the outcome. Both Yaks and Kain have been great opponents that we could sponge knowledge off of. This has been closest matchup i’ve been involved in.
For the person wondering, i dont think we could match up with Maguuma if we could’t beat SoS for 10 weeks but i bet one of these weeks we will get to see.
I suspect YB, KN, CD and SoS are all pretty close in terms of population and strength. So any of these servers thrown together should produce pretty good matches, but others moving up or down have more trouble making a good match.
Mag was a little too big for T3, but not near strong enough for T2, so just an outlier server that doesn’t really fit with others at the moment.
Just want to say that’s what SoS was for the old T4. SoS, Mag, Yaks, Kain, CD, SBIand maybe EB (we didnt get to see) should all be able to give each other good matchups. Out of these servers SoS oceanic and Mags NA populations give them the slight edge.
Im proud of our CD players this week. We have come out harder and more dedicated than maybe i’ve ever seen. Coordination between each other has been great. Just don’t over do it and get burnt out.
As someone from CD I am proud of our performance so far this week. All old tier 4 server rating increases come from two factors 1. the servers in old t4 were a bit underrated (and receiving recent guild transfers) 2. we are sponging some glicko points from the higher rated servers in our matchup.
I think a lot of people are overreacting to the new system. Its like they forget thakittens offering us a chance for more varied matchups and that matchups only last a week.

Fingers crossed for the SoS CD and EB matchup that we earned glicko wise. Its been 2 months of this same CDvsSoSvsSBI battle. If this new random gives us the old matchup i think some are going to go insane.
Thanks for the two cents Maladon but we arent talking EB. Maybe you didnt recieve info that night (ill take your word for a fact) but you cant account for the actions of all on your server and certain things discussed have been reenacted by players on your server that very night. Maybe you can take my word for fact?
Ultimately i can confidently say that we in CD arent worried about said troll and are jelly about being blue over red in EB.

It doesn’t matter to most of us as we have seen he is not very skilled and even though you can react to his info you still weren’t able to stop what we want to do. I guess we will have to get used to this troll (wow 3rd place has brought out the sore losers for yall this week) just as you will have to get used to 3rd.
Yes, a big lol to Reikou from AdL for being SBi and jumping in CD teamspeak (30 minutes at least). I know yall been slipping down the past couple weeks but please dont tarnish your servers image. CD will be more than happy to show you how to come back with dignity.

This week has been amazing. SoS has been a great addition to the tier. Its been a while since the other servers in this tier have been treated so well by the winning server. SBI, classy as always. I hope we will be able to stay in this tier.
