Honestly chrono can be beaten by other classes 1v1 (if they know what they are doing and have acces to a lot of cc)
But ele’s on the other hand are very hard to even get below90% so your condi teammate can burst them with condi
Then there is the decap engi who use rifle flametrower and knockback gyro who’s knockback’s / immobs can keep you down
And ofc the druid decap tank
I find the ele druid and that engi build boring to play against as it is pretty much impossible to kill them 1v1 (depending on your team comp even more except for the engi build i mentioned

Yea i know its true but that system is so kittened matchups should be 50-50 chance of winning it makes teams more balanced and needs more skill to actually win instead of a disbalanced matchup where you can only look at your teammates fight on one point while you own none while you are getting 2v1’d for wanting to cap/decapped kitten 50% winratio for solo que all it does is make the game more toxic and if both teams are of equal skill it should be close to 50% anyway and winning is more rewarding because you KNOW you have equal chance of winning making mistakes will show more and playing well will show more in the score

Thief is one of my favorite classes because it makes you work JUST hard enough to do things that you need to understand the game to play it well, but you don’t need to be perfect to be effective once you get that understanding.

Warriors and guardians get to walk mindlessly into combat going “lololol Ima staba you face”. As a thief, you need to be clever. When they go to stab you in the face, you move out of the way. When they try to blow their combo you dodge. Are they gonna heal? you interrupt them. Did they just start casting their ult? stealth and wait for it to end, then kill them when they don’t have their crutch.

Can’t beat them in a fight? That’s fine, you’ve got the best mobility in the game and can backcap like a boss. Even if all the points have fights on them, you have enough mobility that you can pick which fight to join and where to turn the tide.

As a thief, the battlefield is a puzzle, and if you can solve it you can win.

as a thief you can hardly ever backcap either they have some 1 at their home who thieves cant beat or there is some1 close by enough to prevent the decap in the 50+ games i played during this season i haven’t seen a single thief decap.
in fact when i am protecting home i can usually just tank their dmg even in 2v1’s with only 175 toughness

just went on a 5 loss streak
1st match player dc’d 2 others went afk in spawn (i was the only one that played the full match through)
2nd match vs a group that was full condi tank (part premade)
3rd match vs a full guild group only playing tanks with one of my teammates being afk at mid
4th match teammates were fighting 4v3 the whole game at mid while we lost sides because i kept getting 2v1’d
5th premade with 2 DH and 3 decap druids

honestly arena net minus the first game how can you call this balanced matchups for a solo que’er

No i dont know how to dodge while beeing immobilized, im trying to learn how to dodge the backstab but not with very high success.
Ye i dont run any toughness, i mean i have no problems against 8/9 classes playing non toughness amulet because you know i can kite/dodge/line of sight/counterpressure them. But ye maybe its not thief and i should run different amulet just because of this one class.
So if people want to deal with thief they should just run tankier build, and then we should buff thief damage because everyone runs tanky build. Good idea and power creep is already what anet likes.

remember is said and or buff dmg but that could also be a trait that bypasses some of the toughness

and why you should deserve that? does it require skill to survive 2 tank with a tank build? Are you skilling or just surviving by rotation of skills, or even worst by abusing a trait build?
Something that most of gw2 players seems to not understand (and pheraps Anet itself) is that rotating skills in cd is not skill, timing attacks and reading opponent movements to burst him is skill instead.

True i have been stuck as a solo que in ruby for so long not because of lack of skill but either because of teamates that sucked or because i wasnt meant to win that match in the first place fact is its easyer to lose multiple pips then it is to win them.
The season shouldnt be so stacked against you plz add solo que and balance matches with a 50-50 chance to win it instead of the 20-80 ratio and losing/ gaining pips doesnt seem affected enough by personal contribution (i can defend a point the whole game vs 2 tanks and get only one pip)

Honestly i play scrapper pretty much ever match i agree the tempest is a problem when they have high toughness chrono’s however you just gotta cc chain an they die, and actually high toughness decap rangers are more of a problem then chrono’s

If you think a thief has to hold a point the problem you have is not thief being too weak,
it is that you don’t seem to know how to play with a thief on your team.

I never said they should be able too hold a point i just said they arent able too. Currently they only work as a+1 class and even then they die too easely to aoe dmg so they are more of a risk too have on your team then any other class + the problem is as well that every build a thief can run is better done by other classes (mainly rev for both high dmg and condi alike)

honestly maining a engi for the leagues i haven’t had that much problems with mesmer’s they either stepped of the point trying to stay alive or just flat out died after two min (only fought them when owning the point).
now they die in half that time ty a-net. for nerfing a class just enough for some people still too complain about it

and no i am not some amber scrub i play in ruby. with an occasional match vs abjured and PZ.

or people should just come up with different builds and move away from the condi meta
really there is no class that shouldn’t be able to take out a different class the same goes for necro vs ele condi necro’s CAN beat ele’s people who say they can’t just need to learn what their skills actually do (fact is ele’s have lil to no stab using DS 5 and shout elite stuns them if you use auto attacks (or any skill that scales well with power) you can get them below 90% fairly quick after that you just keep poison and other condi’s up and gg you win (unless they are running trooper runes (which most aren’t) they have no condi clear other then the water overcharge and water 5 if they are using staff /warhorn. seriously stop complaining about skills that work as intended other wise ele will suffer the exact same fate as the thief!

just played a match got 3v1’d the whole game (kiting on celes engi) wich gave me 0 points my teammates couldn’t cap a single point and i lost 2 pips. cus of how bad my teammates were i am sorry but this system is kittened.

guild missions are borked as well
lornars rush completed with 15 people all went through the poles some people took a min to change out of their forms and some people that got out of their form still didnt count to the 15 people completed thus failing the mission.
same with the devourer rush in diessa
and with the stronghold (pvp missions we got credit where both our teams failed to win) + we where making 3 teams at the same team 2 of the people making those teams couldnt get back in 1 for 1 min and the other for 5 min (logged after)

with daredevils staff being based on a martial arts staff i really should have more evades/blocks, if you would look at shaolin monk staff fighting you would see that most of the “moves” are almost never purely offensive but allways have room to block a attacks or move out of the way, i am missing this feeling on staff now while yes it does have a dodge on the 3 skill it feels clunky and unusable because you would need to use a gapcloser to get back up in someone’s face thats why i would like to propose certain evade frames into the auto attack (like the ranger on GS and sword main) because the damage reducing conditions don’t give enough survivability to thief since those hit only 3 characters and you can be hit by unlimited amounts of players/mobs,
also with the current condition meta DD doesnt have synergy with condi builds because you would have to sacrifice vigor gain. and while the heal on successful evade needs to be fixed i feel like its in a good place while the clear condi on dodge should be able to proc multiple times in one evade since most condi builds apply multiple kinds conditions, to cover for those that actualy hurt (or make it remove 3-2 conditions on evade).

Eh it’s so easy to get around, block the person, copy their name to the bar, then unblock and chat. I do this a lot when I have good duels in WvW with people. Just block them before a fight, that way they can’t do anything to harass you and if it was a good fight, you can message me back.

i wasnt talking about wvw besides when people do that they usually block type the name and unblock then talk no i was talking about they fact that its more often due to the influx of new players that they start talking kitten in pvp ranked matches blaiming other players for losing then when you say some thing back they block you and keep whispering you there is absolutly no reason why a block should allow you to talk too that person other then arenanet not having thought about it or too lazy to fix (for 3 years) when you block a player they cant talk too you so why should you be able to talkt o them

ele d/d gets wrecked by decent necro’s.
engineer. if you are glassy enough they either run or insta down.
ranger, really only the trap ranger or BM ranger could be considered OP
howver trap ranger is very easely countered (dont step into the traps) and BM rangers can really only kill thiefs.

and necro isnt supposed to be a condi class its supposed to be a condi/corrupt class

and you missed the real problem wich is any condi shatter mesmer. wich is almost uncounterable.

oops meant 3 guildy’s and dude i have almost 5k houres ingame most of it spend in pvp and wvw and no i dont mean eotm and hotjoin i mean solo ranked and team ranked i play a average of 15 games a day with 8 out of 15 win minimum i am not some scrub i am rank 80 yes but i was rank 60 before the change to the track system my guildy’s average on the 40-60 ish and that was only because a few didnt come back untill recently
and if those numbers in your signature are recent i have played about 2k more games. the fact that you assume i am some newb says more about you then me.

i know big changes are coming, but i just wanted to share this.
i was running with 4 guildy’s me having the highest rank qued us for ranked and we ended up against a full guild team (not much of a problem, been there done that).
the real problem was the level 2 thief with under 300 AP with a build you get when you have a new account and enter as a thief for the first time…
HOW THE kitten does some1 like that end up in a “high ranked match”.
i really hope they will fix issues like this because thiefs are already pretty bad with the current meta but when you get a noob thief that has maybe 5 houres in the game ends up with players that have 2k+ houres in the game flabbergasts me and shouldnt be able in the first place plz mak players only able to que ranked after they have had X amount of hours in game (yes this system is sortoff in place but pvp and wvw shouldn’t be at level 20 ish but at lvl 80 because stuff like this is kittened.

You are already rewarded for winning you are already reawrded for either capping or decapping however you are not being rewarded for tanking they should fix that instead as too the whole MMR thing. It would be hard to implement the way the OP wants it since you have to take the reward tracks in account. But it isnt really a matter of MMR it more of how well you synergise/mean for your team i mean dont get me wrong 1v1’s are fun but you never see them in higher ranked matches hence personal skill is pretty much non existing at that level (still above the average player ofc)

Mesmer is by design a ninja class and not a sustain they survive by avoiding damage.

mesmer is by design a magic user that uses clones/mantra’s to control/confuse their enemies you must be confused thieves are the real ninja class not mesmers

the real problem here is that thieves while they can perma-invis (with only one build mind which doesn’t get used really. is that most of the thieves stealth’s are interuptable while only 1.5 skills of the mesmer skills are (mass invis /veil) while skills like SR the 2-5 combo on d/p hide in shadows can all be interrupted/knocked out of.
2nd thief has a lower base HP and has to be in someone’s face to do a lot of dmg and gets cc’d easely in the process. yes thieves have a trait that teleports you away when stunned but mesmer has a similar trait. thieves are actually worse at stealthing then the mesmer atm yes the have a longer uptime off stealth but its harder to actually stealth as a thief. not too mention that both the classes have access to blind.however thief has to be in the targets face while mesmer only has to for one of their blinds. then lastly aside from the higher health pool the mesmer has a lot of invul which makes up for their shorter stealth up time. really the only time you see a mesmer is when the have you down or when they are invulnerable/unreachable. its just ridiculus
the condi pu build is the worst and pretty much uncounterable on any class but d/d ele. and then its not a matter of who wins but who runs away in time

1. you gain 25 rank point for absolutely free
2. yes you have moved to the other team unless you were carrying that team you wont be missed and if you were you can carry the team you got moved to and maybe win.
in which case you would get more points. for having switched over.
3. the real problem isn’t in getting the full rewards (which you do btw) the problem lies in the fact that you dont get any thing if you forcebly got moved over if you would have said that i would have agreed with you now i can only say that you are simply wrong.

its not broken same a hotjoin isnt broken the players that are playing it however make it so that its unbalanced. + its neccessary to have a reward in place for having players move teams otherwise it would never happen. also just saying its broken doens’t help any1 give a example or explanation about how or why its broken according too you.
