they should also fix the signet. now it has 1sec cast time which is the most annoying thing and one of our main requirements to survive. other class with signet does not have that cast time because its supposed to be instant…… ANET always mess up Rangers and they will not stop showing how worthless we are.
nvm they already fixed the signet..

The druid beta has showed me one thing: Healing Power & Healing needs a MAJOR rework across all classes.
Compare Engineer Medkit #1, which forces you to actively follow someone to heal them, and give up 100% of your damage for the entire time. This healing does about the same hp/s as regen does. You give up 100% of your damage to do something a herald can do with their healing skill. while still doing anything else they want. Hell, if you’re both full healing power builds the revenants regeneration would outheal your medkit, thanks to the bonus healing % a revenant gets.
Off topic, but…
I don’t see why healing needs a MAJOR rework. Obviously, Engineer is not supposed to be as healing support oriented as a Revenant who is not as healing support oriented as a Druid. What’s the issue? You want homogenous classes where everyone can do the same thing?
Also off topic… but…
I don’t see the big deal with Herald, Ranger core can already do 90% of what it does. Although, you do have the Legend swapping.
you used the term “supposed to” and you are right on some part because that’s the same thing most of us thought…. Rangers are not supposed to be a healer!.. buffer? kinda should tap it more since our support build does not give required buffs in pve or pvp and they should have focused on that or our pet skills changed to work better with different builds.
The elite specs are comically overpowered.

I was about to post the same thing. Some of the elites are way too OP and way silly in combat mobility. Dragon hunters hitting for 16K with one invisible trap, and a Reverent who is so fast in combat that it has no counterplay. But so what as long as it sells HoT. I don’t get how they think this is acceptable. Do these specs get tested?
Revenant do have counter play and you just need to learn how to play one to be able to counter one. it is pretty basic and do not waste your dodge on useless stuff just like a nub. Revenant have no good sustain as dps build which is easy kill since they do not have condi cleanse if dps set which is the most annoying thing fora glint/shiro build. Revenant combo can be stopped by 1, knock them back, 2 dodge, 3 immunity, 4, fight them from a distance, 5 fight them while your invis, 6 out heal them with Ele since energy for Revenant is their source of function and does deplete really fast for only a few attack skills.
…Then we should demand they have to change the lead developer.
The same as when you pay for a meal and the food is disgusting and you demand to give back the money…This is absurd. It is not the same thing at all. It would be like buying a meal at a restaurant and then 3 years later deciding that you don’t like the way the meal has been changed on the menu so you go back into the restaurant and demand the chef be fired. It’s that stupid.
I brought HoT like a month ago based in false promises. We are not talking about GW2 core game that now it’s free.
This is even worse!
They never promised anything. Can you point to anywhere that one of the devs made any semblance of a promise or stated they were doing to make Druid the way that you wanted it to be? And what way it that, just quietly? They never released any information about it at all, that was what we were all crying about before the reveal.
I’m sure there are plenty of people who think Druid has gone in the wrong direction, but there are many who think its the right direction indeed. Just because you think its not good, doesn’t mean it isn’t, also doesn’t mean its not exactly as intended.
What is good for one mode may not be for another, I talked about the meta being a lie in another thread and its true, literally any class is viable for PvE. The same is not the case for PvP or wanted for WvW, Druid fills those needs.
In any case, your expectations were unrealistic, in fact, any expectations were unrealistic because there was zero information about what Druid would be, everything was speculation. Even the speculation was for support.
So, you bought something, sight unseen, that you cannot return, based on opinion and expectations that you created yourself and when the product turned out different than you were expecting in your imagination, you want the person who designed it to lose their job? I mean, are you serious? Because that is exactly what you are asking for.
it is what we paid for and it is the majority of us who suffers. most did not expect a useless healer and some hoped it wouldn’t be a healer because the game was build to not require a healer and that made the game more challenging but will need some type of skill that can take away enemy buffs or add condi attacks. we have plenty of healing class and now a healing Druid?? there are things required to move forward and we don’t play well with pity because if the world works that way, then we would have never advance to the world we live in today. let me ask you thins, if you saw a cop who shot an innocent man and found out that the cop have a sick wife that he needs to take care of would you defend him too? and not let him go to jail?
Most players are not aware but the highest dps build for rangers is Longbow Condi, A/D or A/T. and this build can compare about the same to an Ele burst combo/Guard just not require to be up close, and have allot of cleanse. even tho we can do this, rangers are still not liked in dungeons.
“It’s supposed to be an addition, it’s supposed to be an addition”.
Guardian: Dragonhunter
Revenant: Herald
Warrior: Berserker
Engineer: Scrapper
Ranger: Druid
Thief: Daredevil
Elementalist: Tempest
Mesmer: Chronomancer
Necromancer: ReaperWhich of these changes the ENTIRE ROLE of the core class? None except the Druid.
All of these are a TRUE addition to their role, either giving them a extra boost to their power or to their utility.
NONE of them change the entire role of the profession. You don’t see the Reaper changing the DPS Necromancer into a Tank. You don’t see the Dragonhunter changing the Tank Guardian into a Healer. Why does the Druid change the DPS Ranger into a Healer?
Agreed.
it is supposed to be a sort of upgrade which most class has but this is to be expected because ANET hates the rangers and now they even decided to break the game mechanics of no healer required and dump it on their most hated class. there is no challenge in dungeon now because of this only heal class mechanics. No one can change this now and it is far too late to save. most of us who main Rangers already gave up on this class because we are sick and tired of being beaten to the ground and ignored like we don’t exist.
DRUID required changes.
Celestial Avatar requires some damage and should only have 1 skill for healing or add entirely different skill set for different weapons that are offensive too since staff is just supportive just for more options.
Glyphs are ok but they cannot replace what most of us really need to survive so change some of them to a different use. like make Glyph of Sunlight and Glyph of Midnight (light or dark since its nature based)
Glyph of Sunlight or Day that adds aura when activated have chance to take out a boon for the next 5 attack and add a trait that will give 3 sec immunity to condition damage when activated. Glyph of Darkness or Night that adds an aura to your team when activated have a chance to add random Condition for the team and when traited 3 sec protection added.
Cons with this?: well now we have a valuable class for dungeons and pvp that can make condi damage users play differently and smarter on when to use their combo and Zerkers also play differently will have to play smarter too and this makes the play style more complicated but challenging and fun, will also help in Dungeons or Raids. add a special unique mob that have buff so that debuffer skills can be used for a fun and challenging mechanic.
these is the easy fix change that can be made. let us not make the game too easy because we now have a healer now and keep the tradition of no healer requires just common sense and having fun.
Core ranger issues dont come under druid issues.
And you dont HAVE to use the elite.
However
We do HAVE to get some development time on core Ranger issues too. So it is on par with some of the ludicrous sheet the other classes ( and their Elites) can pull off.
Ive seen some insane stuff (boon stacking and DPS) done by Engy(Scrapper), Mesmer(Chrono), Rev, Necro(Reaper) on streams over the weekend. The same sort of stuff that made Roy instantly nerf WHaO.
The core ranger is a bit ok right now since most players got use to it. I think they should focus on the future of druids because that is the theme of this expansion and what we paid for.. now players that I know are saying it is quite not as challenging as before since now in pvp/pve we have a class that is focused on heals and tons off buffer so it no one can die as long as they keep this cycle. before most players are based on timing, good decision making for play style and now its just broken and there is no other way to play a Druid other than heal or not. I suggested that we get some other buff or debuff and some DPS more like a support dps class like everyone else so we do not break the balance of no requirements for a healer. I know there are other players that can do party buff but that doesnt mean we can have a unique one or just get rid of the stability stacking but leave the might buff. Druid skills on glyphs should also add some nature theme and what I mean is like, earth armor on elementalist, some elemental aura that adds a unique element like aura of the Light, while activated out going damage have the chance to burn or take out a buff. aura of the Night that could randomly add offensive Condition damage. there are options and I do not understand how we end up with this healer class…
Hi all,
Please let me know if you agree, but I think the druid is very limited because of the following:
Avatar:
It is completely dependent on the staff which make the weapon’s possible combinations only 1…equip 2 staffs.
Why can we finish the Avatar mode? It does not make sense because when you finish it, you lose the whole progress…… this should change!!The 3rd ability is a blast, but…. it does not work and you cannot combine it with the 4th ability when in avatar mode.
Damage:
As you can only equip two staff to make the Avatar 100% useful, the damage is very limited which makes the Druid completely support and, therefore, only 1 possibility to play. The Druid can only be a tank. It is not versatile and in can get boring to play. All other specialization can use Condition damage builds, direct damage and use blessings etc
Proposals,
I understand that healing so much and making lots of damage at the same time might be too OP but…. It needs something else.I would propose to add something like remove blessings from foes and turn them into conditions and/or move blessing from foes to allies. Also turn your condition into blessings
The druid is only healing, it does not have any blessings skills….this should change
IF none of the above is done (and I’m not sure if it would be enough) the druid needs to heal and do direct damage.
If you end the Avatar mode, the progress should stay where it was
Other weapons that are not the staff, should also move the progress of the Avatar’s bar
We need stability, is very easy to counter the healing of the Druid.
I would appreciate further comments.
forget it. I don’t think ANEt cares. I have posted on this ranger forums same problems of being limited to Staff and heal skills that are not useful and need something different like debuff or buff then was told by someone that there are people who knows Rangers better than everyone else LOL. this post is going no where because there are already a good amount of people that bend over to take this support class type, those people who don’t really fight for the Ranger community because they are just the dog that makes the sheep follows and not the actual people like us who are concern about this uber support that has no synergy, versatility and challenge.
and where is the challenge in dungeon now that no one needs to watch their health and rarely use their heal skill??? this is gonna get boring soon.
@ lxghostxl
You keep going on about helpful buffs. Ranger can already give a party 100% uptime on 11 might, Fury, Swiftness, Regeneration, 80% uptime on Protection and 70% uptime on Vigor as well as 50% uptime on Stability, those those have CDs no not technically 100%, it will be 100% during a fight. This, while putting out near 1000hps for a party, passively. That’s using sword MH and doing respectable damage at the same time.If Druid could build AF better through damage, it would be the only support a party needs, phalanx warrior would be obsolete because everyone else can stack the other 14 might, no need for guard hammer or mace just aegis and blinds + DPS, a chrono, an aura tempest and rest DPS.
I see raids becoming;
2x Support Druid... Something like this…
2x DPS Auramancer Tempest
2x DPS Chrono
2 x DPS/Aegis/Blind Guards
2 x Pure DPS builds[deleted post redacted by mod]
party buff not solo buff and I am well aware of those buffs and the party buff we can provide so Do not tell me someone knows Rangers better than anyone because there is no such thing!. we could have just had a better fix on pets or buff our pets, if you would use that excuse as a form of authority then you failed. I know he does post for rangers and give fix and never said he don’t, but this is not the best approach for this class. I am speaking on my own opinion and accept all comment but never tell me I don’t know anything about the class. healer? LOL! don’t make me laugh.. this game was build without a healer and you already forgot that and feels the need to just follow this joke, I want the money i spent to be worth it.

Looking at the update history of other elite specs, the feedback after every beta was immensely important to get them on a good level. I think very very few people would argue that druid doesn’t need a few fixes at this point and a lot of the skills need a rework. This is nothing new.
However, what if the changes after one beta are still not enough to get them in an actually good and polished spot? If Druid at HoT release is still clunky and has core problems, can we expect to see fixes at the same ground level that other elite specs got in between beta weekends? I like the core gameplay of druid, but this is at the moment my greatest worry about the class. I think having only one BWE might have doomed the elite spec from the get go.
Ya I think they will fix is just as they always fix rangers… NOT!!! lol don’t expect any good fix for Druids. the only fix they will do for Druid is make our experience with it worst than ever and keep us. if you have been a Ranger player for a while then you should know already that they only take away good things from rangers..
Its kind of funny that there’s people posting on here saying that Ranger is in fact useful and wanted. Where the christ were these people for the last three years all the way up until Druid was announced?
Not here defending Ranger, that’s where.
EXACTLY !
None of these guys main a Ranger till POP here yah go Rangers go heal…
most players are just a sheep that accept any beating from ANET and take it as a reward. I cannot defend my self or any other main Ranger players because I know that we will always be treated like a nobody by ANET.. Roy please be done with it and stop making a fool out of us, we pay for the game too…
Why was the most radical departure of elite specs “The Druid” saved for the last BWE and therefore given the least amount of testing time ?
Seriously, Druid is the absolute biggest change for any of the classes in this game, yet it is held back for the last BWE, giving the players who main Rangers jacksquat the ability to help define this spec. Revenant should have been held back till the last weekend, considering the gravity of the changes Rangers are now having to consider.
I just don’t follow the thinking behind this decision, yet again another slap in the face to all those who try to take the Ranger class seriously.
If A-net hates the Ranger so much (Just ask Roy) just remove it from the game so we can all move on. So tired of the neglect, so tired of the abuse (Roy), so tired of being a 3rd class citizen in this game, treated like crap in almost every aspect by the player base, and the developers.
This may come across as hyperbole, heck i can even admit it might be a bit, but let us all be honest here, 3 YEARS, and this is what we get.
its because they want to make sure we won’t retaliate and be like other Sheeps in this community to just accept all the beating. we are nobody to them and this last healer garbage is just another excuse to push us away and they know this will happen.
Ranger didn’t need an elite spec to specialize in DPS since ranger already focuses on DPS.
Elite specializations aren’t suppose to be an upgrade to the core, they are suppose to open up a new playstyle that wasn’t there before.
It’s not a childish response to tell you to simply not play the druid. Druid is a completely optional addition to the profession. Core ranger is still there and still functional without the druid trait line.
Just do it Ehecatl.
Tell him that his Ranged ranger is viable. And while at it, tell him that we already are ZerkMeta.
We need people like him realize that Elite Specialization was not supposed to buff their current play-style but to give ranger more options.
that is my target.. to have more options on this druid trait line that is better that survival. this is a dps class and we can already tank, somewhat heal but need to be able to buff. most of the classes that are mostly required in dungeons and other things are buffers. if we can just have helpful buffs or buff stripping skills or daze ( not from astral or staff) then we could have been ok with it. like I said before, we do not have any good use on most cases because we cannot provide buffs like other class but we are DPS class so we should at least get that on elite because it is part of what we are paying for. I would never yield to a class play that is forced to us.. this is what most Rangers want and it will always be the reason why everyone else gets Elite that at least playable and then we get to be a useless healers, as if no one else can heal. the end of the stick will always be on us and you guys are letting them pay you like a tool while taking your money. only thing I can do now is to change to Revenant and this is about the end of BWE so no use to force anyone, just want you guys to see the reality of our situation.

that is why I said support is better and not heals that disabled us.
Here is my own statement: most rangers will not want to play druids. If druids are really mandatory for raids as Anet seems to state it, then raids are done. If they change raids to adapt for the lack of druids, then druids are a complete failure and it is possible many rangers will leave the game. And if druid are not actually that mandatory for raids, then they are already a complete failure, because they are not good at anything else.
Agree’d
I 3rd that.
first nothing does more damage on this class beside Condi which is A/D or A/T and Staff with http://dulfy.net/gw2traits#build=AgUG-AJ8A6g~ and utility of Zephyr, Sharpening Stone, Signet of Stone and Entangle. if you don’t believe me then go try it your self and see which one has higher dps, survival cleanse and fast kill.
now for the real problem here. I’ve said this before and I will say this again. me and I know allot of other people out there chose this class for DPS range and not as a healer. we the Rangers are being toyed around and ignored for a long time and this has gone far enough.. this is how I see things in this game, we are the buyer and imagine Ranger as a 2003 Honda that still runs ok. then ANET have this old broken wheels but have cool colors in it and some glitters on the side and present it as a trading Item in exchange of our 2003 Honda. this is always the case and there are allot of players here who are simple minded and took that offer of a worn out shiny wheels with glitters. these people are the who have this childish excuse of “you dont like healers? then dont play it” while missing the fact that YA we don’t like healers thats why we did not roll for guardian and we chose DPS ranger!. I like the new pets but the druid is in no what so ever worth wasting our money for.
what I think should be the changes for Druid?
well. do not make us a healer and give us dps on astral form and change those heals to support buffs or disables or condi just not heals. change the animation of Staff wield and change the effect of those gylphs that can actually be a better option that Wilderness Survival for Survival cd reduct as our cleanser (Astral form have this but not worth it since you will end up as a dummy target due to the fact that you don’t ahve any skills beside heals). this way we won’t be OP but will still feel useful and be able to have fun.
useless. go condi does more dps and better way to kill the majoirty of players who have invul stat from phy.
Thats why you have this thing called off weapon….. learn to switch and stop whining that a Elite Specialization built around Healing doesnt do Zerker damage…
ranger is a dps class. you want us players who paid for the game and chose this class to be a healer and if we dont like it we don’t play it? LOL! you are fooled by ANET and it is expected since not so many out there control their own brain. you were just told by ANET to be a healer in a game where healers are not required LOL!!!!
Omg not this kitty again!!! Stop with this already please.
you dont like healers dont play it!!!! Stop whining about a healer specialization being good at healing and not good at damage….
sorry to say this but I think you are one of those simple minded people. We the real ranger players does not like the IDEA of healing DRUID since we first chose this class for dps and not to be someone’s pet to heal them and be useless in pvp. you sir are like everyone who does not understand the fact that you bought a car and a net traded a shiny cart to replace it. that is how it is here, since I know you would not understand this so to make it easier. the Car is your current ranger and the cart is druid, get it?
Hey Irenio, I’ve got to get to bed, but I’ve just logged a few hours trying out Druid (have been a main Ranger since pre-original-launch), and I wanted to say a couple things:
THANK YOU!!! I cannot tell you just how awesome, stylish, and fun this is to play!! And the synergy — I could run an incredible build with almost any other combination of trait lines/weapons, and they’d all be different, but still potentially awesome.
Now, on to the constructive criticism/feedback. I’ll save my longer thoughts for later, but here are a couple things:
- I love the piercing/healing effect on staff 1; it fits the Ranger style (along with the piercing arrows) really well and make healing and damaging with it active and fun. The entire weapon, in fact, just feels awesome: Decent damage, packed with utility, and it fits the theme and still feels Rangery. Possible bug: Spamming staff 1 out of combat was filling Astral Force really fast, even though nothing was being hit or healed; my wife tried the same thing, and said it wasn’t doing it for her character. So… probably not intended, but I’m not sure how it glitched.
- Contrary to a couple other posts, I feel like an AoE king right now (although self-targeted); Running Staff/GS, Marksmanship longer daze duration trait, Ancient Seeds, and I just leap/Astral Grace into the middle of things and hit the daze glyph, aoe damage/weakness glyph, maul, f5, astral 3 —> astral 5 (maybe some more astral skills until I can hit 3 again), exit, and then spam whatever; I’m still in celestial gear (except weapons), but I basically can’t die and everything around me just get trashed, at least in Verdant Brink. The glyphs are fantastic, at least with the glyph trait and ancient seeds.
- Probably the daze on Lunar Impact is too long. If I run Marksmanship, I can more than maintain it while in Avatar Mode, and it’s basically spammable — the havoc this could cause in team fights in PvP is just…
- Ancient Seeds is an incredible trait (and possibly should have closer to a 15 sec. ICD, although I would love to leave it as-is). Most of the traits, really, are fantastic. The other two grandmasters feel pretty weak, though, and I agree with some others that some aoe on the staff would be nice. Also, Lingering Light feels a little silly, if the wisp doesn’t also heal you — What if Lingering Light also caused Wisps to damage/siphon health from enemies they pass through (or are attached to)?
- Some of the healing may need to be toned down, or at least have its base lowered and its scaling buffed, so that it is not quite so powerful on a full zerk (or otherwise non-healing-invested) build. In return, though, it really would be nice (for the sake of tagging/etc.) if there were some damage (or a way to trait for it) on some of the celestial skills — at least on the Auto-attack. Or burning, or something otherwise offensive.
- Bug: Right now, the reduced pet skill recharge bonuses from Beastmastery don’t seem to affect the Wyverns’ skills (I haven’t checked the others yet). The tooltip, at least, stays the same.
- Glyph of Tides would make a lot more sense, I think, if the functions were reversed: Pull on normal use, Push away in Celestial form. I am much more likely to want to extra room while I’m trying to heal, and much more likely to want the pull when I’m fighting. Also, the KB puts enemies out of range of the other glyphs, traps, melee attacks, and etc, which somewhat hurts its synergy with Ancient Seeds and general beatdown.
- Bug: Lunar Impact states it’s a blast finisher, but does not proc one when cast on a field (or at least does not give the visual indication of proccing one).
- It would be nice if there were a way to somewhat improve the amount of Astral Force generated through most heal skills and somewhat weaken the amount gained by Troll Unguent (which right now nearly fills the entire bar on one cast, once it’s pulses have finished). I would also approve of a trait that allowed regeneration and life-steal (from us or our pets) to fill the bar, particularly if something were changed to allow some amount of life-siphoning, like, say, pet attacks on enemies struck by staff 2 (while the wisp is orbiting them). Or maybe regen could fill it somewhat as baseline functionality, which would offer more diversity in our potential heal options (since HS already causes regen and traited WHaO does, too) and would even make other shouts potentially useful as bar-fillers.
- There were a few other things, but I’m too tired to remember them right now. Thanks again though, and please, while I know some things are definitely too strong right now, don’t let us lose this amazing feel and synergy. It rocks.
In general, this is the most fun I have had on any class in a long time, it looks and feels incredible, and in general, while I realize I’m probably vulnerable to heavy control builds, I feel ridiculously powerful, stylish, and generally awesome. And I love the effects (although I agree with a slightly larger, more sun-colored, including-on-hit-lens-flare-or-something-effect staff 1 upgrade)! My Ranger has now truly ascended and is indeed closer to the stars.
try playing more buddy you might change your mind after a day.
I thought I like it at the first 5 hours of pvp. but then again the longer I play with high ranked players the more I realize how easy it is to get killed and that all my offensive are nothing. Druid the healer is garbage where only possibility of being wanted is minimal and players who rolled for DPS never really want to play as a support. there are skills that looks fun but after hours of playing, you will realize that its all just a joke. Berserkers are OP and Herald comes next, then Scrapper, Reaper, Tempest, Dragon hunter, Dare devil and then Ranger. we are once again worthless. best build can be done with Druid as dps is condi and build up 25 bleeds. but if they have cleanse which is 90% of the time then you will end up running around like a clown not being able to do anything and your Astral form is the biggest garbage in pvp history. those who are saying healing full support in pvp are good? lol those are nubs who have no idea that they only needed to be cc’ed twice and players will be killing them in an instant specially Herald that can drop em but not as fast as Berserkers. and that is because Astral form does not have stability and this is intended to never make us op.
Astral form basically what Anet wanted to tell us… (we are disabled from the game) consider this as their first move before they move us entirely. from players who rolled to DPS now forced to do heals and had Astral form as a mechanic to stop us from playing in the game since our heals are crap and weakness is crowd control and not being able to attack. I promise you try playing Druid for hours and you will find your self being charged once astral form is used and they will have no fear only KILL in their mind because Astral form to other classes means free easy kill!
don’t worry about the staff. druid itself as a class is bad…

Druid as a whole should be remade and not made as a healer.
I vote to have bristle back gigantic forever.
Just ask anet to lower cd on sharpening stone to help your sb damage output as well as other condi build. This wont make it op since its not always the best utility for other build.
Nothing wrong with being a healer but we chose a dps long range which is called RANGER, and if we wanted to go for a healer then we should have done so in the first place. the game GW2 promised that unique game play of not requiring a healer and tank. to me personally, I would not like a healer for my ranger on druid but would like a buffer support dps Druid. see in most game the problem with having a heavy healer class is that when you actually try to find a group you will end up going full heal than actually playing as a dps even thou that is the class you rolled for. if they change those buff like instead of a heal gives vigor buff and protection then I would be happy because that will make players actually play and not make druid do all the job to help them survive. you will see soon enough when they required you as a druid healer. you will get allot of angry players because when you cannot do the best heal team play then you will understand why. btw I know you can work on it and get better but is that the main reason you play a ranger? I have been a ranger for a long time and it has always been the main reason why I play the class. I like the pets tho because they do decent damage.
It said a chance to dodge and immunity to cc and condi not immune to any damage…
Oh how I wish to have Sharpening Stone cd go 5 sec lower without the trait line of survival.
ONE MORE THING! please fix the pet where when we jump off some cliff that they should also jump down with us or when we jump up or make them teleport to us, because there is nothing more annoying than a pet who you have to wait for ever to run towards you and to your target and by the time they arrive you are already dead… make the f2 instant cast without waiting to catch up to target and being out run just by jumping up and down a space..
Best advice anyone can give right now… Wait till after HoT comes out before you potentially waste money on equipment. Will be sooner than you think.
already have most equipment on my Ranger and other class. HoT seems like a good Condi war game and the pets do get condi damage now which we can either ignore and still run zerk with a good condi damage from bristle back or we use it to our advantage since allot of player can get invulnerability status.
I can really deal with all of the Druid changes and additions…
What needs to be adjusted are the pet attack mechanics (stopping before connecting with an attack) and Event Contribution through healing, rezzing, and defending.
Irenio states that the Zerk Meta will not be compliant going forward, but as it stands now the Zerk Meta is the only way to guarantee getting event credit.
If i want to heal my fellow adventurers and really be serious about it, i would have to concentrate on healing as my primary consideration. Why would i do this with the way anything is calculated in the current game ? Does not matter which game type is played PvP, WvW, PvE, damage is the only way to guarantee the maximum chance to get full credit.
Other players who will come in here and say it is all ok, more then likely have not Main healed in other games, most of those other games are structured to give a main healer credit for doing just that. GW2 is sorely lacking in this category.
This needs to be addressed quickly if you really want me and others to embrace the idea of what your vision of the Druid should be. If i know that i will get the same credit as a Zerk Meta player will, i will champion this class change 100%. Otherwise this is a skill i will ignore and go back to waiting for my Ranger to get fixed…. again.
most rangers are on Zerk Meta build because they havent tried this http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQNAT8YjEqQNLWyCOsAVLGIEqdHCgqun3WPG4C40X9EulhrB-TpgPgAA7P0WGAA
I love those new pets but not really sure about the heal skill glyph. I fell that it should be atleast a sort of offensive support or something like that since all the druids skills are basically all heal. we also need that pet AI fixed, other than that I think its fair. if I didnt see those new pets I would have stopped playing but the pets with some good help on surviving condi and group fights does sound fair and support for PVE. i would have love the druid if it was more like a dps support buffer or something different like the solar beam should just give players Vigor than a heal because this too much heal on ranger skill will only make players depend on druids and I personally want them to do their own work too and learn how to dodge roll. there should also be some buff skills on glyphs rather than having it to just fully heal. also some good offensive that have condition damage to assist on build diversity with at least 3 set of weapons so that people won’t just do zerk.. i cant believe most player only think zerk is the only way tho since this build http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQNAT8YjEqQNLWyCOsAVLGIEqdHCgqun3WPG4C40X9EulhrB-TpgPgAA7P0WGAA does work better than zerk also in pvp…

Ok I have played (a/d,s/t) for a long time and bored with it. so now I am using a condi Long Bow build that have really high strength in terms of sniping enemy from a far for a quick kill. I know there was a thread about post your build here but please post your build here and also try out my build and see if you like it. if not tell me whats wrong with it?
btw I have played allot of pvp but only rank 50 and i rarely lose to a 1v1 or team fight but I do get killed fast by those pro group thieves.

Q: entangle.. it is still dodgeable and blockable? just played some game and this is what I noticed.
Have you guys encounter those new pets in maguuma jungle? If so post locations here becuase its quite possible to find them there.
Ok about druids. I really didnt like the healer type class but it have some good things in it and I am not gonna hide that fact. Celestial form does help because we do not have a good cleanser beside getting a build tank with shouts or survival without taking too much of our required skill to have use. The perma mspeed will help for positioning but those other gylph skills is kinda useless. The only thing that excites me are the new pets and was hoping if they can change some of the beast mastery traits or make the nature spirits mobile again since it can help us for new play style. Also if they can fix the pets ai and let then zuse f2 when we use it and not wait for a long time for pets to get close and cast skills. Also fixe the survival elite skill because it says unblockable but everyone blocks and dodge away from it . What do you guys think? Letz talk about the good things without becoming op and help rangers have. More diversity for a better experience and ability to change to different play style as a nature build, beasts focus .r druid.
You’re totally right, man!
ArenaNET just broke my heart with Druids. I’ve yelled “Nooooooo” through all Twitch druid presentation.
First of all, they broke my favorite part of this game – no tanks\healers
Second, I waited for this elite spec from the very beginning. I was so hyped when I saw it in the trailer. I thought that it will be a cool dps spec with staff… you know you pewpew with thorns, call for razor-leaf AoE tornado, roots, etc. I waited for spirit skills re-done (so the spirits would be like here: huge’n’awesome http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/9/9e/Sylvari_09_concept_art_%28The_Druid%29.jpg)
Third, I’m OK with healing\support but for the f@cks sake, why can’t we do some dps in dang Celestial form? That spell is worthless if you play alone then. (I play alone most of the time)
Fourth, I didn’t wait for solar\lunar magic for ranger.
They just created another World-Of-Warcraft-like druid. I’d say just exact copy. Boomkin form + Tree spells + some boomkin visuals = Druid in GW2. I don’t wanna play another WoW. This is not why I quit WoW.
Thanks god, that there’s no Eclipses…I’m realy dissapointed, I don’t like the spec I’ve waited most of all
Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorn Dissapoint of the Year Edition
P.S. at least, mages got even worse spec. I must agree that they’re totally not Tempest-like (I hate RIFT but Tempest is great there).
ANET forgot that we chose Rangers because we love to solo and dps. I think all this worked is just a joke. who ever decided that rangers should be the clown of the party is offended us with this spec. the promise of no healer/tank is just a lie, ANET failed!
Just curious, long time ago when GW2 came out it had the promise of being able to play any game without having a healer. I loved GW2 just because of that. the challenge of trying to stay alive while running a dps build and having that good feeling of playing because although everyone are dps build they made it through just with their own wits and good timing on when to use a heal and other skills. now the game seems like it became a joke that people who chose a class because it suits their dps play style suddenly changed to a healer, tank ect. this druid skill made me realized how ANET did not care about their promise and player’s play style and just decided to mess with us with a twist that does not make our gaming experience the best experience in MMO world. what do you guys think? are you all ok with getting back to the same cycle as other MMO out there with the requirements of a healer? because to me this just sad and very bad move from ANET. If I wanted to play an MMO that has healers I would have moved to WOW or other new games out there. I was hoping that these new elite class are gonna provide buffs while staying on track with their main play style because buffs that you can get from another player is more better than having or forcing a dps type to become a healer, the guy who does not have a skill and only focus on healing his teammates following their needs while looking like an idiot in the battle field like a clown?
ArenaNet have never been anti-trinity. They have been anti-forced holy trinity, which is rather different.
Healers have been in the game since release. They have simply made them better latety.
We know that you love the holy trinity and want ArenaNet to put it into the game, but this is not a step towards that. It is simply them going forward with what they have been doing since release.
I dont know about you but when GW2 first came out, it had a promise of a game play that does not require a healer and that GW2 can offer you that special play style of dps that can survive on its on. that is what I loved about GW2 and now after a couple of years they backed down on that and made a complete fool of MMO players like me that fell in love with the game’s uniqueness of being able to play without a healer. there are only a few people who loves to be a healer and I can promise you that majority of use who picked rangers never dreamed of becoming the healer class type that we hated the most.
You guys are never happy with anything dont cha?… Man what would i give to have that much effort put into my spec…that comes from the same dev.
people wont be happy when their favorite class and play style as dps was changed to a full time healer. you should understand that not anyone will just accept garbage like this because majority of the people who chose this class is not to heal but to kick butts and feel like they are baddazz, now its a healer lol! what a joke!
This is a MESS!! just in my opinion, basically all other elite specs are dps and then made ranger a full healer type which bothers me ALLOT!. ANET wants the ranger players to focus on healing when we chose this class solely because of its dps strength! so many class that are outclassing Rangers now and a/t and s/d are now boring. tried longbow condi just for fun and now the class that I like because its play style and dps are flushed down the toilet. I was hoping for an elite spec that can benefit on both support with a good assist on boosting dps or at least an offensive trait that can help utilize its strength even just 1. I can’t believe I am saying this but I guess I am done expecting good things from GW2 and time to stop playing again. I am not leaving just because they did not deliver what I want, I am stopping with GW2 because none of the elite made any changes beside to make most players look like an idiot to suddenly change their favorite class just because of the elite crap they made that is out of our style. thanks ANET for making me realize that this game is a waste of time.. who ever worked on druid should have never been hired, necros are gonna rule the game.
Suggestion: 'sniper' thief specialization
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I think off hand sword will be added since in the picture it makes more sense that thief had 2 sword on his belt. sorry to destroy your dreams muwahahahaha!
Just make warrior with a perma rampage like a brawler type. and no weapon. for ex. Elite Specialization, Perma Rampage a form of Juggernaut and whatever weapon they hold stays on their back and they use similar skills as Rampage mode. like a monk but would be called a brawler. I know the Elite Specialization has to be in same theme as the HoT so if Brawler does not fit in it then so up to them to find a name for it.
I know there is a class monk but I am just wondering if it’s possible to have a Warrior Elite Specialization that is similar to a monk but without weapon. I know warriors are masters of weapons but wouldn’t it be cool and surprising if Warrior actually fights with just fist like a permanent Rampage? I really love beating people with just fist, kicks, slams and charge. hoping there is still time for Warrior to get that as an awesome Specialization. or have the Rampage stay longer. those who agrees with a brawler warrior please raise your hands up XD
BTW if druids is their final answer for rangers then please at least make druids control pet more. like empowering pets and being able to summon two or something similar. since they want to continue on ranger’s path with pet class then make druid use pets as their skills so it can feel like playing as one with their pets.
I would like to recommend Ranger to be able to equip Rifles and be called something else. making rangers equip a stick does not click on its class since rangers are long ranged weapon user and should stick with it for a specialization skills. druid does not make good sense unless they can make rangers change forms into a half beast with it’s pets and harness the pet’s skills in addition to its own like a combo. being in the jungle should make rangers more sneaky, deadly and have good traps with a rifle. a wooden stick does not show any good future for rangers since they should become deadly in jungle and not a hermit……
