You only need to press the Run (‘R’ key) once to make your character run. Pressing R again will make him/her stop, as will W, A, S, or D keys.

Test it by deleting a friend? I would assume it’s a mutual relationship but I have encountered games that have that one-way friendship thing. It makes no sense.

It appears to be just you… where are the french forums exactly? I was positive that GW2 forums were English-specific.

Try clearing your cache and cookies, and restart your browser.

It’s still there and just now, I replicated the error on this topic.

Steps:
1- Scroll to the bottom of a topic until you see the reply box.
2- Type something in the box and click on preview.
3- Now scroll up and click on “Forum and Website Bugs” (as an example – this also works in other forums).
4- Now you should have the red bar that says you need to be a moderator to access the page.

Not sure if it’s a bug, but it’s hilarious!

As the title says, I’ve come across this many times.

It happens when I preview my post from the quick reply box at the bottom of the topic, and, without cancelling the preview, then click on the subforum title at the top.

Windows 8 has a notably faster boot time. Or so I’ve been told. The new metro interface is the new desktop. Microsoft really let the unicorns loose on this one. I felt the design was styled with tablets in mind; and really, that’s where the majority of the market is going these days. Microsoft has some catching up to do with folks like Apple and Samsung continuously verging ahead in the mobile industry.

The only advice I offer is learn to adapt. I’m not trying to sound malicious in any way but change is happening, whether we want it to or not.

On your character selection screen, at the bottom left there’s a button called “World Selection” (or something like that). Choose whichever server you want to move and hit “Transfer”.

Keep in mind though, if the server says that the Population is “Full” that means you can’t transfer in there at all. Not until it says anything other than “Full”.

Right-click on the armor or weapon and choose “Preview”.

I know for sure you can do this from your inventory, but unsure if you can do this in the TP. You can even preview items that your class can’t even wear (did this once, not sure if they fixed it).

If you’re having trouble making more than 3 silver a day, you seriously need to revamp your game plan.

On average, I can get 50s a day with dailies, achievement, story line, and the biggest money maker of all TP-ing. So I would say that 3-6 silver of repairs for dying, don’t make a scratch.

Edit: And I haven’t spent a single gem on this game.

Just because Windows can’t find a driver update, doesn’t mean there couldn’t be one. It’s always good to check on the manufacturer’s website just to be sure.

Halloween event’s been out for a week so people have had the chance to meet and exceed the supply and demand. Now what we have are extras that we can use ourselves or hope to make a tiny profit of taking a chance with the TP.

Complain when they start robbing you of real money to repair armors & weapons.

I concur. Instead of “Delete All”, it should be “Close” or “Cancel”.

This is not really related to the delete button issue at hand, but when you go to loot something, with a full inventory, and you move just one step forward, the loot window closes and the mob becomes un-lootable. This annoys me to no end.

Just make sure you choose to preserve your settings and files rather than do a clean install (which will wipe everything).

It’s either you have a failing/failed connection or the server you’re trying to log into has an excessive load and can’t log you in. I’m guessing on that last part but sounds plausible.

Have you tried updating the drivers via the manufacturer’s website since you first got it?

First is first. There is no “one of the first” if you’re not first to begin with. I never understood this expression.

There isn’t a way to download “just” the update outside of starting the game launcher.

The only other possible way to update the game is if someone provides you with an updated “gw2.dat” file (even then I’m not sure if it’s user specific). The game launcher will check that file to see if it has got all it needs to update the other game files.

I made a suggestion in the Suggestions forum for an option to manually patch the game, but it hasn’t garnered much attention.

Edited just to add my opinion on this matter:
I could care less if the level cap was raised, as long as there enough content to back it up. Honestly, how hard was it to get to 80? For the casual gamer like myself, it’s taking a long while, but I heard people reaching 80 within the first week of the game’s release. I’m pretty sure another 10 or 20 levels wouldn’t be unattainable.

My back button just did the same thing. Pressing back refreshed the page I was currently on. However, I had another strange occurrence happen not too long ago… I was reading a thread and pressed the back button and it logged me out. I wasn’t typing a reply, nor was I ‘inactive’ for more than 2 seconds. I pressed back and I was suddenly logged out.

I don’t know that you need a ton of RAM. For windows 7 machines, and seeing how RAM is somewhat cheap these days, I would have 8 GB.

Not sure on what Vista was limited to for 32 bit. I would max that out though.

Windows Vista/7 32-bit can support a limit of 4 GB. The 64-bit versions can support a substancially higher amount, depending on the version of the OS (i.e. Professional, Ultimate, etc).

If you’re updating just now, it could be network and server strain. The update is for the Halloween event that just started this week.

Now is peak time for most of America. Kiddies just got out of school and people are getting or have got off work.

You downloaded the wrong one. Is your computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

It’s around 600MB or so. The 5% is for the patch to complete downloading and installing.

Are your drivers up to date?

I noticed people having issues with patching via the game launcher and I was hoping ArenaNet would consider providing a manual patch for the game as an option?

I apologized if this has been addressed elsewhere.

Edit: I chose not to post it in the Game Improvement stickied at the top since I believe this issue is best addressed in the public eye so that everyone can see it (and not simply as “another reply” to a post).

Obvious questions, but have you tried logging out then logging in? Or closing the game client and restarting it?

Duplicate the screen instead of extending it. You will have the same thing displayed on both screens but your mouse will surely stay in the game. I’m being serious. If your attention is going to be solely on the game for the time being, disable dual monitors or duplicate it. There are solutions and work-arounds. ArenaNet isn’t going to cave to one man (or woman)’s request to fix something that can be fix by implementing something else.

The part underlined in red, in the attachment, annoys me. I keep accidentally clicking it thinking it will take me to forums main page, but it takes me to the game’s homepage instead. I’m just automatically used to the format of other forums.

However, the Guild Wars 2 image logo links to the main forums. I found this quite funny because, shouldn’t that be the opposite? The image should link to the game’s homepage, the “Guild Wars 2” text should link to the forums’ main page?

This is just a minor rant, if you will. :p

Well, another option is to use third party software to control the movements of the cursor. Look up DDMM (dual display mouse manager) if you’re interested.

[s]The motherboard video port is the one that is usually vertical. The one for the graphics card is usually horizontal (your card will have 2 DVI ports).

Are all connections securely in place? Cables properly inserted?

If yes to cables, open the case and make sure the card is inserted properly (i.e. it’s not popping up on one end or loose).

If everything is secured, my next step would be to try booting without the video. Take it out and see if you can boot without it.[/s]

Which port are you pluggin the monitor into? The one on the board or the one on the card?

Did the company install Windows (or any OS) onto the machine before sending it to you?
