I believe the minimum ram for Windows 7 is actually 4gb, but i could be wrong. Windows XP minimum is 2gb, I think.
Eh, almost. The maximum amount of RAM for 32-bit versions of Windows 7 and Windows XP is 4 GB. The 64-bit versions can support 8 GB of RAM of more up to 192 GB, depending on the product (i.e. Windows 7 Starter x64 can support at max, 8 GB of RAM).
GMT = Greenwich Mean Time
Google it.
20:00 GMT = 8:00 PM GMT (12:00 PM PST/ 3:00 PM EST – or 2:00 PM? I’m all messed up due to daylight savings)
upgrading to x64 from x32 won’t cost you single dime.
Except an entirely new processor…
why’s that?
A 32-bit processor cannot run a 64-bit operating system. The architecture is completely different. However a 32-bit operating system can run on a 64-bit processor, but you will be limited to 32-bit applications.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Duel-System-Inspect-and-Mounts
It’s been suggested before. I’m not against the idea but I don’t see a reason for mounts to be implemented.
I wouldn’t mind a “remember me” check box for those that want a permanent, open session. However, to make this a “no choice, you’re logged in forever” thing, it would introduce many security holes.
I hope you meant the former. :P
so i tell you what player i am
i love magic any kind
i dont like to walk around much ore dodge
i need high damege the faster i can kill mobs the beter so i can fast go on
and not walk in circles around him and damege him and say kitten die already
also need to kill mobs a few lvls higher then me and not having a hard time to keep my self alive
I don’t mean to sound rude, but try and learn to dodge. If you intend to play a squishy mage class, I highly recommend it, as it can save you in sticky situations. If you’re in combat mode, you’ll notice that you run slightly slower. Dodging (rolling as I like to call it) while running away from mobs that can shoot you, gives you that extra distance (if mobs continue to shoot you, you’ll stay in combat mode, therefore you’ll run slower).
With that said, I also recommend the Necro class as others have suggested before me. These are my pros and cons in regards to the class:
Pros
- Decent HP pool
- Lifesteal/Heals
- “Invincible” mode
- Conditions (watching mobs bleed to death lol)
- Minions
Cons
- Minions are weak or highly aggro’d
- Our 1-shot attack isn’t very strong
- Area targetting can be tricky while moving
- “I can outrun a centaur.”
Yeah, I too am now having this error (it wasn’t present the day of my previous post). My settings are set to never remember my history so, not a caching issue anymore.
Came here expecting a video. Left disappointed…
You couldn’t think of a name that isn’t Legolas?
anything that dies when you hit it, although not things like rabbits
They do, actually.
The number of times I’ve triggered the “kill variety” daily from a rabbit or squirrel or whatever being too close to combat is pretty high. So I tend to kill them when I’m running about now just because I can.
Odd, I never noticed such a thing. I’d shoot a rabbit every now and then but don’t see it counting for my kill variety (kill count maybe?).
Dell also produces the Alienware line of laptops. Have a look at them as well (heard decent reviews about the M17x).
Also, why a laptop over a desktop?
Not at the moment.
Lavaerna. Nothing special, just tried to enter random names and hoping something clicked.
My next options were going to be:
Lavyrna
Laverna Hymn
I almost did the same thing to an unfortunate soul last night.
I was running out of a cave, being trailed by a group of mobs (-cough- thanks for pulling them flesh golem -cough-) and at the mouth of the cave, there were trees on both sides. I was making my exit by turning right and just as I did, this person dropped down the side of the hill just as the mobs lost aggro on me. I turned around abruptly, but thankfully, the mobs never caught onto him and I saw him running freely to the opposite side of the hill.
Accidents like the one I described above can happen, but it’s those people that don’t stop to help that are the real jerks.
Try clearing your cache and refreshing the page.
“Take aim. Hold….. Hold…. Fire! Not bad, not bad at all.”
I have to remember to avoid that area entirely as the Rifle training NPC annoys the kittens out of me.
I got shot by a basilisk and got frozen like this. This is one of the lesser awkward shots.
This may sound like a silly question but, are you running the game while on battery power or plugged in with a charger?
I use two passwords that were randomly generated for a game I played so often it made it easy to memorise them.
Same. I currently go through different variations of my 4 random generated passwords.
Necromancer minions need improvements. I’ve completely abandonned the minion build I had going and am now going straight conditions.
Back when I had the minion build, maybe I was doing something wrong, but it felt like I was spending more time, and my entire focus, on keeping my minion alive, than trying to play my class. In a few hits, the minion was out for the count, leaving me with 3-4 mobs to deal with (originally dealt with 1-2 mobs but minion pulled them before he died). I kept trying new builds but it ultimately came down to scrapping the minion (for now).
Minions also need an interface like a Ranger’s pet has. I’ve had minions run off to kill something that hit it without any way to call him back.
I said it before in another thread, use Red Cross.
/auction or a /trade chat option would work fine.
It’s a really “iffy” search system. You can’t even view all the search results; you’re only limited to 20 results.
Two words: Red Cross.
If you get a third-party company involved with relief efforts, there’s not a doubt that they won’t keep a portion of the profits for themselves. I’ve seen some game companies’ attempt at charitable work and it is less than charitable, for the charities anyway. The worst one, I recall, had given less than 2% of the funds collected to its respected charity.
People were reporting signs of nostalgia overload since the end of the Halloween event. I’m grateful to ANet for making this a high priority.
It’s a real word (although it will begin to sound weird if you say it repeatedly).
I prefer to use the word ‘equips’ for equipment instead of ‘gears’, but they generally mean the same thing.
Because it’s only available through PvP. Hence, “PvP Masquerade Armor”.
You mean this?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Masquerade_armor
It’s on the Wiki.
The server you choose to be on affects all your characters. You have the option to transfer to another server once per week.
Positive you’re not just tapping ‘R’ by mistake? Have you tried unassigning the auto-run key (i.e. leaving it blank)?
i would like a personal and private damage/healing meter.
Im a full condition ranger,, and i dont have any idea how much damage im doing.
Watch your screen for numbers. Green numbers means heal, white is your damage, and red is the damage that’s being inflicted on you.
There’s also combat logging you can enable in the chat window.
In regards to this idea, I am against it for reasons already stated.
Some people tend to take PvP over the top. There’s hardcore and then there’s bat-poop crazy. They act as though one death on their team is a loss, or that person can’t play properly cause they died once, therefore that person is less likely to join in any raids/zergs/whatnots. That’s just being a downright bully. I don’t condone nor support that kind of treatment.
I’ll admit, I am a PvE’er, however, that doesn’t mean that I won’t go WvW and chuck a few spells at other players. Will I be good at it? No, since I don’t practice PvP’ing (although I am getting better at dodging!), but don’t go bashing me because I can’t PvP “properly” or “the way you want it”.
Sorry for the mild rant.
As far as I’ve gotten into the game, I would say midway, I am discovering it to be a bit like many of the free MMOs that I’ve encountered. Of course there are some features that set it apart from them, but the difference isn’t too mind-blowing.
I’m one of the very casual players; I play when I have the time to. That being said, I spend most of my time exploring because along with the lore, I enjoy the view and scenery (especially those from the vistas). My urge to explore keeps me in the game as well as the story (no matter how cheesy/angsty it can get).
Just going to add that I haven’t played GW1 and can’t make any comparisons.
So I was browsing a topic when I encountered a couple of problems.
Notice in the screenshot that there are two links for “Forum”. It’s a bug but I’m not sure what to call it… redirect error? page reload error? IDK.
Another problem is that, in that same topic, the second page loads blank.
It might be due to a user’s misformatting of his or her post that a mod might soon correct.
“Just another reason of how great I am.”
“Is it just me, or am I amazing?”
My necro is greatly egotistic.
There’s also a default tab in the chat window labelled, ‘Combat’.
I still see candycorn nodes pop up in my side vision (and on my minimap) only to disappear moments later.
And I thought I was the only one hallucinating.
Are you logging in with the main site or through the forums?
I noticed that when I log into the main site, sometimes it doesn’t log me into the forums so I have to log in twice. This issue could be totally unrelated to yours though, so I’m not sure.
I like taking screenshots, as simple as that, and no, dragging them into a different folder or renaming the folder makes no difference whatsoever, either of these require me to actually put the game on hold. When I am in the middle of a major event or big boss fight, I cannot afford to alt+tab my game just to go fix a full screenshots folder.
Then do it while you’re not on the game or doing anything important?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Voice_actor
It lists Michael Dorn as the voice for a male Norn.
In short, most permalinks don’t work properly.
I see mods try to link to Colin’s post about the botting issue but it never works for me (doesn’t bring me to the correct page, nor the correct post).
Take for example the topic in question:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Lets-talk-about-that-GW2-Article-on-Gamespy/first
The last five permalinks on the first page take you to the top of page 2.
The next 2 up (above the bottom 5) take you to the bottom of the current page.
The last five permalinks on the page 2 take you to the top of page 3.
The next 2 up (above the bottom 5) take you to the bottom of the current page.
So on and so forth.
Sorry if my explanations are a little fuzzy.
Gonna take a guess at this but, for human female mesmers, I believe it’s the Masquerade ensemble. Is that the one you were looking at?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Masquerade_armor
What? It’s there.
The CSS file isn’t being hosted on the GW2 site (the link that you posted). It’s being hosted offsite (on cloudnet) and being pulled from there. It looks like a one-liner if you vew it in Firefox’s “View Source”.

I could be wrong but isn’t taking advantage of the botters, against the rules/ToS? Perhaps I’m getting confused with another game…
You also forgot that their names usually consist of random letters as a result of letting their cats prance all over the keyboard.
You have to wait until it becomes “un-full”.
Edit — Also this announcement:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Free-World-Transfers-Limited-to-Once-Every-7-Days
@Khairos “I do a lot of PVE and don’t understand how this “punishes PVErs.” I’ve never had to leave my server at all.”
I too, don’t feel any drastic effects of this change at all.
I haven’t progressed too far into the game but, I’m loving my Necromancer. I’m not playing for glory or even bothering to spend her trait points correctly(lol). I’m choosing to go in blind and find out what works for myself, & reskill/-trait, if I must, later on.
For the moment, the crowd-control and support setup works fine for me. I have 3-4 AoEs that I use regularly, each with healing/life-leeching benefits. The minion I choose to summon is my Bone Fiend (looks like a scorpion) since his hold skill works wonders with my fear skill, while I kite away at the mob. If you haven’t gotten it by now, my weapon of choice is a staff. My secondary weapon of choice is a dagger + whatever decent off-hand I can get.
As for tanking goes or being able to take a few hits, I’m managing quite well. As stated my AoEs of choice have healing or life-leeching benefits of some sort so being against melee mobs, aren’t too strenuous.
Traits (currently – with some points unspent):
10 in Curses
5 in Blood Magic
Skills (currently – again, some points unspent):
Summon Bone Fiend
Well of Blood
Signet of the Locust (speed is good – I hate running slow)
Well of Suffering
It has to do with the fonts you have on your machine versus what the game is set to display. I’m not too savvy on fonts (or fixing them) so, perhaps someone can elaborate further into this.
