SoN rez and Lick wounds both dont work when on a slope. when downed player and pet are on a different elevation, the heals and rez simply dont work. easily reproducible bug (happens every time reliably).

the new map is owned by the status quo meta. no room for anything but guards, mesmers and eles. same crap is same crap.

most of us are so disappointed by the lack of build variety that the mists simply wont rebound this time around. i have no reason to play really, when im fighting the exact same builds.

any news on spirit rework/buffs? nobody is slotting these things.

There is no matchmaking in Hot Join (PvP Browser) matches. Matchmaking only exists in tournament matches, and it is based on your rating (a hidden value), not your Rank.

when are you removing hotjoin? this is a serious question as it’s a serious issue. this game is hardly even balanced around 5v5. 8v8 is unbearable, noobs shouldnt be playing it, and you shouldnt be fragmenting the pop in this way.

yup. the more they copy dota2/lol, the better off we will be to be honest. these systems work. with tournaments, we absolutely need to have punishment on leavers. at least some kind of disincentive. it’s not even a debate.

at this point, we just need to buff other builds i guess. the problem is, this didnt happen since beta. we’ve been stuck on the same builds for what seems like an eternity.

the new map (not even bothering to learn its name) does absolutely nothing but accentuate the problem at hand:

i do appreciate the creation of this map. perhaps now we will realize that no matter what little twist we add to conquest, the craptastic meta that has been here for 6 months remains. thank you for that.

yup, will be switching to nightmare. thanks Xsorus. i updated the youtube vids with the actual builds. the only unique one is the trap bomber build as seen at the end of the second vid.

my friend who mains a d/d ele says the nerfs didnt affect him one bit, similar to what Powerr is saying. maybe because theyre both great players, but still. this was obviously not enough.

yea this was kitten ridiculous. completely unnecessary. now instead of cleansing that burning and 10 stacks of bleeds, i’ll be cleansing weakness and some other useless crap from the 6 conditions that might be on me.

thing is, the nerf wouldnt be so bad if we got some decent buffs lol.

Path of scars on my power/precision/crit damage armor set did 2000 per hit, and it hits twice. Now it gets to do 8000 on double crits. The dagger is hardly mediocre, it gives you a dodge, cripple and two long lasting strong condition damage.

nobody slots shouts and spirits. i was hoping we’d see the spirit buff this patch. but once again, i was disappointed. i made tons of constructive threads delineating why spirits and shouts are terrible. anyone out there wanna give us some hope, something to look forward to? any kind of dialogue with devs would be nice.

also, what about pets? JP you said youve made some small tweaks, which were welcome, and also stated that you have a lot more work to do on improving pet reliability. is this still on the agenda?

any updates on this? i thought this was the patch for it. is it coming with the wvw patch? Bueller?

Ive been using this build for a while after khalifa gave it to me when I was moaning on the forums. It’s a lot of fun but u gotta know what youre doing. You’re like a thief with more utility and no stealth.

I wanna take this build into wvw. Knight stats arent the same in pve. Any gear suggestions?

will 8v8 hotjoin be removed? please say it will.

if you observe Xsorus’ last vid (volume eight), you can see how unreliable drakes are. they seem to have the worst F2 that does not track targets when they move. the on-demand blast finisher on the HS might be nice, but ultimately youre giving up too much dps and vigor. maybe he can explain the advantages better.

cats do excellent dps on a crippled/immobilized target, which i demonstrated a few times in the vids. muddy terrain, spike trap, immobilize. many times i wished i had my jag pouncing on the immobilized target. they have a much higher attack speed and crit very often. a stealthed jag does good burst dps. ultimately though, double raven is absolute best for attrition play.

runes of Dwayna on the Cleric bunker because his damage is bad anyway, runes of Undead on the condition bunker. im still thinking about it, but i may go Dwayna on the condition bunker…just dont feel ready to give up 250 condition damage.

my gear right now is a mess for the condition bunker. i use VHC exo armor (shaman) and green THC accessories (apothecary). i’m working toward apoth armor and shaman accessories so i can maximize the stats.

i dont play the cleric bunker because i cant contribute much to my guild. roaming with it is fun, but getting kills on good players without two ravens is an arduous process. if you take more than 2-3mins to kill someone, you most often get zerged.

im seriously considering switching the snow owl for the jaguar. cats have much, much better sustained dps and i feel like i need that sometimes. half the time, my birds are fluttering about doing nothing, and their low attack speed makes things worse. their only real purpose is the burst, and a bit of vigor.

thanks for watching. spvp is reduntant imo. i play a 0/10/30/10/20 bunker in tpvp, it’s a well known build. in 5v5, youre almost never facing more than two opponents at a time. so holding the point is significantly easier compared to what i do in wvw.

given the upcoming patch, i’ll be back in spvp for at least a little while and will make some footage might be interesting to some given the trap fotm.

some sort of condition/crit hybrid is my next project, and SB/GS synergize really well together. you’ll need 30 in skirmishing but bear in mind you’ll be kinda squishy without any points in wilderness survival. so maybe something like 0/30/20/0/20 and knight’s gear.

I run my tanky pvp trap setup with healing spring and spirit of nature. As long as there arent other condition specs in the group, my ranger gets lots of love. Quickness rez ftw.

I wouldn’t mind a small traps nerf if we got a signet, shout and spirit buff past the point of uselessness.

Depends on what prof/spec ive just killed. Ill taunt a shatter mesmer, d/p thieves and d/d ele cuz playing these specs is borderline cheating and all the good pvpers know it. Only anet is to blame though. Cant hate on players who use these soft exploits but u can suggest they pick up a more skill-based spec, I.e. stop facerolling and get some skills.

Your troll is showing. Perhaps you can try using reason to contribute to the discussion and explain why mist distortion and stealth stomps are less powerful than quickness stomps.

Not sure what youre saying. In a team fight, someone always has an invuln or stealth. If a thief downed you in a teamfight his defensive cds will always be up. Distortion is always available. Mist form and elixir may not be available but it depends on how the fight was going.

As I said the only finishers that are broken are the ones you cant do anything about. So ele mist, mesmer distortion, engie elixir, thief invis. Things you cant do anything about dont belong in competitive pvp

It’s easy to interrupt a quickness finish if u have an inkling of awareness and speed. Your mates should be focusing him in turn. Whats the problem?

The only finishers that are broken are stealth and invulnerability finishers. Quickness finishers you can easily react to, and stability stomps u can just focus fire. So ele mesmer thief and engie are the problen

I think downed state can be a lot of fun at times. It adds a whole new dimension

While I dont have issue personally on my bunker ranger and glass cannon guard, the thief just isnt fun to fight against for newer players. Nobody should be able to put out more than 8-10k on a squishy. Both mesmer and thief burst needs to be toned down for a more enjoyable experience. Culling makes thieves pretty ridiculous in wvw

all this game needs for esports is 1. ladder, 2. spectator mode, 3. 10x more build variety. it’s very fun to watch. most importantly, balancing is going very poorly. 6 months and we’re still in the same garbage meta with the same 6-7 garbage builds dominating both tpvp and wvw. theyre gently swatting at the problem when they need to whack it with a bat. otherwise, we’ll be in the same place till 2014. not to mention we wont be able to enjoy any new weapons or profs until the original mess is sorted

im excited for balancing (hoping to see the aoe and ele nerfs) and guild missions. that being said i know i will be disappointed by the former.

Yeah im really stoked about HoTS. That being said my friends and I are still having a blast in wvw. We started off strong in spvp but just got kinda bored. With the new patch we have no reasons to go into the mists. Im rank 34 and unless I see ladders soloq and improved rewards im sticking with wvw.
