+1. the advertised bread ‘n’ butter of GW2, the DE’s, need some serious tweaks/buffs. im only about 30 levels in, but i havent died in a DE yet and found their difficulty to be trivial. and as mentioned, they need to be especially harder for ranged specs.
I think scaling should be seriously looked it, most Dynamic Events I’ve come across are impossible to fail when there are more than 5 players around. Boss fights in particular only get more boring as the number of players increases. If you could find it in your hearts to give bosses some insane AoE abilities that they only use when there’s a zerg attacking them, that would be great. Centaurs also have a very cool charge attack that knocks everyone down, that would also be good vs a player zerg
Gives everyone a reason to dodge and move.
this exactly. fully agreed.
Clearly this doesn’t apply to level-capped players, but have you considered targeting content at a higher level than your character? I prefer difficult content, so personally I tend to look for content that’s 2 levels higher than my own.
im doing the same, and it’s great for hearts. but when it comes to DE’s…theyre simply too trivial, albeit really cool mostly.
so far so good on my guardian and engie. mind you, i planned on maining a ranger, and i left him sitting at level 7. just wasnt feeling the class personally. i felt disconnected from both my pet, and nature-based magic (main reasons for wanting to play one). mind you, the marksmanship abilities of the ranger were well-executed – just felt too much like a ranged and nimble warrior.
two things, i’ll get right to the point:
- i went back to the lower lvl zones on my 30 guardian to complete the maps; im basically 2-3 shotting mobs and i feel like im ruining others’ experience. please nerf the down-leveled characters in low level zones
- out of the 40-50 DE’s ive done, half a dozen were challenging. maybe there werent enough mobs, not sure, but most are a breeze. also, DE scaling is off in large groups, as you may have read on the forums already. it’s next to impossible to die (unless youre melee) with so many around you. buff mobs in every event, especially in large boss fights
You open more of the forums here, and the forums on MMORPG.com turn nearly completely to GW2 haters. I guess that says volumes about people getting sick of all the bashing that this game has taken.
i couldnt wait to leave mmorpg.com’s forums. i wanted to discuss this game without getting my face chewed off.
the scepter is amazing, especially in pvp. however, i really hate its visuals.
traits: +20% damage to burning enemies, VoJ = 3 stacks of might
charge up your #4 = 12 stacks of might
set mobs on fire
???
profit
Hammer love is already in the works!
u serious? hammer is already amazing, and my favourite guardian weapon. im excited now.
the way i see large events like this one is this:
-the “boss” needs to act like a turret, buffer/debuffer of his minions
-it is ESSENTIAL that adds specific to the boss spawn frequently and that they are challenging; the boss is fought in between these waves
without significant add spawns, the boss will always be a pushover. these things look epic, but i did not buy the game just for the DE’s. so it’s forgivable. but the scaling needs to be fixed.
DE tweaks need to be a priority.
a lot of DE’s need adjustments. they just dont scale well.
good elementalists are a force to be reckoned with in spvp. it’s a high skillcap profession. please spend some time with it before demanding buffs. even when you cant get the hang of it, please dont ask for buffs, because the rest of us love where the profession is at.
