i dont think LB and GS is a viable combination. however, LB with a melee evasion tank (sword/dagger) is. piercing arrows and signet of the beastmaster are essential, but you need Marksmanship maxed anyway, as LB builds are all power/crit based.
oh and Protect Me is great, at least for my SB build. i have 15 in BM, so i can swap pets faster and the shout is on a shorter CD. i would actually recommending something like 30/20/5/0/15 if you wanna play LB. swap pets for more quickness.

TSW is also incredibly unbalanced and this comes with too many abilities. Limits are a good thing. TSW is also a gear treadmill and all you will be doing is endlessly grinding for better stats exactly like WoW is still today…BORING… I am so glad Anet grew a set and made this game different and actually fun.
False. See GW1. Tons of skills, good balance.
Everything else has nothing to do with skills.
nope. GW1 required no skill to play the OP builds. it was hands down one of the worst pvp MMO’s with virtually no balance. as bad as WoW. it was a mess, and GW2 is superior in just about every way.
if you dont pvp, you have little reason to stay in GW2. pretty much comes down to that. the PVE content is excellent for me (best ive seen in an MMO), as ive only gotten through half of it roughly. for those who burn through PVE at a faster pace, you can play other games.
GW2 is the pvp’ers MMO with WvW and spvp being superb. i hope they prioritize these aspects of the game, in addition to building on dynamic events.
the only prof that requires a bit of tweaks in spvp is the mesmer. currently, pro mesmers are impossible to beat. they have no weakness really. rest are fine imho.
nope. im glad theyre ruining farming for u.
there’s a reason i didnt do endgame PVE in WoW. i tried grinding heroic dungeons but they were mind-numbingly easy. raids were the same, except there was a gear threshold to do a given encounter. making scripted scenarios challenging and fresh for multiple runs is very challenging. my vote is to at least keep explorable dungeons reasonably difficult for the novelty to last longer. so that there’s at least some struggle, and a reason to keep trying.
im a big fan of randomly generated content, like in Global Agenda’s instances. you never truly know what you’re gonna get, but it ends up working out in the end.
ultimately, PVE is always gonna be a snoozefest after a while. this is why GW2’s resources need to be prioritized for DE’s and WvW expansion. dynamic content is amazing and i see huge potential in it, as long as the scaling is fixed.

sure, but if you get immobilized, and you will, youre dead. sword/dagger gives you 3 dodges. dagger #4 is one of the best defensive abilities in the game imo…you evade everything in melee range for the entire duration of the animation. 100b and thief initiative dump included.
maybe it’s just me…but i dont feel rooted when i use the sword =S
exotics are for looks as much as they are for stats. if the stats suck, just transmute. otherwise i think youre looking for that stat grind reward that just isnt there.
this is a very annoying bug in spvp. halfway through a match im scratching my head thinking why im doing so poorly. then i’ll realize that my adept/master trait slots have been reset to nothing. this happens on both my guardian and ranger. fix plox and thanks.
you dont need crit. just go straight power, pet and survivability. sb/sword/dagger. u cant die, and u do above average dps.
axes are amazing
sounds like a good idea. using melee in wvw is only useful for cc’ing runners.
^ not a bad point, but at the very least they need to adjust scaling. currently, half of the DE’s i completed didnt even scale properly to our large groups.
481 hours in, and I am still having a blast.
lol wow. i just passed the 200 mark…for some reason im playing more now =P
This is exactly what caused me to quit SWTOR. Then TSW. I think a big part of it is, honestly, the fact that you can solo 95% of the content in the game.
you cant solo any of the pvp, which is like 50% of the game. this isnt a PVE-only game…GW2 is known for its pvp, like its predecessor. the PVE is above average. we just need more content.
i can’t see anything!
lol! i disabled these shoulders on my guardian. his face clips into them when he holds the hammer.
improve downleveling (make it more challenging)
improve DE scaling
improve rewards when downleveled
fix old bugs
add new DE’s
problem solved. you have a world that feels alive. as long as people have a reason to go back. right now, there is none. dungeons are nice, but i aint grinding Orr and dragons with bad AI.
borderlands 2 and waiting to see if anet listens to the community and is able to turn this around.
turn what around? the game’s success? i hope not. that being said, i eagerly await the next patch. nothing in the game is fundamentally broken. maybe a few more patches and they should be good to go on the new content.
currently, im leveling my ranger in wvw. leveling my main guardian in pve. doing spvp on both. no time for crafting, just exploration.
not sure what you mean. im in a small wvw guild and we roam in groups of 10 taking down towers, supply camps, and pve objectives. plenty of small gang fighting on the map, and you contribute a ton.
you are not alone in the sense that you and some others stubbornly refuse to l2p WvW.
except that the biggest endgame piece for GW2, WvW, is working more or less perfectly and people are eating it up like dessert.
oh and GW2 doesnt have a countdown until funds run out. the game was and is mad profitable as b2p/rmt. the countdown to doom is getting old fast, so stop it.
in terms of content, what you’re getting: a dynamic event content live team, upcoming xpacs, and an entire tpvp package for esports (replays, maps, balancing, etc.). this is what’s confirmed.

please make it look like the wolf has actual fur on it. it’s too smooth and reflects way too much light, making it look plastic. also, it’s tail appears limp. my dog’s tail does not look that way.
(edited by nerva.7940)
it doesnt really matter to us what prof is played the least/most. they’ll collect the metrics and interpret the data appropriately. in my opinion, classes are nicely balanced atm. good mesmers are a horrible pain though.
Just feel like mentioning. The only real problem with Capricorn is the underwater combat in pvp. It sucks that as I go underwater, my guardian has ridiculously less survivability.
u gotta be kidding. my guard is the only prof i love going under water with. i stay at ruins all game to guarantee a win, usually taking on up to 3 opponents at a time. the trident and spear were superbly designed. arguably better than some land weapons.

This game is far from “game of the year” just thinking that is silly.
actually, no. more likely than not, it will get the award. too many things about it are good.
how is BL2 GOTY? why are you trolling?
the game has PLENTY of content. you just didnt do most of it. as far as MMO goes, this is as polished as MMO’s get on release. see you in a few months! (personally, i wouldnt wanna be in Orr right now, luckily im far from it…hoping it and DE’s are fixed by the time i hit 80).
i would like to see spirits being viable.
because it’s an MMO. gw2 is just getting started baby!
Not by a long shot. You’ve got Trine 2, Torchlight 2, and Borderlands 2 which all offered significant improvement over their predecessors, against Guild Wars 2, which has taken two steps backward for every step forward and is severely lacking in major areas such as camera options, performance, and risk vs reward balancing.
never heard of Trine 2; TL2 and BL2, as stated by pretty much everyone, simply refine what the first games did. therefore, nothing innovative.
GW2 innovates not on one game, but on the entire genre. it doesnt do one thing differently, it does everything differently. arguably, it does everything better.
yeah it’s funny. gw2 really shows that gamers come from many different walks of life. im 200 hours in, not skipping any content, my main is lvl 50 and have two more lvl 30 alts. i also think i can get another 150-200 hours out of PVE alone, not counting dungeons. i think ive logged the same number of hours this week compared to the first week.
people who are complaining either played way too fast, and completed everything legitimately, just sacrificed their RL. or rushed through the world to hit 80 and chase nonexistent carrots. either approach seems unwise to me, but i cant tell people how to play their game.
If you are interested in helpinkittenrove this game, please send me a PM, as I am currently working on several projects to overhaul the game and improve it’s play-ability.
i suggest you try to learn the current combat mechanics a little better, instead of trying to design your own game. i think youre misunderstanding a number of things. i skimmed over some of your post, and at one point i think i read that you think melee is UP. kinda cringed at that, as ive been playing a hammer guardian in all areas of pve and pvp with good effect.
well thats nice. ive been wantin to play the new ME3 content and finish Sleeping Dogs, but i just cant get myself to play anything other than GW2. games without good pvp bore me. i think i may have invested about 30 hours into D3, which definitely wasnt worth the money. and smalltime games like TL2 and BL2 wont really hold anyone over for long. theyre meant to be burned through in a few days.
i may take a break, but for different reasons than yourself.
(edited by nerva.7940)
theyre actually not opinions. im just clarifying the facts to you.
Still going at it are we Stark. Please stop kidding yourself!
sPVP has four maps, one game mode, and is unbalanced class wise – unplayable after a short while!
gw2’s pvp, while not perfect, is the most balanced on the market currently. stop trying to faceroll like you do in BL2.
WvW has very long queue times so out goes any casual players almost immediately, people don’t want to wait around for hours.
queue times are bearable, and wvw is the mokittenn myself and thousands of others have had in pvp. the fact that queues exist speaks for itself.
Dungeons you have to stand around shouting out in map chat to attempt to find a group to begin with, nothing more needed to say on that matter.
so? dungeons are skill-based and fun. the best alternative is being a part of a community, i.e. a GUILD
World Boss encounter? Ok do that once, job done.
at least this game has world bosses. theyve already acknowledged the scaling issues.
Achievements, I mean really, why? It’s a virtual number going up with no relevance. Nobody can see them, they serve no purpose, so just why?!
achievements give you significant xp. nice try.
Maxing crafting levels serves no purpose what so ever either, the main reason for the majority are so you can craft exotic gear…
unlike other games, crafting levels you up. therefore, it has a very specific and important purpose. and if you craft a couple of rares/exotics on the way up, then all the better
To sum it up, this game doesn’t have a carrot on a stick, nor does it have any replayability or any fun factor once level 80 has been reached
thanks for YOUR opinion. sounds to me like u need to go back to BL2 and stop trolling our forums.
Protect Me, the similar signet, dodge, SB’s daze, dagger’s #4 evade, many different options. also, toughness.
once he blows his load, it’s easy to kill.
(edited by nerva.7940)
^ that pretty much. you cant button mash the sword. it has a really nice flow to it if you know how to time your attacks.
nevermind, it’s a whale. nice touch.
bye, you’ll be back. in fact, you are your fianceeee are probably playing right now.
he’s here because it’s b2p and has access to the forums. likely he’s stilly playing the game and likely he’s gotten 200+ hours worth of fun from it, and is now whining cuz he can.
im also “endgaming” in wvw. big reason why i bought the game. i cant imagine PVE grinding forever.
gj devs, keep up the hard work. lots to do but youre doing great. it was a very ambitious project.
no. sword is great. in fact, you can leap between targets like a ninja, on demand, once u get the hang of switching on the fly. just take it off autoattack people.
i think theyre just too busy working on fixes =P
anyway, here’s one more. bows always clip in this position, through any long coat. i have a swindler’s coat equipped in this shot:
ive started putting together a vid. should be done in a few days, will update soon.
progression was never fun to me. it was always a chore so i could get to the “real” thing. i enjoy looking forward to aesthetic upgrades. becoming more powerful through gearing stinks. this is probably just me….
dungeons are brilliant. my main is lvl 51 so ive only done 3, and enjoyed them thoroughly. i just started immersing myself in WvW and im loving it. definitely the “endgame” for me., in addition to tpvp.
so my motivation? still having just as much fun as on day 1…im a little worried that i may be playing too much, but ive been waiting for this for 4 years.
for me, there’s way too much to do. the people who have devoured the game and are currently bored, what can i say…i just have a different approach: detailed completion of all content, and pacing.
BL2 and TL2 arent even close to GOTY because theyre not innovative, and theyre shallow. but very good quality and fun.
ME3 – unlikely, but it will be a contender. honestly, i just dont see anything else matching GW2 so far this year in terms of quality and quantity of content and innovation.
rangers may be seen as boring by you, but balance-wise, theyre in a very good shape. ive crushed many opponents that werent “mouthbreathers”.
