switched around the build.

it’s so people don’t pick races in s/tPVP based on what racials they provide. remember the whole schtick about everyone and their mother rolling undead in WoW because WotF? human once they changed their racial to be decent?
ANet wanted to prevent that, so, they simply made racials unuseable in s/tPVP. you can still use them in WvW.
it takes whoever’s bleed does the highest damage and uses that to calculate the damage of the “stack” as far as i know. so, if your bleed does, say, 100 damage per tick and the other persons does 80, it’ll use 100 for the damage, but his bleed will keep it up.
at least, that’s how i think it works anyway.
what are the legitimate ANet email addresses?

i know guildwars2@ncsoft.com is one.
is noreply@guildwars2.com one? i received an email about my password trying to be changed, blah, blah, blah, but, it was automatically sent to spam rather then my inbox. it’s also labeled differently.
the pre-purchase email and the recent “upgrade to digital deluxe edition” are labeled “The Guild Wars 2 Team” while the one in my spam was labeled “ArenaNet”. obv, i didn’t click the link or anything dumb, but, i’m curious if it was a legitimate email so i could use to check and see if anyone tried accessing my account.
nothing actually happened. i even check my account security to see if there have been any login attempts or successful logins. so far, none. all it shows is my one, singular location.
This is what happens when your server has a horrible over night force.

that’s what happens to borlis pass.
we do fine (against servers that don’t completely outpopulate us) during the day, but then night rolls around, i wake up and see we’re horribly down in points. sad times.
i’ve been running a 0/0/30/30/10 build and been doing well in PVP. my damage isn’t that great… but my survivability is glorious. i’ve been able to 1v1 every single class… although, i don’t try and 1v1 purposely, ofc. sPVP is about playing as a team.
try it out. i use the medkit/elixir H, bomb kit, elixir gun and elixir s with supply crate. undead runes slotted, water/crit sigil with shaman amulet.
pair bomb kit with elixir-infused bombs.
it’s pretty beast. with backpack regenerator and elixir-infused bombs, i heal for around 400-500 a second, roughly. i’d be more if we could keep our weapon stats or sigils…
it takes a surprising amount of finesse to make the bomb kit work well and work right. sometimes, it is just fire and forget, but other times, it can be tricky.
engineers need it.
elementalists and guardians don’t.
bump.
for great justice.
WvWpvp- It’s pretty much copy paste from Aion sieges… nothing new just boring and imbalanced groups.
Anet promised no Grind which was another misleading (crazy amounts of tokens requierment, boring quests (Decent story line) boring and long World dragon fights etc… If you don’t want players to grind lower amount of tokens needed for level 80 gear and increase difficulty of level 80 dunegons.
Combat is not melee friendly This is what every single melee is gonna agree on. Take Arrah for example or some of dragon fights. You get hit by spell damage for retardly high amount that I feel like my warrior is wearing cloth and not full heavy exotic body armor. At most of the fights I’m forced to pull out my gun and start shooting…
Class imbalance Warriors= way too high burst and hard to counter (My warrior can smash 25k+ crits. Yeah sure I’m a bit over geared but any decent warrior can faceroll around) Thiefs= HoS is way too op. Elementalist I won’t even mention anything further.
Crafting. Seriously what the hell did you think when you made crafting so complicated. Yeah sure, option to discover recipes on our own is fun and all that.. but at least make it easy to skill up (easy to learn hard to master- or something). I seriously went nuts when I spent time on skilling up cooking and armorsmithing to 400…
wat.
are you serious with this?
arenanet never said there wouldn’t be a grind; they said there wouldn’t be a NECESSARY grind, as in, a grind to level. did they fulfill that? so far, it seems to be based on players. i don’t feel like i’m grinding; that’s the important part. i’m having fun playing the game.
WvW a copy of aion? combat melee unfriendly? crafting complicated?
p.s. don’t play a glass cannon spec and you won’t die in two seconds.
poor, poor healing turret. it just seems to not work correctly half the time.
the healing it applies? it works fine. picking up the turret? it’s fine. however, those are the only things that seem to work one hundred percent.
unfortunately, when the healing turret applies its regeneration, often, it just flat-out won’t work right. more then half the time, i’m getting ticks of 5 healing per second instead of the appropriate amount. 5 healing instead of 200+ is HUGE. i get the 5 healing regen per second more then 200+. that sucks.
on this note, sometimes, the healing turrets water combo field doesn’t work either. the regeneration applies fine, but, the water field doesn’t activate. i’ve tested this several times, all of the times without anyone else nearby and only myself. you should be able to put down turret -> wait two seconds -> use the first profession ability to blow up the turret for self-combo water field finisher. i wasn’t seeing this happen at all. there’s a very obvious wave effect that happens, and, “area healing” pops up in big, bold letters.
also, completely unrelated to the healing turret, the grenade kit toolkit ability doesn’t work.
i notice you kept saying “ranger”, which means the only experience you have is with ascalonian catacombs. try different dungeons.
and, for a revelation, try slotting support/utility skills. that’s the MAIN problem i see with most people. they don’t change their mindset from questing → dungeon and play the exact same way with 4 purely-dps skills and a glass cannon build and keep dying, repeatedly, and blame the game and not themselves.
while i can’t say whether the balance is right or not yet (it feels good in some places, undertuned in others and overtuned in more), the systems are there. they just need to be smoothed out and refined.
it seems to work fine in PVP areas, but for some reason… it doesn’t work in PVE at all.
that awkward moment when you realize there would be people that legitimately post things like that on the forums and believe it.
stability for 2s WOW GREAT now I am invincible. Oh wait 2min CoolDown!
who only gets 2s of stability for a 120 second cool down? i’m curious. all of the stability effects i have on my characters (engineer, guardian) or similar effects like stability last anywhere from 5 seconds to 10 or more, depending.
stability.

please.
i liked it back in BWE1 where you had four (or was it five?) slots for accessories… but none of them had stats. you used gems to get the stats you desired. it had the same exact “stat total”, but, it allowed you to customize stats to your desire.
sometimes, i want to build a little tankier, but simply slotting another gem doesn’t work for me. the current system is really an “all or nothing” with the stats on the necklaces.
doing this will allow the people that want to go full glass cannon to continue doing this; but this also helps the people that might want to build tankier or add more a specific stat without losing a huge benefit from another stat.
i’d really like to see this rolled back to the BWE1 state.

sup my fellow tinkerers.
that’s the build i’m currently using. as you can see, i’m focusing on healing/survivability/support with conditions. so far, it’s worked pretty well, actually, but i’m looking for opinions.
it’s mostly a PVP build, obv, but i’ll possibly do something similar with my PVE one. i just want some second opinions on certain talents, such as elixir-infused bombs and backpack regenerator, whether these talents are worth keeping. backpack regenerator doesn’t seem to scale, sitting at a flat 125 and elixir-infused bombs heals for around 257… but this is also very, very spammable.
i’m using the dwayna runes (might switch to undead for +toughness/condition damage plus the six set) and the shaman amulet for +toughness, condition damage and healing.
also, with this build, i have an extreme low crit chance (9%). what sigils should i use? most are either stacking, increased duration or “on crit”; there’s only a few that don’t use these and most are static, such as, 5% increased critical chance or 5% more damage… which doesn’t work with conditions. i suppose i could run water… but then what else? i wanted to use energy/strength (endurance/might on swap) and then i found out it doesn’t work with kits. i suppose i could use increased bleeding duration, but, ehh…
so yeah, second opinions would be awesome.
(edited by nvmvoidrays.2158)
depends.
in PVE, i run either 3 or 4.
in PVP, 2. sometimes, i use the med kit instead of the turret.
Can those looks and items be used in PvE? (Cosmetic that is). The biggest issue is how seperated PvP, and PvE is, and I’m not talking about power of items. Do I have to be red/blue every match?
iirc, they said they’ll add in an option to turn off the red/blue coloring… i’m guessing just for your character, so, you’re not red/blue, but the enemies still are.
Let’s see them review Ascalon Catacombs, its overflow shards, forced difficulty and hour waiting times. Oh wait, they aren’t paid to.
so, basically:
ascalonian catacombs wasn’t that hard.
overflow is actually a good idea; it’s just currently buggy/awkward to use.
forced difficulty? wat.
WvW times are different for everyone. on my server, the queue times are usually around 5-10 minutes. some people on henge of denravi are reporting 5+ hour queue times because everyone wants to coast on an easy win.
EDIT: reviews over 7/10 are paid? wow. you’re justkitten that your “suggestion” thread got deleted, aren’t you?
the only one i really want to see is two-hand axe for warrior/guardian/ranger.
and melee weapon for the engineer, or… another weapon period.
use bomb kit and grenade kit.
if they get crippled rooted and they can’t dodge? they’re gonna be eating tons of damageTM.
Right now they current limitations might be in place until they can calculate what additional upgrade might be needed in the server cluster to handle the load. I’m hoping we might get an official response on this.
i doubt it’s a load problem.
it’s more of a balance problem then anything. increase the population too much? high population servers have an advantage over lower population servers. keep it too low? queues everywhere.
i’m going to go ahead and guess they aren’t focusing on PVP (yet) because, well, let’s be honest, most people are going to spend 90% of their time doing PVE content.
just wait and see.
gather.
do you see a node on the way to a DE/heart? gather it. it’s free XP and money. why would you not gather? since you don’t like crafting, it’s pure profit. you can recoup the money needed to buy tools within the first node usually.
get food. go to lion’s arch and buy rice in bulk. it’s 47 karma, iirc, and its a food buff. +20 power and +10 XP per kill for 10 minutes and you get 25 of them. the only problem is its technically an “ingredient”, so, using deposit all collectibles will cause it to deposit. if you don’t want to deal with that, buy food off the TP. other then the level 70-80 food, everything else is extremely cheap, a few copper per.
+1.
doitdoitdoit.
join tournament matches. it has group queueing.
hot-join PvP is solo queue. they said they don’t want pre-mades stomping all over random PUGs.
