Wrong! that would be so freaking OP, fresh air will just reset air attunement cd, not skills cd.
Would it though? Going 30 into air means you will have to either give up extra healing/hp from water traits or sacrifice attunement recharge rate/buffs from arcane traits. Eles only have 10k base hp in spvp without water traits. If it recharged skills it would make a staff dps build very viable. You are probably right that it will only be the attunement and not skills. Still, an extra lighting strike that you get from switching to air with the minor trait could add some nice dps.
I am pretty pleased at these patch notes and they seem legit. I am looking forward to trying a staff air build on my elementalist. Gust was buffed to hit more than one target, and if air attunement skills get recharged on critical hit then I will be shooting gusts of wind at everybody and static fields left and right! Tornado having a shorter cooldown is a welcomed change as I like to use it in tournies occasionally for the knockback. Also a lot of staff abilities got their cast time reduced as well as the aftercast being shorter. Should help with damage issues that staff has.
Looking forward to this patch, only upsetting thing is the water trait that gives 2% damage per boon will now be 1%. I suppose this is being done to nerf bunker damage slightly. Oh well, no big deal

My thoughts exactly. Hopefully it has some type of twist like middle point controlling who can use the portal so middle is more valuable. And it looks like it may have keeps/lord from the picture. I am just so very bored of conquest, hopefully this map is a breath of fresh air. What we really need is a new game mode without the generic 3 capture nodes. It doesn’t have to be a deathmatch, but this game could really use a new mode. The gate/lord concept has a lot of potential if they could make a game mode where it would actually matter (no capture nodes).
Signed, I absolutely hate when someone goes offline in my party in wvw. If we could kick them it would be amazing. Vote to kick option.
The best thing they could do would be to allow dueling inside the heart of the mists. Seriously, I don’t know why they didn’t think to do that before the game released. It would make the mists area much more meaningful instead of just a place to wait for tournament queues. (I would prefer the option to duel anywhere in the world but this might take too much work figuring out which places to disallow dueling)
I myself am very disappointed with these “custom arenas”. The fact that we cannot turn off capture points ruined it for me. Anet really must not want us to have any other playtypes…just look at how many of the new arenas are “deathmatch” servers. The most annoying thing on these deathmatch servers are people capping points when the description says not to. I for one will not be buying these non customizable “arenas”. Whypay for more of the same? Basically the same as the old unranked matches with descriptions on them.
And targeted heals are a bad idea. There are quite a few ways to heal already they would just mess up class balance

I don’t think thieves are op at all…maybe against an upleveled lowbie they may seem op. But as a geared out 80 in exotics you should not be getting 1 shot by thieves
Another QQ thread….why don’t we just remove eles from the game? Seems all the baddies would be happy.
IMO we need to stop nerfing classes and bring other classes up to par. No class is that blatantly overpowered anymore and no one is really that far off. The few outliers (I have heard ranger/engineer) should be brought up to par. Nerfing classes is not fun for anyone and it has happened enough in this games short life span.
It doesn’t take it away, 30 in water and arcana would still give cleansing wave and evasive arcana heal. Just instead of Flame Burst, Blinding Flash, and Churning Earth on dodge in the other attunements, you’d get Sunspot (damage at location), Electric Discharge (strike foe with lightning), and Earthen Blast (damage and cripple at location), respectively, instead.
my last post was directed at the op, but honestly your idea is not so bad. I just dont want to lose my elementalists healing because of QQ. The op thinks we should be gutted and forced to use a focus for any survivability.
People tend to QQ about the “mage” class in every mmo. This is nothing new
If you take away cleansing wave AND evasive arcana heal you are basically gutting all of scepter/daggers healing power and there will be no one using that weapon set anymore. The only option will be to run 3 cantrips or die after dodges are on cooldown.
Scepter range is only 900 not 1200…and i dont want to be forced to use a focus like mesmers. I love my water five ability so screw you go QQ some more. No ele wants to be forced to use a focus I personally love to run scepter/dagger. Eww focus horrible idea.
Go for Sanctum of Rall or Blackgate. JQ is full as hell and will always have long que times.
I have heard talk of them connecting the three borderlands maps together….might be interesting but I doubt it could ever work. I personally don’t really like the bordlerlands maps and people tend to neglect them for EB…which results in all the regulars being in EB and there being a 30+ min queue. I think it might be better if there were no borderlands at all and just 3 different unique EB style maps with different objectives (similar to stonemist castle). Maybe keep 1 borderlands map, EB, and release 2 other fun maps that people would want to play on.
For the love of God, get off the E-Sport kick. You are just limiting yourself. So many fans are pleaing for more game modes and you continue to resist to your detriment. You could easily institute additional game modes that aren’t used for competitive play, but just for fun.
The more fun people have, the more players, equals more opportunity for money.

I don’t understand, you have this entire “server” (The Mists) dedicated to PVP. Why not just allow dueling there, or in a specified section within the Mists. It doesn’t make sense to have to jump to the Mists and then jump to another empty server (or custom arena) just to duel. Most modern MMOs allow dueling anywhere. What is the problem?

We need ARENA like in WoW. 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 with team ratings and cosmetic rewards. NO MORE CONQUEST!!! Please, if you really don’t want to make arena like WoW has (which is successful mind you) at least make a capture the flag map (NOT SPIRIT WATCH!! NO CONQUEST)

No, I would personally love to see arenas like world of warcraft has. 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 in a small map where the objective is to kill the enemy team ONLY. No little tiny circles where everyone sets up knockback fields in on their bunkers, I want a real competetive arena style fight. Have team ratings and all, straight up copy WoW (maybe make a few slight changes, but you get the idea). Guild Wars 2 combat is much better than WoWs is and I believe arena (not custon “arena” with conquest only mode) would really help this game take off. A competetive arena mode would really help this game out.
Bluxgore speaks the truth. Also keep in mind – there are MANY opinions on the forums about what we should be working on. It’s hard to say “the players want X”, because normally, there’s very little consensus on what players actually want. We try to make as many people happy as we can with each update, but it’s nearly impossible to please everyone all the time. This is true in life as well.
As long as we can turn off points in custom arenas (essentially making kills the way to gain points) I think most people will be happy. However I do really hope that “right click” duels anywhere in the world happen one day. In WoW some really cool videos have been made of players dueling in unique places such as on the spine edges in blades edge mountains. There are WAY better places for epic duels in guild wars 2 in my opinion because the world is so much better looking. Even on PVE servers in WoW the option to duel is still there. It could give pve players something to do while they wait for a group to fill up, or give people something to do while they wait for wvwvw queue. I know implemeting dueling in the world is a bit more work than it sounds, but it will really add some great value to this game and shouldn’t be put on the back burner. Maybe have one of the pve teams work on dueling out in the world?
