I never said it was all IoM.. If you look at the video again we were very outnumbered by your zerg and SF had a full map zerg on our map had teams hitting bay and north/south garrison all at the same time. We fought the SF zerg straight up in open field at South Garrison, we did have around a 25 man zerg doing their own thing off my tag but the video you were watching was IoM running mostly alone, I tagged only because SF was hitting garrison 4 times in a row giving me no choice but to tag.

The second and Third videos are actually multi servers AR,SF,GoM and I think a few others, I only posted those 2 videos to prove my point that the guy saying that IoM is bad at open field fights is sadly mistaken, I am not going to sit here and argue but I am just trying to prove a point.

Failed point. A lot of those you just surprise them and tbh, several of those groups were pugs and basically panic when you charge. Not saying the other guilds on ET shouldn’t pay you guys to teach them how to play, they should, it would be a huge step up. The only time I was vs you without seige, it was the bay cap and a few times during the YB match, the group that wiped you guys and YB that you looked like you were setting up to GvG

That would only have been more fun without the skill lag. Not saying we would have taken garrison, but it would have made the fights that much more fun and might have made the 29-golem rush a success since no one could get their skills off.

[IoM] was quite good in terms of team play though, though they are still weak in open field fights, it was nice to see an above average group for once out there. Totally surprised us a few times.

My opinion is you should have let it go and gone hit other targets for PPT since now you basically managed to get 2 of the biggest SF zerg teams to work together for a while which proves to everyone involved that it can make things happen. But I guess that 25 points really has a lot of sentimental value to you guys.

On a side note, a huge thanks to DH for hitting the T3 Bay of ET, you prepped it perfect for one of our teams and we made sure they had no siege left when they poured in so it was a fun cap and loot farm.

Sorry, sounds completely boring. I went to JQ to “play properly” and it was fun for a few weeks and then it became a chore. A lot of the people on both sides were (in my eyes) players with very little skill and honestly not that much fun (for me).

I like chasing people halfway across the map. I like small group fights.

What I don’t like is people telling me that their way of playing this game is the ONLY way or the BEST way to play the game. WvW is designed to be a sandbox. Everybody should be allowed to find fun the way the find fun

Hint: PPT and overall score !=! Fun.

Do you follow zergs around though and cause them to wipe? Also, in bronze, even a zerg is a small group fight.

Yes they have trainings, but the people who need them dont know about them. its not like there is someone in LA or even in EB periodically letting people know about them. I noticed awhile ago that some commanders have stopped tagging up to let these newcomers florish. Its good in theory but no one is there actually helping them learn.

I would think the vet commanders would try to give them advice but all i see is them not tagging up and effectively letting the newer commanders run around blindly. We have multiple commanders tagged up within like 10 feet of each other frequently. Its just unorganized. If you have to suppress the kitten out of some commanders then get to suppressing. Im seeing more and more people avoiding EB just because of the sad state of our commanders in there. We have dropped 2 ranks, lost a match last week that could have easily been won. The ranking system is just kittened anyway so in matches like these we lose rank for fighting a server 9 ranks above us. Its obvious you are aware of the problem and im not blaming you or other commanders for our disorganization because it is a community problem. Im just trying to point out that we have to get it together on mutple fronts. I mean before i wrote the SF recruitment post we hadnt had one in how long?

I think you make some very good points, and the people who coordinate those things read these forums, so they will likely see your suggestions…But I will also pass those along tonight.

I personally do not do much “teaching” to the newer commanders because in the past it has been a good way of just catching criticism…Probably not a good reason, but at the end of the day I just (personally) got tired of all the nonsense.

But you are right, myself and some others have probably taken the wrong route in dealing with some of it. I had gotten the point where I was only tagging up in the matches like this because I knew none of the newer/fairweather commanders would likely be doing so because it is pretty tough sledding, and truth be told I have slacked off of even that. (I am speaking about myself not because I think I am “good” just that is the only person I can speak for).

All I remember was the wave of insults that came from offering commanders free leadership/commanding courses for WvW as well as basics on usual tactics. People know it all, but when a commander calls for something, only 1 or 2 play properly.

Last night while Savannah (King Amadaeus) was tagged up with 15 or so other Cosa and kept the majority of Yaks busy, myself and about 8 of my guildies from Suns ran on the opposite side of the map. We originally took Aldons then started to wander up into the ET side of the map and grabbed Anz/Speld/Mend. We noticed that Savannah decided to make Aldons a bunker and went to help out. I think that between our 2 guilds and a few others we were probably at 30 or so strong. Once Yaks battered all the walls down and we held off all the waves for a while all our siege got wiped by the trebs/mortars from the keep. Suns left Aldons after all the Yaks guys pulled off for a while, so we went to the Yaks side of EB while the battle continued to rage and proceeded to take T3 Durios, QL, and Klovan. I know another group flipped the T3 Bravost. All that time we grew eyes in the back of our heads wondering when the zerg would come and kill us, but your focus on Aldons made it easy. My thanks to Savannah for taking all the heat while we made some havoc elsewhere!

There was a lot more going on in WvW than just Aldon’s while you were flipping those towers, including a large wipe of SF in their garri to a siege trap, and 15 SF on the Yak watergate in EB (gate hit point bar was empty when I got there.)

At one point, ya’ll appeared to have 3 different groups on our side of EB as well as a large force at your bl garrison.

And none of it was coordinated.

For leagues then I would work on getting everyone on the same comms. You guys wonder how the YB Zerg comes out in so many numbers it’s because of good communications.

Even when guilds use there own comms they have a representative in the primary passing along Intel / orders.

I hope you guys do well in leagues and learn from the experiences you had here.

Give us just 1/2 your numbers. It’s not about how fast you respond, it’s that we’re outnumbered in 3/4 of the BGs during OUR primetime. I must have spent a total of what, 20s on repairs this week… because I died in the mad king labyrinth (had to do achieves on overflow because my server refuses to play properly)

The problems aren’t really the comms on SF – a few of the TS guys sit somewhere in mumble in case we need the mumble people. The main problem is that we have too many people living in the past which is stopping them from moving forward. They have that mentality where they have to be heroes, they think stacking up and wiping other zergs is like having a second job, gearing up properly is a chore and that is the challenge we have : the whole server’s mentality has to change. If it were only the comms, it would have been fixed ages ago.

SF seems to be the magnet for all the kids with disorders or delusions of self importance as if they had to somehow prove their existence to others in video games; the pinnacle of what can be described as pathetic. Seriously, they feel rejected because they lost a 5-man guild yesterday. I suspect the fact it starts with Sorrow attracted too many emos.

They were running a group of about 15-20. Little after 7pm eastern. Went to orge mercs and were wiped out by a group of 12 yaksbend.

I did that supplyinfo thing. Advanced Command kitten /smile

Then we faced them again. They were stacked behind vista hill north side going up the hill. They were forced up there hill and then jumped down, unfortunately we saw that coming and pushed back let them come at us, CCed / Tornadoed / Wiped them almost to the man. I think a few of you guys ported out.

All that being said. I was happy that someone came out and played for a bit. CoSA i think your commander needs a little more field experience.

Was fun fighting ya though. You guys almost had a nice flank on two instances.

I saw a group of 8 CoSA and 3 pugs yesterday wipe [FoW] and a ton of [LOOT]. Well until they respawned and came back with 40+ and arrow carts for 12 people. No matter what comes from YB after that one, there is 0 credibility left now.

Oh yeah, [Glob] wiped that same group with about 20 people and no siege. Probably the only guild on YB that has a bit of hope. Seriously, pay them so they can teach you guys how to play.

Thats a stretch, Globs pretty much free loot bags too. Had them on farm status since this matchup started wiping thier groups with half thier numbers.
Without siege support YB players are easily farmed in open field if thier numbers arent over 4 to 1 in thier favor.

You must not have faced their real zerg then. 3-4 players surrounded by a bunch of pugs is not the guild. Their real guild build is pretty well built and dangerous. Sure they outnumbered us every time too, but they are geared properly and run their group build effectively. So you gotta admit, that even though their build, if they face equal numbers, has known counters now, they are still the only guild worth a kitten on YB.

I am not saying we didn’t wipe them, we did, even with their seige. I am just saying that the other guilds on YB should be PMing them and paying them so they teach them how to play the game other than hiding behind walls since they really are the only guild in there to actually not need siege ALL the time.

But even when you guys (ET & SF) outnumber our guild group 3:1 odds or such, we’ve wiped you guys plenty of times before going down by the heavy down pour of more enemies (which is pretty intense when they’re coming from every direction)! Overall, fun match up so far! Glad ET and SF can still put up a fight even with this terribad match up system.

I completely agree with OP. PvDoor needs to go. So does multiple arrows from AC, it should take 20s to reload it, because face it, no one can reload an AC like that in seconds, and AC fire shouldnt go through walls. The cannons shouldn’t be turnable either, that makes no sense! Has anyone at ANet ever touched a real cannon? I mean, it just makes no sense!

We should also remove magic and undead. Those don’t exist in real life either. If you’re gonna have Tequatl, why can’t necros tame it and take it over to defend their BGs as Teq. Just MY necro though, pfft, I wouldn’t want a fair fight! I mean, come on, the class controls undead and stuff, but cant raise zombies and use undead dragons? Just remove that class, its pointless!

Edit: I forgot, Rams should be carried by players and pushed onto doors, if 1 player fails to run at the right time, the ram should fall on them and do damage. However, it should have its damage increased to like take 3 hits for a regular door to fall.

PPT…what’s that? I play for fights. It’s hard to find a YB that isn’t part of the 50 man zerg but the ones we can pull away are easy kills.

The best part of this matchup is that SF doesn’t have any fairweathers on either. It’s nice to see them without inflated numbers.

From our side its good to see which guilds are worth our time to coordinate with as well as to entice the players from fairweather guilds that want to enjoy WvW as it was meant to be played and be part of the server-wide WvW team. That way, in the next fairweather run, they may step up and tell their guild what they are doing wrong as we explain why we do certain things on TS this week. We view this as a great training week and we even had a dozen players completely regear themselves based on what we said. It means a lot to us.

The group that takes your BL and attacks your garri thinks you are bad and your spawn camping won’t stop them, no matter how hard you try. They had left for ET then left to take back our BL, so you spawn camped a few pugs. Must have been real fun. /sarcasm

I run with the karma train in EB occasionally but do not set foot into the other servers borderlands but stay in ours to defend. What i saw so far is SF fielding comparably large groups, this may be the majority of your server, and YB can field more overall.

Among SF i’ve seen good and bad players, like on every server. I’ve been in some “open field” large-scale fights, and YB seems to win those more often than losing them. But as i said i stay in our BL and in EB.

Respect for those from SF and ET that still come out to fight – i am against spawn camping. The one-sidedness of this match-up is more and more making me want to stay out of WvW for the rest of this week. But do not misunderstand, YB has a core of players who come out and fight even if we are being dominated, no matter who our opponent is – in the upcoming league for example.

I hope that some of the comments i’ve read in this thread do not represent the majority of opinion on our opposing servers. Let’s keep it polite please.

Let’s just say that on SF, you scared the fairweathers away, but the opinion of YB is that you are extremely huge groups of terrible players that can’t with without seige. To be honest, you are the best bag farm we’ve had in weeks.

Well that ain’t the case now, they’re still 17th.
And I’m pretty sure they manually manipulated this weeks. We know they can, ‘cuz that’s how they’re gonna do it for the league (manual match making), and I highly doubt 17th could get both 23rd and 24th servers in the same week.

I think with the terrible match ups every week, it is giving them too much credit that they do it manually. It is probably a machine that randomly matches servers because they don’t have the resources to make them manually, that costs money and if it costs them money, then it hurts their only objective: profits.

Hardly trolling I have been doing this every morning of this match up, I was posting in another thread about that had GoM in it and screwed up but the point stands. Today I am staying in ET’s borderland, lots of scrub thieves to wipe from both SF and YB. This is a pathetic match and the fights I have found roaming are even worse, its 90% thieves spamming heart seeker. Just had a fight against 2 thieves and a guardian from SF where both thieves just mashed 2, even with 2 blood stacks to my zero they all died because they are completely brainless.

Well keep it up, maybe eventually they’ll quit that roaming crap and want to learn to play WvW properly. I’ll be expecting them.

Yaks has some sad sad “roamers”. I log in and go to ET Bl today and see one of my servermates getting jumped by 3 ppl from yaks near out spawn. We end up killing 2 and a few more come, and then a few more until its about 3 vs 10.

I die and so do the rest of my crew, respawn go out to where they are and we end up killing most this time with the rest running away. They keep running until they call in back up and about 10 more people come, we get jumped, you know the rest.

Respawn again and this time there is 2vs2, Yaks try to gang up on one person to burst him down, fail thief tries to heartseek spam and gets down and they call in a third from their guild [AI] right when they are losing.

If this is the type of scrub behavior you guys do at Yaks Bend(Besides spawn camping) then i see no real reason for anyone from ET or SF to seriously play this week.

If you do have some serious roamers, great, but so far i haven’t seen any yet.

Actually we left after your seige wiped us, no worries, you guys out in the open is on film. I mean seriously, you seige up camps?

We didn’t leave because of wipes, in fact, we had the outnumbered up all the time so we enjoyed the extra MF. We left to get our own BG back because no one was doing it. When we came back, you had even more numbers and still wiped on us a few times.

Then we went in EBG because our fairweathers, well they had left by then, as expected.

It was fun fights, especially since you were not the only server attacking Hills. We pushed you off the at the same time we pushed the other server off, with our walls down, no supply, and of course we were outnumbered there since all servers are always outnumbered at all times!

I already congratulated you on your auto-win, there are obviously no excuses.

We didn’t leave because of wipes, in fact, we had the outnumbered up all the time so we enjoyed the extra MF. We left to get our own BG back because no one was doing it. When we came back, you had even more numbers and still wiped on us a few times.

Then we went in EBG because our fairweathers, well they had left by then, as expected.

You realize that you have lumped our entire WvW group into this category right? I’m sure you do. You strike me as a fairly intelligent person if just a wee bit obsessed with ragging on the server you are currently on. You have spent the better part of this thread spewing hate at the server you are on and you wonder why no one is falling for these pearls of wisdom…

And before you strain yourself trying to associate me with the ones that you like to trash… I’m the nasty little PUGger that won’t join a “real” WvW guild.

There are bad players and good players. If you’re the pugger that doesn’t know how to play WvW as it is presented to us, then you SHOULD join a WvW guild and learn not to ruin it for us. However, if you stay in EBG it is fine no matter what, its the pug zone, but you cant lose from learning how to do things right. You don’t have to join a guild, just ask one or follow a commander in Team Speak. Just follow directions, its simple.

We only have 1 nasty pug on SF that griefs his own server purposefully.

SF the only reason you aren’t winning is because you use too many ppl for everything! you just zerg everything wether it’s a keep or a camp. This is dumb. By doing so you let other servers control many more camps (most of the time towers too) than you all weeks. In the ends it does make a difference. You not winning is not about FC having more players it’s about you trying to zerg everything and having no roaming group cauz of it.

I don’t remember things that way; I remember DH capping us at night so we had things to take back in the day, we have (Might be ‘had’ at this point, I’m not entirely sure) a roaming group that currently isn’t on, and we don’t always travel in a huge zerg. We also had an away team that would cap DH and FC’s BL given the opportunity, but yet we were always outnumbered by the enemy zerg. Sometimes we pulled through, sometimes we died. Those were good fights that were worth fighting. Don’t try to tell us something that isn’t true. That and you weren’t on our side when PUBs left the main group to go do something.

We know our server can’t collaborate, it’s why were 19th and not moving up. So yeah, don’t try lying about our numbers, 20 people on a commander is pretty much tops for SF.

Everyone in this match up already knows that this is one of SF’s weakest time slots. Let’s not kid ourselves. SF usually picks it up again a few hours from now and everything evens out. But don’t cry double team like a sore loser when you had a 10k lead yesterday and somehow manage to lose it. If FC wins this match up, there is no one to blame but yourselves.

ATM, I’d be surprised if SF even has 100 players across all BGs and even more surpised if 20 of them can follow a commander adequately. But if what you say is true, then we sure as hell dont deserve to win this. If you play like crap, you deserve to lose.
