You know what really isn’t fun? Moa Morph/Polymorph Moa. That skill needs to go away.

Moa is by far the stupidest elite. It’s the equivalent to a turning someone into jello and beating them to death. Mesmers have so many evades and conditions do they really need an elite that prevent opponents from fighting back? Get moa’d and die. It never used to be so bad getting moa’d but now that everyone rolls condition builds its almost impossible to survive it.
I have to agree with op. Solo queue is now a nightmare to play. I had 2 matches in a row where the teams were 4v5 and 3v4 in favor of the other team. I keep getting paired with players not even half my rank and most of the time they just stand around.
All the fun is slowly being reworked into unfun.
balanced stance is a stun break also good for stomping. 40s cooldown
zerker stance 8 seconds of condition free fighting. 60s cooldown
endure pain 4 seconds immune to damage. not sure on cooldown.
Signets while they have passive benefits have much longer cooldowns. Healing signet is probably the only signet you will need in spvp as a warrior. Signet of rage is good but team fight warbanner is better. Bunkering on a warrior is 50/50 on whether to use rage or warbanner just depends on your play style. Just my 2 cents.
Just block them and hope the q system gets fixed. It should punish people who leave ranked matches back to back. I’d like to see team lock on hot joins. Spectate autobalance rejoin nonsense is getting old.
This isn’t much of a nerf.. Hammer damage was too high. It is effective in team fights if it hits for 50% less damage, let alone 20% (on 2 skills). As for UF move this is also positive.. Burst mastery turns our class mechanic into by far the easiest in the game (especially with passive adrenaline gain).
Warriors should be compelled to spec into strength to 1v1 at top tier. Until this is achieved the issue of faceroll low skill cap builds will resume.
Also healing signet doesn’t need a nerf, cleansing ire needs to stop us gaining adrenaline on hit.

I feel like anet must have worked at least several hours planning this update. You don’t expect them to change it now after all that hard work.
So, a full-fledged PvE update disguised as PvP. Wait, who asked for this? Reading the blog-post, this is what I gathered:
- We’ll se an influx of terrible PvE players in our tournament games, as they’ve come to farm gold.
- They removed the even playing field in PvP, as now, totally new players will not have access to the same skills as veterans.
- They removed any prestige PvP players had left, by making all armors buyable with gold (We all know who has the most gold).
- They are giving Skyhammer Farmers exclusive titles and finishers, and making them forever unavailable to the rest of us.
- They are adding more achievement points to PvP, which will also encourage more PvE farmers in PvP (Who does not play to win, but play to farm).
- They are encouraging people to farm PvE for skins, as this will most likely be the path of least resistance.I support the ladder changes, but the rest of this blog is complete and utter bullkitten.
Also, when will the players who don’t give a crap about rewards, finally get some love? Like, fixing this horribly spammy and braindead meta.

Overall I think the new changes will bring much needed life to spvp. The implementation is all wrong though. We shouldn’t have our current ranking system stripped in place of a ladder system it will just widen the gap between casual and hard core players.
It’s crippling to remove something that from what I’ve read most people want to keep.

The point isn’t wether or not the current system is good or bad. The point is we’ve already spent countless hours ranking up. Take that away and what do we have to show for it?
Assuming that we are all bad tpvp players because we want to keep our ranks doesn’t make sense. We have leaderboards.
Thieves, mesmers, rangers, engineers all have stealth. HULKBEAST warriors need it to right?
it seems like 2 people that dont even play pvp make all the decisions for pvp content.
All that was needed to fix warrior was to move UF and nerf the healing sig a little. Instead warrior gets nerfs all across the board and more healing skills are being introduced to the game to compensate for the going to be defunkt warrior.
LB is a great condition weapon on the warrior. Hammer, longbow, burst mastery, unsuspecting foe all nerfed in addition to the current stealth nerfs to desperate power, furious, and empowered. Which have not been fixed or addressed.

I say this because it’s very unlikely that the gold earned in pvp will outshine pve farming..
then we need to make it clear to them that, gold rewards in sPvP should be significantly, insanely much higher than the PvE farming counter part.
it’s unrealistic to expect that. which is why they should not have deleted glory.
they are removing glory, gold will be the universal currency, gold gain from sPvP must be significantly higher than PvE / WvW or else the PvE / WvW players will just continue to play PvE / WvW and the sPvP population will remain low as usual.
i will repeat myself again, the gold rewards from sPvP must be significantly insanely absurdly higher when compared against PvE / WvW in order for the sPvP population to be at a healthy level again.

If rewards are not significantly higher spvp populations will increase for 2-3 weeks every 3 months for the seasons. After that who wants to spvp when they can get so much more gold farming or running in wvw. I can make 2 gold an hour in wvw. I feel the rewards would need to be at least that good.

This whole revamped ranking system just seems poorly implemented to me. Devs have had ample time to get things rights but day after day we wait for anything substantial to come out for pvp. When we do finally get news it seems more like Anet is going to do what they want no matter what we suggest.
The problems with the current tpvp and solo queue was a matter of ranking. Constantly being queued up against teams with to high or to low in ranking. Being a rank 30 paired with rank 10s in solo queue.
Not having enough game modes is another huge issue not being addressed. We need more game modes. We’ve been playing team deathmatch for 16 moths now. Where’s capture the flag, deathmatch, siege and defend, king of the hill.
Totally gutting the current ranking system without taking player feedback into consideration is a huge mistake. It seems like the new rewards system is meant to blindside us from what really happening. Remove ranking but its okay if we give the players new shineys.

In response to all the folks saying all that matters is the new ranking system. We already have a ranking system for tPvP, and Solo queue. If you’re not on that board what makes you think it’ll be any easier to get on the new ladder system. So we scrap our existing rank system for a new one resetting all of us back to zero. It just doesn’t seem fair to me
Maybe you should read John’s article before criticizing it. All veterans before the ladder is implemented will be able to keep their finishers and more to show that you were there since the beginning. Don’t worry…be happy ;p
This new system sounds like an amazing new change that will get PvP more active and I’m super stoked for more game types.We will be able to keep finishers but the ranking system will be null and void. So anyone who’s tried to rank up knows it took a very long time. We will never get the chance to earn other finishers. If they go on sale or end up being rewards it will just cheapen having actually earned that finisher.

check out the new thread just started in this sub forums. We had a really big in depth discussion going but its got moderated(deleted).
Removing ranks will separate the hard core players from the casual. Potentially making the spvp player base even smaller. If a spvp season 1 happens you’ll get pve player getting achievements for 2 weeks then nothing. Be careful not to segregate the casual pvper from the hardcore crowd. Casual pvping is really the only thing keeping pvp alive.
1. Monetary rewards needs to be better than pve content for the new gold system to work. Other wise we are going to have pve players with all the best gear. Being compensated for our current glory in gold is a start
2. We need new game modes. This above all seems more important to me than a reworked ladder system.
3. Do not take away our current ranking or ability to advance in the current ranking system

It had moderator feedback was pinned. I didn’t see anything that was in violation of terms it seems to me it was deleted to keep rank removal hushed.
I for one do not want ranks to be removed in favor of a ladder system. Can’t we have both? Putting all that time into spvp just to have ranks taken away.
I’ve played over 2500 games. I’ve spent countless hours getting my Tiger finisher. I was really looking forward to the marauder title and a shark finisher. If ranking is removed without any compensation where does that leave us? We all start back at 0?
The other thread on this topic was deleted is this to be quietly swept under the carpet so you can roll out the new system? We want our ranks intact and the ability to earn more ranks.
Is it impossible to keep ranks and implement the new ladder system?

Agreed. Glory to gold conversion would be nice as well.
PvE and PvP should not be split in the first place that is why I like the changes.
1. It is not true you can see who is good player by their armor. That worked in the first month after release or so. So even if some PvE player comes with awesome armor in pvp noone will think he is pro unless he will have “champion *” title or known pvp name.
The statement that this will destroy the pvp community is also wrong. In GW1 top PvP and PvE players had same armors and weapons and its PvP community is far better than that of GW2.
2. This will probably bring more PvE players to pvp which will result in shorter Q times.
3. Removal/replacing of ranks is a good thing. They go up very slow and the whole system was destroyed by exploits. They are not even by far representation of skill.
4. The fact that this might take months is bad because this should be already done at release of the game.
It’s not that these pve players will be wearing rank 50 gear its that potentially they will be able to afford it more easily than someone who just pvps. Will our gold rewards compensate long time pvp players for their glory? will the new rewards/ monetary systems be on par with dungeon rewards? That’s what concerns me about the upcoming changes along with a bunch of other things in other threads.
Mostly positive changes however i can see why some people are concerned about losing there rank , me personally im not bothered i would sooner have a champion @ r 20 than a r 40 skyhammer farmer

You need to know a guy who knows a guy….even then HULKBEAST edition only printed enough copies equal to warriors registered in the game.
If you register a warrior right now another copy will get printed. But now that the secrets out…
If you constatly win in every match , then the gold per hour will be almost even as in PvE (80-85%) – i guess (because they are pushung more gear and finishers in the Black Market)
But if you loose , or you have team8s that dont want to listen to your orders … :PPP
But how do you know this? Where is your source on this info? Even if it’s “almost as good” as a pve we aren’t making as much as a pve player. On top of that we will be competitive ladder grinding just to maintain ranks. So casual pvpers will get punished with little or no reward while good players make all the gold?

Ranks will be removed imho because they are unnecessary considering what PVP is supposed to be.
There is no competitive game (afaik) out there where you are rewarded for how long you play. Rewards are based on how good you play.
Let’s take LoL as example, since it is the most played competitive game: you have an account level, from 1 to 30, which only purpose is to be an entry barrier to ranked matches. And that is exactly how it should be in GW2 imho.Players need skill-based rewards, not farm-based ones.
If this is true then why is a season 1 spvp being hinted at. We all saw what wvw season 1 did to rankings a queue times. If the new system of reward is implemented we will still have the same core pvp players. Instead we will have pve players getting their achievements ranking up the ladder then droppping off after season 1 meta is full filled. I see how adding ladders would bring in more hard core competition but its still a small group of people. Removing ranking will just segregate the casual pvper from the hardcore ones. I really don’t expect to see a massive influx of people ranking up the ladders anyway. The first 2 weeks of season 1 spvp(if there is a season 1) will be the most exciting after that it’ll just be the same old crowd.
I mean a real legitimate glory to gold conversion Implemented by anet to cover our losses on glory. This would be after gold replaces glory as the pvp currency in game. I will sit on my glory rather than waste is buying toxic spores. I’ll be able to buy levels at the very least it’s something. The gold earned from toxic spores conversion isn’t what concerns me. It’s the amount of gold we can earn in the new system and will it be enough to buy pvp rewards or will we have to farm pve content just to stay in stride with the pve players coming over for season 1 spvp.
I’m giving anet a chance on this one. Season 1 spvp which is what this sounds like would bring a ton of new players into spvp. However I agree we’ve heard this upcoming changes bs far to often with nothing changed.
Just to be clear justin isn’t actually in charge of the decision making. But I feel you Rozbuska I feel the same way about the changes.

I’ve noticed alot of nub warriors playing the last week or so. I suppose they are trying to get in a few rounds with the HULKBEAST INVINCIBLE warriors before the patch but failing to turn on HULKBEAST mode.+1
The current glory system was flawed really along with the rank system.
In every esport I watch they always reward based on skill, not time spent in the game. An example would be leagues in like starcraft (diamond league, etc) and ranks/ladders in league. These are based on how much you win and what not. Imagine if they rewarded these things based on how many games they played, regardless of what the players do. I’ve played against some rank 40+ and they were horrific. Ranks gave you some nice shinies for rewards, but beyond that they didn’t do anything. This new system they’re talking about sounds like ti will reward based on skill level, not time played.
Look at it this way, what do you think would be better for a game mode wanting to be an esport/competitve. Playing 9 million gajillion games in order to get the dragon finisher, or playing with an organized team and winning 30 games against the top teams to earn the dragon finisher. Plus it will be a lot better for streaming. Right now stream views are horrific. Now we may see “Ladder position 10+ solo que” and that will be much more impressive to watch and see how the top players play instead of seeing “rank 50 X class”. I know a lot of the guildies I play with think ranks take way too long to get, and represent nothing with player skill.
In the new system you will have to win 3 million games for that dragon finisher. They difference is skill I suppose

I would like to add a shout to this discussion. Where are the new games modes? We have basically been playing team deathmatch for 16 months now and suggestions for new games modes always seem to be swept quietly under the anet carpet.
I really hope we get new game modes sooner rather than later. Capture the flag, deathmatch, King of the hill, assault and defense. Anything even spot the mesmer lol.
New rewards and a season 1 pvp mode will only make pvp more achievement friendly. After its all said and done without new game modes its the same grind to get glory. It’s only a matter of time before the new novelty achievement system gets played out.

- PvP players wanted this content when the game released it’s long over due imho
- Maps like Skyhammer ruined rankings as a whole being that random 3 month people are in their rank 60’s by farming against the rules. Remove the ranks that’s a step in the right direction.
- Bring Legendaries to PVP even faster people asked for this 2 months into the game why do we have to wait 2 years for this to be implemented ?
- PvP community forever getting the shaft , can anyone actually be happy about the future of the PvP ? This game mode was trashed and called dead since last year.
- Also PvP long term goals cant wait too see what’s this aboutnothing can save this game mode anymore.

I agree with much of what you said but I’m giving this a chance. Probably my last chance before I move back to a better pvp game. I want the new system to be what saves spvp and overall I’m trying to stay positive about it.
We need faster pvp patches in response to the community concerns.

Can you punish players who spectate then join the other team. OR how about once your in a hotjoin you are stuck on that team till the end of the match. This autobalance, imma spectate switch teams bs is getting real old.
Addressing what some people have said about the gold system. what incentives are you giving the hardcore pvp players? will gold earned be enough to buy things as easily as we could with glory? I spend 1000 glory on a chest and get 3 armor items with unidentified dyes and trash thrown in. Will we earn enough gold in pvp to actually buy the things we want or will be have to go dungeon running and farming just to earn our rewards.
Having pve players come into spvp for the first time and seeing them wear the best armor in the game cus they can afford it and we cant will just be disappointing.
Will be be able to convert our existing glory into gold? what happens to the glory we dont spend?
I’ll take what I can get concerning utilities. I would rather have some cool new ability over another heal skill. It’s not a matter of right or wrong here just what I would rather have. I’ll take a new heal skill thats cool with me.
