Reading this thread only makes me inspired/tempted me to gamble more.
My story was someone just got Spark in LA so I was reminded of the spare tokens I had. So I went with about 5 forges worth of exotics and got Spark on 2nd try.
Thief is likely to be better overall compared to Ranger in PVE/PVP. The pet is an integral part of the Ranger class, and you’d have to keep an eye on it to play it well. Ranger sword is also unique and harder to get used to. Thief is more high risk high reward gameplay and both classes make good use of bows/melee in different situations. Trapper Ranger in WvW can be fun for roaming with superspeed and stealth with traps.
They had to remove all the the nicer sets. Glad I managed to grab the fused sword I pined for although it did cost me my stash of charged cores T_T I had 2 tickets saved up but was no where near to getting 5 tickets for a wep.
oo I noticed lupi had defiant stacks once when I accidentally headshot with my pistol with the sigil lol but I didnt know lupi could be interrupted. You could only do this the first time or does it work even after stripping defiance?
Poison Master is really strong. However I still prefer shortbow over sword/torch for the more reliable Poison Volley and bonus of an interrupt. I miss that burning from Bonfire and sword mobility but I find it wierd to have to stay on a melee weapon while kiting or be stuck on Axe.
Except Healing is not useful in PVE and the Ele in the group is already supplying longer lasting might. Using Empower would only overwrite the longer duration might. Staff auto is also pretty bad, unless you are mindlessly tagging mobs in cursed shore then its fine.
Ok,… the game is out, “the damage is done”… what would you do now? you have worthless gear sets out there and a game that doesn’t match the tools you are providing. Wouldn’t it be good to add or modify content so more gear options are worth using? wouldn’t the game be much more interesting if every gear set is used?
Condi stats can be useful in PVE, just not in 5 man dungeons. It’s very good in solo situations in Dungeons, vs high toughness Husks at Triple Trouble (if i’m not mistaken), Soldiers works best for Teq, even healing power has some situational use (for bombing heals on NPCs that would otherwise cause the event to fail).

I just noticed on Ranger that Spirit goes on cd immediately now when swapping to another spirit? Used to be able to swap to another Spirit then swap back to Frost (and make it cd instead).
I know some people notice no difference in performance, they still have the same fps like before. It sure is baffling how only some players have this problem. Besides not being able to reproduce the problem, the other argument is that system requirements change over time.
It’s not harder on a ranger, just much slower than classes like Warrior/Thief/Guardian because of damage modfiers in other wonky trait lines, and pet dies quickly. Arah is the most commonly soloed dungeon. I’ve seen Ranger solo CM story as well.
The build is usually 4/5/5/0/0, full zerk + Ranger/Scholar runes, Force + Slaying/Energy Sigils. For most bosses you can position your tanky pet like bear to tank boss damage and just sword afk behind it.
Anet has said they cannot reproduce the issue on their end, hence meaning a small minority of players and their system environments that is the problem. Since it’s working fine for the other large part of players I doubt any fix will be made and tech support is all we have for each of our cases. It’s just not high priority.
For ultimate pug carrying you need more than 1 prof :P But I’d say Guardians do the job pretty well for all dungeons and also fractals. In some cases, it also helps if you are comfortable soloing bosses with that class just in case half your party wipes.
AC 123 – Ele, because frostbow 5 can be lifesaver at bosses and easy for burrows.
CM 123 – Guardian/Thief. I prefer Guard because you don’t really need a thief with reflects and group stability for p3.
TA UF – Guardian helps clear blossoms easily and trash skips, also stability.
SE 123 – Guardian for condi cleanse/reflects.
CoF 12 – Ele, for dps and you could get the last part in p2 in one go.
HotW 1 – Mesmer/Guardian.
CoE 123 – Guardian, for reflects/stability at alpha, hammer helps with low dps groups.
Arah 1234 – Mesmer. Portals for trash skips, condi cleanse, Warden reflect +Feedback makes bosses like Alphard/Magecrusher/Lyssa easy, mass invi..
Maybe mastering the skills of all classes to the point of ‘maining’ them in PVE or PVP. Knowledge of PVE encounters like back of hand and being able to carry new players/solo bosses etc.
Lol Terissimo has a good collection. Why are there so many zerg (meaning zerk I presume) posts lately ._. I once saw “Adventures in Pugland p1” or “Pugadventures” in Arah.
Is ranger viable for soloing? Compared to classes like Warrior/Thief/Guardian it could take twice the effort and prob a much longer time to kill something, which is really sad how underpowered they still are, and most of the time pet is dead.
Completely uninstalled and updated Nvdia Drivers to latest compatible, adjusted all settings in Nvidia Control Panel for Best Performance.
Disabled power saving options.
Ran Gw2.exe as Admin
Set Gw2 Model Limit to Lowest, Model Quality to Lowest, Shadows None, Environment to Low, LOD to Low, Render to Native, the rest at Low/None.
Set Frame Limit to 60, tried with vSync on/off.
Audio Mixing buffer size to Most stable.
I’ve also cleared half the data on my full harddisk, defragmented and optimized it, also moved Gw2.dat to the front of the disk where access times are much faster. Noticed faster model loads and slightly smoother frames.
Also I have no parked cores, CPU/GPU temp is normal.
After Sept feature patch it’s still happening. If you log out/restart the game with Inventory window slighly moved off to the right of screen, when you log back in the window is resized by 1 column.

if you see the lfg sometimes there is only path seller normal groups fill up faster than selling groups
people need to PAY to get in a dungeon you can do it yourself for free
i tink this is not in the spirit of a people cooperation, becouse people get kikked by the path sellers from the istance there are some kittens but many sellers are legit
(i don’t tink someone can do all the istance alone and after they sell :P), it’s possible to solo dungeons in Gw2
and from another perpective ipotize the new players don’t have money to buy path?
at those players is forbidden the istance? it’s a service, you are not forced to buy it
yes you will again tell that they can make their own group, but how they do if the most time they get kikked or top player don’t want play whit them or there is (like always) only path sellers? there are many reasons players get kicked, ‘all welcome’ group fills quickly, and you cant expect ppl to carry you
do you realize this is not a good way to encourage people to play togheter? the players that buy paths are generally not interested to complete it themselves, however there are many others who do
if you want to make gold there is other ways like crafting. not sure if serious
And please, tell my own entering in a dungeon boss 1% paying is “gaming” or i just suppose you like to pay to win? Some players don’t like dungeons/PVE but would do it just for achievments/skins/tokens so they have more time for something else, also there is really nothing much to win here
Seems you can purchase additional ascended trinkets after unlocking the Achievement. Pretty neat, seems like a step forward in adding rewards for dungeons.

Map: Open World and in instances
Brief description of what you’re seeing: FPS will constantly drop by half when moving through instances/open world. All settings lowest, no Hi-Res Textures. Frame rate was stable before patch, that is no visible stuttering.
I get bored so I pick out a noob from the low level areas sometimes and rear them up to be a filthy meta scumbag like myself. I’m always so proud of them, warms the cocles of me heart to see em growin up.
That sound like fun, can never have enough filthy zerkers :P
As for OP, why not check out [Noob] guild sticky on front? Ofc don’t join zerk speed experienced only groups if you are new. There are many guilds that will help newer players and if you create your own group, some vets dont mind joining to help.
Prob have to wait longer for a response or no fix incoming, I guess only a few of us have this problem, though our systems are the same as prior to patch.
Some of us have been facing noticable stuttering/spiking FPS issues since the Sept Feature patch. We have submitted tickets and Customer Support has said they are investigating but no news as yet. Wonder if you could help us clear things up on where the problem lies and what is the progress? Thanks.

Hopefully there’s something on their side that they can fix, it prob only affects some of us but it’s been almost unplayable since the patch, frame rate just spikes even in instances.
I’ve tried the following, and it helps a tiny bit, there are still spikes though, something which was not an issue previously before the patch.
