There will always be some kittens, which have lead people to think that most sellers kick to sell spots, which isnt the case. I’ve lost my spot before (kicked at last boss after helping party stuck at Alphard then porting ppl who cant trash run wtf). I guess the only safeguard would be starting the instance yourself, which although is a problem in itself but that’s another thread..
1. Faster map load times.
2. Less zerg events.
3. Remove party merge and instance owners, 3 to vote kick.
4. More open and explorable dungeons like Arah / elite single map areas like FoW, DoA in Gw1 with optional events (leet loot if completed all) and mob AI.
5. Less frequent living story, larger expansion release.

I wonder why theres so much complaining about dungeon selling in GW2 when in GW1 it was widely accepted. What happened between the 2 games that turned the guild wars community into such whiners?
Living Story.
Gotta pass it on to pugs I’m seeing too many alt-f4s.
Play how you want. -Anet
If the owner of a dungeon instance intentionally leaves his party to kick out players and invite new players, it will now also kick that owner out of the dungeon to prevent people from kicking PUG members and inviting guild members for the final boss of a dungeon.

I dont know what they did to the turrets at the waypoint.. I’ve no problem going past it when soloing. However in parties if someone has already past it I would need shield block or endure pain to get past if running through the turrent. Or you could just stick to the left and instead of going through turrets, jump up the slope beside on the left, there’s a hole you can go through without aggroing the spiders. Dont use the golem.
Don’t really get what Anet’s intentions for all the stealth fixes; first they put an invisible wall on the ship skip, then removed an afk ledge near abomination in the next patch, now they (accidentally?) removed a waypoint, make alphard more annoying soo…. sellers can sell higher now since pugs have a harder time doing it, bosses can still be akitten underwater, lupi can still be skipped, even ship skip still works lol.
But yeah, patch notes about dungeons or fractals would be nice, They used to mention world changes in earlier patches (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Update-Notes-October-22-2012/506037), but stopped doing so. Dungeon team is lost, all is vain.

I learnt of more exploits after this patch hmmmm.
Harpy feathers is next!
Love the increased dmg on Powerful Blades. Havent tried out the new SoS, but it seems to hamper a already slow moving Guardian
It isnt hard at all to create your own group OP, that way you can play the way you want, be it RP or clearing the whole dungeon or speedrunning. Besides its not like having ‘Dungeon Master’ title or full Arah gear mean anything now.
“wipe out dungeon selling?” There wasnt a problem with people selling dungeons/elite area clears/missions in Gw1. Soloing is endgame fun for some. Selling isnt against the rules, exploits/griefing other ppl’s groups should be.
Try creating your own group sometime, there are still plenty of new players learning the runs daily, most of the time you only need 1 person who knows the dungeon to have some sort of guide, and new players that are willing to listen. http://gw2dungeons.net has good guides for all paths. There’s also youtube videos, you can look for Strife’s guides.
(edited by rojak.1894)
Youtube has many, this is Strife’s: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCeh4HmD2Kw. Easiest way would be to roll swamp and try running a few times then you’ll get the hang of the routes.
There are some ‘dark’ areas like Snowblind fractal and Forsaken Halls. But yes, besides ambience some darker themes would be welcomed, much like what was said about Cantha’s slums and places like DoA in Gw1 where you’re surrounded by powerful mobs.
Found this place called Malchor’s Fingers, while its nearly on the edge of the map and has not much risen around it can be eerie.
Sometimes your progress just gets reset.
You can:
1. Populate your blocklist
2. Open the dungeon yourself
3. Play with friends/guildies
Selling paths have always been in Guild Wars, in GW1 it was a normal thing to buy Droknars /Desert outpost runs or sell dungeon and mission runs. Besides its fun to play with friends in a smaller group and have some extra profit on the side. I would never have wanted to do Arah P4 again if I didnt know it could be duoed / 3 manned faster than in a usual pug group.
As for exploits, Anet been stealth fixing Arah P2 lately but its all only band aid fixes, they’ve yet to make Lupi sequence checked which makes selling P1 and P2 so lucrative for those who exploit since they can ‘solo’ a run faster.
I’m beginning to think maybe that design is intended afterall. They have however acknowledged about merging issue here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/LFG-tool-Group-Merging/first#post3217462
I have this problem too.. but I have an old PC. Does it only affect those with slower hardware? This did not occur before the most recent patches.
I tried the repair archive command on gw2.exe, it seemed to fix it for a few then returned the next time.
Great guide. I always appreciate having a good mesmer in dungeons, would have to agree they can be rare in pugs. Would like to share a detailed guide on focus pulling in Strife’s vid that I found useful: http://youtu.be/ajFtp6mnM1k?t=18m28s (starts at positioning part).
You and Your Alts
Hi there, I’d like to get to know how you play your chars or alts, or why, if you play only one character for all game modes.
For example, from most played to least:-
Guardian (main): map completed, dungeon pugging, low level fractals, guild missions, living story, occasional pvp, WvW with guildies, geared ascended
Warrior: geared in ascended, daily dungeons, speed runs, tequatl
Mesmer: speed runs, jumping puzzles, world bosses/temple events
Ele: dungeons, WvW zerging, dailies
Ranger: pvp, mule alt, harvesting in Orr, champ train
lvl 75 Warrior: mule alt, parked at harvesting nodes
lvl 3 Thief: new char
Feel free to share more in specific.
Yeah its a nice rare drop. You can get them from WvW too, and Tequatl. Stats are RNG tho.
Yea had this prob with the 2 dragons yesterday while doing story, had to focus one down quickly the the other as it kept going back to full health.
I’d like to see how it looks on a guard too before I try to get it, wonder how skill 1 looks with the dangling lamp.
OP, its easy to get a full group for dungeons at any time, just type ‘lfm p1 ALL WELCOME’ in your description. Don’t join any speed run or experienced only groups and you’ll be fine!
Hi, i’m trying to learn as a warrior. Do you recommened a sword or shield for offhand? Do I need energy sigils on both sets? I have Balanced Stance, Endure Pain and Stamina signet.
I heard they are giving Lupi roses now
Maybe try knights set first with zerker weapons and trinkets? 0/30/0/30/10 is still viable for pugging and support with condi removal via shouts, consecrations. You can use a sword and focus build and swap to GS. Better precision with knights so you can crit more for more dodges. If you need more survivability add soldier runes, if not ruby orbs is just fine.
Party support by cleansing conditions, F1 blind spam for trash mobs, aegis blocking big hits, reflect projectiles with wall when needed, and pulling mobs with GS, swapping to hammer auto for more protection, burst heal with virtures + renewed focus while still hitting hard with respectable damage.
If you want the optimal setup, berserker gear in all slots is the way to go. The better you are, the more redundant defensive stats are; this is just how the game is designed. If, however you want some kind of a balance, then you can mix and match some gear pieces which have Power on them to find the medium that you like.
As for traits, if you like GS and sword+focus, I would recommend either:
10/30/0/5/25 or 10/30/0/10/20
If you’re a fan of hammer, and maybe mace (mace isn’t so great, but you can use it):
15/15/0/20/20
These traits combined with berserker/power gear will allow you to maintain high damage output, as well as have a bit of extra team utility via traits (condi removal, cooldown reductions on spirit weapons, shout cooldown etc).
I would highly recommend that you seriously consider running full berserker gear and getting used to it; but I get called an elitist whenever I try to make that suggestion, so play how you want I guess.

I like the map Snowden Drifts, the snowy forests there are beautiful to wander in. Frostgorge Sound is also a fav with the Kodan and deep seas. Also a fan of The Ruin City of Arah dungeon, with its wide open canyons and disc shape pillars (?) I miss Zephyr Sanctum / Labyrinthine Cliffs though.
Usually get decent runs in Cof 1, Hotw 1, SE 1 & 3, AC 1 & 3 when I join speedrun and experienced groups. Story modes are okay too, got a mix of 80s and lowbies. Havent really tried for Fractals but for Arah even ‘experienced only’ groups seem to take longer than the ones I got from gw2lfg.com.
Everytime I pug expectations have to be thrown out the window, it’s rng you never know what you’re gonna get, I guess thats what makes pugging interesting. And you could only check so much, like they can have all the correct gear you want and traits but dont communicate with the team, is rude or rage whenever someone makes a mistake.
However if someone joins a game with speedrun/experienced description and camps 1200 range or guardian staff or is not meleeing for most fights etc, I would point that out, most (I guess) would switch if other members sound out as well. As for zerkers or not, personally I would always run zerkers in groups that advertise speedrun, and can only hope the others are too, if not why try to speed run at all?
Not modbots? oh dear, what happened to be able to play how you want, with who you want.
this subforum is better than playing the game today.
Farm SE p2 for the launch codes.
You could run that or a hammer traited build, or a more dps oriented build.
Personally, I still run 0/30/0/30/10 zerks in pug runs for condi cleansing and consecretions, with sword focus + gs Goin full zerks especially important in a pug group to help kill things faster, since you cant expect everyone in a pug group to run optimal dps builds and full zerkers.
would like to join a group. thanks in advance.
Hi, wanted to share a little of my experiences as I find myself in the same shoes as OP. I PUG most of the time too, so I do have some armor pieces to switch just in case.
I did learn alot more about the class after dropping 30 Valor and Toughness/Vit gear. At first I switched my trinkets and weapons to Berserkers then gradually the armor pieces. I’m still not confident taking off 30 points in Honor, so I guess it’s more practice till I’m comfortable with a lower HP pool. I do feel discouraged at times when I get downed alot in the beginning, but it gets better Besides the numbers you see will make it tempting to play
One does have to be more proactive at dodging/positioning/activating skills and paying attention to the animations of bosses. Knowing your encounters helps alot and swapping utilties/weapons beforehand helps too.
I found most of the tips on surviving from the community: (GW2guru is also good if you’re looking for more DPScentric builds)
- 15 in Radiance would give you spammable blind for trash mobs
- using combos like light field from symbols or Wall to cure conditions
- keep protection up with hammer when you need it
- reflect projectiles / absorb with shield bubbles
- moving in fights/staying behind bosses
- Shelter, focus #5, aegis from Retreat / Virtue gives on demand block for the big hits if timed right
- getting your crit chance high for vigor if you have points in Honor
- Sigil of Energy if you need more dodges
- Renewed Focus gives invulnerability
- Virtue tree has good support (Absolute Resolution/Indomitable Courage) and increases your boon duration
