I don’t mind it, would never click it but I find it funny.
Same here. The frame rate drop is very noticable even in instanced areas. I don’t even have Hi-Res Textures on (I have a 32-bit system). Played around with settings, updated drivers and deleted local data doesnt help either.
FPS took a hit with this patch, is it only a few of us? I don’t even have hi-res textures enabled.
RIP in peace o Fiery, I shall transmute my Twilight to Volcanus in your honor.
Save up a sizable amount of dungeon tokens and get exotic weapons from there. Use only 4 daggers/swords/greatswords or staves. If you have no use for tokens (some can be converted to gold for better profit via salvaging inscriptions/recipes/ectos), it’s a good way to gamble without losing much gold while saving to buy the pre if your luck is bad.
I tried placing buy orders for rares but I get overbid so quickly maybe crafting them is the only way to go? I’m saving up elder planks and t5 mats for it.
Data mining showed ley line armor pieces. Prob gem store set.
People werent happy with Flame & Frost’s Molten Facility and Aetherblade Retreat? It wasnt optional and was part of the story. Sure some ppl did not like the group content. But they made it to Fractals. And I’d personally prefer LS2 having similiar 5 man content than short instances like Scarlet’s Playhouse or the ones we have now, it didnt keep me interested enough to replay for the ‘hard mode’ achievements because it’s really bland. Some LS1 open world fights werent so bad either like the Marionette and Battle for LA.
kittening giant eyes went up like a rocket.
^ I suspect this is where Anet is heading. Maybe in LS pt2 there will be a 5 man story ‘dungeon’.
Getting new skins/titles/rewards for playing the game isnt that bad for vets. I’m excited to see what they have in store.
I pug/join “Px, 80 exp zerg ping gear” and likes.
But still i get surprised to see pugs killing SQ in the open and stacking the rest Oo … and other weird stuff
I guess I’m fine with not stacking queen in pugs, but at least stacking makes them melee. The thing that’s strange is while killing Spider Queen in the open warriors start taking out their rifles and guardian switch to staff, this happens in exp zerkers only speed lfgs.
Anyone submit a bug ticket for this yet? If not, it doesn’t do much good to QQ on a subforum that’s rarely read.
Someone already did but I’m not sure if Anet will address this since it will seem like a mistake/accident on their part.
Gw2 is great at attracting new players but terrible at keeping them.
Not sure if bugged or intended stealth nerf from Anet? When was the cooldown added to the tooltip? o.0
Did anyone try map completion for getting keys? How bad is the rng? I’ve gotten keys in a row once and sometimes a long streak of trans charges.
I pug alone most of the time on my Ele fgexploitsword. I’ve come to dread pugging dungeons like AC/TA/Fractals, but overall it’s not too bad if you don’t expect a speedrun.
According to the screenie, completing a set will reward AP, a chest and a specific item?
> These rewards can be just about anything! There are a number of new pieces of equipment, recipes, and functional unlocks that can only be found as rewards for Item Collections, like the new Spirit Crafter back item, earned by completing its namesake achievement.

It’s not the engine, for lack of a better word that makes the experience stand out. Imo it’s the art direction like Stormcrow said, appearance customization and unique stuff like SAB that makes it refreshing from other standard MMOs. I dont know if Gw2 changed people’s idea of a MMORPG, but it did for me as many aspects were out of the box and really creative.
+1 for grid and sorting.
Warrior Kurzick Elite.
Favourite: Arah + TA
Least: HoTW
He still plays Gw2? Worse for me was the ones who merged kicked and gloated on it on lfg.
I don’t think sellers have to worry much since they can use placeholders and take one it at a time, it’ll be just be inconvenient and slow, prices would probably be higher.
Also it’s not only sellers, anyone can be booted out easily with the new system (if no majority vote count is implemented), no choice of protection by being leader when pugging.
This post sums it up for me for pugs:
Here’s why it’s not a lesser evil:
Under the current system the owner is safe and, by extension, everyone else that he/she is friendly with is also safe; this could mean that if the owner condones/participates in kicking to make room for friends, then you’re in trouble, but it also means if the owner doesn’t condone it he/she can cancel party invites or even close the instance to prevent the people who kicked you from benefiting.
Under the new system two people (assuming they don’t change the voting threshold) can completely take over the instance, regardless if the owner agrees or not; neither you nor the owner will be able to “get back” at them because the kickers won’t be posting on LFG, they’ll be inviting friends directly, so not only do you lose any hope of being insured against this behavior, it completely removes the punishment for hijacking dungeon parties.
Additionally you’ll probably see a sharp decline in PUGs, because the only way to insure against being kicked will be to form a group with at least four friends, leaving room for only one random player; so not only will your risk go up, but your ability to find groups on LFG will suffer.

Thank you.
Is there any chance of Spider Queen being reverted in this case? It had a poison attack it would cast at range, and people could melee to prevent it. This was changed so that the queen used it regardless of proximity which reduced the depth of the encounter.
No thank you. Keep it as it is now. Let those fools that still try to cornerstack waste another 10 minutes. I’d rather wait 5-10minutes more for a “no spider stacking” group^^
Because stacking is harder, you agree?
Kicking someone should require 50% or more people. In a group of 5, 3 votes would be required. In a group of 4, 2 votes would be required. In a group of 3, 2 votes would be required, in a party of 2, you can just leave the party.
This. The new incoming system, PLUS this change to the vote:kick system.
Even better is the suggestion further up this thread that it would take unanimous consent – that is, everyone except the person being kicked – to kick someone.
For those who don’t deal with english to well:
Require 4 out of 5 votes to kick to remove someone. (Or 3 out of 4, 2 out of 3).
what if 4 ppl come into MY party and try to tell me how i am going to play? unacceptable
Also for example if your group is stuck at say lupicus in Arah, new people join, you wipe early, group manages to beat the boss but they kick you out after because you died and according to them you did not pull your weight.
Isnt Shazbawt a ranger?
I support, but living story, WvW, sPvP…
How does dropping end reward and spreading it work for fractal instances? The challenge is for groups to complete 3 + 1 boss fractal to qualify for end reward. There would be no need to finish the fractals set anymore if chance to get infused rings/ascended weap + armor chest/fractal skin are awarded before you complete all the challenges as farmers could just redo the easier first fractals.
Black lion pvp end game
With the new update, anyone or the whole group can be kicked by 2 friends for whatever reasons near the end of the run AND invite their own friends to finish it.
And prior to the update they could have done almost the same. Only one person was immune. If the concern is players in general getting kicked then instance ownership does not address it.
Restricting or eliminating the kick function does.
I don’t know what you mean by restricting the kick function, but by eliminating the kick function it would be a pain to continue the dungeon/fractal especially when you are already 3/4 in and can’t kick someone who keeps hurling insults at the group or there’s 2 guys that refuse to co-operate (say half the group disagrees on the way something should be done, eg. someone wants to use a skip/exploit) knowing they wont be kicked.
It’s probably pugs that will face this more.
Wouldnt this change actually increase dungeon sell prices? With spot fillers, he can actually get the first griefer’s gold, then the other guy comes in and boot seller out. So prices would be much higher to discourage griefers?
This just comfirmes people will be people. I personally am thrilled with this change because i had pleasure to do fractals and dungeons with a dozen of kitten instance owners who did:
order other party members to change builds or kick, ordered to change weapons or kick, played tag for 5 min with his kittengy guildie and refuse to press rdy, pour kitten storm of profanity on ele who dropper fgs 1.2 sec later and then if you say something to defend poor guy and say that’s not ok, threaten to kick you, if you ask nicely and give advice to someone who wipes on every single thrash mob and he actually kicks you.
And this is just a drop in a sea of kittengery i encountered with instance owners.
I’m just hoping the vote kick will be increased to 3. Cant tell how happy i am with this update, it will reduce the dungeon selling to minimum too.
With the new update, anyone or the whole group can be kicked by 2 friends for whatever reasons near the end of the run AND invite their own friends to finish it.
Also it might actually increase dungeon selling prices instead, since sellers need to take extra precaution with spot fillers.

just get rid of the kick function and put in an afk kicker.
PROBLEM SOLVED
I believe the kick function exists for the party to organize the group besides kicking abusive players. Say when you are at the last fractal and the group is stuck at a particular boss fight, you get a player that joins without having AR, would you rather be stuck with the player, be forced to disband the group and lose progress or be able to get someone else that fits the group’s needs?
At least we will have the choice of being protected against kicks as the leader, and you can’t steal instances using the LFG tool by booting everyone to give your friends reward at the end of a run.
If you dislike taking chances, it will be in your best interest to always start your own group. Ryan actually agreed with increasing the vote count a majority but “not all the pieces of code around party votes are set up in a way to make this a quick and easy change.”
Hi, here are some suggestions based on what others have been raising. I don’t know if it’s at all possible to program the party system this way, but it would be much appreciated if Ryan could help enlighten us.
Transferable ‘Party Leader’ status
- Player who opened dungeon has a ‘Party Leader’ icon next to their names in party list.
- If Party Leader is vote kicked instance will close / or Leader is immune to kick.
- If Party Leader uses /leave, switches character or goes offline, the Leader status is transferred to another member.
Why keep the ‘Party Leader’ as owner?
- To allow players the choice of protecting themselves from being kicked by starting the instance, this status is visible to other players during the run. So in a way the leader sets the goals/requirements of the party, but is free to leave party.
- This still won’t protect dungeon sellers as they can still be kicked out of their instance, but griefers won’t be able kick them and invite friends.
How will this affect PUGS?
- Party Leaders won’t kill the instance if he quits halfway in, accidentally switched characters, or goes offline.
- Griefers can’t steal instances by booting people at the end of a run and inviting friends.
Additional Suggestions
- Party chat is not wiped when leaving instance / changing maps.
- Debug messages in chat log for whoever joins/leaves (or even vote kick)?
- If not, allow a ‘recent group members’ tab in lfg tool that lists the players we were recently in contact with.
- Allow a time grace period before the instance closes if theres only 1 player (like it works now).
- Add a confirmation warning to the person who seconds when voting to kick Party Leader.
- Increase vote count to majority instead of 2/5
More reasons for leader ownership
Under the current system the owner is safe and, by extension, everyone else that he/she is friendly with is also safe; this could mean that if the owner condones/participates in kicking to make room for friends, then you’re in trouble, but it also means if the owner doesn’t condone it he/she can cancel party invites or even close the instance to prevent the people who kicked you from benefiting.

Then this sub’s front page will be TAFU over again, only in semi-archived mode.
1. With the current system, you are able to re-enter your instance if you dc, within a certain time frame before the instance is lost.
2. Although according to devs LFG abuse is a bannable offence, realistically they either dont have the manpower to investigate all the reports or just dont care.
3. Good point. Story mode should really be account bound and unlocked for all characters.
I’m baffled as to why Anet didnt test this issue or gather feedback from the community before working on it. Hope it’s not too late now.
If you remove them, what’s to stop them adding you again? Blocking works much better.
I’d say Hotw is more likely (78% moar) the least run dungeon. Arah groups fill up pretty quickly.
Yeah it’s rng (perhaps the rate could be adjusted?). I’ve ran teq so many times and havent got a hoard, however I could buy this weapon for 300g off the tp.
Perhaps related to dungeons in a way:
•Persistent chat logs. Keep chat messages even after leaving party and changing zones.
•Block listed players cannot join the party. Ideally, any LFG message would be filtered so they can’t even see it.
Leaving the game for now is what most people would do (if they arent interested in other aspects of the game, already happened to most on my friendslist). They will probably come back to check things out when there is new content. Bug fixes and better rewards/reasons to run them would be nice but it’s not gonna keep people here for long.
I like the rare skins being rare (although it feels like Fractal skins rng somtimes).
Also why does a character that hasnt completed the path before unable to see waypoints unlocked when joining a group that’s halfway done in the path? I dont remember this an issue with other paths.
Combat log confirmed. Though the title of the preview is really ambiguous.
Rank is as unimportant as AP in filtering. It’s more for bragging rights. I agree with ArchonWing, people can recognize a good Commander through his/her communication/leadership themselves.
Please, no, never. Megaserver has already screwed the opportunity to properly fight some bosses and reduced interesting world events like Temple/champs to afk fights.
@Kurr:
I guess you are free to leave, I just didnt expect you’d give up so easily. Though you must understand that these players are ones who were passionate and contributed much time (in making guides/videos, teaching newer players etc). They have stuck with the game for the longest time and most are not suprisingly jaded since devs barely ever visit the sub and countless suggestions/bug reports have been repeatedly ignored.
What I feel is needed first, is a gesture of goodwill from Anet that they will really put an effort to making small things happen (eg, reward balancing & really fixing bugs/exploits) in coming patches but most importantly sincere communication with the players.
