What’s the most common cause of your deaths?

Scrapper, Occasionally Necro. Most of the time getting singled out right away in team fights. (basically any opponent with sustained stability as I’m running Hammer/Rifle)

99% of the time the team I get is all over the place. Either triple capping. Not stomping. Fighting off point. etc. Basically all the stuff you see in amber.

ie. I had a engie once run from mid to home. Ignoring the 1 v 2 at home which he could’ve assisted, then running the long way around to far.

I rarely see the other team make such catastrophic plays.

The pattern I see in matches, is that it’s fairly close to around 150 points. Then everybody forgets how to play.

I’m pretty sure MMR does not exist. I keep fighting the same legendary players over and over again.

Even at my worst in Leagues was 3 wins per 10 losses…

I really wanted to play my warrior again as my main. Back to Ranger!

Also didn’t help matchmaking kept putting me against legendary players vs new players almost every match.

I mean I had fun with trying out my warrior again. But doesn’t seem viable atm.

Yeah matchmaking seems broken as ever, for unranked at least. Keep fighting legendary players (can tell by the wings) against my team that are new, or have no idea what they are doing.

It’s funny because the wintersday activities had a afk system to kick people. even it you set to autorun in a corner.

I guess “wanting to get better” and “solo’q” is a oxymoron in itself.

Should I even be here? I mean I was lucky to have a good teams for a few days straight to make it into diamond, but I’m back to the usual 3 wins per 10 games again…

Just getting wrecked left and right ever since getting into Diamond (although at the same time I finally made it into diamond after trying for over a month)

Or maybe my current mmr just pairs me with players that previously abused the system to get into Diamond and I can’t get out?

I know there are bad Diamond players, but day after day getting paired up with them? is my matchmaking rng that bad?

Granted it took me a month to get to Diamond, I can’t even imagine solo’qing to legendary. I can only hope Season 2 things will be better, but I will hold my breath until then.

Seriously I’d be in Diamond in now. I’ve lost soooo many pips from people dc left and right. This annoys me more than the people who were carried into ruby and diamond.

Was 1 pip away. now i’m down +10 games.

Last weekend it was. for some reason I’ve been having somewhat fair matches…

x1 legendary is only crossing 5 divisions? I would assume it would be x2 legendary for six. (unless the default amber counts as 1???)

That these forums help lighten the mood after losing 15+ games / 15 Ruby pips in a row. Good to know your not the only one suffering.

Had a player go on my team afk, then disconnect. then reconnects after half the match is over basically tanking the game for us and losing us 2 pips in Ruby Division. Then laughs at us for losing 2 pips.

Very next game I see him. Not even a +10 minute que. The heck? I don’t want to be playing with players that tank the game right away???

Well then… The rest seems fairly standard. Although you be amazed how “unskilled” ppl are in ruby.

I should’ve ridden that win streak into tier 4 ruby. The next day I lost it all. I think something to do with everybody jumping on who was carried into ruby. Now that it’s the holidays.

I’m back to being skeptical a pure solo’q can’t make it into diamond.

Eh the first offense was because a family member popped the circuit breaker. Might be for the best anyway. I’ve been trying to get past tier 1 in emerald for 1 1/2 days now.

at least it’s 10 min. I somehow lost connection to the servers (while twitch stream was running flawlessly) and DC’ed. Then it tells me login servers are down for a good 10 min. And I have a 40 min timeout.

I would gladly stay in unranked. However… Anet made a whole bunch of achievements and shiny rewards in ranked… And now I just stare at my progress bar stuck at tier Zero for a entire day of pvp…

Just checked EB Games (Canadian GameStop). They had no sku in-store, and nothing on their website. However the US Gamestop website has pre-purchases up.

Are we getting the short end of the stick up here again? I’d like to only do online pre-purchase as a last resort.

Well I’m not too terribly concerned since it was only 50s, and I don’t recall picking it up before the crash. I know sombody in LA was commenting he lost his gold as the server was back up, but the TP not 100% functioning yet.

Anybody else lose gold from the TP due to yesterdays server crash?

I had about 50 silver for pickup (which I have not done for a hour or two before the crash) and now it’s gone. (TP was not working when the servers came back up, gold for pickup at zero)

I did however tried to buy some items while the TP was not working and gave me a error message. I logged in today and those items arrived, but my gold for pick up still missing.

Edit: Updating drivers seem to fixed video recording problem, loading screen still looks scaled down with black boarders on the sides.

Aspect ratio seems to be broken with the new patch, my monitor is 16:9 at 1080p but the loading screens are now squished horizontally like if it was 4:3

This also has affected in game recording with nvidia shadow play as the aspect ratio is squished similarly. (recorded at 1728×1080 res…) It’s a disappointment as I recorded making my legendary, and my final recordings look horrible when I try to stretch it back out to 16:9

Gameplay is fine however.

So the Naga Hex is actually useful for people with tiny hands? I’ve been thinking about it, but since our local stores never have it I can’t test it, and I’m reluctant to just order it when it might not be worth it. I’d be so, so happy if this were a gaming mouse I can actually use comfortably.

I heard some online retailers have a good return policy. I know a mouse can be a tricky thing. I bought one mouse that felt great, only to find out my hand cramps after extended periods, so I had to get another gaming mouse. My hands are mid-sized so can’t help with suggestions either. Although I am using a Logitech g502 now.

I usually misspress my thumb buttons on my mouse, wasting my heals and utility slot skills. That and a well know misclick/camera turn bug which causes the game to alt-tab out.

yup, I used to have a 1/1 win rate, then it turned into 1/10, then 1/20; Rage quit pvp ages ago.

I do have a itch to play my condi-ranger since it’s only viable in pvp…

i know the higher tier servers have to deal with it all the time, but kitten . when servers like crystal desert get pushed all the way down to the bottom with small servers like mine, it’s just not fair. kaineng, at its peak, cannot even match the numbers of crystal deserts’ havoc parties that they have spread across every single map. no matter what the map is, i have the outnumber buff.

so for this, i bring forth a suggestion: remove the outnumber buff, at least on smaller servers, and just stop letting large servers pour in endless numbers when they already outnumber to such an extreme. there is no reason for it. simply start the queuing when there’s too many on one side.

CD player here; Hah! I feel for you, CD is kind of the same position, only 1 tier up. We have been getting destroyed for months (particularly against maguuma). So it was actually nice to run around not fearing a zerg 4 times as big flattening everything. But we’re against them again, and nobody is logging on to wvw, even on reset night.

tbh CD is a husk of what it used to be.

imo the standard WASD is terrible. Setting up as ESDF is much more natural. That and LMB+RMB to run when I do need to use 1-4

Heh, if Justin’s info is accurate, you’re doing WAY better than me, OP. My win/loss ratio is something like 1:2.5. That’s how I know that I’m really not good enough to be in Unranked (unless I just had terrible matchmaking luck); I only went with Unranked because I needed to grind the Wintersday Reward Track multiple times for the Rime Rebreather before Wintersday was over.

Actually that better than me atm. I think I’ve won 3 games out the past 10-12 I’ve done today.

You sound like a poor sportsman but a very passive aggressive one.

When people are calling you crap, loser, you suck, how am I suppose to feel. I know it’s just a game but it’s hard for some people to brush it off. And it’s completely different from the friendly atmosphere of pve.

I keep to myself when I’m pvp’ing, I’m not barking orders, or directing other people’s play style. But there it is, other people trash talking and picking on others.
I suppose it’s the nature of a competitive game mode, so what can you do.

All I can do is sigh, and move onto the next match.

The feeling that pvp matchmaking que:

-Is broken
-punishes if your not meta
-punishes you if your new or casual

Took a day off to see if that would help… Nope! I’m now down to 30 losses from my usual “breaking even”

I’ve seem to hit a proverbial “brick wall of pvp” “Go Directly to Jail, Do not Pass go, Do not collect your pvp points” I’ve forgotten what winning was like, and just grinding the 500 loss points (unless it courtyard, and the game is a complete wash)

I don’t know what I did, but I’ve broken matchmaking or something…

I played against a anet tag, asked if they’re fixing matchmaking, he said no…

I’d gladly QQ at this point, but I have 1 1/2 reward tracks to go…

So advice? Disregard the daily, try all the classes, find the one you want to work with (one at a time) and learn it.

Problem is. I play a class I like anyway, and losing alot (currently down 21 losses) so might as well do the class daily for the reward boost for the off chance I win. I’m constantly getting smashed by dragon ranked guys when i’m still lvl 50 somthing.

@ Tael, I’m not quite a beginner, but the losing sure makes me a feel like a noob that my team mates get angry at me at.

that ratio doesn’t seem healthy to me personally. I’ve been playing classes I’m familar after I’ve finished my daily today, and ended up in another hard long losing streak. In my mind i’m winning 1 out of every 10 games at this point.

I’d be satisfied if I broke even. But currently I’m 15 games behind that. And on a losing session, that gap just gets bigger. I’m nearing my 1000 game mark, and all I can say is ugh..

I’ve gone surrender monkey at this point. I’ve accepted my losing fate.

Almost done Dungeneer Achievement and I don’t see much reason to stick around. (that and no more monthly pvp)

After trying to do thief class daily for over an hour, and acquired a hefty 11+ loss streak the fun is pretty much over. Only to get worse as I do the Necro daily which I have no clue in playing.

Granted it’s great when solo queue is working and I get a nice balanced match. But that’s few and far between (the worst was 20+ losses in a row). That and poor sportsmanship among players doesn’t interest me to get into this community.

There are a few noble souls that paint a optimistic outlook over my head, but those are few also.

GLHF as I run back to the safety of pve.

they say it’s just a game, but playing unranked all day, and only have 2 wins to show out of over 20 games is severely depressing, and not fun.
