40 minimum games you say? Probably isn’t enough as somebody spoofed his way into first place. If I was currently in second place I’d be furious about now with somebody sniping first in the last day.

Anybody know why this was nerfed?
Without it, it is hard to access the Bloodstone nodes at the bottom of Bloodstone Fen. Which is kinda trivial to get too prior to the change.
Nothing in today patch regarding this..

The points gained in relation to the time it takes to relog don’t really give them an advantage.
Only if your gaming on a potato, Going to the character screen and back into the match takes 6 seconds or less.
Can we report players for disconnecting who are downed, to prevent your team from getting points?
I’m finding more often than alot of players are dc, then re-logging to prevent stomps, cleaves.
Your assumption is linear, and averages do not work like that. Most averages follow a “bell curve” graph.
Say the Y – axis is the amount of players, and X- Axis is the skill rating on the graph;
-Only a few high end players will be at the far end of the bell curve (Platinum, Legendary)
-a high amount of avg players will be in the middle (Gold, Silver, Bronze)
-few players with abysmal ratting will be at the close end. (Bronze)
With that in mind and referencing the general shape of a bell curve. The population would be much higher than you would speculate.

I just park myself at mid or in-between mid/home if teammates are running around. Ask for help / incoming when need be.
Player awareness is still “off” here in T1 / T2 gold. But at least competent not to have they typical noob pitfalls.
Except for those who straight up qq after losing the first skirmish… ugh.
For those placement matches I thought I was screwed, only winning 4 of 10. I was placed in high t3 Silver. And players were more competent than normal (vs unranked). So uh win win?
Playing at this division is enjoyable so no complaints >.> You still get a show with some teammates/players yelling at each other tho…
Ahhaha, you got me there… "Snowball Mayhem PvP "
tfw your teammate gave the beast to the other team at 475-475
tfw when your team keeps pushing far to lose when mid and home are easy to manage
tfw when you teammate goes afk as soon as the battle is over, only to get downed a few second later.
Yes 2 theives by default look grim, but if their player skill > class, class less of an issue at that point. Of course by default 2 stupid dh’s will probably do better than 2 stupid thieves. But you have equal chance of getting that team composition.
It helps if you are flexible and switch classes. A whole team of glass will do no good if they fall over in 2 seconds. If you can bring support and bunker to “carry” a team the better.
There was a moment in season 2 I was stuck in division 2 for weeks. I gave up my current build and switch to full druid bunker, and you know what. I started winning matches because I kept the full ham glass players alive.
You are only digging yourself kitten if you refuse to adjust to what rng gave you in match making. Yes there will be blow outs, but there should be equal chance of being the other side if you can pull for your team.
Record a video of a match, analyze it. See what you can improve to stop yourself from making mistakes, and what skill sets you could swap out to help you out of a tough time.
For example. I found myself getting cc/stun locked all the time, and my currently stability skill weren’t work. I browsed my stability skills and found a trait that worked for me to minimize that issue.
So much for trying to have a light hearted video. You guys are taking the thread title way too seriously.
guess conveying nerfing the player “nerf warrior pls” was lost in translation XD.
If one thing I’ve learned playing season 1-4 and getting stuck in a division. You need to “carry a team” to get yourself out, and work with what you have.
One main issue I noticed with players on lower divisions is map awareness.
Playing against 2 or more theives? make sure you know where they are at all times or they’ll back cap you.
2 or more DH? maybe you shouldn’t smash yourself onto a point, bait out traps, play ranged.
Maybe you shouldn’t 5 man far, while the other team slips by.
Ping/Ask for help when your in trouble. Some people don’t look at chat or the map, but some do.
Team stacking composition can be part of the problem, but the answer is knowing how to counter it.
3dh’s can be either stupid good or stupid bad, I’ve seen both.
Guardian asking to nerf warriors xD
I would take a closer look at that anet name tag in the video.

Well I’m having issues with GS, S+S warriors… this anet employee handed my kitten to me… https://youtu.be/kcyBJ1-BU7c?t=63
Maybe it’ll give you a hint on what his build is? (he has tons of health, alot of regen, and does damage…)
Are you asking that for real? Don’t you see his team composition? lol
Unfortunately I set my shadow play for only 2 min.
I basically couldn’t put a dent on him on a earlier 1 v 1. He had a healthy regen to say the least. I can only Guess he’s running a combination of Power, Vitality, and Healing.
If you’re ok with the JP, do that until you go cross-eyed.
My typical successful run takes 1:45 to 2:15 mins, so in the perfect world of no failures, I’d theorectically get about 300 gifts an hour. (So far my best is 12-13 successes in a 30min “match”)
My personal best was 17, On avg for half hour is 12 on the low 14 on the high end. ( I was doing the drink achievement last year, and bell choir would hurt my fingers)
I would do about 1 – 1/2 hours a day during wintersday it was a grueling process.
Also if it’s overheating, check the fans in the computer to make sure they’re spinning. Fans can die, causing overheating and possibly damaging components.
As nobody mentioned, temp range should be under or around 80c at most.
Guards still pretty much lead the pack/zerg in WvW
DH are pretty much low risk high reward in PvP (even with the nerfs, although there was some buffs this patch)
Thiefs still roam WvW to pick off people. (either staff or d/p these days)
Rev, meh WvW
Rev kinda in the middle in pvp

I would say it’s your “gold” as in mystic coins.
However, you do need a stack of Coins if your going for a HoT Legendary. And seems like Anet is back on track on releasing the legendarys for HoT. So might be a good idea to hold on to 1 full stack.
I would say probably Warrior, as they have access to most of the melee weapons, and have good mobility and health.
needed 40 this weekend. Acquired them in 8-10 tries. But… Did you get screwed over with T6 mats? (ie orich bars, gossamar)
Usually you can make some money back anyway so it’s not a total loss.
The game desperately needs solo queue.
I Think a balance, or restriction to teaming up with multi-league players would be enough.
I mean there was a amber vs legendary a few games ago. At this point I would be reporting for match fixing.
Yeah I know why, but it sucks. 2nd to last tier in diamond. Matchmaking started putting me with other diamond players trying to carry their friends, vs Legendary players.
I don’t mind handicaps, But put me on a team with a emerald, vs Legendary. Is something else.
Explain nobody knows how to rotate, or know the basics anymore -.-
So I’ve been wondering what that camp above Barrier Spires was. So Instead of just jumping down at the end of the Tears JP, I flew over. Alas it’s empty, and guarded by a golem.
Somebody in chat suggested it’s probably a new VIP pass area…
Video of getting there, after completing the JP.

So a bunch of PvE players are going to be standing around a ruin without walls to hide behind? Sounds like free bags to me, this should be fun.
lol if it’s a group on your server doing this!
Necro with Great-sword game play is kinda slow. Although Reaper form is fun/bursty game play.
Revenant is kind of a Jack of all trades class. It can be set up for burst, healing support, or boon support. I personally play revenant more than necro. Since I can give perma 12 stacks of might + Fury.
Meta is still pretty much Beserker Stats or the new Vipers for general PVE and Dungeons.
You could’ve gone either way. 1070 performance is in between a 1080 and 980ti. (anywhere from on par with 980ti, to directly in-between a 980ti and 1080 depending on the game)
There is a shortage of 1080 and 1070’s currently (my local store is back ordered 100-200 units), so you might be waiting awhile if you went with the 1070.

So glad I finished the PvP achievements and made my wings in the first week of this Season. I haven’t touched pvp since and have time for other things now (and less rage).
Gratz on making Diamond.
What I get from this. That especially on weekends, when there are Que’s There will be dozens of dozens of ppl in Que, Afk, and don’t care for WvW.
So why are you WvW’ers laughing at this?
Well at least it’ll even out as this will effect all servers.
Like said, just keep making your daily ascended maps. Also make sure you have enough gold for the 250 amalgamated gem stones (approxx 600-800g)
Also you should start getting your daily blooming passifloria (3 per day). I think you need 15-25ish? Since they’re around 65s each. If your looking to save some gold.
I don’t think there is any time gated stuff that can’t be bought after your finished collection I
More of annoyances like waiting in Orr to spawn risen wizard priest for 2 collection items.
Since nobody mentioned a Desktop Hard Drive will usually be Faster than a Laptop one. If you are abit adventurous you could upgrade your laptop harddrive to a Solid State Drive, or S.S.D for short
I noticed a significant improvement in load times from moving GW2 install from a slower storage Hard Drive to kitten .D
Unless your laptop came with kitten . D, then you can ignore this post :P
(sorry for the odd format, forum thinks a tech abbreviation is a swear word…)

Pretty much why I’ve only been in pvp to do dailies. (and preparing my build for S3)
And yes other other player was afk the entire match.
There was always CC + Condi. builds. Maybe your just seeing it more in the offseason?
Just came back from another failed “CC/No-Fly” organized run. Organized as in only a small percentage wanted to do it. (pittering off to maybe 5-10 people of a full map) With a break bar only getting down to 25% on the first and only best attempt.
Which had me thinking of a few suggestions to fix the CC achievements that are required for meta achievement.
1. Cheap way out and make the meta 9/9 completed instead of 10/10. At least this would be achievable in the long run.
2. Make Bomb CC more effective for the small percentage of people actually wanting to do No/Fly, At least this way the small percentage can get organized and get their achievement without decreasing the difficulty of other maps.
3. Make Shatterer require coordination. Teq, and Triple Trouble require coordination to be successful, so why not Shatterer? Shatter has become easy to a point to it’s original state, Which was camping on hill. again. The only difference is running out to break crystals in a timely manner. And optional bombing, turrets, mortar.
If they made the optional mechanics mandatory, then people would actually work towards the intended game mechanics.
IMO I think it was a mistake putting a item behind a achievement that requires full map coordination. Especially when the majority of people have lost interest in those achievements only a few months after the redesign was launched.
Originally I would hope people would have learned to use the break bar mechanics, after this amount of time. but it’s just not the case. I mean most people are there for their daily chest and nothing else.
No-Fly achievement in regards is harder then the HoT legendary collection achievement of letting the Orr Risen Wizard Priest fail. And that was patched out essentially, and you didn’t need to do it 20 times.
Although I’m probably just a dwindling percentage who wants this at this point.
Farmed TD, made Ley Line tools = Gold!
(although can only make the required charged crystals are once per day… I was sitting on a bunch pre HoT so that made making Gemstones alot easier.)
I am also looking into the scaling of the break bar in general. I believe high population groups (IE most of them right now) have an unfairly harder time breaking him than small population groups. That’s one of the reasons why we need more time to group test this fix before we push it live; we need to test it at a variety of scales.
I know this post is old but is this already in effect? We still have people that want to do “no-fly” zone. but It’s pretty much impossible with only 10% of the map actually trying via Glider/Bomb Mechanic. (the rest pretty much park on the hill and auto attack, other than to break crystals)
Some commanders aren’t even attempting to help with this meta achievement any more. A commander even went afk and died for the entirety of Shatterer. Or park themselves on the hill with others.
I feel this had already become the Shadow Behemoth achievement. With nobody bothering.
Unfortunately I was well in HoT content before I wanted to try out the revised Shatterer. And now it seems too late to do meta achievements.
2/20 for No-Fly zone out of 14+ runs. This seems Impossible indeed.
Is there an actual good time to find a organized run? I’m tired of pug maps with the break bar barely getting down to 50%. even when people want to do it. (as in want, as in maybe 1/8th of the people actually try)
I really hope anet makes the CC / No-Fly achievement easier. Been stuck with No-Fly with 1 of 20 done for ages… (also I’m jelly that I’m seeing alot of people with branded back piece now)
Kinda like flying circus. I can easily get gold time (with full gliding mastery) but only gives me silver reward. Usually I get gold reward on the 2nd try.
I also can say sanctum scramble it much easier once you have lean techniques.
Step 1 – combine/change 1-3 words together that’s descriptive of my character. (from any language that sounds good)
Step 2 – fine tune the pronunciation to what sounds and looks the best text wise.
Step 3 – Google my new name to see if it isn’t referencing something hideous
Step 3b – Back to step 1 if googling has a bad outcome.
Other day a player commenting my character name “Kursuma” was a pretty name. But then I realized I don’t remember how I came up with it.
I think taking a long break is a a good way to get back in. I was stuck in T3-4 emerald for a week, later finally made it into sapphire, then took a 3 week break. Resetting my outlook on pvp.
I came back to a 9 game winstreak looking at it from a different perspective. (either that, all the good player base moved on or quit. Leaving easy matches?)
Main change in my play style was play to carry. And recognize which people on your team is making bad decisions. And try to counter that best way possible. I was in true MMR hell, but it is possible to climb out of that hole and end up with winstreaks.
That win streak has no context, could be amber for all we know.
Pick 2 other classes that your at least familiar with. Go find the meta build for that class. practice before going back to ranked.
Did all my achievements this way. Only have division crossing left for next season. (druid main, Looked up meta for DH and Rev > grind out the 10 wins)
you still have 2 more seasons after this one at least.
Next one you would need to get to sapphire, the last season would be ruby. But anything can go in terms of meta, and matchmaking, for better or worse.
Aww. But I already made 2 howlers for twice told legend achivement, before HoT came out.
Just sit down and relax, most of them are easy to silver, some of them are easy to gold. And only takes about 10 minutes to get used to mechanics. And just leave the hard ones alone.
Don’t stress too much on masteries, I did, but now I have like extra 20 masteries from doing map achievements. Which at that point, you don’t need most of the adventure masteries.
Besides, it takes alot of HoT XP just to max out masteries. You’ll pickup those achievement masteries along the way.

I’ve been playing unranked, after giving up on leagues (t5 saph). And I can say half the S2 Legendary players I encounter are terrible. I’m just sitting here thinking how HOW are you so bad? But this thread reminds me they had a free ride.
Guess I found were all the legendary players with their 1 hour que’s went.
sure loving getting stacked with legies vs noobs.
Came to Unranked to escape Ranked, but just more of the same blow out games, just worse!
Sadly, the machined collectibles are only available in Noxious Pods after a successful meta completion.
Actually there are anywhere from 3-9 pods available at any stage of the map, Even the empty ones. You just need to look around for them. There usually will be at least 1 or 2 in the south lane, Other lanes are harder to look for as they’re more open.
Would you salty little sapphires get out my thread with your garbage comments?
“I’m good mom, I swear.”
Well majority of the player pool is in sapphire. Your at a point were there is nobody to pull in for matchmaking. There is no player pool up there.
