If you want to cry about the daze reduction, which was needed and doesn’t hurt s/d at all (only for the unskilled), then make your own thread. A 2 second daze is plenty, and not hard at all to land.
Most of us thieves are rightly complaining about the ludicrous nerf to Off-hand Dagger, which affects every single thief that uses it.
This game is a complete failure. I did not want to accept it, but the evidence is clear.
Only map with an absolutely mongoloidic aspect is battle of khylo, with the trebuchet.

A fraction of a second less on the revealed effect does not make up for the huge decrease in damage of CnD and DD.

I only play PvP and I’m not very familiar with pve/wvw, but I want to get into it. I need help please.
In PvP I’m currently using Carrion Amulet. It gives a good chunk of power/vit/condi.
I notice that in PvE/WvW amulet/earrings/etc give very little of each stat. For PvE/WvW, how can I reproduce something as similar as possible to my PvP specs (carrion amulet)?
Please answer in as much detail as possible, as PvE/WvW is vastly different to PvP.

You make a mistake with your favoritism and narrow-mindedness. We are all thieves here and should be concerned about the well-being of the thief in all aspects, whether it be spvp/pve/etc.
I only play PvP, and P/D got demolished there. Based on the way PvE/WvW works, these horrible changes actually have a lesser effect on those settings.

Only semi viable builds now are heartseeker spam, backstab, and death blossom spam.
So, in short, our primary OH (Primary, Again, because its part of all our functioning weaponsets) lost 50% and 33% damage, with no reduction in initiative cost. Our broken/non-functioning weaponsets were not touched. The ability buffs intended to compensate us for massive damage nerfs were inadequate. This is the second time you’ve failed to properly address burst, and instead just weakened all us non-burst thieves. Please stop spitting in our faces.

However, I disagree with you on 1 thing. Dancing Dagger and Cloak and Dagger should be reduced in damage no more than 15%
What anet did, -50% and -33% respectively, is absolutely preposterous. And as you well said, it hurts us non-glass cannon/non-burst thieves the most.
I’m not very familiar with WvW/PvE in this game, but as far as I know, this doesn’t change things very much in those settings. For sPvP/tPvP, you’ve seriously kittened most builds that rely on Dagger Offhand.

Expect to see a kittenload more HS spam from DD players, because that’s it for doing damage.
Yep, thanks for the idea. I’ve never used the heartseeker spam build, but the time has come, like it or not.
I chose thief because it is the only profession that requires skill.

This improves the FOV. But using this fix gives me huge lag. Please fix.
Absolutely ridiculous. Elementalist is the most overpowered profession in the game, followed by Necromancer. All elementalist builds are viable and OP, insane damage, insane survivability, and an insane bag of tricks and utility. Thieves are the kitten brother of elementalists.
Initiative is the only reason I play GW2. It’s the best system, which ALL professions should have been made in mind with. It is a system that actually requires skill and careful thought to use, whereas all other professions with cooldowns are nothing more than facerolls.
Ridiculous. Elementalists as well as necromancers, are the 2 most overpowered professions that no one saw, except me. But the noobs are becoming aware, and now we’re increasingly seeing Tpvp setups of 2 necromancers and 2 elementalists. Both need massive nerfs. Guardian and mesmer (both overpowered) are insects compared to the overpoweredness of necromancer and elementalist.
Ridiculous. Necromancers are overpowered, I’ve been saying it for the longest time, same with elementalists. They do NOT need buffing, both professions need massive nerfs. The noobs have finally seen the great overpoweredness of these 2 professions and we are increasingly seeing TPvP setups containing 2 necromancers and 2 elementalists.
My rank is 32 if you’d like to know (rank is meaningless). I play the thief at the highest level, I have not encountered a thief who has impressed me. Several players, whom I’ve beaten, have whispered me and given me praises. I do not play gimmick builds. I’m a creative and intuitive player.
I’m tired of playing tournaments with random, incompetent people. I have not played other professions extensively, but if needed I could easily play one of the overpowered, no skill professions like mesmer, guardian, or variants/gimmicks of the rest. In my view, the thief is the only profession that requires real skill and thought (when not playing gimmicks).
Anyway, I’m looking for an adept group of players that are individually and collectively able to perform at a top level. I’m interested in teams that frequently TPvP and win Battle of Khylo, and beat other teams of self-assigned pro status often.
One important thing: I can use VOIP to listen, but not speak. This is due to my housing circumstances. I don’t understand why most groups emphasize the constant use of VOIP and require everyone to speak incessantly. A skilled group of players that know what they’re supposed to do (and do it well) should not need to speak very much or at all.

Unbelievable how much crying there is about thieves and backstab. I hope (but doubt) arenanet does not listen to these people. They will not be content until the thief profession is wearing crutches.
How is a backstab above 10k even possible? The highest backstab I can achieve is 7k on critical with 3300 attack, and 2-3 might stacks. These people must have default toughness, using photoshop, lying, or all these.

Only mesmers and guardians need massive nerfs. All other classes are fine.
The timer indeed needs to be 30 seconds. And more importantly, players should be unable to change their skills, traits, utilities, weapons, armor, profession, etc during the FULL duration of the tournament. Even when in the mists waiting to advance to the next phase.
Encourage some skill, arenanet.

I don’t understand all this crying about most professions. The only 2 professions that need nerfs in all aspects are guardians and mesmers. All others are just fine.
Unbelievable. These kiddies will not be happy until they see the Thief profession wearing crutches. Unbelievable how many are complaining about the thief in ALL subforums.
My speed is dramatically decreased when in combat with Signet of Shadows, feels like I’m not even using Signet of Shadows. Would be good if someone could do a proper test/video and post back the results.
If I remember correctly, when I used my 2 seconds of swiftness on dodge build, in combat it seemed to nullify the 33% increase in speed completely.

Am I the only one who thinks that as well as having a 1 minute timer, ALL respeccing should be prohibited during tournaments?

Finally someone had the courage to said what needed to be said, thank you Original Poster. I’m tired of fighting 2(3) guardian & 2(3) mesmer teams as well – it’s always the team composition I encounter on the final tournament matches (battle of khylo). These two professions are ridiculously overpowered. When is Arenanet going to nerf them?
