Hi, after the last patch I’ve noticed I’ve been getting hit by a mysterious “condition.” It’s an orange looking thing (I haven’t seen it well, since I focus 100% on combat) but I think it looks like a flame. It appears near the middle of the screen. I don’t know who/what gives this condition, what it’s name is, what’s it’s damage is, etc. Can someone please enlighten me? thanks
I tried finding information on gw2 wiki page about this, but couldn’t find anything.
This video was done before the Revealed change. I doubt very much the OP would be as successful now that Revealed has been nerfed.
We don’t have actual wars between guilds (GvG) either, so what’s the point?

The map isn’t the problem. The problem is elementalists. When will they be nerfed? They desperately deserve a good and thorough nerf.
Ridiculous. It’s been several months and no responses. At least have the decency to refund money spent on sigils that don’t work underwater.
When will this be fixed? If not, refund me the gold I spent on my sigil.
Arenanet is rapidly digging the gw2 grave. The elementalist profession is ridiculous in pvp and wvw. No profession comes even close to being as good as elementalist. For 2-3 months now I’ve barely played spvp/tpvp. When will arenanet get a brain and nerf the elementalist. It needs a real comprehensive and thorough nerf. People have even stopped complaining about guardians since elementalists surpass them by miles – this is enough evidence as to the gravity of this game’s status.
Why do we even keep playing this game?
New culling is atrocious. I will not be playing until this is reverted/fixed. Absolutely ridiculous, is this company even serious?
SoR will go for revenge on SoS.

It’s terrible. No decent, skilled player has the money or (if they do) would buy this for 100 gold. As a result, we only have unskilled and clueless commanders.
I don’t see what will be different. Each of these 3 servers got guild transfers, probably Sos got the most. Things will remain the same. Sos #1, JQ #2, BG #3.
Insanity. The way it is right now it is very easy to res other players, even in wvw where there is a ton of players aoe’ing everywhere. If anything, they should lower the res rate.
Every tournament is the same setup. 2 elementalists, 2 guardians, 1 necro/mesmer/thief.
I’m done with this crap. Elementalists, and to a lesser extent guardians, need to be nerfed big time. The state of these two professions is absolutely ridiculous.
Elementalists don’t require a shred of skill, but the profession contains luxuries compared to the rest, they are able to even 1v3 successfully. They have an incredible arsenal of tricks which are exclusive to it. They have an ice shield with low cd that applies chills on every hit, also have other equally excellent auras. Their mobility is insane, ride the lightning, traits, swiftness, etc. Their numerous heals with all with low cd are incredible. Their ridiculous downed-state. They have all this and more, and they can still deal incredibly high and constant damage.
What is wrong with arenanet? Why can elementalists own everything with just a fart?
Anything but thief.
Right now #1 best is elementalist.
This is something that would make the game more enjoyable for someone like me, who likes to play a variety of builds. Right now, it is a pain to rebuild, re-stat, re-trait, rearrange armor/trinkets/etc in between builds. For both pve/pvp there should be the ability to save at least 3 builds, and for pve automatically take away the money used for re-traiting.
I have dozens of ascended rings, both infused and un-infused. They’re taking nearly all my bank slots. 99% of the rings are useless to me. There should be something worthwhile that we can do with them. Selling them to vendor for 2 or 4 silver is not the right way, considering how hard it is to get them.
No, sir. Check back in another year or two. Perhaps then a temporary fix will be in the works. This goes for all the other problems in this game as well, except for the thief profession. They’ll perpetually continue nerfing thieves on every patch introduction until the end of time.

Time for some tough love.
This is a video game, nothing you do here or in any other video game means anything. They are just entertainment. If you had fun and forgot your troubles for a while, then you did it right.
If you looked at it as a task to be completed in the most efficient way possible, then you did it wrong.
You will never get that feeling of achievement you are looking for from a video game. If you think that you did, then it was an illusion and you were tricked.
Replace “life” with “video game” and the same would be true.
The thief is the only profession that must go full glass cannon in order to able to deal somewhat decent damage. So for thieves, it’s either glass cannon or condition.
Arenanet’s words:
“Class balance philosophies
We normally try to employ metered and controlled balance changes with each pass, rather than huge reductions or improvements to classes. We want to get all classes on the same playing field, and we want to avoid “whack-a-mole” style balance. HUGH increases and HUGE decreases lead to meta instability, and thusly, we try to make multiple small tweaks rather than putting in massive changes that we have to later correct.
When designing and balancing the classes, we try to make sure that class roles and identities stay intact. So, in doing so, we make sure that there are rules and boundaries outlining the capabilities and weaknesses of each class.”
You have the audacity to call the following “metered and controlled” balance changes?
-Dancing Dagger: This skill’s damage has been reduced by 50%.
-Cluster Shot: This skill’s damage is reduced by 15%
-Cloak and Dagger: This skill’s damage has been reduced by 33%
Not to mention the plethora of unjustified and insane thief nerfs you introduced before that.
According to arenanet, “Thieves are the masters of mobility, stealth and high single target damage. They can be very fragile if you counter their stealth with area of effects or large stacks of conditions, but they trade this fragility in order to have some of the highest burst damage in the game. They are able to help allies through traps, venoms and the mobility to flank most encounters.”
We are NOT the masters of mobility or high single target damage. Every other profession now (thanks to a recent patch) has the ability to keep up with the thief in terms of mobility, as you’ve given them 25% increased speed signets or ways to constantly/permanently maintain swiftness.
Every other profession can deal high damage while having more damage mitigation (includes higher health, protection, toughness, etc) than thieves. Thieves, in order to deliver somewhat high damage, must completely give up most damage mitigation and go full glass cannon.
Arenanet, get your act together. Stop being biased and prejudiced towards the thief profession. Stop listening to the hoards of uninformed, biased, hurt, irrational, emotional, myopic, unskilled people unjustly lambasting the thief profession.
Don’t expect anything except more unjustified thief nerfs. The thief profession is doomed as long as arenanet keeps listening to all the scrubs.

Good. Yes, I’m ardently against the overpoweredness of elementalists. Any kid with an IQ less than 50 points can play them and be almost invincible while dealing insane damage, having insane mobility, insane condition removal, etc, etc. Not to mention their absolutely ridiculous kittening down state. When will at least their down state be fixed? I’m sure arenanet will buff it and everything else, as well as every other profession even more (except thieves, they will receive more unjustified nerfs). Good job once again!

The thief is the only profession in this game that requires skill. This is largely due to initiative.
Well, this is just great. Everyone is becoming more thief-like, just with insanely better damage, tanking, healing, aoe, burst, mobility, evasion, etc, etc. While thieves will be (surprise, surprise) unjustly nerfed and impaired even more. You’re in luck, sir. GW2 allows certain classes (almost any, except thief of course – they hate thief) to be able to constantly and greatly heal, tank, recover, block, regenerate, protect, while being able to deal insane damage.
There is an open world in this game? Guess there are more definitions than just one.
The past few days I decided to play some wvw, and most players I tried to kill were repeatedly (understatement) invulnerable – while they could still hit me and kill me. This was not only around one area, one place, one player, or one day/time. This happened to almost all players I tried to hit/kill, in several areas (seemingly any area in wvw), at different times, and to different players.
Crap like this really depletes my morale to do WvW.
What is going on?
Unbelievable. The thief profession is doomed. The mongoloids will never stop crying about the thief, no matter what it is. I will not be surprised if the next patch includes a nerf to vital shot. Because as we have learned, arenanet’s intellect is on par with that of the original poster.
To those calling the original poster a troll, please stop. It does not make you cute or cool. The original poster is obviously genuine in his delusions, and he is not alone – those wishing for the demise of the thief are innumerable. Arenanet is one of them:

I was a hardcore pvp’er, rank 40. Did not even touch pve since beta, and spent all my time playing both spvp and tpvp. I stopped playing pvp after the day they nerfed the thief to dust. I, unlike others, will not stand for crap like this.
Since then, I’ve been playing pve. I will not return to pvp until they buff the thief, and make the profession competitive like the rest. Also, I’m not returning to pvp until some radical improvements and additions are implemented to pvp. Right now pvp is bland, boring, and mindless. When I say pvp, I’m referring to both spvp and tpvp (free and paid).
I asked when, 1 month, 2 months, 1 year?

This new FOV is live already if you guys haven’t notice from the last patch note etc. if you keep using this function, either it won’t do anything now or you’re creating bugs.

1 more question. Is “Defiant,” which most bosses possess, counted as a boon? Can it be stolen with bountiful theft?

How does it work?
Let me give you two examples:
1. I use steal with bountiful theft on an opponent (either a player or monster, pvp/pve), said opponent only has 10 stacks of might with a remaining duration of 10 seconds – that is all the boon(s) he has.
Q1. What will I get from stealing him? Will I get 1 stack of might? Will I get 2 stacks of might? Or will I get 10 stacks of might? Also, what will the duration be on what I get?
2. I use steal with bountiful theft on an opponent (either a player or monster, pvp/pve), said opponent has 10 stacks of might AND swiftness with a remaining duration of 10 seconds on both- that is all the boon(s) he has.
