Well, yeah, sorry for being immature in this thread. I had no reason to disrespect the OP and had no intention of. I wasn’t trying to draw any attention. Just that Pyros just got in the way of my friendly talk with the OP and he said I was bogus. Obviously I was surprised by that comment. But I can’t blame Pyros. It’s just in his nature. Just like me hating comments like that is in my nature.

umm, Pyros, I actually saw his build. I was just expressing my opinion. My opinion has a ring of truth. There is no rule or law forbiding me to speak what I feel is right in my view. Yes. Celestial is useless to go full on. They are only good for mixing it with other armor sets. Not to be used fully. It is a disasterous build outcome if you were to use full Celestial. Like I said in Natsu’s newest thread build post,

a full Celestial= Jenga tower with missing blocks.

I’m not trying to piece either of you out here. I just am sharing my opinions. Like you have just said with me by calling me bogus. Which is all cool. Everyone has been a hypocrite at least once in their lives. Including me no doubt.

stay positive. That was my attitude when everyone kept telling me my builds had no potential. Now my hybrid build(s) are viable, or around 90% viable.

So, this build is bad against dueling opponents? Just sit down and think about how that appeals to all of us forum Mesmers. Don’t get me wrong. Your build has serious potential. But this build will be sort of useless fighting more than one person since you have only one stealth. this is the reality. Unless you have some massive mobility, which is not the case. 7 seconds phase retreat is not nearly enough, you will be running away so many times from your opponents. You should have at least said that you were gonna improvise on this build. I know people are trying to be radical these days, I respect that, which was what I was aiming for in my Apex Predator build, but only a few succeed to actually talk about it to another day. This is the darn reality. Like I said, your build has serious potential. All our builds do. It’s up to the OP to be able to unlock the build’s inner secret max potential.

lol Ok, I just plainly reacted out of sight. I guess people get bored sometimes. I understand. Anyways, like I said, this build looks too fragile, like a Jenga tower that has missing pieces. I don’t know. That’s my current view at this build in its current state right now.

Natsu, I have already learned my mistakes. I hope you would quit talking behind my back. Really weird and funky looking build tho. What was your other purpose in creating this build beside trying to make it good at everything. I’m not sure how this build would stack up against current builds. I gotta be plain honest here. I wouldn’t play this build even if I was payed 50 gold. It seems too awkward and fragile. I hope you can improve on it yourself. It should turn out good in the end if you work out the kinks.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that this build with the pistol was viable for PvP only, I messed up for the third time and I forgot to change this thing to PvP. I don’t know why I am going all wacko with myself these days. I have to really learn to be more aware of what I am doing. This build would crumble against 2 or more people in wvw because of the lack of the one extra stealth skill. I will organize all of these things soon. In 5 minutes or so.

Is it too annoying for you guys? I understand if that is the case. When I see my vid, the moving skill slots is actually pretty disrorienting. I’m not sure how I can be good with keyboards now. I feel that I am more of a skill-clicking player.

How’s the build? I need to know you guys’ feedbacks. I hope I succeeded in creating a viable hybrid build. If you need more proof, seat back and relax. More proof is on the way in the form of massive One vs One dueling footage.

Update: I just realized this a few hours after I edited the build and added pistol. I forgot to transfer 10 traits over to dueling. Stupid me. I have changed the build. sorry for messing you guys up kitten so much. I gotta slow down when I post something. Lol

I’m not gonna even touch this build around anymore in trait wise. I think I am done here for now. gonna keep updating you guys on how my other vids are coming along. I need all the help I can get!

For me, every other class is easy to beat with this build. I have been having a 10 winning streak since I changed to pistol. they were all mesmers, but now and then, I lose because of a careless mistake. If I find out that it wasnt a mistake but the build’s limitation, I try to make it match up to it.

My philosophy. If you can’t beat a Mesmer, you are gonna have at least a little bit of a hard time beating other classes. i don’t want to lose to a Mesmer as often. With this build, fighting other classes was a breeze for me. Except Mesmers sometimes because I make some mistakes. (I am clicker, and it is sorta hard to track them with my mouse. Lol)

Again, the reason why I have pistol is because it gives me momentum. It stuns, and bleeds the opponent so much that they retreat. With torch, you can’t do that. yuo just heal up during that time and try to find a good postition to counter. And sometimes the counter fails. With pistol, it is almost guranteed to put massive pressure on the enemy you are facing.

Update: After around 5 hours of extra dueling against mesmers, i found the pistol to be an overall winner against pu condition Mesmers and others. Updated the build and traits.

Dueling movie will be up by next week. Hope you guys watch over this thread with interest.

EDIT: Reason why i changed to torch is because torches are so so against other Mesmer builds, but when it come to battling a staff condition Mesmer or Glamour Mesmer I felt that that extra condition removal was not of much use. I died all the time. When I switched to Pistol, I was unstoppable. Pistol was as much of a defensive use as torch. Because of the massive bleed stacks and stuns, my enemies kept retreating into defensive mode to heal. that’s when I can get the advantage and own them.

Ill try to capture some one v one footages with this build. In Pvp, I will be using different utilities, so don’t freak out if you see them all changing some times.

Clicking isn’t so bad you know. It just helps me with my reaction time every time I play against someone.

By at least this week, I will post the revised version of the build. Again, thank you if you were sincerely trying to show me the Blackwater build. If you were just joking around, well, I had a good laugh anyways.

After much thought and testing, I have come to the near conclusion that the negative condition duration on me was sort of useless. Here’s why:

1. I have 6 condition removals.
2. I got rid of most of my conditions before they even ran out of duration.
This means I would have done the same thing even without all the negative condition duration on me. This is what I have come to the conclusion of.

Can anyone verify if this is reasonable, or near true?

Ahhh! I get it now. Sorry for making you annoyed if I did. you were saying that his build can do around 60% of the normal Crit. Power build and around 60% of Full condition damage build. Thanks for the tip. I got it now.

Yes, I know, but he can accomplish that well by switching foods. That’s all I was trying to say

Hmm? I thought in his vid, he switches food to make his Ultimate Hybrid build vary. Sometimes he uses critical food for Attack mode, and condition food for Condition Mode. I thought that’s what you meant when you said he does 60% of both areas. I am sorry if I was wrong. Been lonnggg time since I carefully watched that video again.

Haha, yes, because he switches food everytime they run out. I don’t want to be doing that in WvW I should think. Sort of unbalances everything because Mesmer Hybrid builds are very fragile…..

Lol. Might helps me accomplish all of that. My updated build will have a better access to might instantly. Probably will showcase that few days after the PVP vid. Also, why do you think Anet allowed us to have a Hybrid build makeup anyways?? It is because it can be viable. Well, that’s what I think. I think that other people should trust in the power of Hybrids more, and not think it is something taht only Necros are good at in PvE. Like I said, the goal of this thread and this build and the vids that I will post are for the people to be able to accept Hybrids like they accept DPS and Condition builds.

@Colesy. I have a good idea of what I am asking man. I just wanted to know if what I know already matched what you guys had to say.

@Loco. My purpose for making hybrid build is to teach people that they are a total different thing. I hate it when people say that a hybrid build is a Zerker build with lots of condition damage, or condition build with lots of direct damage. I hope I can change people’s view on this matter through a success with this build.

Also, I am planning to change the runes for this build. So as to have only what is necessary, and to buff other aspects of this build that are weaker right now.

Alright ty Alissah. I will try to find people as good as, or better than Pyro so as to test this build’s max capabilities and my own capabilities.

Anyhow, do you guys know if the October patch for Power Cleanse also gives stability to the user???

Also, what is the ideal condition duration for hybrid build? (Overall condition I mean, not just a specific condition)

@Gozzo. I knew I wasnt the only one! thanks for clearing up that for me. I guess I can’t do that much things to improve my mobility as a hybrid spec with the setup that I have.

@Joonks. I know, but I hope that this build might be able to convince people other wise. Once I complete the video and update the guide, I think my content should be just about done. (With some minor changes in WvW build if needed in the future of course.)

Soo, anyone know a good tpvp map where a roamer build like mine can shine?

Well, the reason why I even had the nerve to take out Blink was not because it was useless, but because my battling experiences told me to. My enemies always ran away from me after I used blink, which made me limited in my ability to catch up to my opponents. So I just thought that I should just get rid of them. The enemies that can run away from me are the following classes with swiftness

Mesmer
Thief
Engi
Warrior
Ranger
Guardian
Maybe Ele

Every single one of them seems to run away from me After I use Blink. It just drove me nuts. However, I do have one question for October patch. Does Power Cleanse stability also apply to the user?? If so, that can be an additional source of stunbreak for me.

EDit: I am thinking of either having Traveler runes or full Perplexity and Undead like you have said. I’m not sure whether having 20% condi duration and -40% condi duration on me is ok or not.

@ sckamow, I already saw the forum, my question was focused on this build mostly, with me not having blink, I wondered if Traveler runes will make that much of a difference in combat for me and this utility setup. This question was directed towards my build, not generally. Sorry for mistaking you

Well, I have a question for you experienced people. As I was running this build while testing the Bandicam program, I found out that this build lacked movement speed/mobility. It was very good at 1 vs 1 and 1 vs 3+, but I felt that the movement speed could have been improved. Should I go with travelers on this hybrid build? I’m not that familiar into the area of Traveler runes for this setup. I hope you guys can give your kind suggestions on this area. I’m really curious about how it would affect me in roaming. I don’t want to invest in these runes until I hear some valid information on them. I hope you guys will be able to provide me info in this area.

Dang, how long is stage 2? I think that you guys should shorten it. There has been too many bumps. Don’t get me wrong. This contest is very cool, but I think it doesn’t appeal to that much people anymore because they are either lazy(which is well accepted), or they already saw/voted this thread already. So, if you can, I suggest you guys try to shorten the date just a tid bit, so then maybe more people will decide to vote since the deadline will be closer. just a thought

Also, next time, we shouldn’t do build of the month contest. It should be fight of the Month contest. Where we all pitch in our best recorded fights of our GW2 career and post it here for people to judge. Much more exciting and easier.

Thanks, I figured out the problem after going through forums for Bandicam and Fraps. I am gonna download Bandicam. Gonna get while to get used to, but all good for the community Since this video can only record up to 10 minutes, and I if I want to do dueling vids I have to be able to battle constantly without stopping in between to find new partners, I will do a recording of this build’s performance in tPvP. Gonna post a vid of me and my mates vs some other people. Hope it will be a good fight that everyone and me can appreciate.

Ok, I hope you guys stop criticising this build since you guys never tested it out. I am gonna post a vid. Do I need to say it again that I can only play 3 days a week? I am working hard to bypass the internal lagginess and to post a good quality video, edit it, and post it on youtube. As I have said again, then we can talk all about the build after I post a vid, which I hope will be soon because it is also driving me crazy. And you guys say that I am battling all noobs. Well then, is it easy to find experienced players everywhere I go? I am trying hard to find skilled opponents, but that is sorta hard. All the experienced players I meet regularly happen to be warriors, not Mesmers.

I thought I heard you guys say earlier in this thread somewhere that this build can’t beat a PU condition build because it’s damage is spread out because of it being a hybrid. I’m not rewording anything. I’m just saying that you guys have hinted that in your comments. Forget all of this. I will post a video. Then we can have something to talk about.

Yes! I want to get that video done! But I am only limited to 3 days a week to play. And yes, I understand why people are angered towards me. Because they haven’t been given the video that they deserve to see. I would have finished recording, edited, and posted the vid on youtube yesterday, but the Fraps was kitten killin me. Now I have to use Ezvid, but I have seen that it sorta lags my gameplay every now and then. I really hope I can somehow bypass the lagginess and post a good quality video. Advent, can you tell me other Game Recording programs beside Fraps and Ezvid? (Ezvid is recorder and editer)

First of all, you guys are keep saying same thing too: Oh! This build can’t do well against condition based builds because it is a hybrid! when have hybrid ever beaten anyone! Well guess what. New to you guys, as i have said a bunch of times. With this build, you have condition And DpS. Even against well armored enemies, this build does around up to 1600-2000 Phantasmal Duelist, 1600-2000 blurred frenzy, and around 700 per pulse Damages of Confusin Damage that is enough to do some severe damage to enemies. Add to that, I have 6 condition removals every 20 seconds and I have -50% condi removal. The thing that confuses me the most is why you say this is another condi build and act like it has been explored before. Well, then , pray explain clearly why I never saw one like it. It is not Creative. I know, mine’s not that Flashy New thing. It is almost same setup. What is different about mine is that I went to go to hybrid, when no one else would give the time to make it Viable, and I have succeeded. What makes me very confused is the fact that you act like you guys have tried my build for an extensive period of time. I doubt you guys even tried to get the armors in PvP. That is why I am working hard to make a video of this build. To show you guys what this build is capable of because you haven’t tried it. I know you guys haven’t tried it. I can tell in the way you speak to me. All of your suggestions are well thought into. I just hope that I can tell the community that Hybrids are Viable.

Alright, so I am so sorry like kitten. I know I promised you guys a vid by end of this week. As Pyros have suggested, I think the problem that I am experiencin is GIGO, or (Garbage In, Garbage Out). Something to do with my computer getting false information and then spitting out bad computer experiences. Anyhow, after very much further testing, I have decided to update the build into a better overall build. I have also renamed the build because Enter The Void was from my previous build’s name. And since I have thrown that out the window, I saw it fit that I should change this thread’s name. This build is near complete, so I will get rid of the Testing and Need Criticism in my title. I am trying my very best right now to get a recording of this build’s performance. I hope it becomes amazing when it comes out.(The build’s performance, not the quality)

I am troubled my self for self bumping, but I seriously have a problem with the fraps recording. I can’t get the recording to go over 10 seconds. I mean come on. What kind of software does that? I can’t comprehend what went wrong. Someone plz explain to me the steps you need to take. I have tried the instructions but have failed 2 times over a course of 4 hours. I am dumbstruck. PLz. I have a question to ask you fraps users. I recorded for almost 2 hours today, but when I went to check the video out, it was only like 10 seconds long. What the fudge just happened? I swear that I pressed record, and pressed stop after the recording, so it can save in the file I chose, but now it is like 10 seconds long. Anyone have any idea what the heck just happened to this program?

Well, I have some idea of what I would like to do for Zerg build that doesn’t focus on support or glamour. However, I would like to still continue in this thread a bit more. If you want to show me the best offensive build we have right now, pray do so. I would like to see how it compares to mine. Again, if you want me to create a Zerg build, I have to see the best one yet. It has to be Offensive tho, I mean DPS. This is so I can compare that one to the one I have right now. So plz post link to some viable DPS Zerg builds.

Edit: I really have not that much interest in doing a Zerg build. I hate being in zergs anyways. I would like to progress much in this build and achieve the goal of Viable Hybrid build.

Probably a PU condition build I’m guessing. It is a full stealth, condition build. Specified for Mesmers only If you want that kind of firepower, join usssss.

Ah! Sorry for mistaking you guys. Both the Offensive Version and the Defensive version can counter PU Condition builds and DPS/PU/Condition Removal builds. It’s just that when I separated the build into two parts, I was aiming at the user being able to choose different versions dependin on the situation given. Like 1 vs X for example. Phloww, thank you for your idea, it is very interesting. Might try to tweek some armor as you have kindly suggested. Thank you. As for Deathcon, thank you for posting the link. Saw the build, but I still think there is not that much condition damage to be a constant threat to your enemies condition wise. you have very low condition damage, which results in having low confusion, your only source of condition damage in the current state of your build. I hope you understand my point of view and where I’m getting this from. I am very much glad you showed me the link tho. I am gonna look at it more extensively in a few.

Edit: Pyro, I can have easily up to 9 stacks of might constantly, and a few more possible when an enemy hits me. With 10 might stacks, I have around 3k power and 1300 condition damge. This is pretty good I think.

Hm, Well then, Deathcon, could you post the link to one of the threads that do have a Viable hybrid build? I want to compare and understand what you are saying more deeply.

Again, the purpose of this build is to counter these builds:

PU Condition
PU/DPS/Tank/High Condition removal

I just want to know your point of view, so if you can, plz post the link to some Viable hybrid WvW builds.

Ah! Thanks Atiar! you know, I just can’t stay away from the Definition of “Hybrid”. It’s just like some sort of inspiration for me. I’m not sure if you have seen my posted WvW build. It is Hybrid, and so is the PvP build. Their purpose is to counter these two builds:

1. PU Condition
2. PU DPS/High Condition removal/tank specc.

I hope I got somewhere close to making one of the first, if not the first ever, viable Mesmer hybrid WvW build. I hope I get a lot of feedbacks and critiques. I love critiques, unless the commenter gets out of hand on explaining it all to me. Thank you. I hope everyone gives their share of concern, comment, feedback, critique on the WvW build. Thank you again!
