Well, I am working on the revised version of my Apex Predator build. I am working my butt off to try to balance everthing and make the stats fit. So far I think I have done around like 40-50 attempts at armor combos. Lol. Anyways, if I finish the revised build, I will show it to you guys. I don’t think I can post the vid on the same day as me posting the revised build. It’s just not possible with the type of enemies I am facing.

Just a hint to you all people who are a bit concerned about Hybrid build’s survivability. I have increased the health exponentially.

I think Jportell already knows all of that. He wants to be able to have some “Guardian” ish kind of feel to the support builds and still be a Mesmer. You all know how guardians are great at Support. This is my take on it when he said he wasn’t that much interested at the current state of Mesmers for support. Just my own take, nothing else.

One day he will return, whether it is to stay or to say farewell, and when that happens, we should be kind and thankful to him.

Last four questions: I think. I have tested each and every one of them out, and so I will give you my opinions on it, but I ask that you guys give your opinions on them too. Plz. I want this build to be the Entire Mesmer Forum’s work and mine compiled into one Beautiful Build

1. Is retaliation necessary?(Eh, so, so)
2. Is Mender’s purity with Mantra of Recovery a good idea?(Possibly, statistics are too funky)
3. is having 3 stealths, Torch/30seconds, Decoy/40 Seconds, and MI/90 Seconds
enough to beat a Blackwater build or Osicat’s condi build which has 4 stealths? with torch having 24 second cd.
(I think you have to use the terrain to your advantage and make each stealth count, then maybe)
4. Is 40% crit chance a minimum, or should it be higher?(I think it should be tid bit higher, but I don’t know. As I am seeing this build right now, I think it is impossible to add higher ccrit chance. It just messes up other components too much I think)

I am trying to make sure the build I’m working on isn’t too fragile when it comes to getting immobilized. Since I am getting better overall build if I sacrifice Blink, so I wanted to keep it that way, or try to find out if the cons outweigh the pros to see what I need to work on more.

Guys, your feedbacks are all so thankful. Like no jk, but I still am a bit stumped on What I should do without blink. So let’s say I were in a situation where like it happened to be 2 vs 9. If I get targetted and let’s say immobilized, is stealthin and going the opposite direction of my enemy as good as blinking away directly front?

I actually am a bit undecided on this matter. Sometimes I win 1 vs X with Blink, and sometimes without. So I can’t really decide on everything at the moment, that’s why I came to you guys.

And the reason I am so worried about other Mesmers are the fact that if I lose to a Mesmer very frequently, then the build I am using must be a bit lacking against other classes, too. That’s just my own logic. Nothing else at all. But thanks again. But I want to hear more opinions/feedbacks.

Just a simple question, how would you counter the MH sword if you are equipped with Scepter or other Range weapons(Excluding Staff)? The Invulnerable from Blurred Frenzy is a bit annoying and the immobilize and gap closer is also pretty tough to handle. Just wondering is all.

Sorry, I gave you guys a crappy PvP version build. It wasn’t worth it. Made a better version. Hope you enjoy. I will try my best to get some good WvW footage with this one. Maybe a small group roam. Might take quite a long time tho. Hope you guys get to comment on both the WvW and the PvP build with constructive criticism. Anything will be sincerely helpful without doubt.

I understand your PoV keenlam, but after around 2-3 months of playing hybrids and trying to understand how the heck they work, I have came to the conclusion that Hybrids lie in a very very very fine line of Stats harmony, where one stat is not too much as to destroy the other parts, which I generally felt that the Pure builds were in a sense doing. Getting the Major advantage in one area, while doing poor to mediocre in another. I realized that there is a certain Trait setup that BEst suits a hybrid mesmer, and a certain weapon setup that Best support a hybrid Mesmer. Right now, in the current Meta, I felt that the Best way to become a hybrid mesmer is to Become a PU Mesmer. Standard 20/20/30/0/0. This is where it gets tricky. Finding the right armor combo is the most hardest part I endured. I think I probably messed around with At leasst 30-40 stats combinations to come to the conclusion that is show in my build, but even then I found out that more could be improved to balance the two weapon sets, so I set to work with my build again and came to another build stats change that was at least 2 time better than before for me. I wish to show you guys it right now, but I hope I can be patient enough to wait until I get ready to present a vid.

I have always wondered what Real good players are like. I keep seeing bad to mediocre and just below good players in dueling arenas. It was kind of boring and a pain for my comprehension part of my thoughts. I know a good player when I see one by comparing people like Pyros and Osicat and Vesu and Seven Mirror to other average players, but I have been seeing Tooo Mucchhh average players, that I am seriously starting to doubt myself whether I can spot a good player until they hit me right in the eye. I need you guys’ feedbacks or help in how to Find good players to show you guys something.

Also, I am very very very very very very very very sorry that I have disrespected the BW build. I saw some minor flaws and felt that I had a reason to speak to you guys about it. I guess I got a lot hyped up and felt the need to stress the importance of these things and said them as some Huge Major problems for BW. It came out as me wanting to disown the BW build. Um, the ArchCommando Build on the front page of Warrior forums is a commando build I made over the past few weeks. Hope you get to see it and comment on it if you would like.

@ Hexxen. So you say that I am feeding everyone bad info, when you yourself have barely the knowledge to back up your talk in the discussion of hybrids, while I have been trying to embedd myself into Hybrids since a few months after I got this game, which was last December. I don’t get it. I admit again that I can’t spread my knowledge as well as I would have wanted to in the discussion of hybrids and how they compare to other Pure Builds, but that doesn’t mean you know any Better than me in these conversations. In fact you will probably have lesser knowledge than me in this matter specifically. Now, I still respect you, but when you act like I am a troll even in an area where I dedicated myself to, that is where you step over the line. I would hope that you would stop acting like everything I say about hybrids are false.

Hybrids are the definition of Harmony of two areas, mainly Power and Condi. Many people, and I mean a lot of people, think that hybrids will in the end be lacking just because they Think that it will be overwhelmed in a certain area against a build that Focuses on that area very well. You see, people only go upto that part and stop thinking completely. They forget that that build which Focuses on One area will also be lackluster in another Area that the hybrid posesses, and if the Hybrids is well balanced, than it is capable of overthrowing that Specific Build completely. Now I can back this up by the months of time I spent with Hybrids, but of course you will deny it again, so I have proposed a plan that I will try to get a montage of PvP duels against All Pure Mesmer Builds I can find in Duelin Arenas. If that is not good for you, I don’t know what will be.

Again, I am sorry if I couldn’t have explained as best as I could. I am not comfortable in spreading my ideas behind a computer screen as much as I am directly talking to someone face to face. This is my biggest flaw in gaming. I wish I could have got off to a clean start in this discussion, but I guess people had to point out every little word mistake I made. I really thank for pointing it out, even if it annoys me from time to time because that is not what I was aiming for in conversations. First, I hold dearly to my truth that what I am saying is legit. I have tested extensively with my Hybrid for around 2 months, and around 60% of the Mesmers I fought happen to be Condition PU builds, stuff like Osicat’s and Natsu’s. Again, if you don’t believe I am telling the truth, Test it out. Bring a PU Hybrid spec against Blackwater. It is a fair fight to watch. It might be hard to play at first, but when you start to be able to see that anything can happen, you will win. Hybrids are not solely on Build. It is around 60% build and around 40% skill. You guys are saying that everything I posted is crap is pretty sad to see from my point of view, when I doubt you guys have played against a Blackwater with a hybrid as much as I have. I’m not trying to argue here at all, just saying you calling me in*Experienced*(as you have suggested) is not a fair argument either. I admit I can’t explain as well as I would face to face, but that doesn’t mean you can dismiss the truth. If you choose not to believe it, well, I seriously don’t care. I really don’t. It’s up to you guys, but if you say that waht I am saying is crap when you guys barely touched on this subject, is what makes me a bit annoyed to say the least.

EDIT: Since you guys seem to want Proof so much, I will do duelin in PvP against All PU Condi specced classes. I don’t approve of WvW battles in these situations since I can’t gurantee I will meet them in combat, but however, there are at least 1 blackwater Mesmer in each dueling servers I go to. So it will be easy to gather dueling footages. Again, this is not to discourage the Blackwater, but instead, to prove that Hybrids are under appreciated by A Lot of people. Especially Mesmers.

Back then, I didn’t know kitten about PU builds. Now I do. Hexxen, I have yet to battle you. Wanna duel for some fun in Arena? Just for fun. also to explain during the fights taht Hybrids ARe viable when paired up with PU.

It’s not like Hybrids can’t do everything you stated that BW can do.

Again, you guys never Tested while claiming I am feeding bad info. In a sense, you guys are dismissing your own questions that you are wondering(Except Enderz so far). This is the best I can to explain to you guys. Other than that, you have to test for yourselves or just PM in game to duel/talk about it. I play over the weekends btw.

Ok, I learned from experience that if you don’t have at leastaround 3 stealths against blackwater, (Torch,Devoy, MI)you will lose so very often. I learned the hard way. Torch is good condi cleanser while being exceptional burst when you become a hybrid spec. I’ve seen my torch burst do around 1k to blackwater and sometimes way more than that.

POinters: When fighting Blackwater, go with GS. The counter part is ginormous. Itt’s not even funny. The control and damage taht comes with GS rivals that of Blackwater, and when you summon Berserker in stealth against Blackwater or any other build, it is devastating. Then follow up with iWave and you have the makings of putting up insane damage while maintaining a couple of phantasms. Also include torch, it is just a must against fight with these builds. Veil is unnecessary. Just try to preserve all your skills wisely, and replace veil with some other kind of useful skill.

OK, I will explain as best I can, since I have some technical difficulties with my computer and need to get that fixed as I have said in my other post.

Also, before I start, I never said that MY hybrid build comes into play here. I meant AnY hybrid build

Best way to defeat PU blackwater is to be able to cleanse as Much conditions as he can, which is just trait with torch.

With some form of good Power DPs Phantasm, you are able to keep the pressure of around 3k phantasms against the build, and if you have good crit chance, you can easily do 100 bleed stacks and around 1000 confusion with good condi damage. Now taking into account that blackwater mostly focuses on Condition, which means he lacks most of other DPS parts.

Blackwater build usually does about 130 bleed ticks and around 1-2k confusion, while having around 2k phantasm attacks

While a hybrid build can do 100 bleed ticks with about 1k confusion and 3-4k phantasms against blackwater.

Not much difference here, except the fact that hybrid has better damage compile over time, which means it is able to eventually finish off the blackwater. Not accounting the confusion, because it is very easy to cleanse these days with Mage apprently. Also, you can try to dodge the scepter attacks.

If a good hybrid build has over 2700 armor and around same health as blackwater, then it is all set to challenge it.

Now I’m not sayin either one is gonna beat the other, I’m just saying the hybrid has the better chance of beating the blackwater. I don’t know what part of all of my previous posts you didn’t understand, but this is as best I can to explain it.

Ok, instead of makin assumptions, why don’t you guys duel a PU hybrid spec against Blackwater build? I am seriously not kidding. I am saying that the majority of the time, the hybrid is able to get the advantage and win just because of the fact taht it has better DPS uptime in all areas to use against the Blackwater. Like I said, I respect blackwater, and it is amazing, but it has some weakeness, and I would like to address that that weakness happen to be other builds with good armor, and Good Power DPS with Good condi removal.

Edit: Again, like I said before in two of my previous posts, I respect Blackwater, but his build has some flaws, and all I am ever doing in this post is pointing out those flaws. If you don’t believe go and TEST.

Dear Anet, I really hope you DO NOT make another class. I get this bad vibe every time I think about it. The major problem with MMos like this one is that they have Tooo Much classes. It just totally makes it not worth it.

Here’s my logic. Too much classes is like food poison and stuff like that, where you have too much of something, and you get tired out very easily. We all want to keep one class that is very dear to us, and if you add more and more, we seriously start to doubt ourselves, taht leads us to going around the forums, looking for feedbacks on certain classes, which loses are interests in the long run.

8 is a good number. Not too much, not too little. Just remember that before you decide to try to start another class. Just becareful. Don’t want this to end up like WoW where you have 20 classes. I haven’t played WoW before, but I know that the first time I realized that there were like 20 classes and like 10 races, it lost my interest, because I knew that the devs just tried to please the consumers so much. Don’t do it like that. Keep the majority of the projects to yourselves, and try not to get dragged into suggestions by players whose ideas in the end will leave destruction in the long run.

So what I am sayin is if you can, try to keep the 8 professions as it is. Races addition are good, but just try to Update the 8 professions to their max potential, instead of trying to get new professions every time you start to see us lose some interest. It doesn’t work like that. If you can constantly makes us appreciate the 8 professions we have, there is no reason for us to ever leave gw2. Thank you for listening.

Yeah, but there is no one preventing you from going and tryin it out. I am telling you the literal truth. I have seen countless of times Blackwater making one mistake against a Power DPS specced build for any class, and it suddenly was down in less than 5-10 seconds. It just shows you that you need to keep on your toes the whole fight if you decide to fight against a more Power DPS oriented build

Ah, I meant that any sort of above average Power DPS PU builds have the chance to easily make the Blackwater build to be pushed back. I was talking about other Mesmers, but I don’t really think other classes can get the Blackwater downed very easily. Plus Blackwater can do some serious damage with warlock if it crits, so it isn’t a worry to face a bit tankier spec.

Edit: Against higher Power DpS speccs for any class, Blackwater has to be on its feet for the whole time, which becomes a pain for me lol. Still effective tho.

Yes, it is true. Just that the damage distribution is upsetted and that DPS build dishes out more damage in the long run. Blackwater will lose to mostly builds with:

GS
PU
Torch
Good Armor
Good Health
Good Power DPS
Good Condition

So basically a hybrid would be able to beat it.

If you doubt me, go and take all these pointers out and try it.

Anyhow, Blackwater is a very good build, and it’s creator is even more respected. Never forget Natsu’s contribution to the community even if his build ever decides to slip under its postion.

Utilities
Healing Signet- 400 health per second along with Adrenal Health, 28k Health, and 3200 Armor means it will be exceedingly hard for your enemy to dip your health below 50%. Better Survive equals better chance of countering to win the battle.
For Great Justice-3 stacks of might and 10 seconds of fury is essential if you want to sustain high damage. With Soldier Runes and Vigorous Shouts, effectiveness is tripled
Dolyak Signet- Grants me up to 200 armor and is a great tanker utility. If I get in deep trouble, I can use it’s active ability to grant up to 10 seconds of stability, making it very hard for my enemies to land a blow on top of me.
Shake It Off- Stun breaker and 1 condition removal. Soldier Runes with Vigorous shouts allows for great burst healing and 2 AOE condition removal. Effectiveness is tripled.
Rampager- This skill provides me infinite fury when paired up with For Great Justice. Allows for up to 10 stacks of might easy, granting me further damage pressure upon my enemies. When time calls for it. Swiftness is essential for catching up with my zerg outside of combat, and getting to where I need in just the knick of time.

Armor Combination of Sentinel, Knight, Cavelier, and Berserker allows for good amounts of Power DPS while maintaining the high toughness and health that is needed for Zerg fights. Precision is taken care of by the usage of GS Burst skill and “For Great Justice” utility skill.
Soldier Runes add around 2 k health and provides good AoE Condition Removal potential for my allies.

Final Armor Stats:

2860 Attack
27% Critical Chance
3400+ Armor
28,000 Health
52% Critical Damage

Why not move the five points to Reckless dodge you ask?

Well anybody can heal straight away from just 600-800 damage. Plus warriors are bad at dodging frequently lest they have Warhorn, which as I have mentioned above, does not maximize the warrior’s full potential in bigger fights.

Why not move it to the Defense line for Armored Attack?

Because Power can be provided easily already by the Might stacking ability that comes naturally with a group of players. The 50 extra armor is not worth it. But having 3% additional Damage per boon on target surpasses the usefulness of all of the other mentioned minor traits. Most enemies have a Bunch of boons. It’s ridiculous. Especially Guardians. This trait helps me to counter Commando Guardians and other Guardian builds when I meet them in combat.

Why Even consider going to 20 points in Discipline?

The faster CD on Weapon swap is essential for sustained bust healing. Sigil of Leeching is unspeakably useful when paired up with this minor trait. Also Versatile Rage gives me 5 strikes of Adrenaline when I swap weapons, which doubles the usefulness of weapon swapping.

Traits (0/0/20/30/20)
Defense:
Dogged March: You will be faced with lots of control conditions from your enemies. Every time you encounter cripple, immobilize, and chill doesn’t mean you should spam your condition cleansing utilities and Burst skills(Cleansing Ire, mentioned below) to get rid of them. This means that this trait will limit the effectiveness of those control conditions. Granting 4 seconds of regeneration for us every 10 seconds is not bad. Not bad at all. Reason I say you are going to get regeneration Every 10 seconds is because those conditions are plentiful in Large Scale Battles. This trait allows for -33% cripple/Chill/Immobilize on you, giving you better chance to get back up on your feet and continue the assault on your enemies.
Cleansing Ire: Remember what I said about giving the boon jobs to your allies? Well, if you rely on them Entirely, you are like a baby waiting for a candy to pop into your mouth. You have to be able to take the heat yourself. In order to do this, Cleansing Ire is your best go. With this trait, your Adrenal Health would be maximized, since you gain adrenaline when hit, and it would be very hard to get condition on you. If your allies can support you additionally by giving you the Regeneration boon and supply AOE condition removal, then you can go about your way to destroying your enemies to pieces.

Tactics:
Empower Allies: Why not Empower trait you ask? Well, having 150 additional damage for all of your allies is better than having 5-7% extra damage just for you. Simple as that. Never be too selfish.
Shrug it Off:Additional shout that provides 2 condition removal(Soldier Runes) and burst heal. You can use the empty utility slot for Stomp utility, which is great for AOE Damage and AOE Control.
Vigorous Shouts: 3 shouts from utilities and traits combined equal 3-4k burst healing every 30 seconds. Pretty darn useful with Regeneration boon from other classes to support it.
Discipline
Signet Mastery: This build has 3 signets, 2 of whom is the most important. The Dolyak and Rampage signets. Both are essential to this build, so why not make them more accessible?
Destruction of the Empowered:This trait is superb at fighting against tankier Guardian specs. They are bound to have at least 8 boons most of the time. That is 24% extra damage on them and any other enemy who has that much boons. This is a great trait against one player, or multiple.

Hi guys, I have been working on this build for the past week, and I believe I have just finished it. It is a frontline Commando build, very similar build to the Frontline Commando Guardian build, and in a sense, its counter build. Once you pair this build with the Commando Guardian build, I found that you guys become inseparably tanky and effective. With multiple Commando Guardians and multiple warriors who use this build, you are bound to face lots of situations where you are just dominating. So here it is:

Weapons(Hammer and Longbow)

Longbow is great for being able to scatter the enemies. When they see you shoot your high damage arrows at them, their first reaction will be to dodge, and this limits their movement in the long run. The Burst skill of this weapon is ridiculous. 2000 damage burning every second is too good to miss out. Also, it is good at stopping one single player, too. It also allows for AOE blindness, which gives you and your allies some advantage when it comes to being able to counter strike.

Hammer is amazing. It can hit up to 5 people on each auto attack if played right. That is some serious weapon usefulness. Also the Burst Skill of Hammer is an amazing stunlocker against enemy Zergs. The weapon alone can disable the enemies so well that suddenly, for that 2 seconds stun duration from your Hammer Burst Skill, all your allies’ attack skills get buffed exponentially. They are able to hit majority of their attacks without having to worry about some outside force trying to cleanse their enemies’ conditions and heal their way through massive bursts dealt by you and your teammates.

I just logged into my account, and it says that they are gonna make sure that nobody messes with the Anet staff members again(Code of Conduct). I kitten love it. Well deserved and smart move by Anet. Keep going the good stuff!!!!

Heyo people, It’s me, Menace. I have prepared the video for my Apex Predator build, and have revised the build to the best of my abilities, but the kitten Video Pad software is bugged. It won’t let me export my videos. My computer needs to have a checkup soon by a professional, since I am having problem with downloading programs, so before I get that fixed and actually start downloading other softwares, dooes anyone know if you can get a montage and move it to another software?

Like I made a video project with my Video Pad editor, but since it is bugged, I am looking to transfer it to other editing softwares, I don’t want to restart the whole editing part, and I am wondering if you guys know if I can transfer a video I made in an editing software, into another editing software.

I meant builds like Osicat’s Condi cat with traited Pistol and 2 glamours. (nullfield and feedback) Those builds were annoying as kitten, but now I can easily destroy them in a one v one. Thank the Balance team.

Seriously, I have gone to all the professions forums today, and people are just complaining the moment the patch became Live. I just don’t kitten get it. There are always the good side of each patch, but the people act so childish to the devs, who are working their butt off even as I speak and trying hard to improve the game itself. For instance, guardians, were talking about how they were being the Forgotten Child of gw2 when they were the most balanced class in game. Just kitten stop doing that kind of crap. I don’t expect people to post on this thread. I don’t give a crap if people disagree with me. Just quit the qq ing every time to the devs. About 80% of the people’s mentality in the game is that their class has to be the Most OP class ever and that they expect to see a buff each and every time. I mean what the kitten heck? I swear few months later when the classes get new weapons and utilities and traits, the people are gonna go: OhH! This is fascinating! give me!!!!

Then if the devs decided to balance the new goodies, the classes go: Boo! Screw Devs!

This is what I seriously hate. I know I am behind a computer screen right now so you can’t see how the kitten serious I am about this matter. Just quit the qqin!!!!!! Good, legit ideas are good, but dissing the devs each time you are mad isn’t gonna get you kitten anywhere. Just stop. It’s annoying as heck. I’m not even joking. Before you decide to start a thread about complaining about class, make sure your questions are legit, and not something as minor as: Where are the devs when I need them!!! kind of bull kitten.

All you guys are doing is making the devs more tired then they already are. Just give them a break. they already have the plan for everything for the next few years. Just stop acting like you know more than them. Just stopp.

Do you really think he will abandon you guys and a game where he has the most influence? just think of the logic there. Besides, he has his own interests and tastes in game. Think about the flip side. There were a lot of players struggling to do kitten against glamour confusion mesmers. Good riddance for me and many others. Just try to improvise into a better build where you don’t spam glamours to be able to kill an enemy. Just only betters you as a player really.

Your build is too shaky against every type of enemies you mentioned. Too little armor, health, and condi removal. Temporal Curtain is really not useful, especially if your build revolves around being great at mobility, so you will not necessarily want to stay in one spot and try to get your condi cleansed. These days almost all Mesmer builds have around 16k health and around 2700 armor with reliable condition cleansing options. Some kind of bug that needs to be fixed by way of patch that is Supposedly gonna come out some time soon for my video editing software. Its a pain in the butt lately. Sigh….
