Do not go sword. I have tried it for over 3 hours straight. I don’t mean to be a debby downer but it is not the way to go. I seriously felt that sword was very awkward and not as useful as i thought it would be. Sure the melee clones are great for Debiliating Dissipation, but they were less effective as the Torment and Confusion provided by scepter was. If you learn how to anticipate when the enemy is gonna auto attack you and apply the block skill,(whether they be other Mesmers or different classes) The scepter is definitely an eye catcher in damage and defensive capabilities. Plus Anet is gonna lower cd on #2 and #3 skill on scepter MH. It’s not gonna be alot, but at least its something we can throw in ideas about it.

I know this is sorta irrelevant to the topic, but I am not excited about the mantra changes at all. Lol. What I am nervous/excited about is how the heck Anet is gonna scale the condition in WvW. I mean are they gonna lower condition damage or boost it or what? I hope its not lowering it. Cross fingers on that one.

Blessing of the Hydra: If dipped below 30% health, summon 2 clones that replace the one that you lose(effected by self replacement), and make them act as a shield that absorbs all forms of Damages(Condition and Power)

Increases the health of those illusions by 100% during the duration.
Trait duration:10 seconds. (Compatible with Crippling Dissipation and Delibiating Dissipation, but clones are non shatterable)
Overrides the number of clones being able to be cast.

How would you deal against other stealth hybrid builds? staying behind them is useless since they stealth so much, and if they happen to have more reliable condition removal than you, you are bound to be in trouble. Curtain combo is very fragile as it occurs every 90 seconds. Also there is no guarantee condition appliance will be stopped once you cleanse them. I feel that this is the build’s major weakness. Got any explantion? Please answer as soon as possible.

Mr. ChaosArchangel. I am sorry to bother you. You have said that you will put 10-15 hours into each build, and I know that is a lot of your time you are spending for us, and I am ever greatful for your kindness over the past year, but could you take a look see at my Apex Predator Build After the Patch? I want to see what the changes will be and update the build to its specific needs. Much will be appreciated. But don’t spend 10-15 hours on my build. There is no need to. Just spend like 2-3 hours on it is cool. Good luck on your future ambitions!

Sorry Lahel, like I said, even if you weren’t saying what I thought you were saying, you shouldn’t call a build trollish unless the OP said it was for trolling reasons. It just discourages them a bit. If it is trollish in your opinion, give further reasons to why you think that and how to imrove it.

I personally thought that Lahel calling his build troll worthy was sort of calling Donda a troll, since I get the feeling that’s not at all the reason he posted this build. Anyways, good luck to Donda. If this is for PvP, I suggest going with berserker. Your weapons are geared towards condi, and if you have massive Power DPS, the condi will just follow along pretty well. Just because of the sheer fact that all your weapons are condi based in some way.

Hey Lahel! As much as I respect you and your build making skills, too, you have no right to call someone a troll unless they directly engaged you and annoyed the kitten out of you. This person here told you that this was his first attempt at a build. So what if it looks funky right now. The weapons sets are solid. All he gotta do is change some armor stats and 1 or 2 utility skills and he is good to go. Again, like I said, I respect you too, but you shouldn’t try to down a player when it’s his first time posting a build he made up. It ridiculously discourages them.

Does anyone have any clue how the Direct Power damage and Condition damage is gonna be changed in next patch? Like if Power gets stronger while condi gets weaker, or if Condi gets stronger and power gets weaker, or if both get stronger or both get weaker.

Dang, you are one good warrior. I know this just from you and my difference on the whole build outlook. Got a long way to go if I want to be as good as the rest of the skilled Warriors!.

I know this is sort of off topic on this build but I also am interested in Commander builds. Does anyone have a clue on what a Commander build looks like for warriors? Weapons
Longbow/Axe-Shield

I think of this weapon set as my fail safe feature. They correspond well together in the fact that each set protects the other. So lets say I used Longbow and was about to be overwhelmed, then I switch to Axe-Shield to gain some health from blocks, stun an enemy, and dish out insane damage. Upwards of up to 5k and beyond. That takes care of the situation most of the time for me. If the opposite happened and my Axe-Shield failed to be of use, then I just switch to Longbow for the Constant burn, Blind, and 3 seconds of immobile to catch my breath. Then the sequence continues until my opponent makes a mistake, or I finish the job.

Utilities
Healing Signet/Dolyak Signet/Signet of Stamina/Berserker Stance/Signet of Rage

Healing signet does 440 health gain passively

Dolyak Signet provides me insane armor and insta stun break

Signet of Stamina provides me 2 seconds faster dodge roll time and insta condi cleanse

Berserker stance provides immunity to condi and fast Endurance regen for better healing from Adrenal Health and one extra Burst skill.

Signet of Rage along with Lyssa runes is devastating(insta condi cleanse and all boons for 5 seconds. I love stability). With the Faster Signet CD trait, I have good use of all of my signets.

Traits
0/20/30/0/20

With this build, I have max use of all of my traits. 50% additional crit chance with stun allows for 100% Crit chance for Axe Burst skill. Which, like I said, makes the most of that burst weapon set (Axe-Shield) Also the 40 precision per signet is ideal for all of the signets that I possess.

Going 30 in Defense means Adrenal Health, and Defy pain. Which go along together very well. Also the faster cd on Shield is good for gaining health, and stunning enemies like crazy.

Going 20 Discipline allows for faster cd on Signets and immobile break when using dodge. The five second weapon swap is very well needed for the Fail Safe to work on my weapon sets to perfection.

Yeah, thanks a bunch man. I am working on editing the vid right now to post on my original thread. Apex Predator I got some good dueling footages. some people wanted to fight me 3 times in a row, so I beat all of them easy. Ha. They were good players tho. Much respect to them. seriously.

Anyways, yeah I could go for BI. Then I could get 17 stacks of might easy(9 from weapon swap, 3 from number 2 GS, and more from Diversion, and another from my signet.) This would result in around 3400 attack and condi damage upwards of up to 1600. Yeah, I think i might change that around a bit. I just wanted a tiny bit reduced cd on blink. I guess it isn’t as much as I would receive on going with BI.

Also, going with Hybrid as ranged is the best in my opinion. Just because all your ranged attacks are frickin like doubled. Lol. I know. And ranged weapons are more useful overall than meelee in the areas of Condi/Control/and Power DPS

I go Scepter/Torch GS build. Look in the Apex Predator build and you will see. on Page 3 or something of Mesmer Forums. Reason I love range:

GS does insane damage and control. 1 knockback and cripple. This allows for me to drive my enemy away from me when needed, and also to bring them closer to me by tempting them to use Blurred Frenzy on me by staying in GS longer. Then I just have to dodge the chain, stealth, and swap to scepter for crazy condition and power DPS attacks. This is why I run all ranged weapon builds. They are OP. This is just my opinion of course. You can run sword MH if you want the 2 seconds of invul and potential gap closer for iLeap. Also the immobile, but they are all easy to dodge with blink

@ Gozzo. I know, but my definition of hybrid is Focusing on 2 things. So me going Power/Condi with 2 sources of interrupts don’t make me a Lockdown build, too, since my build’s focus doesn’t revolve around that. Thanks for your point of view. It was nice to see other people’s opinion on the definition of Hybrid.

Any build can be hybrid, as long as it Truly focuses on being Great at two different areas.

What I am saying is there weren’t many hybrid builds on the Mesmer forums when I first came to the Mesmer class, a few months ago, which is true. (Mesmer was actually my first class) I hope you guys have more cool ideas. These are really good stuff. especially blustein. Very interesting build. Very Very cool. Seriously.

If you are thinking about the Oct.15th patch, just post what the blueprint of your build will look like, so that we can improvise it and get it ready for the patch when it comes.

Edit: Like I said, hybrids can be any combination of types of builds you choose. There is no right or wrong builds for Hybrids. The only type of builds where anything goes if it happens to work are hybrids.

Hello, I am Menace, or Menathion in the game. I love hybrids. Let’s just get to the point. If you make a hybrid build right, it become near impossible to defeat. I know a lot of people are a bit timid of introducing their hybrid builds in Mesmer forums because they have no background knowledge of how hybrids should work. I didn’t have any clue too, because there were barely any threads about hybrids when I first came to the Mesmer forums.

So what I did was try to relate what other classes had of Hybrid builds to what we could accomplish in our class, the Mesmers. Now, I am not here to draw attention or anything. I am sincerely curious to see how many people out there actually play a Hybrid instead of Condition, Power, Support, Lockdown, etc. In my standards, hybrid means combining at least 2 of the given types of builds and making them combine into one harmonious build. So Hybrids can be either Power/Condition, Support/Power, Condition/Support, Support/Lockdown, etc. Trying to combine 3 of these things are near impossible. As you will greatly disrupt the 2 main types of areas you are focusing on. But I could be entirely wrong. This is what I love about hybrids.

So plz post your hybrid builds below and comment on the one above you. When you talk about your own build, plz tell us what it is hybrid for(ie. Condition/Power,etc)

(Power/Condition) The Most Classical Hybrid Combo

Do not go for the precision based foods. you already have enough. Either go for Vitality/Toughness foods, or Condi duration/damage foods. If you want to find some possible stats outcome for a hybrid build, go check out my thread in my signature below. It only helps you grasp the final stat outcome of a hybrid build.

First of all, you have GS. The clones hit 3 times. 3 chances for your clones to inflict bleed. That said, around 44-50% of crit is enough. Then you have plenty of other stats to make up for. Armor and Vitality would be a start. If you feel taht you need a guide to help you in your hybrid adventure, go look at my signature below. It is to a thread where I made a hybrid build. iF you can, comment on it while your at it. You don’t have to, as it is for you to find your own way into making a hybrid build through other threads and your own knowledge.

You have to realize that alot of players out there are Mesmers and very mobile classes now. They are able to keep constant damage,mobility, and damage reduction based on their pure stats or class mechanism. Most builds these days have some kind of condition, like yours does. If you were to go head to head against maybe 2 people, you would crumble quickly. Staff is probably better if you want to preserve that type of phantasm damage and still be a bit defensive and have better mobility. You should really think about how to counter Other dps builds. There are lots of viable lockdown builds that would make you downed in 5 seconds or less. A lot of people these days go full dps because they believe they can finish an enemy quick enough to get the win. Those people are either very skilled, or very foolish and noobie. Better safe than sorry. Get more armor and vitality. Also, think about how this build would compete against other builds. (Condi, bunker, DPS, PU,etc). Never try to go full one armor set. unless you are condition or something. It just totally breaks everything else apart. Mix some armor stats, experiment with theorycrafting, then you will definitely land on a build that is successful.

This question has been killing me lately. Cause of something I will do later in this week.

If you were to fight another PU condtition Mesmer with 4 stealths, will I have a chance to beat them if I have only PU 3 stealths, and a Long Range and short cd on Blink? I am thinking of ditching Cleansing Configration trait and just have Power Cleanse to replace the extra stealth with a condi removal skill

Edit: Never mind. As the recent iMage threads suggest, there is way more pros in having cleansing configuration than the pros that come with having 1200 blink range.

I wouldn’t do that if I were you. Having great Power DPS is good. If you add passive confusion it is great, but the next patch will have icd on 6/6 perplexity runes. It will probably be around 5-10 seconds of cd. maybe more. I personally would think this will be a bad idea since it is not consistent anymore. Better to have actual condition weapons sets I should think.

I can count on everyone here to submit their newly revised builds on November. I just hope that the people who aren’t gonna submit a build will at least join in the fun of trying out/grading a build. Also, I hope that the prizes for November BotM will be more appealing to a lot of those who are joining the Mesmer forums for the first time, or even for experienced players here. There should be a way for Spectators/Graders to also have a good deal of fun.

How about a duel fun fest 10vs10 every week from the start of each month’s BotM until its end.

Bring your suggestions here. As it will greatly help Keenlam and the others to plan out everything.

I really hope they have some other patch includements for Mesmers besides Mantra Support. they are good, but not very interesting for me and a certain number of people in particular. So the condition will be scaled properly. Does that mean it will be increased, or decreased? If it is increased, it will be a major buff to all builds out there that utilize some form of condition.

I only made this thread because I wanted other people to get recognition. There are lots of people in this Mesmer forum that just looks over the whole events. Not sure whether or not to pitch in because of being afraid of being criticised.

Reason I made a separate thread was because so people who have yet to even post on the Mesmer forums could feel at least a bit comfortable posting, since there is not that much pressure involved in talking about BotM outside of the Original thread.

Also, I don’t get why my build just comes into play here. Apex Predator was just an inspiration from a movie I liked. I didn’t come up with it…..

And yes, I know the New patch in October 15th needs some playing into. As I have said in one of the above posts, this thread was to gather people who are still interested and continuing this event.

Again, this whole idea is not for me. I don’t care. If I did, I would have done anything to get my build into the September build of the Month. Obviously keenlam is the leader in all of this. To my surprise too, I am not doing this for me. I saw some posts on the Official OMFG BotM contest thread that people were a bit sad to let the October one go. I want to make this thing an actual monthly basis thing. We are like the only class to do this and we should be happy that we can do it. As for the October 15th patch talk, I know what you are saying. I just wanted the people to not lose hope/interest in the BotM contest for months, maybe years to come.

I agree with Joonks a second time. We never really think about what we are complaining about and just throw all our minor class problems on the thread so that the Devs can ignore. Good ideas every once in a while are great, but the fact that people continue to complain from one patch to the next is what makes the Devs less enthusiastic on improving the class.

Imagine you were the devs, and you are probably working your butt off suggesting ideas to your bosses, and you see that players complain to your every idea, not realizing that they are part of a bigger picture. This would probably make you less inclined to help these players. Just sit tight and enjoy the ride. If you see a Major fault and want to suggest/question to the devs. That is fine. But little problems like this is unneccessary.

I get this vibe from the community that they are a bit sad and bitter because Build of the Month contest won’t be held in october. It’s not too late to change that people. I know you guys have awesome builds. I saw them. They are mucho amazing. A lot of good builds out there I feel that deserve to be in contests. I think alot of the people who didn’t vote or participate were sort of afraid of the criticisms they might recieve, or the fact that they will be out in the first round, or maybe you guys were not interested in the prizes that followed the winner. I think that if people vote on this thread to upheld the October one, it will be an even grander outcome than this one. This month’s contest we learned a lot from. Now we can improve on it. If we band together as Mesmer players, we can make an event that even Anet would approve of. So, whadya say guys?

If mesmers were masters of condition manipulation and still did everything else well, then the whole game would consist of Mesmers. thus it will become Alpha Mesmer Wars 2.

If you can perserve your utility skills in a duel, and know when it is ok to take some damage, so that your long term survive is increased, well, that is better than having a million condi removal at your disposal and just spamming all of them each time you see one condi pop out on your character.

Yes, this is very true. I have found that DPS stealth Mesmers are more dangerous now then ever. If I even mess up one second and they get to stun me, I lose around 50% of my health. Very dangerous build to go up against.

Swiftness is not that great in my opinion just because you aren’t gonna need it alot. Only maybe if you want to have a run away option or you want to kite faster. Your choice Bunda.

Update: Made some tinkering with the Armor. Turned out better than I ever expected.

Signet of Domination is not mandatory, with the 10 stacks of might, you will still do 100 bleed ticks.

Alright, I’m sorry if I kitten ed off the whole lot of you. I seriously wanted to point out that OP’s build could be dramatically better if he could do both these things very very well. After all, you are bound to meet an enemy player in WvW while you are by yourself. I just wanted the OP to know that his build doesn’t have to be bad at 1 vs 1. His weapon setup was good for doin 1vs1 if he just made some few clicks and changed his armor stats.

Just explain to me where I messed up. All you guys are saying is that I am wrong. All I was trying to say was that a good zerg build should also be able to hold his own against other skilled players with good builds. Just stop acting dumbfounded at me and tell me where I went wrong.

I clearly had my reasons for not liking its current state. I don’t have the time to quote right now so i will get onto it. I stated that this build lacks the good mobility and toughness to handle a solo player. around 90% of the zerg build out there can do both of those things. I wanted the OP to realize that he could maximize his trait line if he just tweeked some stuff. Everyone here knows that full Celestial is bad. Don’t you think I would have thought of that when I first saw this post?? So I just added that he should do better in the areas of solo roaming so he can pickup a needy player as he tries to find a zerg. Then you come along and said that my ideas are ridiculous. How is it not worth talking about? I’m just trying to help a player out and you guys are calling it foul play almost. It is getting very confusing.

Well, i was just saying that it should be tweeked so it can be good at both areas. I wasn’t going out of the way to say that I was gonna take over this thread and revise his entire build. It’s the op’s job to do that. I don’t get why you are putting words in my mouth pyros. I thought we were past that by now.

I’m not talking about the issues of how this build handles other zergs. I’m worried that when you do engage on someone even by accident, you will have a very tough time trying to survive, or try to get away without dying. I am just saying that you can make small adjustments to this build so that it become good at handling zergs, and handling roamers. This is what I want the op to accomplish. I was only trying to say this. His zerg purpose is fulfilled, but his roaming purpose is diminished because all his attention is on zerg fighting. I get that you lead zergs, and I admire your confidence. I just think it is a bit weird for my taste that how mighty this build is in zerg, but how it is bad in
1 vs 1. A good leader is good at everything. So let’s say you see a comrade surrounded by 2 people. Your natural instinct would be to save him or try to help him. If they suddenly switch their attention on you, you wouldn’t be that much of a help to your friend since you are too busy trying to get away/survive.

Yes, I understand. I know that you can just run. But I understand what that feels like. It sucks having to run away from your enemy if it means being further separated from your group, which is a possibility. I just don’t want OP to have to frickin suffer that. His build will be a one shot kill by a thief too. They can catch up to him no matter what. Same with engis if they are smart enough. I just want to get the message to OP that he needs to think about how this build will affect the rest of his group and himself. It is a bit dangerous to roam around with that low of a toughness. He might die before he even gets to his zerg group.

Well, this is my point of view. You all act like once you create a build for a specific purpose in WvW, you expect to see that build fulfilled in that process. You guys never really give a second thought about what might happen in WvW. If you make a support, you think you are gonna be in a zerg every time. If you make a condition you guys think you are gonna solo roam every time. I am just pointing out here of what might happen if OP was to fight a decent player with this build. He will crumble. That is what I was trying to say. You guys are too believing in your builds. I made 2 builds for my Apex Predator build so that their can be counter measures for different situations you feel you might encounter. that is what I am trying to tell the OP and everyone else in this thread. Always think about what bad might happen, instead of all the good things that will come your way through this build. That is too much of a one-way thinking.

If you still think I am bluffing, let’s apply this in real life. Let’s say you brought short pants and sleeve shirts outside. It can be rainy or sunny, you never know. That means if it were to be rainy, you are gonna be drenched and sick and likely at home for the rest of the week. What I am trying to emphasize here is that don’t go around thinking that everything is going to be suited to your build. Anything can happen in WvW.
