Is GW2 dying? Just a question, no hate

No. (short answer)
GW2 was experiencing a content drought- alot of players are sitting back from this game for a while, because they can (And return when they want to!)
A new Living World chapter is coming our way 07/26/16… this should keep most occupied and playing until they burn through it in a week…just kidding!
Mo has set into motion a different way of delivering content that should refresh the game.

Taimi’s got some real need of a head doctor.
She lost so much, and actually gained very little for such a tiny progeny.
Her big golem, and best friend she built- gone.
Her mobility, (and life due to a debilitating condition)- gone.

And…the chak may have developed mesmer powers and are making her think these are asurans wondering around and bumping her, when it is just chak- living beside her- watching, absorbing the ley-line fluxes as she does….
And- ‘Plant’ is a remnant of a piece of Marshal Treaherne, that flew alllll the way to Novus on a shear of ley line energy, and rooted there..in Taimi’s new lab…
And..the egg of Glint is very curious of this young Asuran girl..and felt her loneliness all the way in Tarir, and ‘created’ some companions for her.

Hmmm- It was somewhat revealed that the Elder Dragon in the waters name begins with the letter ‘S’—(assumption, but we will run with it)
And some of the underwater weapons I personally use are of Inuit carvings- (Killer whale)- I might say the name : Sedna, goddess of the sea—from Inuit mythology— It’s an English translation, but wasn’t Tyrian translated to English by our lore gurus anyhow?

I actually think the Elite Specs were kind of clever.

Anet can potentially make hundreds of different types of professions based on the existing 9 class archetypes, while keeping the amount of work to a minimum.

As in GW- you had a ‘secondary’ profession, (GW2 elite spec)- there are so many delicious combos to work with!
(Just remeber ANet, keep PVE and PVP separate!!)

Just thought I would pop in the forums and make a quick response here:
First question- I am still trying to wrap my mind around the ‘fact’ alot of gamers are having such a knee jerk reaction to an ‘interview’ from someone or something called ‘Aurora.net’? Is this interview even verified as an Arenanet source? Please do correct me in my ignorance.
Second question: Didn’t we all want a little nibblet of information concerning a ‘cycle’ of when LS updates would be? You can’t please everyone all the time, but a small bit of VERIFIED information is always welcomed.
And finally- I love this game. I purchased HOT when it released- I AM getting my monies worth of entertainment for my $100./ I am far from rich-lol- but I do think I have invested in a fun, quality game, that continues to hold my attention.
So keep the updates coming ANet, I will be awaiting the goodies when they are ready to be presented to me.

A new toy, the Beetle. It will be like the Beetles that the frogs in HoT ride on. Basically it’s a magic carpet rework where the person sits on top of the Beetle instead of the carpet.

The ‘New’ Lions Arch would certainly survive… mostly intact… when ‘Bubbles’ comes to call at the docks—-
But, IMHO..the last 2 Lion Arch designs were too cluttered- and dark- even with torches everywhere- it was always hard to see anything.
The White Mantle had the ‘original’ design just right..lots and lots of military barracks
(But leave the beautiful singing fountains we have now please)

Please bring back the ‘Golden Wings’!
(With a little more ‘golden’ light to them)
Or, a celestial pair- like a ‘real’ Paragon used!

Honestly, this ‘decoration’ looks like a stolen thorn pedestal floor used by the original druids in GW1- remember those sssssslowwwww walking tree guys you had to keep alive?- It’s their rock from original Maguuma jungle. (At least that’s what it looks like to me—- lay it flat)

I spend the majority of my precious gaming time (I work full time) In Auric Basin.
My gear is mostly exotics, for I have no use for ascended gear outside of fracs and WvW.
Frogs stomp, I dodge. Snipers shoot at me, I dodge. Crazy flipping saurians run at me- I run away faster.
I am an ‘older’ gamer approaching my 6th decade, and I feel like a kid again playing video games!
So yes, some areas are more difficult than others, and a squad is to your advantage.
But to play solo? No. The more appealing part of this game for me is the people, the art, and the hilarious things people say in map chat
Keep calm, and play on!

Don’t forget Tybalt!! (Not a sylvari, but still an important new ‘playable’ race)
He was our beloved (Order of Whispers) partner until his final act of courage!!

This is both a list of questions as well as a request. The questions first:

Does Anet monitor the amount of gold people have and make?
Does Anet think it’s fine if someone has 100k gold, buys up all perma items on the TP and puts them back up one by one for 2-3 times as much as they were before?
Will there ever be a top limit of gold one can own per account?

Something needs to be done about this. It’s so unbelievably sad that the economy in this game is just the same as in real life. The poor will always stay poor and the rich will forever get richer. Why is this allowed to happen? Why is there no system in place to keep things fairly priced?

I am not lazy. I am actually working hard for my gold in GW2 (which is sad in itself). But with this stuff going on it will be forever impossible for me (and 99% of players) to ever catch up. I can never make enough gold because I can only do it slowly and by the time I get close to buying what I want it gets bought up and relisted at 2 or 3 times the price.

The game is fun, and if RNGezus smiles upon you- you get that uber rare skin, sell dat puppy, and you have more than enough gold to get what you think you want…it’s all in the fun of ‘playing’ the game..not working it like a (gag) gold seller.
I mean not to come across as rude, but your question confuses me, PvE isn’t a competition, and WvW has it’s own issues.

Back then, when I still attended the College of Dynamics, I worked on a Transatmospheric Converter. It is one of my best inventions as young Engineer in my vita. Was a great time under my mentor Blipp. However, that was years ago and the prototype was not as powerful as we wished and I ran out of funds, but it was still a great design and the plans and blueprints were stored in the libraries. Too bad the backups of the plans were lost or stolen and the patent archive in Desider Atum was set on fire by the Inquest.

Who knows if the Inquest just tried to make me think my plans were gone, maybe they were still stored and Grep, the clerk, just failed to find it. Or maybe one of the others at my college class picked up the idea. Changing the weather is a fascinating topic!
Apparently some other Asuran genius picked it up and developed it further with his or her krewe to not only control the weather but also the climate in a large scale.

The tropical temperatures in and around Rata Sum would unbearable when testing out my improved formula of the basic Charr napalm recipe for the flamethrower or under a gas mask and protective suit in the labs.

They looked at it, and decided before launch it was a no go. Any patch on a console has to be checked my Microsoft/Sony before it is shipped. Apparently they also charge for every patch on consoles(don’t know if this is true, it’s something I read on the forum).

This would also involve a lot of work to code the game to work on consoles. Money and time they don’t have given the current lack of content, this would be a really bad idea.

A lot has changed in technology, management, direction, growth (success), and vision for GW2 and the industry since 2012. X1 wasn’t even in the market yet.

and when you compare the pc success of GW2 in comparison to the other mmo’s that did move to console/cross network well it’s pretty safe to say (assume) if DC Universe and ESO can do it financially/technical, I believe it’s well within Anet possibility and gain.

But, you have to realize from a business point of view:
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
The PC version works just fine for now, no need for upgrades to a market that is getting more than enough business from other gaming labels.
(Move the love seat to the PC, it’s smaller- Lazy Boy is having a sale right now!)

I think (and again, just my opinion here) the OP was meaning political issues, not gameplay issues?
I can understand the ‘want’ of not seeing negative feedback on a forum, but some times it is very necessary for the creators and developers of this game to ‘see’ their customers reactions to certain mechanics…so they can get feed back on how to proceed with fixes, improvements, ect.

The important question is whether there’s enough people to do your preferred game mode, and the OP never said which part of the game (s)he likes to play.

The April update revamped the LFG tool, making it massively easier to find people for the content you want to do. I’m having an incredibly easy time finding viable HoT maps now, compared to a month ago when it was always a hassle. (Improved rewards certainly didn’t hurt, either.)

There is also a merchant outside of the Vigil Keep that gives this weird token you can click on daily, and request 1 crowbar, or other assorted type ‘keys’ used in HoT.
