doesn’t work well with latency, you miss every time and immobilise yourself while casting
without resing melee classes or builds would be in an even worse position. repair costs already are pushed onto melee classes. zergs are encouraged by many mechanics. eg, the ability to run and shoot through teammates

I dislike nerfs i think classes or abilities should be buffed instead
esports also don’t force one set of regional players to play at 200-300ms, while anther regional set has 50ms. Competition begins with a level playing field, which is not the case.
what’s funny is this is straight after the announcement about not nerfing and taking a hands off approach, which came immediately after nerfing Line of Warding.

Plenty of other classes that can be said to be too strong in some way or another and some admit it openly with nothing done. Line of Warding was considered op over 2 second kills…which is hilarious imagine the extreme whining that brought on that change…also if you can dodge 100blades then you should be able to dodge/avoid someone with a few boons of SY much more easily since you have more time to react… Plus the Line of Warding being targeted for nerfs must have been super whining by other classes who fear and get buthurt by the tamest non-damaging abilities. Which are now gone due to it.
I’m not sure why people use symbols when most classes are constantly on the move or have ranged attacks..

Yes. I specced both that and Line of Warding. Now I use neither. Which punishes me bc I can no longer enjoy using either ability. Anet has narrowed my choices.

SY was fine. You still had to chase and kill your opponents, who could flee. Some classes can get free kills in the thick of combat and other classes can’t really do anything about it and no1 seems to care.
I kind of like the longbow idea. People keep saying Guardians “aren’t supposed to” this and that yet warrior support healer builds are ok though…even though to me that doesn’t make that much class sense, but i like flexibility in classes so i’m ok with it. we also hear classes are supposed to have all roles yet Guardians are seemingly being pigeonholed into support only. At least half the posts you read are trying to do this when all classes basically heal and can spec defensively.
Everyone says it was op (including Anet) seems to conveniently ignore that one dodge roll and you are out of range. Plus CC and that’s most of it gone. Now on 5 seconds it can be wiped out. Plus that guy saying 1.7k heal/10seconds??? You think that is good when people hit for >1000 easily. In fact they can do over 10000+ in the same time.
No. I see other Guardians play and am skeptical of your claims. That’s it. I know the range of classes and there is a reason sPvP i went against a team of 15 all but 1 composed of thieves. While anet do next to nothing about it, they pore over Guardian abilities with an almost peevish degree of interest.
Let’s not forget thieves oponly admit op powers and show it off in videos, but are not punished like Guardians are. This includes the bizarre Line of Warding nerf, more op than thieves, elems and mesmers.
The patch nerfed an ability that was good in 1v1s, as the down side did not come into play if you exclusively 1v1. So yes it specifically targets Guardians in 1v1 situations. How is that for “any way, shape or form”?
The only problem there is that I have watched other Guardians play.
Given that sPvP involves a lot of 1v1 fights, this nerf makes sense. In PvE and WvWvW, the Guardian is far more likely to have allies around him, and thus far more likely to actually acquire conditions due to this shout.
I was questioning this very point in other threads. Other players insist on telling Guardians who want to 1v1 to “reroll”. Here you are saying it’s precisely this 1v1 situation that crops up so often that causes this nerf, yet I’m being told to reroll for 1v1.
I’m quoting other people. They state what they want. Example:
So you’re whining about your inability to kill 1vs1, well, reroll (insert another class here) pls.
I repeat these are not my words. You shouldn’t be questioning me on this thread.

So we now have ‘Guardian players’ saying that Guardians shouldnt be expected to defeat others in 1v1. With friends, proponents or advocates like these, you don’t need enemies.
So far the answer appears to be yes. Why these nerfs are coming in response to the classes who want the Guardian pushed fully into support.

Really? When some other classes have CC plus 2 second kills? And it breaks stun once. After that you can be stunlocked and wiped off the board by any of the 2 second kill classes. Who btw, basically openly point out how op some of their abilities are. I mean Anet thinks Line of warding is more op than 100blades/elementalists/mesmers (and hence Line of Warding gets nerfed last patch) it’s insane.
People forget that the Guardian was intended as a support class and not the top tier DPS class. RF is powerful.

Yes you can justify it. That’s how the initial decision was made and really it’s the whole point of a Guardian.. but it’s being successively watered down. Buffing the ‘weaker’ classes would be better. And you know what remember that quote that other classes use for these situations, "it’s not supposed to be balanced ", or something… Guardians don’t get to use that line.

Same reason they keep thieves able to do what they do in all the videos while focusing on nerfing Line of Warding duration, a fun utility skill made boring last patch by Anet.

I have no doubt it’s partly my play style. And also I have to deal with latency. However I watch other Guardians and do not see this 1v1 ability, compared to other classes like elem,thief,mesmer etc.
Warriors can kill players in seconds. If they don’t press a button or they are out of dodges the player dies. Guardians can’t do that imo. Despite how others say it’s easily avoided, 100blades etc is effective bc of distractions and repeated stuns/CC.

This is what players do if they can’t win 1v1. They run around trying to simply gain points. That is not Pvp.
Of course neither of those classes has been touched. And the alternative to nerfing would have been to buff a weakness in other classes. Btw, how would your friend escaped being kited and CCd?
Because if 50% of your build’s power came from “Save Yourselves!” the nerf is perfectly justifiable.
Not at all. Why not look at Thieves and Warriors source of dps and their builds? Which are ok and you have not singled out.

You’re missing all the good Guardians who are owning in PvP. Guardians are really, really strong in sPvP (mostly because the focus on point-control)
They are “owning in PvP”. In what way? Killing 1v1?
as a 0/0/30/30/10 shout+occasional consec/crithammer I take pride in providing all kinds of support that I can offer.
So you spec support and comment on how it is a support class and that’s why it should be nerfed. Don’t you see the irony if someone wants to spec otherwise?

Yes…because only the whiners invested a lot of time into their class.
Maybe you didn’t notice but rewards in this game require you to waste a lot of time for anything halfway decent.
