Warrior by a mile. They have been the most played class the last time we got numbers and they only got stronger. No reason to play anything else beside a warrior, unless you get bored.
Oh look, another typical player who thinks Warrior is the best at anything.
Warriors are only useful until both Banner of Discipline and Strength are taken. After that, either pick up more reflections, or a higher damage profession.
But @OP, Warrior is the most used class for the wrong belief they are the best damage (they are not, Thief, Mesmer, Ele and even Guardian are all higher in PvE).
The titel of thread: “PVE most used class”
Which is warrior. Which is the best PVE profession. Which is why you have so many of them. Which is why I posted it.
Let’s look what a base warrior offers:
Highest HP
Highest toughness
Highest armor
Highest mobility
Highest damage
Highest condition removal
Highest weapon swap time
Highest healing without even healingAll at the same time.
It is hard to fail in PvE as a warrior.
Highest HP – On par with necro. (Considering necros aren’t really viable in PvE i’ll give you that one)
Highest Toughness – On par with guardian
Highest Armor – Same as toughness.
Highest Mobility – FGS ele outruns a warrior. Outside of that they have the highest landspeed, yes.
Highest Damage – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnPui3MAx8Q Eles outDPS warriors by far in any given scenario. Warriors are just there to provide banners.
Highest Condition removal. – I think ele takes that title thanks to Ether Renewal.
Highest Weapon swap time – I think you mean lowest, but correct.
Highest Healing without healing – Correct.
At the moment warriors are in a good spot. They certainly don’t provide the highest damage but still are a great addition thanks to the banners they provide. Without those warriors would probably be irrelevant.
Looks like guard GS3 tends to give some trouble too. I got smacked in the face by lupi earlier today when i wanted to dodge right after it.
Now all i need is the blue enhancement to make myself totally fashionable.
You’re getting there, on the Lilith fashionable scale
I also will get the blue one, for my guardian… My warrior’s is already the perfect color.
I always was on that scale. Dont deny it
Now all i need is the blue enhancement to make myself totally fashionable.
Equip defensive stuff and spam 1. Scale eents up so they are harder.
Briliant!just like everyone else does!
I am sorry to say but WHAT the heck?!?! you have 2k gems 400 gold and not one 20 slot crafted bag, no bag expansion slots open, no WvW siege, only 1 set of armor/weapons
this tells me you are missing out on at at least 70% of the game.
but grats on having a decent amount of gold and gems
please go get some bags so you can hold more stuff!
I have 12 bank tabs almost filled completely with stuff for various encounters, thank you very much.
Like i said, this guy is a roamer and thus doesn’t need extraordinary amounts of space.

The sad state of pve
Aye, it’s a shame. I’m hoping for some challenging content next. Preferably something along the lines of the pavilion/liadri fight. Maybe a new dungeon path, but that would be wishful thinking.
And you are the reason that zones are not getting to 1500 citizens saved. You may consider not fighting a boss to be easy combat, but until you show an image of over 1500 saved then you are not playing the event correctly. It is your choice to midlessly zerg and press one, so it is also your choice that you are failing at achieving the highest reward/beating the event.
Yes. As if individual skilled mattered in large scale zerging.
Remember the marionette fight? Remember 4/5, Bearbows and other not so good players failing the event?Exactly. These events are too large scaled for a single individual to make any change. I’ve tried the events quite a few times with good builds to contribute, but in the end it doesn’t matter since there are hunderds of other players autoattacking.
And this is why we have zergs, get 15 people that think individual contribution wont matter, so they stack on a commander and press 1. What is funny is that you bash on zergs, but then contribute to the problem causing a zerg. gg.
The problem with this update is that it punishes players by going in alone. An example is the huge cannon that fires on you whenever you move away from the blob. Another point is that stuff gets extremely upscaled. Even with a good build your contribution will not make an difference, so why should one bother doing so? If ANet wanted to fix blobbing they should punish zergs with the cannon instead of single players. That way they’ll break up.

The queen’s pavilion
Guild Wars 2 is such an immersive game. In the past year I have taken a couple of screenshots that show the best moments I have had in the game so far. What adventures have you had on Your toons? What are the best or funniest moments you have had in GW2? Which areas do you reckon are the most beautiful? Show your screenshots!
You have plenty of gold, you should buy bigger bags so you can get moar loots!
I know, but i have 5 80’s. This guy is my WvW roamer so he doesn’t need that much space.
Final loot from 30 minutes of spamming 1.
Anyone get a repetitive motion injury from spamming 1, because you can’t even move the skill on your bar?
Erm… I set mine to auto attack. I only have to press it once each time the enemy I’m focused on dies. One of the advantages of Ranger-tagging over Guardian-tagging I guess.
Press 1 once. Collect bags!
I’m hoping the finale will give us a small mini dungeon or an actual ’’Difficult’’ boss like tequatl/Triple wurms. The current update is yet again mindless zerging and pressing 1, overwhelming the enemy NPC’s and spamming the loot key right after. While the thought of saving citizens is nice, it doesn’t help as much as to just drone around in a zerg and complete events.
A missed chance in my opinion!
Will activating virtue of courage apply aegis to downed allies?
I’ve been trying to use it in spvp to acheive this result, but almost always the enemies stomp still goes through and defeats my ally. Things are usually so frenetic in pvp that I don’t have time to check to see if the Aegis landed and was removed by an attack by another player, or whether the aegis never affected the downed ally at all.
Stomps go through anything, even blindness. Aegis wont stop that if it even applies on downed allies, which i’m not sure of
So i finally tried my hand at some roaming. It’s quite fun especially when rocking scholar runes and berserker gear. I get melted if i encounter more than two enemies at a time though, due to the sheer glassiness of my build and gear. (10,8k HP master race!) Now, i know my video doesn’t show top notch skills, but that’s because i’m not used to this build.
Is that a teslacoil staff? Do want!
Yes it is! It’s the aetherized staff. Here’s an close up shot
I heard china is getting their own client soon. Maybe that’s the reason why ANet hasn’t implemented chinese languages yet.
I’m thinking the OP means that stuff such as insignias and the prerequistes can be crafted at 450, but that the actual weapon still requires 500 weaponcrafting (for example) to be made.
I don’t really see what kind of difference this would make since you’d still end up needing 500 in your respective craft to make a weapon.
Lowering the crafting level to 450 would be unfair to people who got their crafts to 500, and makes the last 50 levels rather redundant, unless you’re an AP hunter.
Musclewizard rocking the gas mask. All i need now is the PvP masquerade top (The barechest one) In PvE to complete my look.
Sounds fun. I’m always up for some dungeon runs. I can play either Ele, Engi, Mesmer or Guard. Though i can’t do fractals since i don’t have a group to grind out the lower levels (20-30) for AR and the likes.
Precharge RoW and then JI right at the end. Usually knocks people down if they try to escape. after that i generally follow up with a mighty blow and AA chain before throwing down a zealots embrace and swapping to my other weapon set, which is Sword/Focus usually. I also have a hydromancy sigil to chill people when i swap.
Ele and ranger need some love right now. Spirit rangers need to be toned down while other specs need to be pushed up and made more viable. (I’m looking at you, trapper. I barely see you guys in tpvp.)
Lets wait it out first, and see what the actual nerfs to the heal sig do. Right now i do play a warrior in tpvp, and i agree it’s slightly broken with the amount of regen you’re able to attain. The change to the healsig should nerf this slightly without going completely overboard. If they want to nerf warrior regen they should look at regenerating banners first, imo.
my build is better than yours. Staff best guard wep because everyone uses it
Okay you nerds, shut up. This is the single best build out there. If you disagree with me i will flag and report you btw.
This build revolves around burning and staff autoattack. You have great DPS and burning uptime thanks to the supreme justice and permeating wrath trait. This allows you to apply AoE burning EVERY time you autoattack for over a whole second. You don’t even have to crit to get your god tier DPS which makes it automatically better than any zerker build since they need to crit (lol noobs l2play). Basically all u need to do with this build is autoattack with staff and you will be like god, burning everything by just staring at your opponent. Your utilities will be Sword of Justice, Hammer of Wisdom and Bow of truth for that sweet single target damage. You also get all the spirit weapon related traits to make sure they’re SUPER effective. Your heal will be the antitoxin spray to keep those zerker nerds alive that are just looking at you in awe, as you burn dredge to ashes. Your elite will be the tome of wrath for MORE BURNING. Even satan and hell got nothing on you.
Trust me once u run this build u will see the light pce out my brothers and like and subscribe
My guess is because it’s an major trait as opposed to a minor. That, and Elementalists have a lot less survivability when compared to mesmers or guardians.
1. Elementalist.
2. Mesmer
3. Ranger
So I just got booted from a COE Path 3 dungeon group for having full clerics gear…wtf. I’m primarily a wvw player so I like playing ultra-support and giving as much heals, protection, and retaliation, etc as I can. I figured clerics gear would make the most sense for me. I also figured it’d be suitable in dungeons as well. But I guess it’s not…? I also have a set of soldier’s gear. Would that be more favorable for dungeon group play? Why did clerics get me booted? Thanks.
Because you weren’t running a proper build/gear setup for PvE. PvE and WvW are two entirely different gamestyles, and both require different sets of gear. (With the exception of roaming, since you can get away with running burst/zerks there.) In general, clerics is trash due to the low damage output. The best support you can give as a guardian is active damage migitation by utilizing Aegis, protection, Blinds and Reflects.
My mesmer, probably the best looking character that I have.
Head – Human T1 Light
Shoulder – Aetherblade Light
Chest – Aetherblade Light
Gloves – Crucible of Eternity Light
Legs – Human T1 Light
Boots. – Crucible of Eternity Light
Dyes : Blue Ice, Black cherry and regular cherry.
Elementalist. Their damage output exceeds other classes by atleast 30% in normal situations, and most likely over 100-200% against large hitbox mobs provided you use a staff.
So, it looks like Meteor Shower should have a red circle. Is there a chance that it is being culled out in the situations you experienced?
No, just no. Don’t give MS a circle, Right now the only reason why MS actually hits is because people do not see it coming. The cast time is huge and you are rooted during the cast.
If you do decide to give MS a circle then atleast give it some compensation such as a damage increase/radius increase on each seperate meteor. But right now the skill is fine as it is.
Ice storm from the Ice Bow is better than the Glyph of Storms cast in Air, much better.
Blasting staff does increase the damage potential of Meteor Shower, but this increase comes at a cost and it is depending upon the size of the target. For a human-sized target (radius 45) the increase is 54%, while for much larger targets (radius 180) the increase is 28%. This is just an example, I do not know the radius of the tree.
Persisting Flames increases the number of total ticks from Lava Font not by 1 but by 2.
Correct, but i was wondering if they would be better off if they slotted the storm glyph and a staff instead of arcane shield/LH. The radius of the nightmare tree -SEEMS- 360 with 5 individual hitboxes of ? range. All i know is that the air glyph hits 180 times if planted in the middle, so i’m guessing it’s an split hitbox that connects in the middle, much like most ’’Epic’’ level world bosses such as tequatl, the shatterer and golem MKII.
The fastest way to kill the Nightmare tree would probably Eruption > Air attune > Storm glyph > Bow > Water attune if using piercing shards, if not > Fire attune and #4 > Lava font > MS > FGS.
No idea if you can do it more effectivly but this is what seems most effective.
The staff ele was using 25/25/10/10/0. And the other was using 30/30/10/0/0. Same builds as used in arah p3.
Im not sure blasting staff is ever worth taking.
I find it rather useful, it makes meteor shower extremely accurate and gives it a massive DPS boost since the trait applies to each individual meteor. Also turns fireball into a big cleave for pulls and the increased font radius is also nice.
Then again, it probably ends up in slightly lower DPS, though i’m kind of biased to the additional cleave/radius on my spells.
Also, what builds were the eles running? I saw a few lava fonts but the radius on them were rather small, wouldn’t blasting staff net in a DPS increase due to the enormous DPS increase on meteor shower and more cleave on font/fireballs?
Not sure what the exact math would be behind it, figured i’d toss it up.
Extremely nice run! Though you could probably improve on the nightmare tree. Have the eles considered slotting the Glyph of storms and using the air attunement attack? Each lightning bolt will hit 5 times on the nightmare tree, totalling in 180 strikes. Might be worth checking out to speed up your run. You’d have to drop Arcane Shield for it though, but it shouldn’t be an issue with WoR/Reflects
Ele damage is king.
Persisting flames is much better if you run staff. The lava font damage increase is crazy
Not really impressive.
If we count multiple hits from a single attack, then Frost bow/Meteor shower will crush the competition (bar FGS rush ofcourse)

Double sigils will slightly counter this nerf. And if it’s just crit damage that gets the nerf bat, and not the actual damage then we’ll even end up with slightly higher numbers. Especially if you stack force and night.
didn t they say they are reducing damage of 2H of 5% because now they consider 2H to have default sigil of force?
So if you put it back the change in dps of 2H won t actually change at all..
I haven’t read that, actually. Got a source on it?

Ele do little to no reall damage in staff
What did you just say?
Right now, i kind of feel that rangers are lacking in WvW and to a certain extent in tpvp outside of spirit builds, while thieves are in a VERY good position when it comes to backcapping and being able to dish out large numbers while having a great amount of sustain thanks to their stealth.
I consider rangers to be a sort of ’’Tracker’’ class, being able to track targets to a certain extent, considering they can lay traps, are proficient in nature magic and are able to charm pets.
My proposition would be to give certain underused pets abilities to apply revealed, and buff certain skills/traps.
For example, Hunter’s Call summons a bunch of hawks that claw away at the thief. When the thief stealths, the hawks go invisible too. Instead of that, make the hawks apply revealed while they claw away at an target, since seeing someone being ripped apart by a pack of hawks isn’t really stealthy, now is it?
I am not sure about giving certain traps the same treatment, since traps are already quite strong on their own.
As for pets, i’d like to see pigs apply revealed. Currently i almost never see a ranger using any kind of pig pet. Giving these guys a new utility would surely make them viable. Again, i haven’t really decided on what the radius would be and how it would be implemented, but it’s a nice idea to discuss.
Any thoughts on this?
Female Boon Dispenser.
Like the title says, i’d love to see some unified change to damage floaters when you use a skill that ticks multiple times. Sometimes it shows up for a full channel attack (example, hundred blades) And other times it’ll only show up as small ticks of 4000 damage (Example, lava font.)
What i’d like to see is an option that allows you to toggle between these floaters, so that people can accurately measure how much damage certain channeled skills do, without going back to the combat log and counting the amount of hits it did and the amount of damage.
I’d also like to see something like this for large AoE attacks, such as meteor shower, Ice storm and barrage, to name a few. Simply let them show how much damage you have dealt to each target, and at the end of the attack let it add all the numbers up and present you with one, large number.
This is more a QoL change if anything, but it’d be really neat if it was possible.
Feel free to provide suggestions and feedback about this idea, more is always better!
Remove shield of the avenger. It’s a very good spirit weapon.
The other ones should stay though
Guardian – Kindled zeal (Trait)
Almost nobody uses burning as a main damage source. This trait is unworthy of being grandmaster tier and needs a rework/buff to be viable.
Guardian – Spirit weapons. (Except for Shield Of The Avenger)
Spirit weapons are currently extremely weak and rarely used. To make them even remotely viable you need to trait heavily into the zeal line.
Suggested fix. Merge the Wrathful Spirits and Eternal spirit traits and turn it into a master trait. This also frees up a new grandmaster trait slot.
Guardian – Sanctuary (very long cooldown)
Sanctuary is a good skill, especially paired with master of consecrations. It’s most definetly not useless.
why can’t we equip 10 rings. We have 10 fingers right?
Healing Breeze
Guardian – Healing skill.
A single blast finisher in a water field will provide nearly the same amount of healing to allies than the healing breeze does. Healing signet and shelter are both much better heals than the breeze, considering healing signet heals more, and is on the same cooldown/lower if traited and shelter is able to block attacks while you heal.
Shatterstone
Elementalist – Water Scepter 2.
A slow, extremely predictable attack that does pitiful damage and applies 4 stacks of vulnerability. Casting this skill does more harm to you than good, considering it also takes a whole second to cast.
Ether Bolt, Ether Blast, Ether Clone.
Mesmer, scepter autoattack chain.
Again, an extremely slow and predictable cast. Does horrid damage, especially considering scepter is an condition weapon and it applies no conditions. The clone can also be blocked and reflected to provide a clone for your opponent (Which is hilarious to be honest, seeing 50 guardian clones whacking their scepters) to provide them an advantage.
Suggested fixes.
Healing breeze – Rework the skill completely and make it work like Arcane Brilliance. Increase cooldown to 45 seconds. Base healing is now 6000 and scales 1.5:1 with healing power. Allied units within 180 range of the guardian will be healed for 1500*1:5. Maximum affected allies is 5. Cast time is 1.5 seconds.
Shatterstone.
Allow the elementalist to detonate it on command. Shatterstone will instantly detonate once the elementalist presses shatterstone again after being placed. Example:
Player A and Player B are fighting. Player A casts shatterstone. After 10 seconds, player B walks in the shatterstone range. Player A detonates shatterstone and player B gets hit.
Increase vulnerability to 6 stacks. Keep the current damage. Detonating the shatterstone does not interrupt your current action.
Ether Bolt, Ether Blast, Ether clone.
A simple fix would be to let the scepter apply conditions on autoattack. 1 bleed for ether bolt, 1 vuln for ether blast, and 1 burn for ether clone. This ties in nicely with the staff autoattack which in my opinion is balanced. to offset this and prevent power creep, increase the clone attack intervals by one second.
Thoughts?
