You can either go 30/10/10/10/10 as a staff elementalist, 25/25/10/10/0 as an LH elementalist or 30/10/10/20 to have a mix of both.
The staff elementalist provides immense damage and a 95-100% fire field uptime, allowing your party members to constantly stack might by blasting through fields.
The Lightning Hammer elementalist also provides lots of damage, though less than a staff elementalist. However, their autoattack is both a blast finisher and AoE blind, so they have more sustain than a staff ele, while also providing much more blasts.
If you are the only ele in a group, i recommend using the LH build. If there is another LH ele present, then you should use the staff build.
I have no idea if this has been suggested earlier, but what if we make the marks an on demand explode skill. Doing so allows you to fake out explosions, and catch groups of enemies by surprise. This also negates people being able to detonate marks by just dodging through them.
I was actually thinking of doing that for putrid mark. However, I feel like just making them explode immediately would also prove to be a bad design due to a lack of proper counterplay measures. At least it should have a 1-second delay with some sort of animation. I feel like making it spawn a bubble similar to a brown-tinted Guardian Sanctuary before exploding after 1 second would suffice. In any case, it would allow Necros to bait more enemies into their mark before blowing it up.
How about using the same animation as a guardian symbol pulse? Perhaps they could even incorporate a channel based mark. A quick tap would place the mark just like it is right now and would have the same cast time, wheras a longer held stage 2 channel would allow you to detonate the mark on command, but at the cost of an increasing cast time. Both should have an delay of one second before triggering.

Nerf clerics. Allowing to facetank ARAH and LUPICUS without dodging is extremely broken. This is something you can’t deny.
I use main greatsword and alt Scepter-and-Shield. During the fight with the Twisted Marionette, the second warden gives me trouble… Trying to melee them usually doesn’t end well: as soon as I notice that it’s stunned from the mines, I end up Leap of Faith’ing in just in time for the boss to break out of stun and knock me on my kitten . So I end up just ranging him with my scepter, but I do so little damage with that thing that I feel pretty useless. How do you guardians go about doing the second warden?
Dodge into it and make sure it hits their own mine, then DPS away with my weapons
Flash news: Warriors are already inferior to guardians in bunkering. And rifle build… lol.
Adren healing + Regen banners + Heal sig makes warriors a great bunker, i consider them on par with guardians when it comes to bunkering. Not to mention that warrior banners are AoE and pump out support to nearby allies, something which a guardian can’t do.
A simple way to fix thief is to make them reveal when they miss their attack in stealth. Being able to mash 111111111 countless times and missing isn’t stealthy. It’s being an idiot swinging their dagger about and missing. If a thief manages to catch you with a CnD and backstab without missing, then the huge 15k damage is justified. It’s not when they aren’t penalized for missing it and being able to spam it over again
TL;DR. Damage is fine, the stealth mechanic is not.
How about letting light fields apply vuln? Right now there is a 15 zeal trait that applies vuln on symbols. Considering all symbols are light fields, i kinda think it’d made sense if they also applied vuln on base, and doubled it up with that symbol trait. This also would give guards more condition coverage with vulnerability.

We only have one condition to start with that scales only in duration.
Just… no. It’s a bad stat for guardians that is not even remotely competitive in any area of the game. You’re just setting yourself up to be a bad player.

That said, a burning condition build wont work. Guards wont have enough coverage and people can just kite and spam /laugh at you.

How will this affect hemispherical aimed skills, such as meteor storm and frost bow #4?
What will happen to other ground targeted skills such as mind stab and lava font/eruption etc. How would these react to the max radius change?Unless i am completely wrong, the max range of those are base on center of AOE.
Sort of, with the exception that you can line up meteor storm if you use Burning retreat and cast meteor storm while doing so, effectivly pushing you at the out of range line. This allows you to eliminate a single axis of the meteor storm and makes it cast as a wall/line.
The reason for this is because Meteor Storm is a six stage channel, dropping 4 meteors each 16% of the channel done. The same applies to frost bow, except i don’t know how many stages it has, but i’m assuming its a 4 or 5 stage channel with 4/5 projectiles dropping down each stage.
This also works with mesmer portal if you want to pinpoint a location, you have to hit it at a perfect 135/215 degree angle for it to work though

A mesmer can be completely replaced by other classes that will bring more dps overall. And now due to the harpy feather change im pretty sure mesmers cant do the forward skip so they are not good in that path anymore either

Veil + The prestige + Decoy. 3 stealths to get past the 3 mob packs, and you still have an util slot left for portal if your party members are lazy

Things that make the run go longer: having no mesmers, having no mesmers with feedback, group not understanding that being poisoned at Malrona is a good thing, people not being able to melee tree, people trying to exploit (jumping puzzles to try and range bosses), ranging bosses…..

Figured i’d post the video here. used build was 30/10/10/10/10. I know much faster is possible, but i really liked how this clip turned out, especially how our instance owner swapped chars and we had to rerun and watch the cutscene, hence why it might seem like it skips a bit.
Why would a support with toughness and vitality do the same damage as someone that is a complete glass cannon. Zerker would be moot then.

Because everyone is an exploiter these days! Get with the times. Stacking, LoSing and dealing damage is all an exploit.

10/10 would read again Thank you for the information. Btw I have a (probably really dumb) question. Why are we not supposed to pick up the lightning hammers? I never picked them up but Im curious
without a lightning hammer the elementalist does pathetic DPS, whereas most other classes have pretty strong normal weaponsets (e.g. warr, guard)
in very short fights it isn’t as important since the elementalist shouldn’t run out of charges, but in prolonged fights like the golem in COE hammer downtime destroys the ele’s DPS, so don’t pick it up.
Unless you’re a clerics master race ele.

I dunno, tying percentage damage blocked to Adrenaline would further entrench Cleansing Ire as “mandatory” for all Warrior builds.
Maybe 1 second of Block out of every 5 seconds? or 2 out of every 10? The cooldown should be short enough that you can block for a short duration very frequently.
So you want a renewed focus tier block every 10 seconds on an already very tanky class? Warrior would need some severe nerfs in other aspects then (such as impale) to prevent a power creep from happening.
as a class that cant damage properly, and as a heavy wearer we should of being at least mid tier at HP.
Stopped reading there. Guards have more DPS than warriors when they’re on equal footing (Warrior not using banners or both being under the effect of banners etc)
What if they made the DS damage overflow only count at a certain health treshold such as 50% and upwards?
Example: Player A has 40,000 life force when their death shroud is fully charged. Player A has 25,000 life force left when the boss throws in an attack for 30,000 damage. (Random numbers i know) Since player A is above the 50% treshold, the overflow damage gets ignored and player A exits his DS at full HP.
Player B has 40,000 life force when their death shroud is fully charged. Player B has 10,000 life force left when the boss attacks for 17,500 damage. Since player B is below the 50% treshold, the overflow damage counts and player B exits his DS at Full HP – 7,500.

Not anymore, s/d now. Its still a stupid idea. I guess I’d be okay with it as long as warriors burst skills used all adrenaline when they miss and went on full cooldown.

I agree with you on the warrior notion. Seeing a warrior URFSHAKE away from me as an escape to only use it 7-10 seconds later is pretty crazy. Players should be punished for missing their attacks, not giving them a second shot.
The pseudo stunbreak on PR should be kept unless they put staff back to it’s former glory pre march 2013. Giving Chaos armour and Chaos storm such a big nerf kind of killed the staff for anything other than having great mobility in combat and annoying everyone that tries to catch you.
While we’re at it, nerf P/U. It’s a bs trait
Hammer is fine, it’s mainly a self AoE high damage weapon with some control attached to it. (Banish/RoW/ZE) As much as i’d like them to buff hammer (due to maining hammer on my guard) it would make it grossly OP by pumping out perma prot and even more damage without traiting for it.

Good thing i recently bought a clerics set for my ele! Now it will become the new meta and everyone will AFK at bosses thanks to my superior healing.
Seriously, if you’re going to nerf berserkers, give clerics a nerf too. a few days ago i streamed a no dodging clerics run (And ended up getting banned for unacceptable behavior??) and we didn’t go down once. (With the exception of maw, since you still get insta’d there) Clerics and healing power is extremely broken and needs a harsh nerf.
How is clerics broken exactly? Because you lose dps in favor of healing and armor?
What is your point? It’s broken because you can face tank more because you have more defensive stats?

Clerics is extremely strong and could almost be considered an exploit.
When you can outheal CHAMPIONS by autoattacking, facetanking and not even dodging once then something is clearly wrong with the game.
Nerf clerics, keep zerker meta.
Oh be sure to NOT wear clerics as an ele. ArenaNet doesn’t like it when you do that.

So I’ve been doing some dungeons lately to try to get empyreal fragments…and I’ve noticed that many, many players use this “stacking” tactic where everyone stands on one pixel and hits the mobs against a lot of different encounters.
This has to be the most horribly boring and irritating way to play a dungeon. I realize that it is the most efficient way to do it, but the gameplay of stacking is absolutely horrible.
You literally stand in one spot, can hardly see your character, then press your buttons and hope you win. No dodging, no movement, nothing. And even worse, the camera angles usually either have you trying to do an isometric style view or staring at a wall.
Now I don’t blame the players for this…players will always just find the most efficient way to get through content, even if it sucks. Instead, I blame the game design for allowing stacking to be the most efficient way to get through content.
Please, please implement something that makes stacking less effective…maybe more AoEs that have to be dodged, maybe a “hot foot” effect that hurts you if you stand still for too long…something. Because right now, stacking is making dungeons a terribile droll experience.
Because this is how the game is meant to be played, right?

How about we nerf perp runes and revert the 50% damage reduction on confusion, amongst other confusion related nerfs back in march/april and bring back the glorious days of the glamour mesmer? That’d make them a whole lot more useful
